Chapter 7: Regaining Aura

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Lu Ming hooked up the corners of his mouth and smiled coldly, holding the wooden stick tightly in his hand and waving it forward continuously. For a while, a few of the boys found it difficult to get close, and could only dodge around in a mess, their hearts fearing the uncertain. This young master today was crazy! In the past, he never resisted their scolding and bullying. They were able to make things excessively difficult but now he could strike so ruthlessly, completely unlike his usual style.

The boy who was hit on the head got up from the ground and pulled a cloth to cover his bleeding forehead, cursing, “A bunch of idiots, he used firewood, you can’t use it too!”

A few people woke up as if from a dream and also picked up some thick firewood on the ground and shot it at Lu Ming. The boy was so anxious that he got up from the ground, picked up a piece of firewood from the ground and didn’t hesitate to smash it on the boys, but unfortunately, he was beaten too hard just now, so he had no strength left in his body and soon fell to the ground.

Lu Ming’s body suffered several heavy blows, plus the whip injury was not yet healed. Coping with everything was very difficult, but he also had strong breath, so he attacked more and more severely. This single boy was able to take on the crowd and they entered a deadlock.

The young man was so angry that he picked up a stone from the ground and threw it straight at Lu Ming’s head, who was unable to avoid the attack. He was caught off guard when the stone hit him on the forehead, making his brain dizzy and his eyes blur. Blood slowly fell down his forehead until it dripped into his eyes, and Lu Ming’s sanity was restored, but his eyes were already scarlet. The blows on his body did not stop, hitting his body one after another, and the pain was unbearable.

The boy saw that Lu Ming seemed to have no strength, waved his hand towards the others and snickered, “Don’t kill him, the young master is the only genius Artifact Refining master of the He family, one that is hard to find even once a hundred years with his earth spiritual root. His identity is valuable.”

Lu Ming braced his shaky body, handsome cheeks like frost. With such a falcon-like gaze cold look towards the group of evil slaves in front of him, as if he were the waxing moon in cold winter. The anger was like a huge wave that gradually took away his reason, his eyes suddenly became red, coupled with the face full of blood, he looked as if he were an evil spirit from hell. He was emitting an appalling sense of oppression around him, and the surrounding air also seemed to freeze. Everyone present felt like they had fallen into an ice cave, and their backs were covered in chills.

The boy on the ground looked at what was happening in front of him, tears in his eyes, whispering to Lu Ming, “Young master, you should go, do not fight with them anymore.”

Lu Ming heard the words, the corners of his mouth hooked up in a smile. His eyes were like stars glittering in the dark night, like two pieces of black obsidian, shining with a dark dazzling luster. He shook his head and said, “Some decisions once made, even if the end is death, one can not step back.”

The boy’s body shook, tears instantly came out of his eyes, biting his lips. For the first time, he felt the weakness and insignificance of his own power. The childish cheeks filled with a maturity that did not match his age. His eyes held flames of anger as if they were hanging high in the sky creating dazzling daylight, causing even one’s soul to gradually burn up. However, the crowd’s attention was taken by Lu Ming, and did not see that the fallen boy’s original black eyes slowly turned red, cold like the devil in hell. Black fog slowly hovered around his body, and it looked bizarre to the extreme.

On the other hand, Lu Ming suddenly felt his body become hot, as if the power repressed in some deep part of his body was slowly awakening. The pain in the parts of the body that had been hit by the firewood disappeared, and even the pain from the wounds that had been inflicted a few days before, and the bleeding wounds on his forehead healed quickly at a speed visible to the naked eye, becoming smooth as ever in just a few seconds.

The boy looked at the scene in horror and stammered, “What is this?”

Lu Ming raised his hand in confusion and looked at it. The light became stronger and stronger as the crowd stared in amazement, and gradually, it coalesced into a huge ball of light that illuminated Lu Ming’s entire body, looking as if he was the god Immortal from the heavenly realm.

The group of boys were frightened by the scene. Their legs could no longer hold on, and they fell on their buttocks and sat on the ground, their hearts heaving violently. Only after a long time did one of the boys speak in a panic, “Young master He… He has actually regained his aura!”

Lu Ming’s eyes flashed with confusion when he heard the young man’s words, could this be the aura necessary to practice Immortal Techniques as mentioned in the Immortal Emperor Demon King novel?

