Chapter 21: Dopamine Can Dominate Everything

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Zhou Yan could not tell for a while whether what was happening in front of him was real or a dream, and it was only when Luo Futu came close again and breathed very restlessly against Zhou Yan’s ear that Zhou Yan came back to his senses. The image inside the dream overlapped with the scene in front of him, and Zhou Yan’s hair exploded all at once. He gave Luo Futu a fierce push and jumped up from the bed with a bang.

“What are you doing again!” Zhou Yan reprimanded, but Luo Futu did not react. Zhou Yan stared at him and narrowed his eyes, suddenly finding Luo Futu seemed to be a bit abnormal. He had rolled to his side from his sleeping position, but still had his eyes tightly closed and his brow furrowed, as if he was caught in a tired dream. He squirmed a few times toward Zhou Yan’s original lying position, but eventually failed to touch anything, so he slowly shrunk into a shrimp shape, frowning tightly, with both arms wrapped tightly around himself.

Zhou Yan stared at him for a while, confirming that Luo Futu was not awake, but saw that his face was paler than usual. Zhou Yan lowered his head to look closer at him, and surprisingly heard the sound of Luo Futu’s teeth clashing slightly. In addition, his breathing was unusually heavy, and his whole body was shivering.

It looked as if he was very cold.

…Luo Futu’s face was really deceptive. When he frowned like this, compared to the usual perverted look, there was more than a little bit of pitifulness, so he could not help but have compassion for him. Even Zhou Yan, who was so indifferent, could not help but be moved.

So he was subconsciously also a face con?

Zhou Yan went over and gently pressed his hand on Luo Futu’s forehead, expecting to feel a hot forehead, but he didn’t expect the body temperature to be extremely low where his palm touched. Icy cold, like a cold-blooded animal.

Zhou Yan frowned and wanted to take his hand away, but Luo Futu seemed to be very sensitive to the source of heat, grabbed his wrist, and then pulled Zhou Yan towards himself.

Luo Futu was very strong; even in this situation where he was seriously ill, he easily pulled Zhou Yan down, and he immediately greedily held Zhou Yan tightly and kept his body close to him as much as possible. Zhou Yan gasped and hesitated to push his hands away.

Zhou Yan drew a breath of cold air and still hesitated to push his hands away.

Luo Futu’s body was too cold, and he did not understand why the human body temperature would drop to such a low. Although the house floor heating was broken, there was still electric heating, so he should not be so cold as this.

Zhou Yan was crooked on the bed, and Luo Futu acted like he was hugging a Muppet doll, as he tightly bundled Zhou Yan in his arms and refused to let go. Zhou Yan did not mind temporarily acting as his warm water bag, but this physiological conditioned reflex would not make people think more.

…If Luo Futu didn’t breathe so sexily.

Luo Futu put his face on Zhou Yan’s neck, the latter expressionlessly looked away, then sighed slightly and pulled the quilt up to wrap Luo Futu. He said before that he was frostbitten by the soul fire, could it be that the two mystics that broke in tonight caused his symptoms to get worse?

Zhou Yan was thinking about it when Luo Futu, who had been warming himself against him for half a day, suddenly frowned in pain and started tearing his clothes. “It’s hot…”

Zhou Yan hurriedly got up to check. Luo Futu’s expression was getting worse and worse, his forehead was covered with fine sweat, his face was white, but his cheeks were floating with two unhealthy red spots, which seemed to be very painful.

Zhou Yan touched his forehead and found Luo Futu’s body was as cold as ice. Zhou Yan hurriedly pressed the quilt on him and wrapped Luo Futu tightly. His state at the moment was a bit like a person who was about to freeze to death: hallucinating before dying, feeling very hot and taking off his clothes like crazy, which proved that his body temperature was already lower than the ambient temperature, and if he was left alone, he was afraid that he would be finished immediately.

