The Yin Casket’s making process was very evil, usually corpse oil was added, then the ashes of a person or parts of a corpse who had died from misfortune were placed in the oil. It was viewed as a very evil protective charm.

There were many kinds of Yin Caskets. Those that were used to attract peach blossom fortunes were called Yantong (swallow bird purity). Those that brought wealth were called Kuman Thong or the more fierce Lu Ge. [efn_note]According to google, Kuman in Thai means children, and Thong means gold, so together it means golden child, or buddha child. They willingly stay in the casket and give one fortune, thereby cultivating themselves by doing good deeds. However, there were cruel mages who would take an aborted infant who had died in the abdomen without being purified by Buddhism to make a Yin Casket. In order to get the Yin Casket quickly, they used illegal means to kill children or pregnant women cruelly, and make them into Yin Caskets.
