Chapter 102: Departure for the Federation

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

“0.5? You’re good at subtraction…” Kazumi Koyama chuckled softly, his slender and powerful fingers lightly touching Yin Bo’s cheek, pinching his jaw to kiss him actively. At the same time, he extended a pair of mental tendrils to connect with his consciousness cloud, probing his thoughts through the temporary mark, soothing his restless sparks, helping him calm down.

Yin Bo let out a comfortable moan from his nostrils. Unlike the feeling forcefully suppressed by the equilibrium agent, the gentle comfort from the guide naturally smoothed out the turmoil deep inside him, without headaches, nausea, or any side effects, only a comfort and sense of belonging that words couldn’t describe.

Kazumi Koyama briefly pacified his mania, gradually extending his tentacles into his memory area, pausing at the edge, and asking through consciousness sensing, “Is it okay?”

“Mmmhmm,” Yin Bo answered with his eyes half-closed. “Didn’t I tell you before, if you want to know my identity, you have to come and get it yourself.”

Kazumi Koyama responded with a “Hmm” and slowly inserted his mental tendrils into his memory area.

As the sensing deepened, Kazumi Koyama “saw” the memories in Yin Bo’s mind, about his identity, about the NTU, about the Tartaros Project… After a while, he withdrew his mental tendrils, his face gradually showing a shocked expression.

As the red mist in Yin Bo’s eyes subsided, he met his gaze and smiled with a cute curve on his lips. “You got it?”

“I got it,” Kazumi Koyama’s voice was hoarse, his vertical pupils slightly wavering, murmuring, “You’re actually…” Although there were no monitors in the room, for safety reasons, he didn’t say the word “agent” and instead used mental sensing, [You’re actually an NTU agent!]

Yin Bo nodded. [I know you’re a scientist from Saint Martin. This experiment originally belonged to Saint Martin. You brought it here to seek support from the Second Army, but you were deceived by Lancer, right?]

Kazumi Koyama’s face flashed with a hint of panic, followed by a guilty expression. [Yes. I was too impulsive. I thought they would help improve the guide’s situation, after all, they have the army, which is more powerful than the Federation.]

[It’s because they control seventy percent of the Federation’s military power that they’re even more dangerous for the guide,] Yin Bo told him. [They were behind the Black Pearl case. We’ve been investigating it in secret. Admiral Darwin has already been tried, and General Lancer is behind him. I came to Tartaros this time to find further evidence.]

Kazumi Koyama closed his eyes and said, [I didn’t know about Admiral Darwin’s situation. I didn’t know they were the ones behind the Black Pearl case trying to steal the drug. I’ve been locked up here by them for months… God, I’m so stupid.]

Yin Bo wanted to say yes, you’re indeed too naive, but looking at his regretful expression, his heart softened instantly. He hugged him reassuringly and kissed the corner of his lips. [Don’t blame yourself. You were just deceived. Hmm, you scientists are all like this, ignoring everything for experiments… It’s not your fault. You’re not even a match for Lancer in intrigue. Damn it, it’s Lancer’s fault, it has nothing to do with you. You’re both victims.]

Kazumi Koyama obediently responded to his embrace, burying his face in the side of his neck. After a while, he said, [I regret it a lot. If I could undo all this, I’d rather be taken to court.]

Yin Bo sensed his inner pain. For a proud scientist, a proud free guide, there was nothing more cruel than having his achievements plagiarized, his pride trampled… Well, being forced into a blind date was damaging to one’s pride, even if the end result was having a sentinel as outstanding and willing to be a 0.5 like himself, the process was still humiliating.

“I won’t let you be taken to court,” Yin Bo reassured, patting his back. “I need your help. If you can help us uncover the secrets of the X-X Zone and find evidence of Lancer’s betrayal of the Federation, the NTU will apply for exemption from the court, including your mistakes, including our relationship.”