But he did not have any crocus flowers in his hands now…

Zhou Yan suddenly saw the flower seeds placed aside by Luo Futu. He hesitated, reached out, and took the seeds over, took one out and shoved it into Luo Futu’s mouth. The crocus flower seeds were very large, about as long as a thumb, and olive-shaped. If the active ingredient inside the flower was effective for his condition, then the seeds should also have this ingredient inside.

Luo Futu was not very conscious, so he couldn’t eat the seeds himself. Zhou Yan broke the seeds in half and squeezed out the juice into Luo Futu’s mouth, but the juice in the seeds was limited, and only a few drops were there.

Zhou Yan stared at the seeds for a while and stuffed it into his mouth.

Even with the active ingredients, this amount of juice was not enough, so let’s just give him the seeds.

Zhou Yan chewed the flower seeds, and an unpleasant bitter taste filled his mouth. He hesitated for a moment, cupped Luo Futu’s cheeks with his hands, and then fed him the seeds in his mouth.

Zhou Yan pressed his lips against Luo Futu’s, and a strange thought inexplicably popped up in his heart: If he still had the same ugly face as before, he probably couldn’t do this.

…He couldn’t really be a face con, right?

Zhou Yan frowned and left the lips of Luo Futu, who was reflexively swallowing, and the Adam’s apple in the middle of his throat slid up and down, a bit pathetic. The effect of the flower seeds was immediate: only half a pill, and Luo Futu’s shivering and cold sweat symptoms reduced a lot.

Zhou Yan stuffed the other half of the seed into his mouth and fed it into Luo Futu’s mouth as it was.

This was a rescue process that could have ended quietly, and as long as he didn’t say anything, he could have told Luo Futu that he was feeding him with a syringe.

However, perhaps because Zhou Yan’s mouth was tainted with the taste of crocus flower, before he could return, suddenly Luo Futu bit the tip of his tongue.

Zhou Yan slightly opened his eyes, and tried to retreat, but in the next second, the back of his head was pressed, the world instantly reversed, and Zhou Yan was directly pressed into the blanket by Luo Futu.

“…!” Zhou Yan’s words were roughly swallowed by Luo Futu, who then fiercely rolled over his lips, until Zhou Yan was suffocating.

Luo Futu let go with a ragged breath. He pressed his forehead against Zhou Yan and said in a dark voice, “Night attack?”

“…” Attack your sister!

Zhou Yan pushed hard against Luo Futu’s chest, gasping for breath and trying to get up, but was immediately pulled back by Luo Futu, who was pressing him heavily, his lips slowly brushing against the side of Zhou Yan’s neck, muttering to himself, “Last time for lying to me, and this time for that…”

He was referring to what happened in the bathroom.

Zhou Yan pushed him hard and said, “It’s the same nature as artificial respiration… Let go!”

Zhou Yan said this quickly and was about to dodge away, only to be kissed by Luo Futu again with his chin cupped. “No, I won’t let go.”

“…”

The first kiss was full of intrigue and the second kiss was to feed Luo Futu’s medicine, but this kiss was very much like kissing itself. It was as if there was something between them.

How could Luo Futu be so devoted to him… The ambiguous atmosphere gave him an illusion, and because he had just had a very strange dream, Zhou Yan was once again confused, unable to distinguish between reality and dream.

The kiss was really amazing, Zhou Yan was sure that he had no sexual feelings or love for Luo Futu, but when they kissed so unreservedly, he inevitably had some hormonal reactions. Zhou Yan was aloof, but that was only psychological, he had all the physical reactions, and they were in an awkward situation. Luo Futu was an alpha, he was an omega, so how can they kiss together without feeling…. Zhou Yan was confused for a moment, subconsciously cupped Luo Futu’s face, slightly tilted his head to bite his lips, Luo Futu seemed to have gotten some signal, and directly hugged Zhou Yan tight…

Wait, when did he start to develop an omega consciousness?

