Chapter 45: I used to be an alpha

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Luo Futu even got serious about it.

That night, Zhou Yan was drawing the next mecha parts he needed to make, and Luo Futu sat down next to him with a pen and paper as if he was serious about the employee handbook. Luo Futu did not simply copy the rules of the sect, and he asked Mu Lian to go back to Zhou Yan’s house to pick up his codex, saying that he had to study the codex he believed in before he could rewrite the manual so Zhou Yan could be satisfied.

By now, Luo Futu had already read a large part of the codex.

Zhou Yan glanced up at him and saw Luo Futu looking at the book with his eyes downcast. His beauty was undeniable, but it was rare to see him so focused. It was as if he looked more attractive than usual. Zhou Yan felt as if he was a little bit moved.

… He was very fond of children who were serious and loved to learn, and Luo Futu was very thoughtful this time so maybe he could really help.

Zhou Yan stared at him for a while and quietly went over to him to ask, “How is it? Do you have an idea?”

Luo Futu hooked his lips and gave a smile. Zhou Yan did not understand what he meant, so he asked, “From your point of view, what do you think of this codex?”

Luo Futu snorted, “It looks quite powerful, but many parts are ridiculous.”

Zhou Yan was a bit surprised, “Ridiculous? Although I also think some parts need to be improved, they are reasonable, but how can you see the absurdity….”

–Luo Futu was not from Dense Cloud Planet, so how could he know that their codex was fully adapted to reality?

Luo Futu said, “Of course I can see it, it gives too many rights to civilians, it’s ridiculous.”

“….” He was so naive to have hope in this ignorant historical era, he wanted to take back the goodwill he had just brushed up!

Zhou Yan gave Luo Futu a cold look, “Put away your arrogant ruler posture. The law is supposed to be a provision that binds both civilians and law enforcement agencies. This is what is called fairness. If it is the same as your witch’s codex, what would it be called? It’d be called lynching.”

Luo Futu also guessed that he would have a conflict of interest with Zhou Yan in this regard, and he had no intention to argue as he was curious about something else. He asked Zhou Yan somewhat inquiringly, “Before evaluating this code, I have a question for you, where exactly did this code come from?”

Zhou Yan froze for a moment, hesitantly not knowing how to explain. In fact, he never wanted to hide the fact that he came from another world from Luo Futu, but also did not deliberately explain, because he felt there was no need. Now Luo Futu has seen the codex he wrote, and had systematically understood the contents of the codex…. He definitely had to give a reasonable explanation.

Such a complete system with everything was recorded, and a clearly organized code. It could not be made out of thin air. it must have been compiled and modified by many people over centuries, in order to form such a perfect model.

Zhou Yan pursed his lips and put down the pen and paper in his hand, “This is our…. Legal terms.”

“Where is it from? Your hometown?”

Zhou Yan nodded, “You could say that.”

“But no matter where your hometown is, as long as it is on the Zedoary Continent, no such law will be born.” Luo Futu closed the codex and he looked at Zhou Yan as he asked, “Who are you really?”

He finally asked this sentence that Zhou Yan didn’t know how to answer, and although he expected it, Zhou Yan still did not know how to explain.

This sentence seemed like a certain button. While saying it, the whole world had a silence button pressed. Zhou Yan picked up the pencil on the table again, drawing the lines of the parts on the paper. The rustling sound made Luo Futu quickly realize that he had asked the wrong question.

After a long silence, Zhou Yan finally spoke up, “Is this question important?” He lifted his head and gave Luo Futu a helpless look, “I can’t explain…. I can only tell you that I will help you.”

Luo Futu gently raised his eyebrows, of course he knew that Zhou Yan would help him as all he was doing was helping him. Whether it was from the natural curiosity of human beings or from his interest in Zhou Yan as a whole, he wanted to know more about Zhou Yan.

Luo Futu saw that he wouldn’t say anything and let out a soft sigh, “It seems I haven’t made you trust me enough.”

“No.” Zhou Yan said while looking at Luo Futu, only to see that his beautiful face showed a fragile look. Zhou Yan instantly softened, “because I myself can not explain. The place where I used to live is very different from here, my time…. It seems to be a time long, long after the present…. But again, I’ve never seen a time like the Zedoary Continent in the available historical records. So I’m not sure if I transmigrated through time or space…. Do you understand what I am saying?”

Luo Futu listened very carefully, and he summed up a relatively simple conclusion from Zhou Yan’s rare and somewhat messy explanation, which was that he did not belong to this world. Luo Futu held his jaw with one hand as he pondered for a long time and asked, “So, you’ll go back?”