The rest of the people looked at the sphere in Lu Ming’s hand that emitted a dazzling glow, and a hint of desperate fear crossed their eyes. If the young master had really regained his aura, it would mean that his status would change drastically from this moment on. The young master of the He family would definitely regain his former glory and continue to be the eldest son of the He family, who was so honored in the past that even the main wife of the He family had to be courteous to him.

Moreover, the young master of the He family had a top grade earth spiritual root. Even five years ago, he was famous throughout the cultivation world. With his strength, even as one person, he could kill the most terrifying beast in the secret world, which escaped. And that legendary terrifying beast, even three Foundation Establishment cultivators teaming up needed to besiege it and may not have much chance of victory.

But just now, not only did they speak out of turn, they even hit and injured him. Even if they were killed hundreds of times, it was not enough to pay back what they had done. They never thought that the young master would suddenly regain his aura, and looking at it from both sides, they would not be able to avoid death today.

The great fear of death made the several teenagers shiver and stay on the ground, while kowtowing hard and crying, “Young master, please spare us! We won’t dare to do it again!”

Lu Ming saw their foreheads were covered in blood from knocking, but was not moved at all. He moved a few steps forward, hooked the corners of his mouth into a cold smile, and stared at them with his viper-like gaze. All those present could not help but feel a chill crawl up their back, like they had fallen into an ice cave.

A demonic cold voice immediately rang out next to the ears of the people, as if a vicious judge came to pronounce the death sentence, “It’s already too late.”

◆◆◆◆

On both sides of a winding stream was turquoise and lush green grass. Although it was already late autumn, the trees were lush and green because of the spring water flowing from the Spirit Mountain, and a hundred flowers were competing with each other, looking like an unparalleled spring feast.

In the turquoise grass, there were two teenagers sitting at the moment, school bags and firewood were casually thrown not far away. Both of them had smiles on their faces, looking warm and harmonious. These two people were Lu Ming and the boy who was just beaten up.

“Young master, why didn’t you kill those people who bullied you?” The boy cocked his head and asked He Qingci in a puzzled voice.

He Qingci wiped the dirty sludge from the boy’s cheeks with a handkerchief soaked with stream water, while shaking his head helplessly, “They are not guilty enough to die, so why should I kill them all?”

The boy argued with dissatisfaction, “But they not only beat you, but also called you, called you a…”

“Dog?” Lu Ming interjected with a light laugh, and then said, “In my eyes, they are even worse than dogs, so why should I have to fight with a group of animals? If I were to say a punishment, it would be better to kill them and be done with it, rather than let them live for the time being, fearing that his head would be lost tomorrow, wouldn’t that be more painful?”

The boy’s bright eyes turned and suddenly opened up, looking at Lu Ming’s dark eyes. His eyes suddenly became crystal bright, adoringly looking at Lu Ming and said, “I understand, if someone harms me in the future, even if I have the ability to kill them, I should leave them a cheap life. That way they can spend all day long in fear and anxiety. This is the most cruel punishment for them.”

Lu Ming patted his little head and scolded, “Who said I didn’t kill them for this reason? I just want to tell you that human life should not be taken arbitrarily, just get the punishment they deserve. As the saying goes, if there was a god every three feet, people would not act too ruthlessly.”

The boy bristled, stubborn, “Anyway, if it were me, after this humiliation today, when I get stronger, I will make all these people who have bullied me suffer.”

Lu Ming smiled and sighed helplessly on his forehead, did he teach the child badly?

Lu Ming used a handkerchief to wipe the child’s face for a long time, before wiping his little face clean. The child’s face was white and tender, and there were two shallow dimples on his round cheeks when he smiled. With those big, soulful black eyes, he looked very cute.

Lu Ming could not help but reach out his hand to pinch his face, moving clockwise around in a circle, and then counterclockwise around a circle, until the child’s white face was pinched red. His eyes gradually flooded with watery luster, and only then reluctantly did Lu Ming put down his hand, apparently still wanting to finish.

The boy touched his own face with aggression and complained, “It’s all swollen.”

Lu Ming coughed in embarrassment and hurriedly changed the subject, “How come you are so young but picking up firewood to sell? Who are the people in your family?”

The boy’s eyes darkened and he said, “There’s only my mother and I at home. My mother had a serious illness a few years ago, so she has to stay in bed all day to recover. As for my father… I have never seen him since I was born. My mother always said that my father had his own reasons for not being able to visit me, so I should not blame him.”