Zhou Yan snapped back to his senses and pushed Luo Futu hard, but the latter didn’t want to stop there; he held Zhou Yan tightly so he couldn’t escape. As the kiss went on, the strange feeling made Zhou Yan feel very uneasy, even frightened. He fumbled around on the bed, his fingers came across the cold metal under the pillow, and Zhou Yan immediately grabbed it in his hand.

Click—

Immediately afterwards, cold metal was pointed at Luo Futu’s head; he moved slightly, while Zhou Yan simply poked his head with a pistol. When he looked up, a silver thread was pulled between their lips, and Zhou Yan’s mind was buzzing. He stared at Luo Futu with a tight frown, his chest rising and falling dramatically from lack of oxygen, but, since he was kissed, the corners of his eyes were slightly red, although his expression was very fierce, there was no deterrent.

Only the gun in his hand.

Zhou Yan’s action has clearly expressed his intent: if Luo Futu dared to move again, he would ask him to eat the gun.

He had to break that atmosphere. Zhou Yan was not sure why, but he was even a little afraid.

Luo Futu suddenly smiled, then held Zhou Yan’s hand and moved the gun to the center of his forehead. He stared at Zhou Yan’s lips that were nibbled and were a little red and swollen, and the knot of his throat slid up and down a little. There was no fear in his eyes, instead he was very excited. Luo Futu’s voice was a little dark. “You always want to kill me, do you hate me that much?”

“…” Zhou Yan stared at him, subconsciously swallowed his saliva, then stiffened his head and pushed his gun against Luo Futu’s head, scolding in a low voice, “Get lost.”

Luo Futu did not go away, he did not even let go of his hand, but lowered his head and stared at Zhou Yan, those amber eyes looked straight into his eyes, his sight was like a brutal and rude arrow, shot out and knocked Zhou Yan to the ground.

It was also like the gentle moonlight, giving him the illusion that his eyes were very obsessed.

Zhou Yan thought he could calmly handle any situation he faced, but never thought that just one look made him at a loss for words.

Is it because he was too good looking? Not so much, he was not a face-con, not to mention confused by his appearance…

“Then go ahead and kill, you saved me anyway.”

“You…!”

Luo Futu was too strange, his eyes were strange, his behavior was strange, his speech was strange, and Zhou Yan didn’t know how to describe it.

Zhou Yan struggled hard but couldn’t break free, he frowned and whispered, “Are you not awake? Are you dreaming?”

–I don’t know if it’s because Luo Futu was hurt by the two mystics, so his thoughts were confused…. Zhou Yan felt that such an expression should not appear on his face at this time.

But wasn’t it his arm that was hurt? It’s not like it’s his brain.

Luo Futu slightly hooked the corners of his lips, he forcefully held Zhou Yan’s hand, the trigger of the pistol stuck, and then pulled Zhou Yan’s wrist and pressed to the top of his head – once the best time to shoot was missed, it could never be recovered. Even if Zhou Yan now regrets it, even if Zhou Yan regretted it now, he would lose the opportunity to kill this dog because of his indecisiveness.

“Luo Futu…”

“Shh… actually, I’ve always wanted to…”

Luo Futu whispered to him, Zhou Yan could not hear his words after, only saw him staring at him with his glazed eyelashes hanging, the thumb of his other hand rubbed heavily over his lips.

Zhou Yan subconsciously gripped the gun in his hand, but his hand was held tightly by Luo Futu, so he couldn’t move at all. Luo Futu’s hand touched the side of Zhou Yan’s neck, and the edge of his gland was rubbed heavily, and Zhou Yan couldn’t help but shiver, but he didn’t violate him further. The neck…

Luo Futu did not mean any harm, Zhou Yan could only hold his hand to stop him from continuing, but Luo Futu had already lowered his head and pressed his lips against his to pry Zhou Yan’s teeth open very gently.

Zhou Yan once again experienced how passive it was to be dominated by dopamine and hormones together, as if there was a tiny electric current that instantly crawled along the spine all over his body, leaving Zhou Yan frozen in place.

