Chapter 192: Winter Point

Translated by Karai of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Addis

In the livestream, the battle for the Winter point became the new focal point.

[What the heck???] [Black Tortoise can be played like this!?] [Suddenly, it makes sense why they brought four summoners…]

Miaoshou Kongkong, seeing this situation, slowed down his commentary, “Abyss faction hasn’t given up defending the Winter point. They’ve employed the standard configuration of summoners and warriors, setting up a series of Giant Mountain Shields to protect the Winter God point’s boss.”

[Wait a minute… is it just me, or does it feel like the boss’s health is decreasing slower?] [It’s because there are too many warriors and healers.] [But I saw posts on the forums saying that all-defense teams aren’t suitable for defending points! Yet Abyss’s defense team seems to handle it well!]

“The reason Abyss can defend the point is because of their profession,” Shenye Tangtou continued explaining. “Did you see? They used four summoners to compensate for the mobility of the warriors and also employed clerics skilled in group healing and support to balance things out.”

The attacking players needed to kill the boss at the point, while the defending players needed to protect the boss.

Protecting the boss meant treating the boss as an ally. The boss could receive defensive boosts and healing from the defending players, which was generally not very noticeable against the boss’s large health pool. Usually, defending teams chose a balance of offense and defense to match the opposing team, but warriors and healers had limited ability to protect the boss.

The defending team could only defend passively, meaning they couldn’t defeat Eclipse’s players.

Eclipse faction aimed to use rapid, ranged output to kite the boss, creating enough distance to avoid the defense while pulling the boss out of the healer’s range, thus allowing them to gradually wear down the boss.

This was their plan, but they didn’t anticipate that the enemy would use the summoner’s Black Tortoise to create a mobile shield for the boss, with the opposing healers being clerics who relied on summons to heal. Under normal circumstances, if warriors wanted to protect the boss with shields, they could continue their attack as long as they pulled the boss out of the shield’s range. However, no matter how they pulled, as long as the line with the Black Tortoise was intact, the shield on the boss remained mobile.

The Giant Mountain Shield of high-defense warriors depended on their health and defense. As long as the shield wasn’t broken, the boss had the same defensive power as the warriors.

Wen Ding Tian Xia said, “We need to take down the summoner.”

“It’s hard to kill the summoner,” Miao Shou Kong Kong responded. “The warriors on Black Tortoise provide dedicated healing protection. The summoner is surrounded by warriors and healers, and their defensive team has almost entirely focused on protecting the summoner and the warriors, leaving other outputs to fend for themselves. To kill the summoner, we first need to take out the warriors protecting him.”

So, it had once again become necessary to fight through the defenses.

Eclipse faction’s plan to bypass the warriors and healers had completely fallen apart.

“But it’s not a big problem,” Shen Ye Tang Tou said. “Abyss’s strategy increases the boss’s defense to delay time, but Eclipse’s firepower is still strong. It just makes the fight against the boss a bit slower, but they will still manage to wear down the boss.”

[It’s just that the fight is slow… It’s so annoying, Black Tortoise pulling the boss and applying shields. I can already foresee the rise of defensive teams in future faction wars.]

[There are more summoner players now. Momo really expanded the employment opportunities for summoners by himself.]

[Honestly, seeing this makes me want to play summoner too. So many summoned creatures, isn’t that appealing? It’s hard to master, but with more practice, anyone can get it.]

[Archdemon, when will you release a summoner guide? I want to learn.]

[Feasibility of a full-tank summoner (thinking)]

[Come on, above, can you give up on that idea? Summoners are already annoying enough, and now you want to make it full-tank!]

[Wait, we’re off-topic. If Abyss faction keeps dragging this out, will they be able to hold on until reinforcements arrive? The boss at the autumn point has already been killed.]

“To turn around the disadvantage at the winter point, Abyss faction will likely start teleporting,” Shen Ye Tang Tou said as he looked at the resource consumption on both sides. Abyss faction’s resources were still higher than Eclipse’s, but Eclipse was clearly more skilled in resource management. At the beginning of the skirmish, Eclipse’s resources had lagged significantly, but now the resource gap between the two sides had been gradually narrowing.