Zhou Yan couldn’t help but frown – he couldn’t answer the question he just asked, and he couldn’t answer this one even more, “I would like to….”

“I don’t allow it.”

Zhou Yan’s words were interrupted by Luo Futu, and an arm came straight up that propped itself up against the wall at his side. Before Zhou Yan could react, he was trapped between his body and the wall by Luo Futu. He was now regretting that he chose his seat in the corner since Luo Futu suddenly went crazy, and he had wanted to escape in time.

Luo Futu did not know what was going on in his mind, and he almost gathered Zhou Yan in his arms while just looking down at him – Luo Futu’s face was not smiling, even the corners of the lips that habitually hooked up were pursed tightly, “You yourself do not know how to get from that place to here. If you go back, how can I get you back?”

Zhou Yan looked at him with a calm face, but his heart fluctuated a bit. He could hear Luo Futu was genuinely worried about the possibility of this happening, and seriously thought about the response plan.

It was hard for him to think of so much in such a short time.

“…. But I can’t control it, it’s an accident, it’s beyond even my understanding of science.”

— If he had a choice, he wouldn’t have come from Dense Cloud Planet to this backward place in the first place, damn it, he still had a lot of research, and he couldn’t leave the lab at all.

“Then you’re not allowed to think about going back.” Luo Futu gently lowered his head and put his forehead against the top of Zhou Yan’s head so that his eyes were able to look into his eyes, “You don’t understand the rules here. One thing with too much thought, it will produce intention, maybe one day it will really happen. So you have to think about it and stay here forever.”

“….” Shit, this idea was scary just to hear about, who wants to stay in this kind of hellhole forever?

Luo Futu seemed to have the ability to read people’s minds, so he could see Zhou Yan’s thoughts very keenly and he narrowed his eyes dangerously, “You don’t want to stay here?”

Zhou Yan looked at him in silence as he knew what would happen if he told the truth. Luo Futu would definitely be angry. This madman was usually nice to talk to, but when angry, he was completely unable to listen to human words.

Zhou Yan wanted to tell him in a more euphemistic way, so he thought for half a day and said, “Why should I stay here? I belong over there.”

…. Oh no, that doesn’t seem very euphemistic.

Sure enough, Luo Futu’s eyes changed all of a sudden, and he grabbed Zhou Yan’s arm, “You belong over there? What makes you belong there? You belong to me now!”

“….”

Luo Futu stared at him with a grim expression, “You said, what is there for you to stay over there, are you married? You don’t have a husband, do you?”

“What are you talking about….” He was a fucking alpha over there, who would have a husband?!

Luo Futu then asked, “So you have kids?”

Zhou Yan wanted to roll his eyes, and he grabbed Luo Futu’s hand to break his grip. Luo Futu’s strength was so strong that he didn’t know if he used his spiritual power when he grabbed him, which made his bones hurt. Zhou Yan struggled to break Luo Futu’s hand, “It’s senseless.”

Luo Futu said, “It’s senseless to treat love and affection as ties, but many people have this kind of complex, how do I know if you will be the same kind of person?”

Zhou Yan looked indifferent, “I’m not, I’m a robot, I don’t have a family or a lover, they call me an artificial intelligence. Satisfied?”

“Artificial intelligence? What does that mean….”

Zhou Yan heaved a breath out of his nostrils, “It means sarcastically that I have no feelings.”

–The nickname “Artificial Intelligence” had been with him since he was a child, and was the one he remembered the most. The fist seems to fall on cotton, there was no sense of achievement, those guys were angry with themselves.

Just because Zhou Yan didn’t explicitly care about them didn’t mean that he didn’t care, he just kept it all in his mind.

Luo Futu did not know how to take it, watching Zhou Yan bend down to pick up the pen and paper that fell on the ground. tThere was an impulse to continue to ask about this “artificial intelligence”.

It was a good thing he held back.

“Well, instead of worrying about things that we don’t know will happen, let’s do the job at hand. We are not in a comfortable position, you should be more focused.” His tone was calm, and after he said that, he started to design his mecha parts again. Zhou Yan was such a calm and scary person, so calm that…. Luo Futu could not guess what was in his heart, whether he was like him, and would be disgusted or even afraid of the parting that would happen at some point?

It can’t be his wishful thinking, right?

Luo Futu thought this and suddenly grabbed Zhou Yan’s waist to sweep him into his arms. The latter did not resist, and Luo Futu held the back of his head and kissed him. Luo Futu also felt a little strange. He became motherly like the people he used to disdain…. If only he could know who sent Zhou Yan to him, then he could kill that person and make him disappear from this world completely.

