Chapter 97: Dark Sky Sanctuary (32)
Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations
Editor: GaeaTiamat
The magic-soaked metal twisted with an ear-splitting sound. Yu Mengzhou had chosen to start with the surrounding blades first.
He reamed off the long, wide blades and crushed the short, oddly shaped spikes, and soon the floor was covered in a layer of mangled, blood-colored, rusty black gold.
“So…”
The air was too still, so Yu Mengzhou began to blurt out words, “What kind of environment do you like?”
Falchion didn’t understand his question, “What kind of environment?”
“Is it slightly humid, or is it on the dry side?” Yu Mengzhou spun and twisted off a large, narrow, feathery blade, then dropped it crisply to the ground. “According to the climate of the Demon Realm, I’m guessing you guys prefer a dry climate…But damp places have more trees, so it’s better for hiding.”
“Why hide?” Falchion asked in disbelief.
“Definitely need to hide a bit!” Yu Mengzhou said. “Your appearance. At a glance, anyone could see you aren’t a species from Earth, and if many people see you, it will cause a big mess.”
“Shouldn’t be a problem,” Falchion said. “Does your world have magma in the center of the earth?”
“Magma…It’s in the soft current layer?” Yu Mengzhou replied cluelessly. “As for geocentric magma, that’s probably there…” 1
“The original power contained in the earth’s core magma was the starting point of the Demon Realm. It can create all things, and it can also dissolve all things,” Falchion patiently explained. “It’s fine without it, so we’ll draw power from within the earthly core, and mix it with our magical powers to create a realm that can reverse the perception of life around us. Then all beings that look at us will automatically see our normal counterparts. How big can our range of movement be?”
Yu Mengzhou’s mouth dropped open. “How big do you want it to be?”
“Your world is measured in planets,” Falchion mused. “Which is very different from the Demon Realm…Would it be all right if I made a trip to the core of your world? I am the original Demon Horse, and there I could create a realm that has the same power as the other, but the encircling realm will be able to expand to an entire planet. What do you think?”
Yu Mengzhou spoke slowly, “You have to…twist…the entire planet’s…cognition…?”
“It’s not a bad idea to do it once and for all,” Falchion explained seriously. “You see, once you caused Angola’s annihilation, it was only after his death that I was able to completely free myself from the spell spikes’ confinement and take back my true power…So, I also want to show my strength for you. I don’t want you to think that I’m useless. That would really be a dereliction of duty on my part as a male.”
Yu Mengzhou was choked by his words about demonstrating his strength for him. That was a really blunt way of saying it.
He still hesitated, “That’s not good. the Earth’s Core is very important, and if something goes wrong in the chain reaction…Do you have any illusions or anything like that? You can put it on yourselves so that others can’t see your real bodies.”
Falchion was lost. “But that method would be too easy.”
Yu Mengzhou laughed as he crisply cut off a clump of knives, “I don’t need you to prove yourself for me. I know you’re good, and that’s enough.” He then frowned worriedly. “It’s just that it’s been hundreds of years, and I’ve been in the Dream world for so long, I don’t know what’s become of the situation on Earth…”
“The energy required to cross worlds is extremely large,” Falchion said. “Large enough to reverse the flow of time and tear the link between two worlds. It’s possible that you could have been here for a hundred years while only a day and night pass over there, or it’s possible that you could breathe here for three seconds and three years have passed over there. The Demon Realm has been disconnected from Earth for so many years that even I’m not sure what’s going on over there.”
After he thought about it, he asked, “Is there still magic on Earth now?”
Yu Mengzhou was baffled by his question and bit his lip for a long time. “No, right…?”
“Are you sure?” Falchion pressed. “Different worlds have different names for it, but the earth that magic passes through will undergo strange changes, and the beings that live there will be more demonic and live longer…Really?”
Yu Mengzhou now affirmed, “There really isn’t.”
“So it’s a magic-poor vacuum…” Falchion nodded. “Then you can rest assured, comparing a world empty of magic and Hell, the difference in time flow could exceed three hundred to one. Even if you have lived here for a thousand long years, when converted to Earth time, time has only passed a little more than three years.”
“True or false!” Yu Mengzhou was shocked. “Only three years have passed…? Wait, it’s already been three years! Geez, I guess everyone thought I was dead…No, come to think of it, I am indeed dead, even in Hell…”
Forget it, there was no use thinking about it now.
