Chapter 56: A God’s Marriage (27)

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: GaeaTiamat

Although he promised that he would call him every time he went out, Yun Chi was actually reluctant to call Sa’gya’s name until it was an emergency.

If he hadn’t been so disappointed, he wouldn’t have chosen to hide on a deserted island and live alone for a long time, and neither would his God.

It was because his arrival had turned the cemetery into a heaven for them alone that Yun Chi was reluctant to let Sa’gya out so easily. If he wanted his wounds to heal, it was better to start with no contact and especially less contact with stressors.

The priest was furious. He hit the ground hard with his scepter. There was a heavy muffled sound, and the red jade ground seemed to be splashed with rippling echoes, as the man shouted, “Take this traitor down!”

Behind the overlapping light gold tents, a dozen sword-bearing guards in bronze cavity armor suddenly flashed out. They were crowned with feathers, and though not as tall as Sa’gya, compared to Yun Chi, they were much taller and stronger. Their left hands were equipped with a shield carved with wind spirits, while their right hands held finely crafted spears, not only with a broad head but also with sharp steel spikes at the end.

Yun Chi knew a rich young man on Earth who specialized in collecting ancient weapons, and his collection was not limited to the East and the West. Among them was a three-meter-long bronze spear, a perfect remnant from the Macedonian dynasty, which was the man’s heart. The rich young man once pointed to the spear and proudly showed off to Yun Chi that the spear was specially assigned to the heavy infantry. Only for when the battle on the field was at its most fierce, because the design of the weapon was such that they couldn’t continue to use the spear after the head was broken, but also because in the moment of knocking down the enemy, when they turned the direction to give the enemy a fatal blow, could the speed of the enemy really be reached.

At this moment Yun Chi looked at this scene, he immediately felt terrible.

There is no need for this! I’m just a bare-handed human, and this body’s age on Earth is not even that of an adult. There is no need to be so hostile. Using war equipment to mess with me? I scolded your priest. There is no life without scolding, the big deal is that I won’t apologize to him!

He positioned himself as a human, while that martial guard was really not very human-like. Bronze cavity armor, shields and spears, plus their own weight…the weight of this set, he was afraid, was more than 400 pounds, but when they moved, not even a sound could be heard. They fluttered swiftly, like a group of flickering ghosts, and were suddenly less than a meter away from Yun Chi.

His pupils narrowed as the tip of the spear sliced through the air and jabbed at his abdomen.

The sound of the wind caused by this blow was actually like a violent whistle.

Yun Chi stared at the martial arts guard, and his mind only had time for a single thought.

Damn, but people should not play fast and loose with words. Even with the protection of the divine clothes, I think I still…!

The situation no longer allowed him to think carefully, the spear was close, the sharp tip against the small of his back. The martial arts guard’s arm muscles began to fire, the light was also playing on a loop, and then…And then there was no more.

Yun Chi lowered his head, raised it again, and spoke, “Why are you just poking, ah? What good is a pose with no one behind you to take pictures?” He said, muddled from fright. “You didn’t eat breakfast, right?”

If he could talk, the martial arts guards would also be tempted to scream their bitterness.

Poke, I would like to poke!

The martial guards guarding the priests were all carefully selected from a young age and good seedlings.

They followed the wind tower priest for many years. Their flesh, blood and bones were soaked in the breath of the Wind God.

Yun Chi was right when he estimated that the spears they used were nearly 80 pounds in weight.

If it were the battlefield, those eighty pounds could cut a galloping war horse in half, but here, the martial arts guards only felt that the tip of their spears were against the impenetrable statue of God in the temple. Forget advancing, it was difficult to back up.

The surroundings went silent. Yun Chi reacted and laughed. So Sa’gya’s divine clothes were so powerful!

He gently grabbed the spear and pushed forward. Originally he wanted to let the martial guard not stand there looking silly. The bowing action was oddly stupid, but he didn’t expect that his push would make him fall over. The martial guard was like a bowling ball hit by a siege hammer, and actually flew straight out, violently smashed into three companions, accompanied by a loud clang, then crashed into the high platform behind!

Yun Chi was dumbfounded. His jaw dropped, and he inspected his hands, and then looked up at the stacked human bodies.

What’s going on here, am I that strong?

