Chapter 13: A brainless fan is the epitome of excellence

The cries for help from the fighting group became more and more desperate, and the smell of blood grew stronger, indicating that someone was seriously injured.

Wu Chenghe couldn’t control the crazy sense of responsibility deep inside him. Even though he knew he might end up being trampled into a pancake if he went over there, he still reluctantly squeezed in. He blocked those practicing martial arts while helping up the youths who were being trampled. “Classmate, how are you?”

The youth was probably a junior, looking weaker than him. He was covered in shoe prints, with a large piece of his forehead bleeding, crying with snot and tears, “Senior! I think my ribs are broken, it hurts so much, senior, save me…” After catching his breath, he suddenly shouted, “Marlow fans, get out of the campus network!”

Wu Chenghe was startled by his sudden change of slogan. His ears rang, feeling like his eardrums were about to shatter. He shook his head, wanting to kick him: Kid, do your parents know you’re so devoted to your idol?

But even crazy fans were human beings. Wu Chenghe couldn’t just ignore him because he was a crazy fan. He gently pressed on the injured boy’s chest, instructing him to breathe gently and exhale, frowning, “Your ribs may be cracked. This is a dangerous position. If they get another impact and break again, it could hurt your lungs.”

The weak youth became nervous when he spoke with certainty. He stopped shouting for Marlow fans to leave the campus network, gripping his hand and said in panic, “What should I do? Senior, save me, I can’t die. My dad went through seven artificial inseminations to have me. My family has been single for three generations, and I haven’t found a girlfriend yet…”

Wu Chenghe was speechless. Why was he so sad all of a sudden? Interrupting him, he said, “Don’t talk. Conserve your energy. I’ll take you to the school doctor.”

The weak youth nodded like a chick pecking at grains of rice, holding onto his arm as they squeezed out of the crowd. Wu Chenghe was already thin and small, making it difficult to move, especially with the burden of the injured boy. To protect him, he tried to keep him close to his chest, enduring several blows from those practicing martial arts along the way.

Finally, when they reached halfway, another group of people surged towards them. Wu Chenghe realized it was bad and was about to duck into the front row to avoid them when a strong hand grabbed his upper arm and forcibly dragged him back two rows.

Whether it was because the person had great strength or his skin was too tender, Wu Chenghe felt a sharp pain in his upper arm, as if his bones were being crushed. It hurt so much he almost screamed. After catching his breath, he was covered in cold sweat.

In the chaos, he couldn’t see who grabbed him. It took him a while to come to his senses, only to find that the weak boy he had been protecting was gone. He reached out to the front row to find him, “Classmate, hold onto me, I’ll pull you…” Before he could finish his sentence, his arm was grabbed again, and he was dragged back two rows.

Both times he was pulled by the same arm, causing him unbearable pain. He felt like he was going to become a one-armed hero. Unable to help himself, he yelled in pain. The person seemed startled and immediately let go, asking, “Are you okay?”

Tears almost welled up in Wu Chenghe’s eyes. He looked back and was surprised to find that the one who pulled him was his younger brother Marlow. He asked in confusion, “Why is it you?”

Marlow frowned coldly, completely disdainful of answering his unconstructive question. Without saying a word, he lifted him up onto his shoulders, his long legs stepping on the backs of chairs as he leaped through the crowd, effortlessly carrying him to the entrance of the auditorium.

Wu Chenghe hung upside down on his shoulder, his whole body swaying, feeling dizzy. When he was placed on the ground, he almost fell over. Marlow, holding his shoulder with two fingers, sneered, “Are you still a boy? Can you please stop being so weak? No wonder the old man repeatedly told me to take care of you. You’re really useless!”

Wu Chenghe also felt that something was wrong with himself at the moment. Although he was usually small and weak, he was extremely agile and coordinated in his movements. He didn’t know what was wrong today; he kept feeling like he was going to fall to the ground.

“Thank you.” Wu Chenghe didn’t want to argue with a sixteen-year-old boy. He thanked him and said, “I was just holding onto that little boy. Can you please help get him out? He’s injured, and if he gets trampled again, it could be life-threatening.”

“Take care of yourself first.” Marlow said coldly, opening the door of the auditorium. Seeing Wu Chenghe’s flushed face, unfocused eyes, and struggling breath, he asked suspiciously, “Why do you look so bad? It seems like you’re running a fever. Come on, I’ll take you to the school hospital. Damn it, how could the old man have such a weakling son like you?”

“Wait…” Wu Chenghe was too late to protest before being half-dragged, half-carried out of the auditorium.

The sunlight outside was glaring,Wu Chenghe stepped out and immediately felt a sharp pain in his eyes. He quickly lowered his head and covered his eyelids with his hands, saying, “I’m fine. Please go help me get him out. With so many people, he could be trampled to death.”

“Your condition is worse than his. Let’s focus on you first!” Marlow was about to be annoyed to death, pulling him towards the school doctor.

Wu Chenghe was in full saint mode, completely disregarding his own condition. Just the thought of that weak boy made him anxious and uncomfortable, scratching his heart like a cat. “Please, they’re fighting because of you. Don’t you have some responsibility for that injured kid? Can’t you just help a little?”