Damn, he was dominated by dopamine…

Just as the situation was getting out of hand, Luo Futu suddenly frowned and collapsed on top of him, as if he had finally run out of power, and he lost consciousness again.

Zhou Yan stared at the dark ceiling for a long time, finally slowly coming back to his senses, the only sound in the quiet darkness was the sound of his breathing. Zhou Yan suddenly pushed the person on top of him and got up from the bed, he put a pistol to Luo Futu’s head, furious, and wanted to kill him almost immediately.

However, Luo Futu did not react at all, his glazed eyelashes quietly covered his eyes, looking very good, innocent, with no killing power.

He had really passed out.

Zhou Yan looked at him expressionlessly, but finally did not pull the trigger. He was probably just not thinking straight. Zhou Yan had to use this reason to convince himself, as to whether Luo Futu was really not clear-headed, only he himself knows.

After this small accident, Zhou Yan no longer wanted to use that method to feed him seeds, he seems to be temporarily not dead, the situation was not very urgent, Zhou Yan went to the kitchen to bring a stone mortar, and two crocus flower seeds were mashed, and then used a spoon to scrape the paste into Luo Futu’s mouth.

Luo Futu was able to swallow by himself and no longer shivered like before. After the two seeds were eaten, Luo Futu’s face finally became better.

This method was effective.

Zhou Yan pushed Luo Futu aside and the latter fell into a deep sleep, but Zhou Yan couldn’t sleep anymore, let alone continue to sleep next to Luo Futu. He got up from the bed, grabbed the crocus flower seeds and rushed out from the bedroom.

He wanted to calm down his brain, and he also wanted to make these seeds germinate as soon as possible, and he wanted to cure Luo Futu as soon as possible.

Zhou Yan didn’t want to experience him going crazy again.

While some people slept upstairs that night, others were busy all night trying to distract themselves with work.

When Luo Futu woke up the next morning, he found Zhou Yan was not with him. He sat up suspiciously and then found that the sensation in his legs had returned. Luo Futu then got out of bed and went to look for Zhou Yan. In fact, because his house was almost destroyed, the view became much more open and Luo Futu found him in a room at the back of the main building after two turns.

Luo Futu had not been to this room, this was Zhou Yan’s laboratory, inside the light was bright, very warm, and there were some strange objects he had never seen. Only after walking in did he find that the entire southeast corner of the room was destroyed, with a large piece of wall skin and brick sections exposed, looking very miserable, and naturally, some crystal-like equipment placed under this wall was also broken on the ground.

Luo Futu had seen these crystal vessels, several of which had been made to look like glasses and placed inside Zhou Yan’s bedroom. This was one of the basis for Luo Futu’s speculation that Zhou Yan was a rich man, not everyone could use crystal, not to mention that Zhou Yan also seemed to have no appreciation for them.

There were many such “broken crystals” scattered around Zhou Yan’s feet, and he was wearing a white lab coat, lying on the table with his eyes closed, with a piece of paper full of strange symbols pressed under his palm. A large clump of vines at his side showed crazy growth, each branch was covered with bright red flowers. These vines were not held upright, all pressed on Zhou Yan, because they were too dense, it was like a quilt covering Zhou Yan’s body. If Luo Futu didn’t look closely, he would think that the flower was born from Zhou Yan as fertilizer. The fiery red petals reflected Zhou Yan’s face, there was a sense of desperate beauty.

Luo Futu reached out and cupped one of the flowers and gently stroked its petals. He looked down at Zhou Yan and was amazed – how did he manage to make the crocus flower seeds grow and bloom overnight?

Zhou Yan had been sleeping shallowly, and Luo Futu’s proximity caused a change in the surrounding light, causing Zhou Yan to wake up quickly.

He was a little embarrassed.

Luo Futu’s reaction was very natural, smiling at him, “Why did you come here to sleep alone?”