Opening teleportation points was the most resource-intensive method, as it involved faction-wide movement. If Abyss faction started teleporting at this moment, their resources would likely be on par with Eclipse’s, and the advantage gained in the resource war would be lost.

Miao Shou Kong Kong said, “If there is to be a rescue, it can only be the people at the autumn point. But now the number of people at the autumn point…”

He was cut off as he noticed the decreasing numbers at the autumn point’s battle area. “Wait!? The number of people at the autumn point has decreased.”

Shen Ye Tang Tou immediately said, “Switch the camera to the autumn point!”

The live stream camera quickly focused on the autumn point’s battle. The autumn boss, Autumn God, had been killed, leaving Abyss faction to hold the autumn point for 15 minutes until the stone tablet changed color. Currently, there were about three teams remaining at the stone tablet’s vicinity, while nearly two teams had charged into the Eclipse faction’s crowd, with their health rapidly diminishing.

Shen Ye Tang Tou’s pupils narrowed. “Wait, their healers aren’t healing the front line.”

[Abyss faction has gone mad! They just took down the boss, and now they’re throwing it away!]

[Are they trying to throw away the game?!]

[I suddenly remembered, was Abyss’s binding respawn point at the winter point?]

[It seems so… Is the resource consumption for player deaths more than for teleportation points?]

[Of course, teleportation points consume more resources. The resource cost for deaths isn’t… Wait, seriously?]

“They’re actively throwing the game.”

Shen Ye Tang Tou was shocked. No wonder their respawn point had been set at winter from the start.

Eclipse was about to make a comeback.

***

Winter Point.

Four Black Tortoises, accompanied by eight high-defense warriors, were dragging the boss around. ChatMasterWu felt no joy in bossing down the boss; instead, he experienced the frustration of being unable to make any headway due to the continuous Mountain Shields from the warriors. The Abyss faction players who remained at the winter point were already a nuisance with their high meatiness. He had chosen to avoid these meat shields and target the squishier ones, but he hadn’t expected to be bogged down by so many warriors while trying to take down the boss.

Wasn’t it supposed to be possible to avoid them?

Wasn’t it said that warriors had slow movement speeds?

ChatMasterWu said, “When will the absurd summoner Black Tortoise setup be fixed!? Didn’t the developers think that the Black Tortoise line-drawing setup was a bit ridiculous?”

“According to official data, summoners are still the least numerous profession overall,” CloudTraveller said. “The likelihood of them being nerfed is low. They haven’t set up a teleportation point yet. Instead of focusing on summoners, we should try to take down their warriors on the Black Tortoises and prevent them from using them.”

ChatMasterWu was dragging the boss, trying to give his rear allies a chance to output. At that moment, he was suddenly struck by two swift blows from an assassin and was forced to step back. He saw the female assassin’s figure intermittently appearing through the cleric’s summons. He recognized her as the skilled player from momo’s regular team.

“They’ve got assassins respawning again,” ChatMasterWu said. “Split into a few teams and send marksmen to block their respawn points. Don’t let the assassins cause trouble.”

After giving the order, people quickly went to block the respawn points. At that moment, ChatMasterWu suddenly realized something: Wait, was this female assassin part of the earlier skirmishes?

There weren’t many assassins left at the winter point. From their recent clashes, he estimated there were about half a team’s worth of assassins, and he had encountered most of them… But if ZenSlasher, whom he recognized, was among them, he should have remembered encountering her earlier.

In the Abyss command channel, the overall commander, momo, was monitoring the numbers, giving concise instructions.

“Two small teams, respawn and check the situation.”

“Others, wait.”

“Report when the entire team is wiped.”

Soon, the two team leaders reported.

“Team 14 is completely wiped out.”

“The assassin team is down.”

As a result, the number of people at the Autumn God point sharply decreased. In front of all the players who had died in the Abyss faction, a 60-second countdown box for choosing a respawn point appeared, with the option for distant respawn points displaying “0 resource consumption” prominently.

momo’s peripheral vision shifted to the changes in numbers. “Everyone, get ready. 3, 2, 1! All members respawn, warriors, activate your shields!”

All the deceased players quickly chose their bound respawn points, and a multitude of Abyss players suddenly appeared at the scattered points in the Winter God location. The marksman squads sent to block the assassins, upon seeing the large group of respawned players, were overwhelmed and crushed by the revived Abyss forces before they could even report back to their teams.

