Luo Songran stood anxiously outside the operating room. Although Dad had already gone in, he couldn’t help but pace back and forth due to his anxiety. At this moment, his head was pressed down by a large hand.
“Stop, your eyes are spinning from all the walking.”
Luo Songran raised his eyes slightly. He squinted at his cousin, his half-closed eyes staring at him. “I’m not, I’m just anxious, I want to walk.”
Yan Nanchen saw that his complexion didn’t look too good and still wouldn’t sit down, so he simply grabbed the back of his collar and brought him to the chair in front. “Do you really not trust the doctors from Galaxy Hospital now?”
“Don’t hold me!” Luo Songran, considering that they were in a hospital, didn’t dare to speak loudly. He grumbled in a low voice, annoyed, “I’m really annoyed right now. Don’t make me angry, okay?”
“You got annoyed and called me right away?” Yan Nanchen chuckled, looking at his face out of the corner of his eye. This guy hadn’t eaten lunch. Whenever he didn’t eat, his face would look bad because of low blood sugar.
“No, I called 120 first, okay?” Luo Songran glanced at his brother, irritated. “I’m really annoyed right now. Don’t make me angry, okay?”
“And then why did you call me second?”
“Because you were free.”
Yan Nanchen was speechless. He chuckled inwardly, then released his collar and let him sit down. “Take a break. Don’t let Duan Yizhou wake up and see your ugly face.”
Hearing him say this, Luo Songran subconsciously touched his own face. “Ugly face?”
“Have you had lunch yet?” Yan Nanchen asked casually, looking at his complexion out of the corner of his eye. This guy clearly hadn’t eaten, and whenever he didn’t eat, his face looked bad because of low blood sugar.
“No.” Luo Songran sat down dejectedly. He thought of the reason for Duan Yizhou’s estrus period. “How can I eat when I’m so upset? Grandpa went to see Duan Yizhou this morning and told him about me extracting pheromones from my glands for him. He criticized me, and then his estrus period started…”
Yan Nanchen crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair. He chuckled, “Is Duan Yizhou so small-minded?”
Before he could finish his sentence, he was suddenly slapped hard on the thigh by Luo Songran, causing him to gasp in pain and disbelief as he looked at him.
“Don’t talk about him!” Luo Songran glared fiercely at his brother. “He’s much more generous than you. He never bullies me.”
Yan Nanchen took a deep breath and endured this biased comparison. He looked at the ceiling indifferently and said, “Yes, when you have a man, you forget about your family. That’s how it is.”
Luo Songran muttered softly, “Someone will take care of you sooner or later.”
“Master Luo!” At this moment, Jiang Yi’s anxious voice echoed from the end of the corridor. Yan Nanchen reflexively sat up straight, hands resting on his lap, and turned his head to look over with a reserved demeanor. When he saw who it was, a smile flickered in his eyes, but it vanished into an expressionless face as Jiang Yi approached.
Luo Songran’s expression froze momentarily when he saw Jiang Yi approaching, then he remembered Duan Yizhou had instructed him to call Jiang Yi as soon as possible before passing out. “It seems I forgot to call you.”
Jiang Yi stopped, catching his breath, holding a small box in his hand. “Is President Duan experiencing his sensitive period? This sedative contains your pheromones and can temporarily ease his condition.”
Upon hearing this, Luo Songran suddenly understood why Duan Yizhou had asked for Jiang Yi. He felt a bit regretful. “I was too hasty at that time. He did mention to me to call you immediately.”
“How is he now?” Jiang Yi glanced at the emergency room and then noticed the man next to Luo Songran, offering a polite greeting. “President Yan is here too.”
Even though his boyfriend looked exactly like Yan Nanchen, it was still easy to distinguish between them. Their dressing styles and the mole on the tip of the nose differed. Chu Beiheng only had a small mole on his nose, which Yan Nanchen did not have.
Seeing Jiang Yi’s indifferent attitude during the day and his warmth at night, Yan Nanchen felt a tinge of jealousy towards his nighttime self. “Hmm.”
It was all his own fault.
Luo Songran said, “He’s still inside, but my dad is here, so there shouldn’t be any problem.” He looked at Jiang Yi and suddenly remembered the matter of extracting gland pheromones. “By the way, Jiang Yi, did you mention the extraction of gland pheromones to him yourself?”
At this, Jiang Yi’s expression changed slightly, shaking his head lightly. “No, President Duan found out by himself.”
“He didn’t do anything to you, did he?” Luo Songran wondered if Jiang Yi was also partly responsible for this mess.