He held Zhou Yan and kissed him for a long time, and it was only until both sides were panting that Luo Futu reluctantly let him go.

Zhou Yan was lying on Luo Futu’s shoulder, staring expressionlessly at the not-so-smooth wall. His mind was surprisingly empty, unable to think of anything. He subconsciously wrapped his arms around Luo Futu’s neck, wanting to say something nice to break the atmosphere, but unfortunately could not think of anything to say.

“If this place becomes like your ideal country, will you stay?” Luo Futu said this close to his ear. His voice was very soft, so light that without listening carefully, he could not decipher what he said.

Zhou Yan subconsciously closed his eyes. He understood that this was Luo Futu’s compromise.

“If I let you see a fair and just, prosperous society, will you stay?”

Zhou Yan felt very uncomfortable in his heart, “…. As I said, it’s out of my control, I can’t give you a promise.”

Luo Futu sneered as he pushed Zhou Yan away and stared into his eyes, “I also said that none of that matters, I just want to hear your answer. Will you or will you not?”

–This guy…. He was being unreasonable again. His will did not matter as his will would not influence the final outcome. However, Zhou Yan finally gave him a positive answer, “Yes.”

Luo Futu then hugged him tightly, “Remember what you said.”

“So let go of me now, there’s still a lot to do tonight.”

Luo Futu was silent for a long time, seemingly struggling between “letting go” and “not letting go” for a long time. He finally frowned and shook his head, “Forget it tonight, it’s too late and I don’t want to work.”

“…. Oh, what the hell did you just say? I thought you were going to lead us into the communist stage.”

Luo Futu couldn’t understand Zhou Yan’s bullshit either. He casually ripped off his jacket and threw it aside before he picked him up and walked inside the bedroom. “Go ahead and mock me, I can still let you talk more now, but your mouth will run out of time later.”

“….”

Luo Futu opened his mouth to bite Zhou Yan’s lips, and the taste of his pheromone became very unstable as one moment, it was restrained, and the next, it swarmed around him. Zhou Yan could feel Luo Futu’s emotions that were fiercely shaking, and was infected by him somehow. He leaned back on the bed and let Luo Futu unbutton his clothes, but a ghostly thought suddenly popped into his head, “Do you want to know about my old life?”

Luo Futu nibbled sideways on his Adam’s apple, and the latter subconsciously inhaled as his voice took on an airy tone. Luo Futu nibbled on his neck while saying vaguely, “I don’t want to know, don’t spoil the fun at a time like this.”

Oh, that’s funny, when did he ever have to take orders from him?

Zhou Yan stared at the ceiling and licked the corner of his lips somewhat nastily, “I used to be an alpha.”

Luo Futu’s movement obviously paused for a moment, and Zhou Yan subconsciously held his breath while quietly waiting for his reaction. What Zhou Yan was expecting did not happen, and he heard his clothes being ripped open from the middle with a “riiiip-” sound.

Zhou Yan’s eyes widened in surprise, “…. I said I used to be an alpha!”

Luo Futu grabbed Zhou Yan’s hand and pressed it on top of his head while one hand stroked roughly over his body, “Really?”

Zhou Yan could not stand it and reflexively avoided it, “Damn pervert…. You are really gay, do you not feel disgusted… mn!”

His voice was swallowed by Luo Futu, who told him with his actions that he didn’t care about it at all. He was extremely screwed.Ā

  1. I’m a little surprised that, as a Mystic, LF wouldn’t sense that moving between times and/or worlds, wouldn’t be under a human’s control.
Poor ZY, it seems you will be; again 🫣
Thank you both for the chapter.

    1. I think, it was exactly because LF is a mystic that he think there is someone behind ZY’s world transmigration. As mystic can manipulate time and space (remember the ‘collectables’ with their time stopped). He felt someone powerful enough either on ZY’s side of the world, or this world or somewhere in between is responsible for the time and space tear. That is why he wanted to kill the person to annex the possibility of ZY going back.

By the way, ZY reminded me of MC from Reborn to be Love Rival’s Wife where MC called ML gay for loving a girl with guy soul (as ML didn’t fall in love with the girl original soul) but when he realised ML didn’t know the soul thing and he had also fallen head over heels, he was bristling over the fact that he was the gay one all along lol. Like LF, he isn’t gay as he fall for omega ZY but ZY with mindset of an alpha is gay as he fall for a bone fide full and full alpha šŸ˜…
