Pill Glossary

The following list is for The Legendary Master’s Wife, it includes Pills and Herbs. Any of the following will be a spoiler for those who have not read Volume 1, please be advised of this and take caution when reading. Pills and herbs from Volume 2 and 3 have also been included. This will be updated as the translation continues.

PILLS

Medicinal Pill: Medicinal pills are categorized by tier and designated by upper, middle, and lower grades. [mid-grade third-tier pill]. They are miracle drugs that can boost cultivation, heal wounds, cure poisons, purify or strengthen the body, and other uses not mentioned within this volume.

Bitter pill: Second-tier medicinal pill. Made with sophora root, yellow loosestrife, and silky grass. Used as a stabilizer for practitioners who have recently broken through their levels.

Blue energy pill: Second-tier medicinal pill. A level-two enhancement medicinal pill for practitioners. Enables a temporary boost to the strength of a practitioner. Despite its side effect of causing an hour-long debilitation to its consumer, many practitioners still flocked to it like moths to light.

Detoxification pill: First-tier medicinal pill. Created using the bonesetter herb, the serene flower, and the life root. Used for basic efficacy in countering poisons.

Energy accumulation pill: First-tier medicinal pill. Created using rock jasmine, winter mint, and giant hyssop. This extraordinary pill temporarily amasses spiritual energy within the consumer’s body, unlocking the intricate network of meridians.

Energy aggregation pill: Second-tier medicinal pill. They were a support for low-level practitioners in their breakthroughs.

Fasting pill: First-tier medicinal pill. When ingested, it can stave off hunger for ten days. Twelve different spiritual herbs are needed to craft this pill.

Lunar advancement pill: A fifth-tier medicinal pill. Revered for their ability to enhance the likelihood of attaining the stellar stage. Their absence of adverse effects further elevated their standing, making them the epitome of fifth-tier medicinal pills.

Icy pill: Second-tier medicinal pill. Provides a small boost in power. Generous dosage of the pills is needed to achieve a noticeable result.

Southern dipper pill: Third-tier medicinal pill. It has the enhancement ability, boosting sky-stage practitioners’ strength, albeit in small increments. To achieve a significant power boost, Multiple doses needed to be consumed to achieve a significant power boost and advance by a single star level.

Stellar advancement pill: The pill’s effects mirrored those of the lunar advancement pill, yet it targeted a far greater breakthrough: not the Lunar Stage, but the Stellar Stage. Not only did this pill bore no adverse side effects, but it also had the remarkable ability to solidify one’s practitioner’s stage upon successful ascension. However, there was a catch. The odds of achieving this breakthrough were significantly lower compared to the lunar advancement pill.

Violet cloud pill: A sixth-tier medicinal pill. Able to elevate a practitioner’s strength by one, perhaps even two stars.

 

HERBS

Spiritual herb: A generic term for any plant that has gathered spiritual energy that alchemists can use to make medicinal pills. Spiritual herbs need to go through refinement to be used in a pill. They are categorized by level-one to twelve and designated by upper, middle, and lower grades. [mid-grade level-twelve herb]. 

Ambrosial fruit: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the spiritual energy pill.

Bonesetter herb: Level-one spiritual herb. Green stem and leaves, with a violet bud on top. This spiritual herb is highly effective in treating physical injuries. Used to make the detoxification pill.

Curly kale: Level-two spiritual herb. Used to make the icy pill.

Flame flower: Level-eight spiritual herb. Unlike other lower-grade spiritual herbs, its essence comes from its eight petals. Due to its extreme rarity, only one petal is needed during alchemy. Four petals are required if the Flame Flower is of a lower grade.

Giant hyssop: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the energy accumulation pill.

Goldthorn: Level-seven spiritual herb. The herb emits a captivating golden glow. When touched by sunlight, its radiance is nearly blinding, and caution is advised against gazing directly at it.

Life root: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the detoxification pill.

Long-stalked marsdenia: Level-two spiritual herb. Used to make the icy pill.

Pleiades herb: A level-six spiritual herb with no medicinal properties. It is only used to help the Pleiades stink bug molt into a golden-winged insect. 

Rock jasmine: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the energy accumulation pill.

Seven-leaf flower: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the spiritual energy pill.

Serene flower: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the detoxification pill.

Silky grass: Level-two spiritual herb.

Silversage Mountain herb: Level-three spiritual herb. Used to make the southern dipper pill. 

Sophora root: Level-two spiritual herb. Resembling ordinary ginseng in appearance and exceptionally bitter.

Soul grass: Level-two spiritual herb. Used to make the icy pill.

Withering leaf herb roots: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the spiritual energy pill.

Winter mint: Level-one spiritual herb. Used to make the energy accumulation pill.

Yellow loosestrife: Level-two spiritual herb. Light yellow star-shaped flowering herb.