He turned his head to look around again, and wherever his gaze went, the martial guards retreated, as if they were afraid of being stabbed by his eyes.

“Hmph…” Yun Chi laughed out loud this time as he pushed up his sleeves and began to climb up the ladder. “Trying to catch me, are you? Laying a hit on me, are you?”

The priest stared at him incredulously. “No…No! Who are you? You’re not Ondemol! You’re not a God-family member, a God-family member couldn’t have done this. Who the hell are you?!”

“Did I say I’m a God-family member?” Yun Chi approached the priest’s throne as he ripped away the draped golden veil. “It’s all in your head! Now you know to be afraid?”

“Stop him, stop him!” The priest shouted in panic. “Don’t let him get close, stop him!”

The guards who were standing far away began to throw their swords and spears at Yun Chi, but they were all bounced away by the glow of the divine garment. The guards who were closer tried to pull Yun Chi’s ankle, but they were pinned to the ground by Yun Chi with one hand.

He originally learned how to do small takedowns, but in this situation, Yun Chi dared not use joint techniques on the guards, as he was afraid he might tear the arms off the people. The only way was to abandon his skills and just hit them to the ground.

When Yun Chi slapped the priest and grabbed his collar, the other party was already shivering with fear and couldn’t say anything at all.

Roche’s priest looked like a middle-aged man who had been pampered. He wore luxurious robes, had a white beard, and his face was outlined with glowing gold powder – so that when he was hidden in the shadows, his appearance was that of another person.

“What do you want by bringing me here?” Yun Chi pressed. “Tell me the truth, or I’ll throw you off the side!”

The priest was stuck by Yun Chi’s hand on his neck. Even though he was scared enough, he still held on to his neck, “You are…If you can’t serve the Gods, you should die as a sacrifice to them! Instead of turning to another God…”

Yun Chi raised his fist and made a move to hit him. The priest trembled and spoke several times faster, “…You can’t hit me! I’m the High Priest of the Gods! Attacking me is like declaring war on a God. You wouldn’t dare to start a war, you wouldn’t dare!”

Yun Chi only found it funny. You dare to arrest me, but that isn’t considered starting a war against the One God, but if I counter-attack, it’s called igniting the fuse of war?

“You can’t be so double standard,” Yun Chi looked at him curiously. “So you arrested me and shouted to kill me, but that’s not a call to start a war?”

The priest laughed coldly, “For this is the rule…You are a human sacrifice to the Lord God. The Lord God has not yet decided to give you up, so your fate is still in the hands of the Lord God and you can not let yourself…”

“Such bullshit!” Yun Chi was now really angry. “My life is not my own, but Roche makes the decision for me? I don’t care if you’re used to being a dog, but you need to stop throwing the leash around me and expecting to drag others to be a dog with you, do you understand?”

The priest’s golden-shaded eyes widened, and in that moment of Yun Chi’s anger and distraction, his elongated fingertips reached for the shaft of his scepter, he took a deep breath, clenched his knuckles, and snarled, “God of Storms, lend me the right hand that can bring destruction, lend me the divine joy that can crush ships and hopes, so that I can repel this bold offender who dares to defile your territory with his arrogance!!”

The crystal at the head of the staff exploded with an incomparable light, striking Yun Chi with such force that he let go of the priest’s collar and took several steps backward. The priest used his hands to cover the overabundance of the divine light, still trying to find a way to watch the enemy vaporize and die.

After a few moments, the light gradually faded, Yun Chi was standing intact in the light, except for the camouflage that Sa’gya had laid down for him. That was offset by the divine power of the God of Storms and disappeared for a brief moment.

“What game, □□□□?” 1

Completely speechless, the priest collapsed onto his throne, and gasped for air. Even though Yun Chi quickly reverted to his plain attire, he had seen!

–the divine garment. It was the divine garment. The creation of the Goddess of Weaving, taken from the four strands of spider silk in the morning and dusk, symbolizing the beginning and end of the day, mixed with the light of the sun and moon, blended with the tears of the sea of stars, made only for the noble gods of duty. Don’t speak about wearing it. He, as the High Priest of Samar, after serving the gods in a long career, could only look and that would be considered an honor.

His shocked gaze turned to Yun Chi’s face, just wanting to say something, but he suddenly froze.

He looked at Yun Chi’s ear. The covering hair was blown by the gale and had revealed the golden circle mark.