“Damn it!!”

“ChatMasterWu!! There’s an ambush!”

“Abyss’s distant respawn point isn’t at Spring; it’s at Winter!!”

The urgent reports flooded the voice channel, and ChatMasterWu was stunned, momentarily halting his movements. He looked toward the direction of the respawn points and saw Abyss’s large force emerging from the respawn point’s fork, pushing their own large force outward and heading straight for the boss.

“Focus all efforts on the boss! Kill the boss first!”

“Damn, they brought too many people!”

“Still pressure them, don’t fight the warriors, marksmen, focus on the assassins.”

“Respawned players, use the nearest respawn points, and have everyone come over.”

“Move quickly.”

The four teams of the Eclipse faction faced this new wave, and after the Abyss faction regrouped and respawned, they also became four teams. This included the main team 14 from the Autumn God point and one and a half assassin teams that had previously withdrawn. They instantly made up for the lack of combat power at the Winter God point and began clearing out the Abyss faction members who had pushed up to the vicinity of the boss’s stone monument.

Under the pressure from the large enemy force, ChatMasterWu had pulled the boss too far away.

The deputy leader said, “ChatMasterWu, watch the distance, don’t let it slip away!”

Although the boss was pulled a considerable distance, it wasn’t impossible to pull it further. The enemy’s goal was clearly to force them out of the cave. ChatMasterWu performed extreme maneuvers, coordinating with his teammates to continue applying pressure on the boss’s health. While the enemy forces appeared numerous at first glance, they weren’t unbeatable. As long as they could hold their ground, there was still a chance to kill the boss.

After all, the Winter God boss’s health was only at 20% remaining; they just needed to hold on a little longer.

But they couldn’t remain passive. They needed to find a safer spot to deal damage.

“Everyone move to the ice cave on the left, warriors, take the front line and provide protection. We’ll pull the assassins to the corner and take them down.” ChatMasterWu, maneuvering under the control of others, moved towards the designated ice cave. Perhaps it was the frustration of the faction battles and the unfairness of fighting as a melee fighter that fueled him. As the master assassin, his nimble movements were pushed to their limits. He managed to escape from the control of the large Abyss force and directed the Winter God boss towards the agreed-upon ice cave with his teammates.

“Fuck!!”

“ChatMasterWu is amazing!!”

“Go, ChatMasterWu! You’re the hope of the entire team!!”

“Master, you’re the best!!!”

Just as he was on the verge of success, a figure suddenly emerged from the left. When he was about 10 meters away from the ice cave, a close-range knockback hit him hard.

“I’m hitting!”

With a sudden shout in the Vicinity voice channel and the 100% effective knockback from a physical swordsman, ChatMasterWu felt himself fly through the air in that instant. His mind went blank, and by the time he regained his senses, he saw the Winter God boss, which had been closely following him, abandoning him like a heartless bastard, turning away without a backward glance.

The boss’s health jumped from 18% back to 100%, returning to the protective circle of the Abyss army.

The culprit behind this disaster was none other than a physical swordsman with the ID ‘ClearWindIsHere’.

The Eclipse team, eagerly awaiting to applaud at the ice cave, was left stunned.

ChatMasterWu was speechless.

In the joint voice channel of the Abyss army defending the Winter base:

ScarletFruit was excited, “Oh my god!! ClearWind, that sword of yours was incredible! How did you pull that off?!”

“A divine sword strike!”

“That was amazing. I saw ChatMasterWu get sent flying, and the boss got pulled out of range.”

“Isn’t the physical swordsman’s knockback limit supposed to be 5 meters?”

“Easy peasy. It was worth all the time I spent waiting. That was my quest skill [One Step Back, Thousand Miles], which enhances the knockback effect of physical swordsman skills by x3. Impressive, right?” ClearWind, who had come over from the Autumn base with the 14th team, was full of confidence. With the x3 effect, the knockback was 15 meters. “I specifically aimed for the angle. As long as I hit, it would definitely push the boss out of range.”

FireworksAndLanterns said, “That was impressive! I thought we wouldn’t be able to stop ChatMasterWu. His positioning was really tricky.”

