So glad we’re back to the present timeline, these last few flashback chapters had so much pain and angst in them. JianYanli died so cruelly… stabbed in the neck right when she was trying to say something to WeiWuxian. I realized that we’ve not seen any interaction between NieHuaiShang and WeiWuxian since their study days at the Cloud Recesses. They seemed to get along pretty well back then. NieHuaiShang even thought the idea of controlling resentful energy was an interesting one, but we’ve not seen what he thinks of WeiWuxian as the Yiling Patriarch yet.