If only about three years had passed on Earth, then there was still hope that everything could be salvaged. He could totally say that a distant relative who made a fortune passed away, and in order to fulfill the requirement of inheriting the other party’s property, he trained in the deep forest for several years…Exactly! Such a legendary reason combined both the dogma of a soulmate and the bullshit of a storytelling session. People would love to hear it!
He thought to himself as he began to tug at the battle armor embedded in the flesh. The sounds of dripping blood and flesh coming one after the other could literally glue one’s ears together. Yu Mengzhou’s face scrunched up, but Falchion still stood still, not shivering at all from the pain.
He pulled out the long four-sided nails buried in the flesh, reamed off the copper rings and red-hot copper chains, then lifted off the fragmented battle armor piece by piece, to expose the whale and do the cleanup, only, those barnacles didn’t have sharp spikes, nor did they have the dense teeth of the swords.
Blood drenched the newly laid velvet blanket. Yu Mengzhou used great effort to pull out the two pieces of spine armor embedded in his back muscles.
Fortunately, Falchion’s recovery ability was also amazingly terrifying. The moment a torture device left his body, the flesh on the sides began to intertwine and repair the wound, and by the time Yu Mengzhou finished throwing away the garbage in his hands and looked up again, the skin on the injured area was only lightly reddish, so it was actually already healed.
After the healing, the horse’s body was fresh and loose, and without those vicious and hideous weapons, Falchion’s fur was as black as a mirror, and shone with a satin luster.
Yu Mengzhou gasped and kicked hard at the mountain of blood-soaked broken armor, which sputtered and clattered.
“For a change,” he instructed. “Hooves. Time to fix them.”
Then again, he was in a spirit body now, and he shouldn’t feel tired, so why did he just want to catch his breath at that moment, even as his eyelids sank in exhaustion?
Couldn’t figure it out. He had more important things to do.
Yu Mengzhou shook his head and stared at Falchion’s hooves. Since the horse and man had been ordered not to move, he was still obediently looking ahead, while his hands were hanging down honestly.
“Let’s see…” Yu Mengzhou sighed. “You’re really suffering with your hooves.”
Falchion stood quietly. He didn’t dare say anything.
Compared to Bloody Butcher, who had been infested with live snakes; Radiant Angel, who was devoured by life-suppressing worms; and Deathstar, who directly reproduced parasitic females; there were no living creatures in Falchion’s hooves. Even if there were, they wouldn’t be able to live on the original Demon Horse.
It was just that the torture device that had never been removed from the top, and coupled with the spell nails that had come together, it was on the verge of causing the sole of the hoof to fall apart as well.
Yu Mengzhou shook his head, and in accordance with the old rules, he knocked off the copper wedges covered with complicated spells one by one, then pried loose the thorns and barbs embedded in the hoof surface. Until the bottom of the hoof was shoveled clean, he proceeded to shave off the old hoof cuticle, and then used the hoof clippers and hoof file, trimmed off the sharp edges of the hoof, and polishing the rough hoof surface.
After the four hooves were trimmed in turn, he couldn’t wait for the hoof oil to be applied. Yu Mengzhou just got up when he couldn’t help but feel a wave of dizziness, and had to lean on Falchion’s hot horse’s belly before he could barely stand up straight.
“Oh!” His eyes were a bit blurry. “What’s going on with me?”
The centaur turned around in a hurry, not caring about Yu Mengzhou’s injunction. He hugged the youth in his hands, only to feel that his weight was so light that his soul body became a bit transparent.
“You’re running out of stored magic,” Falchion said gravely. “Did The Weaver imbue you with it all before?”
Yu Mengzhou sniffled and curled up dizzily on Falchion’s chest, no longer able to show the valor he had previously displayed when he wielded the hammer and rebuked the group’s king. He felt that he was really weak, pitiful and helpless at the moment, but it was the sturdy and powerful muscles of the centaur that emitted a tantalizing glow that made him drool.
“Yeah, yeah…” he replied dizzily. “Yes…Weaver…”
“Cheap stuff.” Falchion made a disgusted and contemptuous comment about the former Demon Lord’s strength and turned to Yu Mengzhou. “Bite me.”
Yu Mengzhou, “…What?”
“You need magic power!” Falchion explained anxiously. “Right now you’re not in a fully solidified state, so you need to have a large amount of magic power as a supplement, and the most effective way to do that is to draw it directly from me.”