“Not that amazing,” Watermelon replied expressionlessly. “If he had been smarter, he wouldn’t have taken the long route but called the main force over to that corner. And with so many being dispersed, getting controlled was just a rookie mistake.”

ClearWind asked, “Is that so? I was shocked when I saw him running out of the main force.”

Watermelon said, “Of course. Did you see how many healers were trying to heal him?”

ScarletFruit said, “There were quite a few, maybe 5 or 6.”

Watermelon replied, “Oh, there were only 3 last week.”

“Yeah! Our assassin team was really strong when they stole the Spring base last week.”

“Watermelon was the first to pull the boss. There was no one better at pulling monsters than him.”

The live stream also caught this moment. ClearWindIsHere’s sword strike had an impressive impact. ChatMasterWu, who had been knocked away, was very conspicuous, and the boss being pulled out of range was also quite noticeable. It was a real shame that the boss, with just about 18% health remaining, was pushed out due to that knockback. ChatMasterWu’s positioning had been quite safe, but no one expected a physical swordsman hiding in the corner just to land such a knockback strike.

[fuck!? Which physical swordsman is such a newbie!?]

[ChatMasterWu had survived so many knockbacks from physical swordsmen, and he ended up dying to one.]

[Didn’t see clearly.]

[That must be a quest skill. I thought Eclipse could kill the boss, but it was knocked back by a single strike!?]

[They’re still pressuring.]

The Eclipse faction hadn’t given up. After the boss was knocked back, their respawned players caught up and continued to apply pressure on the Winter base. A new round of clashes erupted outside the Winter base, with both sides fiercely fighting. Eclipse even sent a team from the Autumn base, showing their determination to take the Winter base.

Just as everyone’s attention was focused on the Winter base, a new message suddenly appeared:

—[Faction·Capture: [Spring God] is being fiercely attacked by the Eclipse faction!]

The Eclipse faction had reached the Spring God.

***

[fuck! The Midnight Bell’s team pushed in!]

[This push was really fast. Were they waiting for the right moment!?]

[The Spring God has been reached!]

MiaoShouKongKong switched perspectives, saying, “The Eclipse faction has pushed into the Spring base. They’ve seized the boss, and the boss is being pulled out.”

“Abyss faction is still losing players. Aren’t they planning to provide support?” WendiTianxia asked. “The Spring and Summer bases are not far apart. If they set up a teleport point now, they could immediately support and save the situation. The difference in numbers isn’t that large, and support could easily turn the tide.”

[Right, the Spring and Summer bases are close, and the resource cost for teleporting is less than it is for Winter.]

[Abyss is still ahead in resources and could definitely provide support.]

[I think so too. Why isn’t momo providing support?]

ShenYeTangTou explained the situation, “Abyss isn’t avoiding support but is unable to provide it. Their team distribution has been completely locked into their current position by CloudTraveller. If they were to move to support the Spring base now, they would never be able to secure the Summer base.”

The Eclipse faction did not abandon their pursuit of other bases due to the loss at the Winter base. The Spring God base had long been a regular base for Eclipse. For Eclipse, which had fewer healers, the healing buffs could play a crucial role in many situations. Over the past few days of resource wars, they had also realized the exceptional strength of Abyss’s healing buffs and understood their own hesitation in profession distribution after losing the healing buffs.

Celestial Horizon’s professions didn’t have absolute strengths or weaknesses. In both PvP and PvE scenarios, healing was a crucial component for a team’s sustainability. Typically, the Midnight Bell led offensive teams, but this time CloudTraveller had deliberately assigned him to the Spring base with a different strategy in mind. The offensive prowess of Midnight Bell could be better utilized in the Spring map.

Both healing and defensive buffs were within their target range, but if a choice had to be made, CloudTraveller preferred to focus on the Spring base. Many of his arrangements leaned towards the Spring and Summer bases, such as setting the binding respawn point at the Summer base for rapid support and coordination between Spring and Summer. For instance, while ChatMasterWu defended the Winter base, CloudTraveller allocated marksmen and other professions to the Spring base…

He had always operated on a three-line strategy, with emphasis on Spring, Summer, and Winter. This arrangement might have seemed overly defensive and lacking in sharpness to outsiders, with a slow operation of faction resources and base coordination. But at this critical moment, this very strategy proved to be exceptionally effective.