Kazumi Koyama held him silently for a moment, then shook his head and said, “This is difficult. The defense in the X-X Zone is very strict. If it’s only the medical research institute, maybe we can find some evidence, but if it involves the control center, weapon development center, etc., it’s simply impossible with just one or two people. Even with a strong sentinel and guide pairing, it’s not possible.”

“Weapon development center? There’s one here?” Yin Bo was surprised.

Kazumi Koyama said, “I’ve been here for months, and they’ve taken me to many places. I always use my consciousness to sense the surrounding structure each time, so I have a rough impression, but it’s not very complete.”

Tartaros was even more complex than they had imagined. Yin Bo felt very heavy-hearted. It seemed that what Jin Xuan said was true. Lancer had established such a high-security base in such a remote place. It truly encompassed all the secrets of the Second Army. It would be extremely difficult for just him and Kazumi Koyama to handle.

“I just wanted to find a sentinel to help me escape, so that’s why I said it’s possible half and half when you asked,” Kazumi Koyama said. “If you want to figure out the entire X-X Zone and collect all the evidence, I think you should send a large force here. Almost all the elite defense forces of the Second Army are gathered here, it’s like an impregnable fortress.”

“Alright.” The situation was too big for Yin Bo to come up with an immediate response. He could only think of ways to discuss with Jin Xuan. The bonding heat was making his head spin, even though Kazumi Koyama had just comforted him, he still felt restless. He involuntarily tightened his arms around Kazumi Koyama’s, and couldn’t help but lightly sniff at his cheek, licking his neck like a large feline would, “I’ll find a chance to discuss with my superiors. But before that, let’s finish what we have to do. Otherwise, we won’t be able to escape even if we try.”

Kazumi Koyama, breathing heavily, didn’t say anything more. He responded only with actions — gently pushing Yin Bo onto the bed, his slender fingers fondly touching his cheeks, his ears, and aggressively placing his thigh between Yin Bo’s legs.

His chameleon was fully revealed, its skin displaying spots of green and orange intermingling due to estrus, completely different from what Yin Bo saw on the car. Its colors were vibrant and beautiful. Its head crest stood up irregularly, a sign of excitement — even the most restrained guide would become restless when facing their first marking.

The dormitory was filled with thick pheromones, and the bonding heat bloomed in every corner like spring flowers, making people’s hearts race. Yin Bo felt slightly dizzy. He saw his panther anxiously pacing by the bed, completely different from its usual lazy and numb state. Its eyes were shining with thirsty green light, and its throat emitted a low rumbling sound. It occasionally tried to play with Kazumi Koyama’s chameleon with its large furry paw, but hesitated for fear of angering it, circling around the chameleon in a pitiful manner, almost crying out of frustration.

“Are you sure it’s a male panther? Why is it more indecisive than a girl?” Kazumi Koyama was speechless at the sight of the panther acting like a bullied wife. He had to use his consciousness to suppress his overly proud chameleon, allowing it to approach the panther actively. The chameleon, urged by its owner, reluctantly took a few steps and reached out its front paw to touch the panther, but missed. It then opened its mouth, and its long tongue extended out, playfully poking the panther’s paw.

“Reow!” The panther was startled and screamed, darting out about seven or eight meters away, almost jumping onto the corridor. The chameleon didn’t expect its spiritual mate to be so sensitive, and three black lines hung from its forehead as it waited for it to come back. Yin Bo’s panther was scared by it, cowering in the corner and refusing to come over, only staring at it with glowing green eyes.

After waiting for a while, the chameleon once again had three black lines hanging from its head. As a submissive partner that couldn’t even keep its 0.5, it let out a helpless chirp from its throat, crawling slowly toward the panther — seven to eight meters was quite a distance for its twenty-centimeter-long body, undoubtedly a difficult journey.

It’s truly depressing… The chameleon sighed silently.

