This chapter really hits home for me. Like this quote especially– “He wasn’t scared of falling. All these years, he’d fallen many times. But falling on the ground still hurt, after all. If someone was be there to catch him, it’d be more than wonderful.” I remember this quote from when I started this novel somewhere else, but now I see it again, it just suddenly makes so much more sense…. Oh wow… This is a tough one. On one hand the interactions between Wei Ying and Lan Zhan are so sweet and full of trust. Lan Zhan can even enjoy a hug now without wanting to run away. ❤️ And on the other hand there is Jiang Cheng who always felt abandoned and betrayed by Wei Ying. In my opinion he has every right to be angry but he still uses false pretense to hide how much he was hurt in the past. He is so awkward when it comes to his own feelings that he can’t help but lash… Read more »

I’ve been waiting for Jiang Cheng and Wei WuXian’s confrontation for so long!!! Although it pains me to see both of them so tense and Jiang Cheng so hostile to Wei WuXian, Lan WangJi and Wen Ning, I’m looking forward to see if they ever reconcile and how. Not that I want them to be super close like how they once used to be but I’d like for them to come to understand each other.