Zhou Yan stared at him in silence, seeing that Luo Futu seemed to have no memory of what happened a few hours ago, and was vaguely relieved – so it was almost certain that Luo Futu was really not in his right mind before, and that was great, so let’s pretend that nothing happened.

Zhou Yan lifted his hand to lift the vines on his body and said, “As you can see, I’m planting flowers.”

Zhou Yan really had studied how to plant this crocus flower as soon as possible, tried a variety of hormones, and finally succeeded.

Sometimes Zhou Yan also wondered if, having enjoyed too much of the convenience brought by technological civilization, he had somehow become too dependent on “technology” and become “lazy”, losing patience and wanting to change the physiological process of everything through manual intervention. The physiological process of everything was changed by artificial intervention.

The reason why crocus flowers were favored was that it grew very fast, just like the magic bean in the fairy tale. After the seed was planted, it could quickly grow roots and sprout flowers and mature within half a month. It was also because of this reason that Zhou Yan could use plant hormones to compress its life process into one night.

If the crocus flower was just an ordinary plant, even with hormones, it would never be able to do so fast.

Luo Futu pinched off a flower and touched it gently with his fingertips, the flower immediately wilted and melted, then was completely absorbed by his fingertips, Luo Futu slightly narrowed his eyes, “How did you do that?”

Zhou Yan raised his eyebrows at him, “The power of science.”

Zhou Yan usually had a cold face, but every time he talked about something like “science”, he became very bright and radiant. Luo Futu hooked his lips at him, reached out to pick up the paper on the table, pointed to the symbols and asked, “What is this?”

Zhou Yan leaned over to the chair behind him and raised his head slightly, “This is the chemical formula of β-interferon, a certain kind of plant hormone. I have tried several hormones and found that only β-interferon and γ-interferon have an effect on the growth and flowering of crocus flowers, while the effect of the other ones is minimal.” He finished pushing the pot of flowers over to the table, indicating, “You should use these first, and you’d better not have a night attack in the middle of the night again.”

Luo Futu was puzzled, “I had a night attack? What is that?”

Speaking of this matter, Zhou Yan was the first to have a bad association, the dream inside those scenes seemed to go through his mind like a horse lamp. Zhou Yan frowned and turned around to leave the back of his head to Luo Futu, “Nothing.”

Luo Futu noticed that Zhou Yan was not right, but he had now learned not to ask, Zhou Yan’s character was very stubborn, forcing him to ask him was not to force any results, could only side track, lure him to say it himself.

Luo Futu thought about it and recalled, “I only remember that last night the power of the soul fire suddenly increased, I could barely suppress it and experienced a dream… But I can’t remember what happened after that. What, what happened?”

Zhou Yan picked up the pen on the table and twirled it anxiously between his fingers, “Really? That’s probably why you were as cold as a corpse.”

Luo Futu said, “Oh, it looks like you saved me.”

— but in his mind he was wondering, Zhou Yan seemed a little impatient.

“I couldn’t have saved you if there hadn’t been a packet of seeds – I gave you two of them.”

Luo Futu suddenly realized, “The seeds do have the same effect as the flowers, but because they are few and far between, not as convenient to use as flowers, and do not grow quickly, they are not commonly used.”

“I can’t think about that much anymore… You seemed to be freezing at that time, what was going on?”

Luo Futu looked at him and sighed slightly, “There have actually been two forces fighting inside me, Thomas’s soul fire and my own spiritual power, and now my power has the upper hand. This is a very fortunate change, originally I was struggling against the soul fire, and with those two seeds, I suddenly had a breakthrough. Originally, this kind of contest was an even match, and a small advantage could already determine the outcome.”

Zhou Yan nodded thoughtfully and hesitantly, and only then did he ask tentatively, “By the way, do you have a magic that can make people dream?”

Luo Futu caught the crux of the question very keenly, “Did you have some kind of dream?”

Zhou Yan’s expression did not fluctuate and he lied calmly, “A nightmare.”

