Xiao XingChen and Song Lan’s story was beyond sad and heartbreaking. Even more so when we get to see what happened it n ‘that’ village. Oh, my heart is already twisting. On the other hand, my favorite is a drunk Lan Zhan!
*sighs* This story is epic not only because of the love story between the 2 protagonists but also because of the rich cast of supporting characters. Thanks for the heads up, my daughter has read ahead of me and confirms there’s lots of heartbreak in store… It’s also sad that WuXian never meant for his creations to wreak so much havoc!! No wonder he was reviled… with only 1 person steadfastly believing in him! I’ll just have to cling onto the cute moments to help me survive this tale. I finally can understand Song Lan and Xiao XingChen´s story clearly! I still feel so much hatred for Xue Yang, that bastard I can´t handle all the suffering he caused to such a lovely person as Xiao XingChen… Thank you so much for the translation, after watching the anime, drama, and reading the manga I was eager to read the novel!
I was really curious why people ship xue yang and xiao chen even when song lan was not in picture. And damn their tragic end had me crying 😭 I really ship xiao chen and song lan but now I also understand why xue yang was in ship. He letter become so obsessed with xiao chen. I really hated him for what he did with xiaochen and song lan. But I also like him.

all my emotions are invested in Wen Ning to be honest. i hurt incredibly much whenever he appears in the story because death should be a comfortable closure to one’s life, and he couldn’t even get that much. if he can’t rest even after death, he’s one miserable person. the most miserable if you ask me. that’s the one reason Wei WuXian’s demonic cultivation makes me somewhat uncomfortable. i really think that he didn’t do anything wrong, but i don’t know how i feel about him giving a consciousness to a dead person. This was a really good chapter i loved reading Song lan,s and Xiao Xingchen,s story it was really interesting . Also wait a minute i thought lan zhan would get drunk this was suprising .