The centaur lowered his voice and looked at Yu Mengzhou earnestly with scarlet and ghostly pupils. “Bite me. You’re hungry, and I will feed you. Please let me feed you…”
Yu Mengzhou’s brain was completely lost, he couldn’t hear how misleading Falchion’s words could be, and just subconsciously asked, “Bite where?”
“Anywhere.” Falchion held him in front of his body, as he let the youth snuggle close to him, then whispered in his ear, “I am the original source of magic power, so no matter where you bite, you will be able to eat your fill.”
Yu Mengzhou hummed weakly against the nape of his neck, then without hesitation, he opened his lips and took a bite of Falchion’s collarbone.
Falchion’s body tensed as he took a deep breath, and his fingers, which were squeezing the human’s waist and abdomen, also twitched slightly and involuntarily.
Nowadays in the Demon Realm, if anyone dared to covet the Emperor’s power, then Falchion wouldn’t mind doing as the other party wished. His instantaneous outputs of magical power were as violent and surging as tsunamis. Even the most ancient great demons couldn’t hold on for a second, and they could only be turned into puddles of conscious pus and blood under the might of the Original.
But the human…He opened his soft lips, half-lightly, and left two small rows of teeth marks on his skin. He grunted greedily, and happily, as he made a pleasant snorting sound…Plus every drop of magic that filled him was like a thread that connected them both, making them closer and breathing as if they were gradually becoming one.
The more he ate, the more satisfied Falchion became, while at the same time, the sadder he became. He could even feel the shape of his mouth changing from the sucking, while the hot tip of the human’s tongue…Fine sweat was already seeping from the corners of the Emperor’s forehead as he swallowed hard. The demon’s pupils dilated and contracted, as they glowed insatiably in the torment of pleasure.
Haha, great meal!
With the other party, Yu Mengzhou was oblivious to the fact that in Falchion’s arms, his eyes were slightly closed and he was so happy that he was about to twist up. The pure magic power was like a trickling stream that flowed through his esophagus without any hindrance, and then filled his entire body.
In comparison, The Weaver’s level was really not enough. With Falchion’s supply, he would have no problem beating ten more Angolas, he thought!
Unconsciously, he snored a fitful little snore. Falchion wrapped one arm around him, while the other slowly rubbed his chest, relieving him of some of the blocked magical energy.
Yu Mengzhou didn’t complain about the strange position, after all he was the one who just had to decide to bite Falchion’s collarbone, right? So their actions were just the optimal solution based on the situation at hand.
He couldn’t be blamed if he slowly fell asleep amidst the warm feeling of fullness and Falchion’s gentle rubbing. It was just that he felt safe and cozy, so he couldn’t suppress the urge to sleep soundly. Humans couldn’t resist their biological clocks after all. It was the habit of almost everyone to want to sleep when they had a full stomach, and Yu Mengzhou was certainly not exempt from that.
Yeah, no surprise there. He really appreciated Falchion’s generous offer, and the position between them was likewise not strange at all.
“Had enough?” Falchion’s voice was muffled beyond recognition as he couldn’t help but tempt Yu Mengzhou. “Eat some more…Okay?”
Yu Mengzhou shook his head vaguely, and his legs gradually fell down. Falchion stabilized the human’s body, only to place him in the large nest that had been piled up earlier.
As he looked at the serene expression on the human’s sleeping face, Falchion had to take another deep, shuddering breath.
There was no need to rush. The lights went out, and his deep, handsome face took on a chilling look of greed and hunger at the same time.
What a patient hunter the devil is. I am fully…There’s no need to hurry.
In the past few days, Yu Mengzhou was very happy.
The divided herd was gradually coming together, although there was still a little bit of friction and dispute, but everything was developing in a good direction.
Everyone enthusiastically packed their bags and made arrangements for their departure, and there was a happy atmosphere of “the company is going to take a long paid vacation and we won’t have to work overtime anymore, so we decided to go on a spring trip” all around.
He also found a chance to knock Striker, Crusade and Catastrophe on the head. Striker cried, Crusade was in tears, and Catastrophe huffed and puffed…But they were soon coaxed out of it! Being a rider meant that you had to be clear about rewards and punishments, and you couldn’t have a horse that did something wrong without consequences, but when it was pampered, carrots and sugar cubes were still available in unlimited quantities.
In addition, he and Falchion were getting closer and closer. He wondered if it was because of the magic transfer. Now when they guessed each other’s thoughts, it was getting more and more accurate. Being in tune with a horse’s mind, for a rider, was really a great thing.