When the Autumn base was taken, he remained calm and initiated simultaneous attacks on the Spring and Winter bases.

When the Winter base boss was driven away, he did not panic. Instead, he redirected one of the Autumn base’s teams to continue applying pressure on the Winter base.

This seemingly futile effort continuously pressured the Abyss faction without them realizing it. With only three teams left in Autumn base fighting three enemy teams, BrokenOracle had to stay to defend the Autumn base and couldn’t spare any additional forces. The Winter base became evenly matched with the addition of another team from Autumn base. Both sides were locked in a stalemate, leading to an ongoing war of attrition at the Winter base.

The Abyss faction’s Spring base was left isolated and unsupported.

If CloudTraveller had any doubts before, he had none now. When momo chose to use the binding respawn points, he no longer had any concerns. Since the binding points were not located at the Spring base, momo would not reallocate troops at this time. The Spring base could be fully utilized for attacks because the Abyss faction could not provide rescue.

Once the Autumn base was fully occupied, it lost its strategic significance. No further resources would be wasted at the Autumn base, and all subsequent skirmishes would erupt at the Spring, Summer, and Winter bases. momo would not divide the forces currently at Autumn and Winter bases, nor would he split those at the Summer base.

“If the Summer base forces are reduced, they would face a counterattack from Eclipse’s defending troops at the Summer base, as well as a potential encirclement from the Autumn base’s returning teams,” said Late Night Permed Head. “The Spring base will likely be lost, and the Abyss faction may not have the upper hand. They might face encirclement.”

Spring and Autumn bases had Eclipse teams, and the Spring base was currently contested.

The disadvantage of having respawn points at Winter base had also become evident. Their speed to support the Spring and Summer bases had slowed, and eventually, they would have to set up a teleportation point, which would result in terrifying resource consumption.

All of this had been factored into CloudTraveller’s calculations.

Within the Abyss faction, the resistance at Winter base grew increasingly intense. The Eclipse faction was clearly determined to fight to the death with the defenders at Winter base, completely tying down the teams stationed there.

“We can’t move anyone out; they’ll be overrun by ChatMasterWu’s team,” Bitter Melon said quickly. “Are we really going to give up on the Spring base?”

“We can’t reclaim Spring; they know the Spring base better than I do. Many routes have been blocked off,” Old Banana responded. Despite continued resistance, their team had clearly been at a disadvantage after being crushed once, making it extremely difficult to make adjustments. Their original defensive perimeter was essentially gone.

Su Mo had expected the Spring base to hold out a bit longer, but in reality, the Eclipse faction’s assault teams were much stronger than he had anticipated. Even if they could hold out for another 5 minutes, it would be enough time to wait for reinforcements from the Autumn base.

CloudTraveller had a better grasp of resource control. Similarly, he skillfully used team and resource buffs to apply pressure, and this counter-pressure was locking down their critical points.

“Spring base can’t be defended,” BrokenOracle said.

“Spring base can’t be held, and our people can’t withdraw either,” Haitang added.

If the Spring base boss was killed, there would still be 15 minutes of retaliation time. They needed to keep an eye on Eclipse’s large forces to prevent other bases from falling into a passive situation.

Yu Zhen said, “The teams at Spring and Winter can’t move anymore; the teams at Summer and Autumn need to converge for a siege.”

With the convergence and siege, their Summer base was also in danger. Should they use buffs or set up teleportation?

All the commanders were caught in a dilemma. Securing the Autumn base had made them overly confident, and losing the Spring base was a sign of their underestimation of CloudTraveller’s strength.

“However, it’s not a big deal. This week, we’ve taken Autumn and Winter.”

“Just hold steady. The control buffs from Autumn are useful, and the Autumn-Winter buffs are good too.”

“Then we won’t take any risks…”

At that moment, the overall commander momo suddenly spoke up, “Who said we’re giving up on the Summer base?”

His tone was calm but carried a unique determination, “Give up the Spring base, we’ll take the Summer base.”

As time ticked by, it quickly became 10 PM. The number of people in the livestream increased, and the faction battle for dominance entered its climax. Abyss faction had taken the Autumn base, and Eclipse faction had quickly followed by taking the Spring base. Both sides now held one base each, and the contention for the Summer and Winter bases grew increasingly intense.

