Now that I have reread this chapter, it’s hard to see WWX suffering alone. These harsh flashbacks made the present so worth it for LWJ and WWX. Though knowing how ZiXuan died and how YanLi mourned with baby Jin Ling, this chapter did rip my heart into pieces. 🙁

I love Wei Ying so much. Honestly it’s not the dark path itself that twisted his once cheerful heart – it’s the rejection, injustice, and frustration that has been festering in his existence for these past years. He feels hopeless, he doesn’t feel like he has a place in the world 🙁 Man, lately every chapter has been agony to read because they break my heart TvT but I’m super grateful to the ERS translators because this novel is really, really good. I Just discovered this novel, and I’ve been reading it like a madwoman every moment of free time I had during the past three Days.
It’s so beautiful yet tragic. Poor Wei Ying. He Just wanted to live in his own way. The pain of all that rejection and malevolence around him have festered now. I think his doom is very near, but some more tragedies are about to happen.