“It’s fine.” Jiang Yi tugged at his lips, handing the box to Luo Songran. “You keep this, Master Luo. It’s better to have it with you. I’ll head back now.”
“You’re leaving?” Luo Songran frowned. “Aren’t you waiting here for him to come out?”
Naturally, Jiang Yi understood Luo Songran’s implication. “I’m no longer Duan Zong’s assistant. It’s not appropriate for me to wait here. I’ll leave first.” With that, he glanced deeply at the emergency room and then turned to leave.
Yan Nanchen’s gaze followed Jiang Yi’s departing figure until he disappeared from sight. He felt a bit lost; it had only been less than five minutes. Then his expression suddenly darkened. What did Jiang Yi just say? He’s no longer the assistant to Duan Zong? Was he transferred? What was Duan Yizhou up to?
Now he felt like getting up to see Jiang Yi off.
“It must be because Duan Yizhou transferred Jiang Yi.” Luo Songran looked at the white box in his hand, containing the sedative infused with his own pheromones.
“What’s going on?” Yan Nanchen’s expression immediately turned serious. Did Duan Yizhou bully his husband?
Hearing his cousin’s unusually serious tone, Luo Songran glanced at him in surprise, but seeing nothing on his face, he said, “It was when Jiang Yi came to me that day. He said Duan Yizhou had signs of his sensitive period and asked if I had quarreled with him, wondering why Duan Yizhou was in such a bad mood those days.”
“And then?”
“And then I asked if there was any way to help Duan Yizhou ease his condition, and Jiang Yi said we could extract my gland pheromones to help Duan Yizhou. But before I told him about my pregnancy, I hid it, and it wasn’t until halfway through the extraction, when it started to hurt, that I mentioned it. Jiang Yi was shocked.”
Yan Nanchen furrowed his brows, suddenly recalling how Jiang Yi had been visibly worried and sleepless at night recently. Could it be because of this? “So Duan Yizhou transferred him because of this?”
Although this matter was indeed somewhat thoughtless, it wasn’t entirely Jiang Yi’s fault. It was precisely because Jiang Yi cared about his superior that he had overstepped a bit. But it wasn’t such a serious issue that warranted transferring him.
“I don’t know.” Luo Songran also felt a bit guilty. He looked at his cousin. “If that’s the case, Jiang Yi is somewhat wronged.”
“What do you want to do?” Yan Nanchen unexpectedly suggested, “Why not let Jiang Yi come to me?”
Luo Songran looked at his cousin with mixed feelings. “Why would he go to you? Do you need someone?”
The words almost slipped out of Yan Nanchen’s mouth, but he held them back. Indeed, he did need someone, specifically a spouse. “…I don’t need anyone.”
“Then that settles it.” Luo Songran sighed in frustration. “It’s all because I was so unreasonable before, making Duan Yizhou so angry. Now thinking about it, I feel a bit ridiculous.”
“Pregnancy is like that.” Yan Nanchen patted his cousin’s head. “Don’t always blame yourself. Hormones during pregnancy can affect many aspects of you, like emotions and habits. These are things you can’t control and are normal. What you need to do now is to take care of yourself. Even if Duan Yizhou is facing his sensitive period now, there must be a way to resolve such a sudden estrus situation.”
“Bro, are you trying to comfort me?” Luo Songran looked surprised.
Yan Nanchen said, “Aren’t I speaking human?”
Luo Songran shrugged. “It’s the first time I’ve heard you speak like a human.”
Yan Nanchen sneered, “Just pretend I didn’t say anything.”
Luo Songran rolled his eyes. “I told you, you couldn’t speak like a human.”
Yan Nanchen replied, “Throwing tantrums is your fault.”
Luo Songran suddenly sat up straight, frowning and staring at Yan Nanchen. “Wasn’t it you who said that pregnancy is normal?”
Yan Nanchen smiled. “What I said just now wasn’t human language. Don’t take it to heart.”
“Let’s fight,” Luo Songran said.
Yan Nanchen shook his head with a smile. “I won’t bully the weak, sick, and pregnant.”
Luo Songran gritted his teeth in frustration, thinking to himself:
—One day, Duan Yizhou will make Yan Nanchen suffer!!!
“Alright, being angry all the time will make you ugly,” Yan Nanchen said as he took out a lollipop from his pocket, unwrapped it, and handed it to him. “How about this?”
When Luo Songran saw the lollipop, his eyes lit up. He gratefully took it, feeling a bit moved. “Bro, how did you have candy on you? Did you carry it for me?”
Recently, Duan Yizhou hadn’t allowed him to eat sweets, and he had been craving them.
“No,” Yan Nanchen replied.
Luo Songran asked, “?”