At exactly 10 PM, the faction battle for the Capital Planet’s side quests had only the final two bases left to contest.

Miao Shou Kong Kong routinely summarized the current situation, “Currently, the point grabbing is focused on the Summer and Winter bases. The main force of Eclipse faction, led by Ye Ban Zhong Sheng, had moved from the Spring base to the Winter base, followed closely by Abyss faction. The teams from both sides had entered the main routes leading to the Summer base from the Autumn base.”

Wen Ding Tian Xia said, “The current team configurations are as follows: at the Summer base, Abyss has 12 teams, and Eclipse has 11 teams. At the Winter base, Eclipse has 9 teams, and Abyss has 8 teams. Both sides are employing a strategy of attacking from two fronts. The next change in base control will become the decisive point for this faction battle.”

“As for the resource situation, Abyss holds a resource advantage, but the gap between the two sides is not significant,” Miao Shou Kong Kong continued. “The clash at the Winter base is taking place in the Ice Map’s cave passages, while the clash at the Summer base is occurring in the Summer Map’s forest.”

The Summer base, known for having the most tempting attack buffs among all faction buffs, was surrounded by forests and mountains. The forest in the Summer Map had obstacles like trees and slopes. The trees were not as tall as those in the Autumn base, making acrobatic leaps and large movements more prominent. Additionally, the area was surrounded by mountains, with the shortest path being a main route flanked by two tall mountains, making it the first difficult-to-attack checkpoint.

Beyond the cover of the mountains and forests was a lake.

The lake was vast, reminiscent of the lake in the Soul Departure Secret Realm, but with a key difference: this lake was surrounded by towering mountains, with two-thirds of the area being sheer rock faces, encircling the lake in the center.

The mountains at this location were steep and high, making it difficult to climb with light skills. The bare rock faces would immediately expose any player attempting to climb. The Summer base’s Summer God boss was situated in a small pavilion on the lake near the mountain wall.

“The Summer base had the most significant changes,” Shen Ye Tang Tou explained to the viewers in the livestream. “Its area was extensive, unlike the Winter base’s straightforward cave passage. But the entrance was narrow, and once inside, it opened up.”

“There were also the most obstacles in this map. For example, to approach the Summer God, one would need to navigate the lake’s surface with slowing effects.”

“So, it’s hard to drag the boss at the Summer base?” Miao Shou Kong Kong asked. “I remember that in previous faction battles, one side used momo’s common method of floating with Black Tortoise. Can’t this method be used to drag the boss?”

Shen Ye Tang Tou replied, “It’s difficult to drag the boss. Those who tried to drag the boss didn’t manage to cover much distance before being knocked down. Summoner’s Black Tortoise does have special effects in such scenarios. It’s just that there were too few summoners in the top 30% of the faction before the battle. The allocation for the grab battles was based on the top 30% of resource battle performance. The number of summoner players was inherently low. Did you not see Abyss faction’s setup? Even with their resources, they only managed to assemble 20 summoners for this faction battle.”

[I had just been looking at the list too.]

[There were too few summoners in the summoner sect, with even the clerics outnumbering them.]

[Abyss faction had a few summoners stuck on the 30% edge, which made their battle strength somewhat lacking.]

[The lake surface was so vast, and with so many people at the Summer base, relying on 20 summoners to turn the tide was impossible. Black Tortoise could only smartly carry 2 people at a time. With 20 summoners, they could only ensure the displacement of 40 people, and there were only about fifteen or sixteen summoners at the Summer base.]

[How much impact could 20 summoners have in a team of 12? Many of their frontline professions had been shifted to the Winter base, making it very difficult to exert pressure here.]

[Oh right, Abyss had fewer front-line fighters but more mages.]

[The mages are indeed strong, but it’s hard to say in the Summer base. That place needs close combat to open the way.]

“If Abyss faction wanted to get in, they would have to rely entirely on firepower to push through, to the point of killing the boss next to the pavilion and holding it.” Shen Ye Tang Tou said, “But the premise is that they need to get in, and the paths there are not easy to break through. Don’t forget, CloudTraveller had been holding the Summer base with a smaller number of teams, and he calculated it precisely.”

