Jin Xuan followed the faint but sweet scent and found an exquisite small villa. Hesitating for two seconds in front of the white fence gate, he pushed it open and walked into the courtyard.
The rain had intensified slightly, with dense raindrops washing the air. A faint smell of vinegar permeated the surroundings, sharp and overwhelming, almost completely masking the already extremely faint guide pheromones. But Jin Xuan still keenly caught it. There was no way around it; their compatibility was too high. Even if only a molecule of scent leaked out, he could easily discern it without hesitation.
Raindrops fell lightly on the grass, producing a soft rustling sound, yet the villa remained silent. Jin Xuan listened intently for a moment and then summoned his quantum beast with his consciousnessāa Barbary lion with golden brown fur.
The Barbary lion communicated with him through their shared compatibility, appearing somewhat excited due to sensing the compatible guide. It emitted a pleased rumble at his feet. With a command from Jin Xuan, it immediately stretched its long body and leaped gently into the villa.
Jin Xuan closed his eyes and “scanned” the interior of the villa through the sense link with his quantum beastāliving room, dining room, kitchen… Finally, he detected a faint light in the refrigerator. It was an underage guide; if it weren’t for estrus, he wouldn’t have been able to smell his scent at all. The child’s consciousness cloud was very powerful, but due to the lack of proper care during estrus, it was tangled like a ball of yarn scratched by a cat, unable to unravel a single neat thread.
This was very dangerous; left unchecked, it could potentially harm the brain and central nervous system… Jin Xuan hesitated for a moment, debating whether to immediately call for help from specialized guide doctors to take care of him. But in just a moment, he overturned the ideaāthis child had spread so much vinegar, obviously not wanting to be discovered. As a sentinel who was 100% compatible with him, Jin Xuan felt it was his responsibility to keep his secret.
Even if he were to send him to a guide school, he should first consult the child’s opinion. That’s the difference between someone with no scruples and, oh wait, a non-mainstream artist and soldier.
Jin Xuan approached the villa’s gate, opened his right hand, activated his personal terminal, and quickly began to crack the opponent’s access code. The Barbary lion apparently also sensed the weakness of the guide inside and ran out of the villa. It anxiously hovered around its master, emitting low rumbles.
Jin Xuan knew it was reminding him that the guide in the refrigerator was about to collapse.
“Don’t worry, it won’t be late… Damn, this password is encrypted sixfold and even uses dual DNA calibration.” Jin Xuan’s slender left hand moved swiftly on the palm-sized holographic screen, performing various gestures that were dizzying. He activated one homemade decryption software after another, and finally, after five minutes, he heard a “ding,” and the access control opened.
“Perfect.” Jin Xuan put away the terminal, clasped his hands lightly to his lips, a smile devoid of scruples appearing on his lips. He muttered, “Would this count as trespassing? Will he blame me when he wakes up… Well, it doesn’t matter, I’ll blame him too.”Ā
Then he walked in without hesitation. With a click, the door closed behind him. Jin Xuan wrinkled his brow at the pungent smell of vinegar assaulting him, but at the same time, he caught the scent of pheromones mixed in it, much clearer than outside. As he entered the kitchen, the smell intensified, especially near the refrigerator, unbelievably sweet.
“Perhaps I should take a dose of balancer first.” Jin Xuan stood in front of the refrigerator, muttering to himself. He reached for the handle but withdrew his hand. He wasn’t sure if he could maintain his composure in front of a 100% compatible guide and refrain from doing anything harmful to him. So he took out a medicine box from his coat pocket and injected himself with a dose of balancer into his jugular vein.
Waiting quietly for three minutes, he gently opened the refrigerator door. An incredible, intoxicating scent surged out, engulfing his entire being and consciousness completely! It was a sweet, unforgettable aroma, not the kind of sweetness of sugar or honey, but warm and clean, like sunlight on a quilt or the juice flowing from a freshly cut cucumber, clear and refreshing, full of healing power. Even if only a molecule was smelled, it would intoxicate someone, wanting to smell more, and more.
Jin Xuan’s pride in his self-control for twenty-four years collapsed instantly. Even though he had just injected himself with a balancer, a faint red mist immediately rose in his eyes. He involuntarily stepped back, step by step, until his heel touched a table, then he stopped.
“Calm down! Don’t touch him, not now, can’t hurt him!” Jin Xuan murmured to himself, using all his strength to control himself from immediately pouncing on him to mark him, then tremblingly took out a balancer to inject himself again. This was the first time in his life that he had used drugs excessively to control his mania. It was unprecedented.
Thirty seconds later, the red mist faded from his eyes, and he felt a bit more alert. He picked up the spray bottle at his feet, sprayed the remaining diluted vinegar around, completely surrounding himself with the pungent smell, then took a deep breath and approached the refrigerator again.
A slender young man curled up at the bottom of the refrigerator, naked. Because he had been in the cold for too long, even a thin layer of frost had formed on his delicate, fair skin. There were even two patches of fever-induced redness on his cheeks.
He looked no more than seventeen, maybe younger, with long, slender limbs and a thin chest with only a thin layer of muscle. But his proportions were perfect, like a young antelope not yet fully grown, exuding a lively and graceful charm. His hair was very beautiful, black and shiny, neatly trimmed, with a few strands covering his forehead, revealing a pair of long eyelashes at the ends, gently covering his lower eyelids, leaving a faint shadow.