These days, he was lying on Falchion’s horse’s back every day, as he let the Demon Horse carry him around, and also played games with the snakes’ tail that pestered him.
When Falchion’s demon ministers saw him, with the aura around him they didn’t dare come out. They were all scared witless, and didn’t dare speak. On one hand, it was because they saw their violent and wanton monarch holding him on his back for fear of melting or in his hands for fear of falling; on the other hand, it was purely because they had heard about Yu Mengzhou’s achievements. Not only did he single-handedly kill the former King of Rebellion, Angola, but he also came straight into the capital and directly whacked the current Emperor to the point that he fainted.
Therefore, even though Falchion himself told them that he and the recently reconciled Princes would be leaving the royal capital in a matter of days, and that they needed to choose a few regents for Hell, none of the ministers, however, had the guts to go and bribe the human chosen by the Demon Realm so that Yu Mengzhou would put in a good word for them.
“Fun?” Bloody Butcher looked at Yu Mengzhou in bewilderment. He was laying upside down on Falchion’s freshly cleaned back, and entwined with the serpents’ tail for fun. “Play with mine too?”
After he said that, he turned and handed over his snakes’ tail to Yu Mengzhou.
“Falchion’s tail can tie knots!” Yu Mengzhou said. “Yours doesn’t.”
Knots….Is it a big deal if it can tie knots?!
Bloody Butcher angrily ran back and tried to order his tail to tie a knot, but after half a day’s attempts, which were still unsuccessful, he couldn’t help but angrily chastise his snakes’ tail for a long time.
If he counted the first time as replenishing his magic, the second time Yu Mengzhou had a close encounter with Falchion was when he ran off to the palace’s hall of books and stayed until he was so tired of reading that he fell asleep.
As soon as the attendant in charge of the books saw him lying on the table, he hurriedly sent his armed guards to inform Falchion.
In only a moment, Falchion arrived. He probed and looked at Yu Mengzhou who was pressed in his arms.
A spirit body wouldn’t fall asleep so easily. Was he really sleepy or hungry?
Falchion pressed his lips to his ear and asked in a low voice, “Do you want to eat?”
Yu Mengzhou was half-asleep and half-awake. He didn’t know what he was talking about, he just heard a familiar voice and answered with an unknown meaning.
Well, that would be to eat.
Falchion nodded his head with certainty and carefully tapped his index finger on the human’s lower lip.Yu Mengzhou caught a whiff of rich magical aroma, reflexively opened his mouth and took in Falchion’s fingertip.
Wait, I’m not hungry, he thought in a daze, where did I bite him this time?
…Ugh, never mind. What do I care if I’m hungry or not, more food is better. Eat.
He held Falchion’s hand and didn’t let go until he arrived in that fluffy, open bird’s nest bed that he loved so much.
In a haze, Falchion lay beside him, and patted his back gently with his free hand. They were so close together, the centaur’s lower jaw resting against the top of his hair, and Yu Mengzhou was held neatly against Falchion’s chest.
Luckily, he said to himself, I fell asleep and took over Falchion’s bed, and he doesn’t have any other beds so he’s going to sleep here, not to mention I’m holding his hand…Oh, so we’re right next to each other.
Nice. It’s nothing. He nodded affirmatively in his dream state. Everything was normal.
Curled up on the cozy warm fluffy bed, Yu Mengzhou smiled and fell into a deep sleep.
Author’s Note:
Falchion: *doesn’t move, looks calm* Are you going to bite me?
Yu Mengzhou: *begins to panic* What, why would I bite you?
Falchion: *remains calm* Because you’re hungry, it’s a legitimate need.
Yu Mengzhou: *contemplates for a moment and begins to relax* Oh, I guess you’re right… I’m going to bite your collarbone then!
Falchion: *doesn’t move, looks calm* Are you going to take my finger?
Yu Mengzhou: *begins to panic* What, why would I want to suck on…Why would I want to hold your finger?
Falchion: *still calm* Because you’re hungry again, and that’s a legitimate need.
Yu Mengzhou: *contemplates again for a moment and begins to relax* Oh, I guess you’re right…Give me your finger then!

I wonder if they really will be able to leave and live with YM on earth and, if so, whether they will retain their appearance.
Thank you all for the chapter.
Is something wrong with Yu Meng Zhou? I hope not.
