I slept through the night for the first time since arriving and didn’t wake up until 5am. I forgot how nice it was to actually sleep a full eight hours without waking up exaughsted.
At 7.30 am we had breakfast in the hotel lobby.
At 8.30 we packed our stuff to ship it to Kyoto. We were only allowed a night bag for two nights since carrying all our luggage on the trip to Hiroshima would be too cumbersome.
At 9.30am we left for Odawara castle.
Odawara Castle was beautiful, but there were so many flights of stairs to get to the top. I think it was a total of 8 flights. The surrounding area of the castle was even better than the castle itself. There’s a little shrine next to the castle where we ran into a couple who was getting newborn pictures with their baby. The entire family was there and I got a shot of the grandparents. The last photo is of an older gentleman who was sketching the shire before he moved to water color.
After Odawara we made our way to Odawara station where we had tickets to take the Shinkansen to Hiroshima.
In the station were plenty of shops to eat, drink, and get books. I grabbed some pork cutlet curry.
We all huddled in a line before the shikansen arrived for our first train one hour train ride before we transferred to a two hour ride to Hiroshima. The train was fast, but it felt like a normal train to be honest.
We arrived at the hotel pretty late (8pm), which is about the time I had dinner.
Finally full for the first time in days, lol, I am going to read a bit, edit some chapters of LMW and then go to bed.
I know this post was short, but we really didn’t do much today. XD
Oyasumi,
Addis