“It’s not like I told them to fight. It was King’s fans who started it, okay? Besides, didn’t that guy tell me to get out of the campus network? He’s a fan of King, so if anyone should take responsibility, it should be King himself. What’s it got to do with me?” Marlow gave him a disdainful look. “Some fans are beyond help. Let them fight it out.”

Dealing with kids and reasoning with them was too much trouble. It was better to do what he needed to do. Wu Chenghe had nothing more to say to his younger brother. He loosened his school uniform tie, unbuttoned his collar, and sighed in relief. “Forget it, if you’re not going, I’ll go by myself.”

Just as he was about to leave, a formidable figure blocked his way. It was a black-furred male caracal, sleek and muscular, with icy blue eyes glaring at him as if it would bite his throat if he took another step forward.

In a split second of hesitation, Wu Chenghe immediately realized that it was Marlow’s quantum beast — it was very similar to Lilith’s caracal, just slightly larger and with clearer patterns. Its gaze was fierce when looking at people.

I can’t see it! Wu Chenghe subconsciously hypnotized himself, his steps didn’t falter as he passed the caracal and headed towards the auditorium.

“Are you crazy?!” Marlow was exasperated, grabbing Wu Chenghe’s wrist. His caracal also rushed over and once again stood in front of Wu Chenghe, emitting a slight growl in the high-dimensional space.

Wu Chenghe was already adept at dealing with quantum beasts. In the blink of an eye, he stared into the icy blue eyes of the caracal and silently hypnotized himself: I can’t see you, go play somewhere else!

The caracal’s pupils contracted, accepting his suggestion. It turned its head and spotted another sentinel’s serpent, happily running over to play with it.

Watching his ferocious quantum beast frolic, Marlow’s expression froze for a moment. But when Wu Chenghe tried to return to the auditorium, he still stopped him, saying, “Charlie, you’re not right. I advise you to see a doctor immediately. Your face is red, and you’re running a fever. When I held your hand just now, your temperature was at least two degrees higher than mine. This is very dangerous! Anyway, don’t give me any trouble on the first day of school. I hate the old man’s nagging!”

Red face, fever, ringing in the ears, eye pain, sensitive skin… Wu Chenghe’s expression suddenly froze, a bolt of lightning flashed in his mind — something was wrong, he seemed to be going into estrus! No wonder he felt his ears buzzing and all sorts of strange smells invading his nostrils in the auditorium just now, making him dizzy… it must be because there were too many sentinels around, affecting him!

Wu Chenghe staggered, closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and said, “Sorry, I’m feeling a bit unwell. I need to go home. Could you please help me ask for leave from the teacher? I probably won’t be able to attend class tomorrow.”

“Hey, wait…” Marlow was taken aback by his sudden change. He hesitated for a moment and asked, “Aren’t you going to the school hospital?”

Wu Chenghe was scared out of his wits by Marlow, where would he dare to linger outside? He wished he could fly into Hannibal’s refrigerator with wings right away, hastily heading towards the parking lot. “No need, it’s nothing serious, just caught a cold. I’ll be fine after a good sleep.”

Marlow subconsciously felt something was wrong with him, while at the same time, he felt a strange scent emanating from Wu Chenghe’s body, which he couldn’t describe specifically, but it seemed particularly fragrant, sweet, and tempting.

“Wait.” Marlow’s pupils dilated, and he caught up, grabbing Wu Chenghe’s arm. His expression began to look bewildered. “What’s this smell… so sweet…”

Wu Chenghe’s liver was about to burst from being scared. How could he and Marlow be compatible? We’re brothers, born of the same father. Is compatibility supposed to be such a pain? This setting is just shameless, God!

“Listen to me!” Wu Chenghe had no choice but to take a risk. He turned back, grabbed Marlow’s shoulders with both hands, concentrated all his mental power, and stared into Marlow’s eyes, saying word by word, “I’m fine, I’m okay, I don’t have any scent, what you smell is the scent of lilac trees in the garden. The opening ceremony is over, and I’m going home now. Also, I’m normal!”

Marlow’s pupils suddenly contracted, then quickly dilated again. A look of confusion and relaxation appeared on his face. Wu Chenghe didn’t know if his mental suggestion had completely taken effect, but he didn’t have time. He even felt something flooding out of his brain like a tide. His pupils were contracting, his cochlea was trembling, his nostrils were emitting an unbearable dull pain due to the air friction, and every pore on his body was emitting a strange smell!

There were many sentinels in the school. If he didn’t leave immediately, he would be discovered by more people, and then it would be too late — his mental suggestion didn’t have the function of mass transmission yet!

Letting go of Marlow, Wu Chenghe quickly ran towards the parking lot, jumped into the flying saucer, and blasted off like a rocket without even warming up. His heart was beating like a drum, his hands were shaking so much he couldn’t hold the controller, Wu Chenghe sat in the driver’s seat, cursing the ancestors of the presidential family in his heart.

Damn King! Damn King’s fans! If it weren’t for their stupid fan war, how could I be in such a miserable state?!

Emo guys can all go die!

Although they had never met, at this moment, the unfortunate Doctor Wu hated King to the core! One fan outweighs ten haters…