“Stigmata…Stigmata!” The priest whispered tremblingly. “So you are a Bride of God, you are…”

Yun Chi was taken aback and hurriedly covered his ear, then with a steady, accurate and vicious punch, hit the priest in the face so that he immediately passed out.

What did you say? Stigmata? But this was the bite mark from Sa’gya. What was a holy mark? If you want, you can also let Roche bite your face, ah!

No, I don’t care about this now. The noise just now was too big. Maybe the whole city is concerned about…Maybe Roche is concerned! I have to run quickly.

Yun Chi jumped down, kicked away the paralyzed military guards, ran to the window to look down, and suddenly froze.

He had thought he was in the palace of the king’s court, which, although far from the city gates, was at least still flat. But now he had a bird’s eye view. The houses were like peanuts, crowds like sesame seeds, and the road seemed to bifurcate the water. By standing at that height, he could even see at a glance the horizon of the ice sea.

No wonder Yan Yan hadn’t found him after half a day. What flat land, this bullshit priest actually teleported him to the wind tower!

“Yan Yan–!” Yun Chi couldn’t care less, as he shouted. “I’m here, do you hear, I’m here!”

“Yes, I waited and listened.” A deep voice rang out next to him. “I’m sorry to let you be taken away. It’s a serious dereliction of duty on our part. We’ll bring you down.”

Yun Chi turned his head to see only a small snake of mud right around the window, spitting at him.

“Wow, so fast,” Yun Chi was startled for a moment. “But how are you going to bring me down?”

The snake swelled and coiled violently, making a smooth escalator around the tower. “Is this okay?”

Yun Chi laughed a little and he said excitedly, “Yes! Just don’t let me fall!”

“We guarantee with our lives that we will not,” Yan Yan said in a deep voice.

There was a commotion of people behind him. The other guards who were protecting the wind tower must have come, so Yun Chi couldn’t care less. He jumped and started racing down, pretending he was playing a thrilling game of surfing.

“How did you find me!” Yun Chi said loudly in the wind.

“I waited and found the light at the top of the tower,” Yan Yan replied. “The design of this temple isolates the mud, so we did not find your trail in time. Please forgive me.”

Yun Chi shouted quickly, “It’s nothing–! I faced and beat up that priest, haha!”

“You beat him up?” Yan Yan said nervously. “Did he do something to you? Do you need us to take care of it?”

“Uh, I’ll talk to you later!”

As he slid to the bottom of the tower, Yun Chi was gently bounced up by a big soft mud bubble from the swamp then landed safely and soundly.

Yan Yan rushed over to check on him and asked anxiously, “Lord, are you all right?”

“I’m fine,” Yun Chi patted his buttocks and trouser legs, “it’s just that priest. He said something at first…that I betrayed the family and the gods, so he was going to imprison me in a big jail? Then he shouted for a group of soldiers to arrest me, ooh, that battle! Simply finished it in a second.”

Yan Yan’s face was already as waxy as dirt, but when he heard that, it was simply vaguely black.

“I originally thought I was going to suffer a bit, but I didn’t expect it!” Yun Chi gestured excitedly. “I just knocked them all down. Even the little tackles I learned were useful.”

Yan Yan immediately sighed with relief.

“Later, the priest used the scepter on me. It was fine, but he seemed to see the mark on my ear.” Yun Chi troubled touched his ear gold seal. “And said something like, this is the stigmata, I am the Bride of God…Something like that.”

Yan Yan froze. Yun Chi didn’t notice his strange state and shook his head. “Sa’gya told me, about the Bride of God, and this thing shouldn’t be about that.”

“Then the priest,” Yan Yan asked sharply. “Is he still alive?”

Yun Chi said in amazement, “Yes, he is! Although I beat him so much that his face was covered with blood, and maybe his nose was broken…But I didn’t kill him! Don’t worry, he is at least Roche’s priest. If he gets hurt, Roche will come looking for trouble.”

No, if he lives, it will be the biggest trouble. Of course, that matter was certainly something he could handle.

Yan Yan smiled, and he easily echoed Yun Chi, “Yes, you are right.”

From the shadow beneath his feet, a mud bubble soundlessly exploded, then an earthy scorpion quietly swam out of it and went towards the direction of the high tower.