“You… Can’t you comfort it and make your panther come over?” Kazumi Koyama felt the frustration of the quantum beast and had to stop his foreplay. He asked Yin Bo sincerely, “Is it a bit gender-confused, thinking it’s a female panther? Otherwise, why is it so… fragile?”

He couldn’t think of a kinder description, though he didn’t want to describe his sentinel with such a girly word.

Yin Bo wiped away his sweat. “I can’t comfort it. It’s been like this since it was young. Today, it’s already behaved better because of you.”

Kazumi Koyama was speechless. He had to use the sensing formed by marking to comfort Yin Bo’s panther. Fortunately, his consciousness was stronger than Yin Bo’s, and after a few minutes, he finally succeeded in coaxing it out of the corner and to approach the chameleon actively.

“Is it because of the 0.5?” Kazumi Koyama looked down at Yin Bo and smiled. The brief interlude with the animals had relaxed his originally tense mood. His aura of calmness and formality gradually faded away, and he appeared lively and gentle. He teasingly licked Yin Bo’s lips with his tongue, licked his nose, lifted his chin with his forehead, mimicking the actions of a sentinel marking Yin Bo. He chuckled, “Are you really sure you’re a 0.5?”

Yin Bo wiped his sweat again. He had just wanted to argue for 0.7, and now… Well, even 0.3 couldn’t be kept now
 Damn stupid panther! Ahhhhhhh!!!

“You’d better be gentle with me.” Yin Bo didn’t dare to dwell on the issue of numbers anymore, so he reluctantly untied the drawstring of his pants. “I’m telling you this because you comforted my panther. Although I’m a fertile male, I’ve always aspired to be the top. I’m a strong sentinel.”

“I’m a strong guide.” Kazumi Koyama was amused by his distorted expression. He kissed him, rubbing his legs together with his knee. “I’ve always aspired to find a cute and delicate girl… Well, a gender-confused male- will do, too. You’re cute, and your panther is… delicate.”

“You really don’t have to compliment me anymore.” Yin Bo was utterly defeated, lying flat on his back, arms spread out like a “性” character, “Unless you’re actually insulting me!”

“Are you angry? I don’t have much experience in pleasing boys, but you can teach me.” Kazumi Koyama’s voice was low and magnetic, half-serious and half-joking, as he continued to tease him, “You seem like an expert, a seduction expert…”

“Shut up.” Yin Bo hooked his waist and pulled him closer, “You can come in now. It’s best to stop these conversations that lose our integrity.”

“Alright.” Kazumi Koyama readily complied with his request. He sighed with satisfaction and whispered softly and gently in his ear, “Actually, I could consider subtracting a little too.”

Yin Bo, feeling both painful and pleasurable, was trying to relax his body. His eyes lit up at Kazumi Koyama’s words. “How much?”

“It depends on your performance.” Kazumi Koyama bit his earlobe and murmured softly, using the unique consciousness attack of a guide unknowingly, “Maybe 0.1, maybe 0.9. I’m your guide, I listen to you.”

Yin Bo was completely electrified by his gentle movements. He didn’t have time to dwell on the magical question of “Why is my guide still making advances on me?” Instead, he responded to his demands, using all the skills the NTU had trained him in, and fantasizing about the day when he would be 1-0.9, how he would do this and that to reclaim his lost integrity tonight.

“Putting theory into practice” can be really tricky.

The first marking always left people addicted. Throughout the entire night, the sentinel and guide were immersed in an irresistible pleasure, until they were exhausted and fell asleep embracing each other on the large bed.

Yin Bo’s biological clock was always more accurate than an electronic clock. Although they were in an underground building, he still woke up on time in the early hours of the morning. After the spiritual fusion, the quantum beasts were sleeping quietly. The panther was lying on the sofa, and the chameleon was squatting on the panther’s head, its tail hanging down just right on the panther’s nose. Its skin had turned dark due to color mimicry, with a few green spots visible on both sides of its abdomen — the afterglow of estrus.