Luo Futu looked at him and curled his lips, “No wonder you ran here in the middle of the night, so you had a nightmare. The attack spells are only cast to produce damage, simply giving people a nightmare doesn’t seem to have much effect, and it’s a waste of spiritual energy… Don’t worry, it shouldn’t be an attack.”

“…” How was there no damage? Obviously, there was a lot of damage! He did not even want to look at Luo Futu’s face now. He hurried to recover his spiritual power and make his fake face back, he was now if he was ugly, the impact on himself was not so strong.

“But it does not exclude the possibility that you are affected by the residual malicious spiritual energy in my body and thus have nightmares.”

He had previously received those two mystic spell attacks, although he barely relied on his own strength to suppress that kind of attack, but Zhou Yan was an ordinary person, the two of them sleeping in the same bed, may be affected.

Zhou Yan immediately thought of this possibility, but he preferred to explain the phenomenon with electric waves and magnetic fields – the two mystic abilities may be a “magnetic field” residual left in Luo Futu, and himself because of the two mystic abilities may be a kind of “magnetic field” that remained in Luo Futu’s body, and because he was close to Luo Futu, his brain waves were affected by this magnetic field.

–But was it possible that Luo Futu did it on purpose?

Zhou Yan was not without doubt, Luo Futu was a black wizard, he had seen mystic skills, although not yet penetrate why they have superpowers, but the facts in front of him, could not be denied. Zhou Yan admitted mystic abilities were powerful.

So, if such a person wanted to do something to him, wouldn’t it be easy?

Zhou Yan subconsciously glanced at Luo Futu, the other’s expression was very pure, as if he did not know the look – he was only an empty thought, not to mention the situation last night Luo Futu self-preservation, which has the energy to engage in these things. If the magnetic field of malice affects the brain waves, not necessarily nightmares, because the dream was uncontrollable.

But Zhou Yan also couldn’t accept why it would be that kind of dream.

Luo Futu sat down on a side chair, plucked crocus flowers from the pot and absorbed them one by one, “No matter what, thank you for everything you did for me. I’ll cast a tranquilizing spell for you, and you go get a good night’s sleep.”

Zhou Yan wondered, “Have you recovered already?”

“A little.” Luo Futu lifted his hand and gently waved it around, emitting starbursts of light between his fingers, as if he had grabbed a handful of stars. When he launched the spell, Luo Futu’s body also like the two mystic before, a layer of soft light emerged, set him off like an elf, “In addition to leaving part of the spiritual power to suppress the soul fire, there is still enough power to cast some small spells, casting a spell of tranquility is enough.”

Zhou Yan shook his head, “No need, I want to see you cast other spells.”

“What?”

Zhou Yan looked at him and said seriously, “You should not forget what you promised me – if you regain your spiritual power, you will show me your ability. How exactly do mystics get a lot of food out of thin air? Even enough to use the food to exchange crocus flowers with the whole world. “

Luo Futu suddenly realized, “There is such a thing.”

Zhou Yan looked at him nervously, “Then you show me now.”

Luo Futu agreed very simply, “Go get a handful of seeds.”

Zhou Yan then went to the corner cabinet to bring a bag of summer wheat seeds, Luo Futu grabbed a handful from the small bag and scattered it on the table, then stretched out a finger, traced a very regular trajectory in the air, and pointed to the summer wheat. These seeds sprouted in front of Zhou Yan.

That’s right, real germination, two tender cotyledons broke through the seed skin and came out of the seeds.

“…” Zhou Yan, for the first time, because of a mystic spell, showed Luo Futu such a surprised expression. Before, even in the face of the two mystic’s strange attacks, he was not so surprised.

This was too fast, phytohormones would not be so fast.

Luo Futu smiled at Zhou Yan, seemingly a little smug, “This is just a small time spell, I have not yet recovered my power, can only do this, but any other healthy mystic can make the seeds germinate and mature quickly, this is the entry level spell.”