“It’s for comforting my boyfriend.”
Luo Songran ‘oh’ed while biting the candy. “I knew it. You’re so kind to carry candy for me.” After that, he glanced at the emergency room. After teasing his brother for a while, his mood seemed slightly less anxious.
“RanRan,” Yan Nanchen called.
“What?”
“What will you do if Duan Yizhou experiences this again next time?”
Luo Songran thought for a moment, then said firmly, “For the sake of our relationship, I absolutely won’t have a second child. Enduring and abstaining from intimacy is too painful. I won’t endure such pain.”
Yan Nanchen thought, exactly. Why was he so torn? Anyway, two alphas couldn’t have children.
Ding, the door of the emergency room slowly opened.
Luo Songran suddenly stood up and saw his dad removing his mask and walking out. “Dad, how’s Duan Yizhou?”
Dad’s forehead was covered in sweat. He pointed to his forehead. “See, all sweat.”
Luo Songran didn’t understand. “And then?”
Dad gestured to his son’s forehead. “You don’t have to worry about whether your dad is injured. We just dealt with an alpha in his sensitive period.”
“Ah? Are you injured?!” Luo Songran widened his eyes, worrying, grabbing his dad’s hand and examining it. “Is it because Duan Yizhou woke up and attacked you guys?”
Was this sensitive period so terrifying?
“He woke up, but the first thing he wanted was to see you. This is a normal mate-seeking behavior during an alpha’s sensitive period,” Dad explained. “Because his pheromones are still too strong, we diluted them to reduce their impact on you. However, the effect isn’t very good.”
Luo Songran looked disappointed. “Oh, then what should we do?”
Dad smiled. “So we came up with a solution. It’s not the best, but it’s the only way. Don’t be too surprised. Mainly because you’re pregnant now. If Duan Yizhou is in his alpha sensitive period, he’ll have a stronger aggressive tendency.”
“What’s the solution?” Luo Songran suddenly felt that this was definitely not a good solution when Dad said it.
“We injected Duan Yizhou with omega hormone inducers to dilute his current alpha pheromone concentration and reduce the aggression of his sensitive period alpha pheromones. Although he’ll still have restless needs, he won’t lose control like an alpha.”
Luo Songran was speechless. Wow, “Dad, doesn’t this seem like a self-defeating strategy?”
Dad laughed. “You could say that, but not quite. Regardless of what he’s injected with, what he wants most is still you. But because of your special situation, we can only use this method to reduce the potential impact on you. It was the same with Uncle Wen years ago. He was also an alpha, but to reduce the impact on the other party, he injected himself with omega hormone inducers. It won’t change his gender, just make his aggression a little weaker.”
Yan Nanchen began to ponder.
“Can I go see him now?” Luo Songran’s mind was still on Duan Yizhou. He handed the box in his hand to Dad. “This is the sedative his assistant brought last time, the one used when they extracted my gland pheromones. Is it still useful?”
“Not now, keep it for emergencies,” Dad nodded. “You can wait for him to come out. But he might feel a bit down, mainly because of the omega hormone inducers. You’ll need to comfort him later to avoid him feeling overwhelmed.”
Luo Songran nodded hurriedly. “I will definitely do that!”
At that moment, he hadn’t yet understood what Dad meant by feeling overwhelmed. Before long, he saw Duan Yizhou being pushed out of the emergency room with an IV drip, looking much better.
“How are you feeling? Is there anywhere uncomfortable?” Luo Songran immediately walked to the bedside, following the nurse as they pushed him forward. But before Duan Yizhou could speak, he saw the man starting to cry “……???”
“BaoBao.” Duan Yizhou looked at the ceiling and shed tears, choking up.
Luo Songran was a bit panicked. Oh my god, why was his 193cm tall husband crying? He reached out to wipe his tears, “Is there anywhere uncomfortable?”
“I feel uncomfortable in my heart. Can you massage it for me?” Duan Yizhou held Luo Songran’s hand, looking at him earnestly.
Luo Songran was speechless. Huh???? Was his husband acting strange? Was he being coquettish?

Awwww…..a mushy Alpha 🤭🤭🤭
Why is DY called Zhong?
I’m confused about YN… Jiang Yi is in a relationship with the other cousin, Chu Beiheng; [edit] I forgot they’re twins ~ but YN just referred to JY as “husband” 🤔
In an early chapter YN was referred to as ‘Ms’, too.
I feel JY was definitely wronged.
Dad told LS they injected DY with Omega pheromone, and the effects, yet he’s confused by DY’s behaviour? 🤦♀️
Next chapter could be amusing.
Thank you both for the chapter.