Kazumi Koyama was also sleeping quietly, his forehead against Yin Bo’s shoulder, his long eyebrows slightly furrowed, faint wrinkles forming on his brow. The guide’s physical strength was far inferior to the sentinel’s, and excessive release had left him with a pale complexion and dark shadows under his lower eyelids. Yin Bo gently stroked his forehead with a finger, although the movement was very light, Kazumi Koyama woke up quickly. He opened his eyes, sat up alertly for a moment, then relaxed wearily, smiling tiredly at Yin Bo, “Oh, it’s you.”

“It’s still early, you can sleep a little longer.” Yin Bo sat up and put on his pajamas. “Your consciousness is very restless, I can feel it.”

Kazumi Koyama lay down again, evidently not yet recovered. He wiped his forehead and said, “It’s been months, and I haven’t been able to sleep well. They…” He stopped, looking towards the direction of the monitoring.

Yin Bo knew what he was worried about and said, “It’s okay, the monitoring has been shut down. It’s safe here for now.”

“Alright.”Kazumi Koyama sighed and said, “They’ve been monitoring me closely all the time. My consciousness is very sensitive, so I’ve been unable to sleep peacefully.”

“We’ll find a way out soon.” Yin Bo said, “If, as you said, this area is heavily defended and has multiple secret facilities, it’s indeed difficult for just the two of us to handle. Perhaps we can narrow the scope of the mission to within the research institute.”

“If it’s just the research institute, we can still find a way.” Kazumi Koyama propped his head with his hands and said, “I’ve been living here for months, and I’m very familiar with their internal structure. If you want to enter the management office inside the research institute, I can draw you a map and point out the fastest shortcuts, then use consciousness attacks to knock down all the guards along the way. But doing so will be discovered quickly, so you must copy the data in a very short time and then take me out… Um, can you fly a starship? Or do your people have a starship waiting?”

“Either way works. I can steal a shuttle to fly you out of the Tartaros defenses. We have a starship waiting outside the defense line.” Yin Bo said, “Or I can ask my superior. He might be able to pick us up outside the X-X Zone.”

“But this is bound to spook the other agencies, and you won’t be able to get any evidence from them.” Kazumi Koyama sounded regretful, “Once we make a move, they will definitely transfer the evidence quickly. It will be even harder to find evidence against Lancer in the future.”

“Yeah,” Yin Bo frowned.

“It’s a pity. I’m a chameleon guide, with outstanding attack power, but my suggestive abilities are not that good.” Kazumi Koyama thought of Mu Lai and said, “If my senior brother were here, it would be great. He’s an Icarus butterfly guide, with amazing suggestive abilities. He can easily erase the short-term memories of a person.”

“I… there are guides with such incredible abilities?” Yin Bo was astonished. He didn’t know much about guides; after all, registered guides in the Federation were mates of high-ranking officials. Which high-ranking official would allow others to research their other half?

“Yeah, he has a naturally strong suggestive ability, and he has been committed to training in this area for a long time.” Kazumi Koyama said, “I’ve seen him send suggestions to more than a dozen people at the same time, erasing their momentary memories and giving them a completely new one… You know, if he were here today, I would definitely take the time to learn from him. Unfortunately, I always focused more on attack power.”

“There’s no use talking about it now.” Yin Bo sighed, “Let me contact my superior first and let him decide what to do next.”

Kazumi Koyama caught up on his sleep in his dormitory, had lunch with Yin Bo at noon, and then went busy in the laboratory. Under Haynes’ urging, Yin Bo took some interference drugs and began to worry about the child problem — these people had prepared a lot of adult toys for them, but they hadn’t prepared any contraception tools. Kazumi Koyama had shot inside him several times last night. If this drug worked, maybe he could really conceive a guide in a few months.

Haynes was still afraid that he wouldn’t conceive, so after taking the interference drugs, he chased after him and gave him some fertility drugs, “It’s difficult for fertile males to conceive, so work hard!”

Yin Bo really wanted to slap him in the face: Work hard yourself!