Zhou Yan then understood. If any mystic could do this, then as long as they had enough seeds, they could produce a large amount of food. Rather than plowing for months to get food rations, mystics could do it in a flash, so they have this system now. If he were just an ordinary person, he would probably be accustomed to such a system. What a way to save work. As for why the government did not continue to provide food to the common people in winter, Zhou Yan speculated that this might be a check-and-balance strategy of the rulers.

The mystics wanted to impress the idea that “no flowers = no food” on the minds of their subjects, with whips and sugar, both so that they would listen to the mystics and continue to grow flowers for them that were useless to the common people.

It was indeed a policy of foolishness, and they had nullified the “mediocrity” of the world. This world was not a strong circulation of information. Listening to mystic orders may have been deeply rooted for many years, generations were used to this.

No one would want to change.

Zhou Yan froze for half a day before asking, “If you have this ability, why don’t you just let the crocus flower seeds germinate? Wouldn’t it be faster? And let ordinary people plant it and change…”

Luo Futu took off a crocus flower and twirled it gently with his fingertips, the flower then gradually broke into red sparks and disappeared in the air, “That won’t work, mystics can control the growth rate of any plant, but only those that contain spiritual power, they seem to be immune to it.”

Zhou Yan thought about it seriously and his eyes lit up, “In that case, there must be some kind of transformation relationship between the factors that provide nutrients for the growth of ordinary plants and the factors that provide nutrients for the plants that contain spiritual power. Rather than saying that crocus flower is a plant, it should be a medium for this transformation.”

Luo Futu wondered, “What does that mean?”

“Nothing, I know you don’t understand.”

“…”

Zhou Yan thought, the energy in this world must be constant, mystic energy would be depleted and needs to be replenished, that means mystic energy was also constant. The difference was that mystic energy conservation was different from the law of energy conservation for ordinary people. The energy they could transform could work in more wonderful places, such as space or time, these two things were impossible for ordinary people. But to say that it was impossible to break through the factors, that was why they felt mystics were amazing. But what was the truth? No one knows, because perhaps the energy of both just does not exist in the same dimension! And the so-called crocus flower, gloxinia and a series of other plants were the link between the two dimensions.

The more Zhou Yan thought about it, the more amazing he felt. He stood up sharply and muttered, “Interesting, this world is really interesting… How can the power of different dimensions coexist in the same space? Interesting…”

Luo Futu’s brow furrowed, “What the hell are you talking about?”

Zhou Yan turned around twice eagerly in place, “I can’t explain it to you yet, because it’s all just a conjecture of mine. I haven’t proved it yet… But if the low-latitude and high-dimensional worlds cross, it’s easy to go wrong… How is it possible to coexist? By the way, do you have a strange thing here… That is, monsters.”

Luo Futu shook his head when he heard this, and then his face changed slightly, “How did you…”

Zhou Yan said in surprise, “There really is?

Zhou Yan’s words have not fallen, Luo Futu has pressed his index finger on Zhou Yan’s lips, “Who told you this, this is forbidden, do not talk nonsense.”

The touch on his lips made Zhou Yan froze, he hurriedly pulled his hand away and averted his eyes, “You can actually deceive yourself and others, is it okay if you don’t say it? The horrible thing doesn’t exist if you don’t mention it…”

–The wizards who didn’t dare to mention You know who in Harry Potter were all killed in the end.

“Tell me about it.”

Luo Futu looked at Zhou Yan silent for a while, and then slowly walked to the table and sat down, “That is a tragic history about mystics. They once appeared, and ordinary people could not do anything with them, only mystics could barely deal with them. A long time ago, it appeared on a large scale, many mystics sacrificed themselves to hunt them, but we finally won.”

“So since then, mystics naturally became the heroes of this world, becoming the ruler.” Zhou Yan stated his conjecture. He no longer needed Luo Futu to affirm his conjecture, his expression had already given him a clear answer. Zhou Yan’s black eyes shone with a burning light, “What are they called?”