The Barbary lion purred excitedly, circling around him. Jin Xuan knew it was looking for his quantum beast. But strangely, there was nothing aroundāno common cats, dogs, squirrels… even raccoonsānothing at all.
“Don’t worry, maybe it’s just scared of you and staying far away,” Jin Xuan comforted his quantum beast. “You’re too big, and your face looks too fierce. Sometimes even I don’t want to see you.”
The lion looked at its master blankly, a little unsure if it was being comforted or mocked.
Jin Xuan ignored his little companion, reached into the refrigerator, took out a thermos, and opened it. Inside were two light blue vials of medicine. Without a doubt, they were soothing agents prepared by the guide for himself, but he hadn’t been able to finish injecting them due to the severe estrus.
No wonder his consciousness cloud was so chaotic. Jin Xuan loaded the medicine into a syringe, supported the young man’s head, and injected it into his jugular vein. When the needle pierced in, the young man spasmed, as if it hurt a lot. His thin lips twitched slightly, which was heart-wrenching.
Judging from his body temperature, the estrus was almost over. It might not be good to stay in such a cold place any longer. Jin Xuan hesitated for a moment, then reached out and lifted the young man out of the refrigerator. To avoid burdening his overly sensitive skin, he tried to be as gentle and careful as possible, but even so, the person in his arms deeply furrowed his brow.
He was too delicate, like porcelain, easily shattered with a light touch. Jin Xuan pursed his lips. But considering the vinegar in the spray bottle, the homemade soothing agent in the thermos, and the fully enclosed space (refrigerator), he felt that this child was incredibly clever, and had superhuman endurance.
There was no suitable place in the living room to put him down. Jin Xuan carried his guide, or rather, the guide he discoveredāwell, they were the same in his eyesāupstairs to find a comfortable bedroom and gently placed him on the bed.
Although it was a rainy day, the temperature was still a bit high for an estrus guide. Jin Xuan invaded the house’s main control system with his personal terminal, adjusted the bedroom’s temperature to eight degrees, and then found an ultrasonic body cleanser in the bathroom to clean the small guide. His Barbary lion tirelessly roamed around the villa, looking for the supposedly very timid quantum beast, and after finding nothing, unhappily ran to the bathroom, adjusted its expression to be as kind as possible in front of the mirror, and continued searching.
Still, it didn’t find anything.
“Maybe it’s a flea,” Jin Xuan comforted his little companion again. “Maybe you should shake your mane, and it will fall off.”
The lion looked at its master blankly, still unable to figure out if it was being comforted or mocked. But soon it stopped worrying about that because it saw a stream of crimson liquid flowing from its master’s nostrils. As a kind quantum beast, it immediately gave its master a hintālicked its own nose.
Jin Xuan communicated with it through thoughts, touched his upper lip, and was surprised to find himself bleeding from the nose.
“Oh, shit!” he cursed softly, rushing into the bathroom to wash his face and ice his forehead with cold water. But after a few minutes, the nosebleed continued, and it seemed to be getting more and more intense.
“Isn’t this too much? It’s just estrus pheromones… When he becomes an adult in the future and triggers bonding heat, will I explode?” Jin Xuan muttered to himself, feeling his heartbeat accelerating, unable to control the red mist rising in his eyes, and had to inject another dose of balancer.
He felt he had made a big mistake this time, using so much balancer to take care of a guide who wasn’t even his boyfriend yet (though that was inevitable, just a matter of time). It would definitely shorten his life by several days…
Every day of genius is precious! But thinking that everything would be better after they got married, and he wouldn’t need to use a balancer anymore, he felt it was all worth it.
Yes, in the mind of an overly imaginative emo, the guide he discovered = his guide = his boyfriend = his fiancĆ© = his wife = the mother of his child… So when the nosebleed finally stopped, Jin Xuan was already fantasizing about their wedding.
Walking out of the bathroom, Jin Xuan was surprised to find that his guide had awakened, weakly staring at the ceiling. Jin Xuan wasn’t sure if he was really awake or just unconsciously opening his eyes. He approached cautiously and whispered, “Hey?”
The young man’s thin ears twitched slightly, then he struggled to move his neck, his big black eyes facing Jin Xuan’s direction without focus, obviously not seeing him.
“Wu… Wu Chenghe?” Jin Xuan remembered the name on his tie and called softly. Sure enough, he saw his pupils shrink slightly, showing a hint of clarity.
Great, it seemed he was recovering, and the estrus should be over soon, Jin Xuan thought relievedly. However, the situation took a sharp turn the next second. When Jin Xuan approached him to ask how he was feeling, this guide named Wu Chenghe immediately leaped up from the bed and grabbed the metal thermos on the bedside table, fiercely throwing it at Jin Xuan.
“Oh!” Jin Xuan exclaimed, and the nosebleed that had just stopped immediately gushed out again.

Heh š š Heh š Sounds like the young me! Whenever I see a guy jog past my windowā¦.I have already imagined wildly that we already had great bonkies bonkiesā¦got married š¤£š¤£š¤£
Tragic that Barbary Lions were hunted to extinction in the wild, and are only now found in zoos, where breeding programmes have saved the species.
I’m loving King/Jin Xuan, and his quantum beast, already!
Desperate for Wu Chenghe’s beast to be introduced to us. Looking at the artwork, will it be a butterfly? Coming from an egg though? š¤