After sending Haynes away, Yin Bo retreated to the blind spot of the bathroom and messaged Jin Xuan. Soon, the meal system prompted a new menu. Jin Xuan’s voice sounded very relaxed, indicating that things were going smoothly, “Did you enjoy last night?”

“…You could at least be dignified. After all, you’re my superior. Is being so lewd really okay?” Yin Bo got angry at the mention of this. How could he have let Kazumi Koyama seduce him like that? He didn’t even think of counterattacking all night! Blame that stupid panther!

“Oh, knowing that you enjoyed yourself makes me feel relieved.” Jin Xuan said with relief, “Chang Gong and Qian Hua are here today. They came as your elder brother and sister-in-law. The logistics officer couldn’t persuade the research institute to release people, so I had him bring your ‘siblings’ over. My and Gu Wen’s passes have also been extended for a few days, which should be enough for the operation to end.”

“I have some trouble here.” Yin Bo told Jin Xuan about Kazumi Koyama’s discovery, “He said it’s very difficult for just the two of us to get all the secrets of the entire X-X Zone. The defenses here are too tight. I suggest we focus on the research institute, and you, Chang Gong, and Qian Hua find a way to break through the other areas. Kazumi Koyama said he has a rough idea of the layout here and can provide us with a map.”

Jin Xuan was silent for a moment and said, “Yes, the entire X-X Zone covers 2.8 square kilometers. It’s difficult for just two people to obtain all the secrets without the other party noticing. I underestimated the situation. In that case, let Kazumi Koyama draw a detailed map first, and later when Chang Gong arrives, I’ll discuss it with him. The six of us will work together to get everything done as quickly as possible. The NTU team has set off from the capital and will arrive at Tartaros in a few days. We don’t have much time.”

“Got it.”

“Take care of yourself.” Jin Xuan was about to hang up the line, “Take care of Kazumi Koyama. Guide’s bodies are too weak and easily injured in battle. Don’t let him take risks. If anything unexpected happens, give up the mission, understand?”

“Understood.” Yin Bo thought to himself, why do I, with a guide, still need you, who doesn’t have a guide, to teach me? Just as he was about to say “Over,” he suddenly remembered what Kazumi Koyama had said to him earlier, so he blurted out, “By the way, Jin Xuan, it would be great if we had one more guide.”

“What?” Jin Xuan was stunned on the other end, “What do you mean?”

“Kazumi Koyama said if there’s a guide skilled in suggestion, like some Karu or whatever butterfly guide, perhaps the task could be completed,” Yin Bo said, “He mentioned he has a senior brother who is that type of guide. He can send suggestions to a group and erase the short-term memories of more than a dozen people at the same time. Should I ask him to tell us his brother’s name, so we can temporarily enlist his help?”

Jin Xuan fell into silence on the other end. Yin Bo scratched his head and continued, “Well, he’s a free guide, and I reckon his brother is too. If I use coercive means to make him reveal his brother’s identity, it might cost that person their freedom. He’ll definitely resent me.”

“I understand,” Jin Xuan said simply, “You don’t need to ask him. I’ll reconsider it. You guys focus on getting the map of the X-X Zone, and wait for my message.”

“Understood.”

Tartaros civilian hotel, After ending the communication, Jin Xuan furrowed his brows tightly, remaining silent for a long time. Eventually, Wu Chenghe broke the silence, “He was talking about Dean Mu, right?”

Jin Xuan nodded, “Icarus butterfly guide, Kazumi Koyama’s senior brother, a free guide… it can only be Mu.”

“I object to involving Dean in this,” Wu Chenghe stated firmly, “If we really need to go that route, I’ll go.”

I agree with WC, involving Mu isn’t a good idea. It’s not great that JX & WC are doing this, with Chenggong and Shengli waiting for their family. They’re missing all their children’s early stuff 😔
I really don’t want anyone to get hurt!
Thank you both for the chapter.