“They have no name.”

“Yes, they do!” Zhou Yan took a step forward, he stared into Luo Futu’s eyes and said firmly, “Lurian, we call them Lurians.”

Luo Futu felt that Zhou Yan was very crazy and attractive at this moment, his eyes had a light that was brighter than the sun.

Luo Futu propped his hand on his jaw and looked slightly sideways at Zhou Yan, “They have disappeared, and we are not necessarily talking about the same kind of monster.”

Zhou Yan shook his head, “They haven’t disappeared because you haven’t.”

Luo Futu stared at him in silence, Zhou Yan sat back at the table, pulled out a pile of paper from the bookshelf and began to draw a diagram on the paper, “Our research on Lurians there was only skin deep but deeper than this side. It is generally believed that something like Lurians are an invasive species outside the dimension. They will attack humans indiscriminately, but after devouring them and then not absorbing them, they will finally just spit everything out, as if they just want to wipe out humans. This is against biological instinct since creatures hunt for energy. Lurians hunt, just to hunt. So Lurians can not be called a creature, only a monster. Later we guessed that they appear when the space and time of a world is distorted and the high and low dimensions appear to cross. If I’m not wrong, mystics should belong to the high-dimensional energy body, and the yong, as you call them, belong to the low-dimensional energy body. You said that mystics naturally know how to use spiritual power, right? That’s for sure! Because the world of high-dimensional energy has a set of laws, while the low-dimensional energy body does not understand, and high-dimensional energy bodies have their own laws that they were born to know, like eating and sleeping is natural. It’s funny that I even tried to use known theories to explain mystic behavior, how is it possible? How can I understand the laws of other dimensions? So I was wrong from the beginning … Let’s put it this way, as long as there is still a mystic in this world, and there is still such a concept as a mystic, and the gap between the higher and lower dimensions will stay coexistent – at least in consciousness – and because of this, the Lurian will never disappear.”

–There was a conjecture that their world, because of the high level of technological development, had itself derived from the ascending creatures, such as they forcibly extended the life span of human beings, forcibly optimize the genes, so that humans make more than “human” should look like, to attract Lurian “dimensional scavengers”, then the world was even more amazing, the so-called Zedoary Continent from the beginning, had a coexistence with humans of different dimensions.

In a way, Zhou Yan also belonged to the high-dimensional humans since his genetic level had long exceeded an ordinary human, but he was different from Luo Futu. They are not the same world of high-dimensional. He intuitively thought that Zhou Yan was different from ordinary “yong”.

After Zhou Yan finished, he unfolded the paper towards Luo Futu, “I am 30% sure that my guess should be correct.”

Luo Futu saw an ugly monster drawn on his paper, its face blurred like a festering octopus, covered with a hard shell, except for a large mouth that was particularly conspicuous. This made him vaguely remember the previous books about “them”, those portraits and Zhou Yan’s drawing, although there was a difference, but only the difference in style …

What Zhou Yan drew was indeed that kind of monster.

Zhou Yan caught Luo Futu’s surprised expression, he stared at him and slightly curled his lips, “Now it’s 50%.”

Luo Futu reached out and took the piece of paper, looked at it with his eyes down, and looked at Zhou Yan for a long time before he said incredulously, “What the hell are you…? What kind of person are you?”

So, LF’s breathing is sexy, aye ☺️
Face con indeed, but I think he’d still have kissed LF’s ugly face, to save his life.
Lurians hunt just to hunt, so are monsters; many humans do that, so are too.
I don’t really understand about Lurians always existing whilst Mystics do; is it because Mystics = the higher plain, and humans = the lower one, with Lurians in the middle?
But then would they still exist if people didn’t, but Mystics did?
My brain hurts 😂
Thank you both for the chapter.

Although I don’t understand the logic behind ZY’s words, but I love his brilliant enthusiasm. Thanks for the chapter!!!