Compared to the back-and-forth tug-of-war at the Winter base, the battlefield at the Summer base clearly drew more attention. Abyss faction’s main force, in the previous second’s struggle, entered the main road’s junction. They were not far from the lake but were only positioned outside the lake.Eclipse faction’s defense was extremely robust. Most of their warriors were stationed here, guarding about one-third of the lake’s entrance. Just as everyone thought it would be difficult for Abyss faction to press into the Summer base, Abyss faction was undergoing adjustments.

The 12 teams stationed at the Summer base were restructured, forming teams with distinct professions, such as Doaist priest teams, mage teams, and magical swordsman teams. They also created melee teams with a mix of warriors, physical swordsmen, and assassins, while mobile teams became marksmen. Healers and clerics were split up and evenly distributed among these teams.

“Are the teams restructured?” momo asked.

Hai Tang replied, “The teams are being restructured. You saw the routes we checked earlier. We didn’t notice that small path before, but it turned out that the assassins could indeed use it, though only along the edge of the lake.”

Aside from restructuring the teams, momo also showed all the commanders the terrain of the Summer base Vicinity he had investigated the previous week. The mountain walls inside the lake were confirmed to be unclimbable, leaving only the front as the accessible route. The position momo pointed out was a small hill not far from the entrance. Although the hill was not very high, it was sufficient for light-footed characters to bypass the front line of Eclipse warriors.

That was only the front line. Due to the height, they would be struck down by long-range professions from above when entering the Eclipse faction’s inner areas. Attempting to use light-footed skills for a surprise attack was too difficult; mountains high enough to avoid were inaccessible, and mountains low enough were constantly at risk of being struck down.

“In such a situation, the best approach is to use melee teams to disrupt their formation. By tearing open a gap, it becomes much easier to attack,” BrokenOracle said. “We’ve used this method when defending the Summer base before. Eclipse excels at using melee professions to create chaos, and it’s indeed very effective. We used this tactic last week, but we had fewer physical swordsmen and warriors in the crowd compared to Eclipse. Often, when we managed to create a gap, it was quickly closed before we could push through.”

CloudTraveller was particularly adept at these tactics. Even though they were familiar with the Summer base, they had no way to handle CloudTraveller’s defense effectively. They had spent too much time and effort on the Summer base over the past two weeks. While defending the Summer base was manageable, attacking it became significantly harder.

Abyss faction had the advantage of more healers. However, their physical swordsmen and marksmen were fewer compared to Eclipse faction, making them better at defense.

Apple said, “If we could have assembled more strong physical swordsmen, would we still be worried about not being able to press through?”

“Eclipse faction doesn’t lack physical swordsmen either. We have the master physical swordsman on our side, but Eclipse faction has more top-ranked physical swordsmen,” BrokenOracle explained. “Not every physical swordsman has the capability to disrupt the crowd effectively. Our warriors have strong endurance, but their melee assault abilities are not as powerful.”

Old Banana said, “How about reallocating the physical swordsmen from the Winter base? ClearWind is quite strong; he was very precise when he fought ChatMasterWu on our side.”

Bitter Melon agreed, “ClearWind is indeed impressive.”

Commander-in-Chief momo said, “It’s fine. There are professions besides physical swordsmen that have assault capabilities. We can use other professions.”

When other professions were mentioned, there was a moment of silence in the command channel.

One Arrow said, “Actually, we could also move the assassin team. Assassins have assault capabilities too; they could go in and create some chaos, then coordinate with physical swordsmen.”

Watermelon was speechless.

“Why not have your marksmen go in? Why are you suggesting us?”

One Arrow replied, “Our marksmen are long-range!”

The physical swordsmen’s leader responded, “…Do you think we physical swordsmen are so casual? We have our dignity too!”

……

“We have an advantage,” Momo said calmly after arranging the teams. “We have plenty of mages.”

BrokenOracle hesitated, “…What do you mean?”

Momo responded, “Let’s use the mages.”

Watermelon quickly agreed, “Sure, I’m fine with that. Mages are great.”

Apple was puzzled, “?”

The mage team leaders, who had been watching the conversation, were now confused, “???”