Lu Ming’s heart tightened as he looked at the child’s sullen face, his long eyelashes twitching slightly, as if he was an abandoned child, his head drooping and silent. Lu Ming reached out to touch his head and said comfortingly, “Since your mother said that, she didn’t want you to look like that, and she didn’t want you to hate your father.”

Lu Ming scratched his scalp, not knowing how to coax a child, so he reached out his hand and injected his aura into his palm. Gradually, a glistening ball of light appeared in the palm of his hand, and was manipulated by Lu Ming to roll around, looking very cute.

The boy, who was still a child at heart, was immediately attracted to the ball of light in Lu Ming’s hand, his eyes dully following the ball around and couldn’t help but marvel, “It’s so beautiful, is this the aura that the man said?”

Lu Ming smiled gently and nodded, “All cultivators have aura in their bodies, only the strength varies. If the purity of the aura is higher, it proves that the qualification is better and the cultivation is stronger. In this way, it will be relatively easier to learn the method of refining Artifacts.”

The child looked at Lu Ming enviously and asked in a sticky voice, “Can I have an aura too?”

Lu Ming was softened by the child’s moist eyes and patiently explained, “It depends on the individual’s qualifications. The best is the sky spiritual root, not only the speed of the cultivator’s art is several times that of ordinary people, ascension can also be unimpeded with no bottleneck. In thousands of years, it is difficult to find such a person, maybe not even one in a million. However, everything varies from person to person, some people are congenitally deficient in miscellaneous spiritual roots, but with perseverance, years of hard practice, they can eventually achieve Immortal Ascension, flying to the Immortal world.”

The boy’s eyes lit up and he said, “I seem to have heard my mother say that the former Immortal Emperor Ze Yu was the lowest qualification of the miscellaneous spiritual root, but he never gave up and was able to ascend hundreds of years later. When he flew, thunder clouds covered ten thousand miles, ten thousand golden lights shot from the clouds to the earth. The thunder clouds blasted down one hundred and eight terrifying thunderbolts, but could not stop him from flying into the Immortal realm. He finally became the most honored Immortal Emperor in the three worlds.”1

Lu Ming stroked his head, but his heart was thinking about the plot mentioned in the novel. The protagonist, Sang Wusheng, was not only one in a million spiritual root grade and later found an excellent spiritual spring, where he practiced Immortal arts. With the guidance of other people, he was able to practice the right method, and in just two hundred years, he reached the late stage and was the first person in history in that time frame. No one before and no one after could achieve this, not even the legendary Immortal emperor Ze Yu could compare.

Lu Ming’s eyes turned and searched hard for the location of that spiritual spring in his memory. If he could search for the spiritual spring first, it will be of great benefit to his future cultivation path.

Lu Ming began to sweat, was this one of a transmigrate person’s hang-ups? Although there is a sense of robbing the protagonist’s golden finger…

The idea of this, Lu Ming could not help but smile, eyebrows suddenly stretched open, clear eyes as if a good diamond, the looked like a warm sun.

The child at the side saw Lu Ming’s self-conscious smile and could not help but look dumbfounded. It was only after a long time that he said, “Young master, you look so pretty when you smile.”

Lu Ming’s smile stopped and he reached out and heavily slapped the child’s head. The child immediately grimaced in pain, he looked at Lu Ming with tears in his eyes. Lu Ming said helplessly, “It’s not good to describe a man like that. And, don’t you have to pick firewood to sell to the He Palace? What are you doing sitting around here?”

The boy said, “I was just going to go, but I got lost. Those people said they were leading the way for me, but for no reason they brought me here and forced me to hand over the spirit stone chain around my neck.

Lu Ming then noticed the ice blue spirit stones necklace around the child’s neck. The style of the necklace looked very ordinary, but the chain vaguely emitted a dark luster, but also looked very special. It was no wonder that the group of boys suddenly became mischievous. This necklace was not ordinary.

Lu Ming frowned slightly, for some reason, a strange thought suddenly flashed in his brain, but soon disappeared. When he tried to search his memory, he ultimately found nothing.

People should just behave decently towards others, regardless of their station in life, or in this case, abilities. Those horrible lads obviously have the same kind of parents as HQQ, and end up spoilt, entitled and cruel.
LM/HQC’s spiritual root is recovered?! Excellent ~ now the fun can begin.
Is LM thinking this child is San Wusheng?… I am.
Thank you both for the chapter and T/N.
