Chapter 65: Jiang Yuhao and Du Siyue

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Lin Su asked, “So the reason you two crossed paths was because you went to watch Jiang Yuhao take a shower?”

Du Siyue frowned. “I didn’t watch him shower. I just went to see him shoot a body wash commercial.”

Lin Su pressed on, “Then why did you go watch Jiang Yuhao shoot a body wash commercial?”

Du Siyue replied confidently, “Because I invested money in it.”

Lin Su blinked, “You invested in body wash?”

Du Siyue nodded, “I invested in the resort that hired him for the commercial.”

Lin Su went silent. But Du Siyue thought it made sense. He had gotten up at five in the morning, flown straight to Hucheng, and was there to inspect the resort’s operation. If someone was shooting a commercial, well, he might as well check it out.

The resort’s manager was Du Siyue’s buddy, Zong Teng, who personally drove to pick him up at the airport. On the way, Zong Teng asked, “Jiang Yuhao? The guy who was trending with you recently, right? I remember the fans on both sides were really fierce. I thought you two didn’t get along.”

Du Siyue didn’t bother correcting him that he had no fans. Instead, he struck a celebrity pose, “We don’t get along.”

Zong Teng looked puzzled. “Then why did you come all this way?”

Du Siyue answered calmly, “Just to watch.”

He thought of himself as a cold, calculating godfather, but Zong Teng thought he was just bored and had nothing better to do.

By the time they arrived at the hotel, the shoot was halfway done. The director called “Cut!” and an assistant quickly helped Jiang Yuhao put on his robe and handed him a thermos cup. Inside was some freshly brewed bitter and sour ‘medicine.’ After drinking it, Jiang Yuhao casually tossed the cup aside, threw on his robe, and turned away with a scowl. “Continue.”

Du Siyue, who had just entered and gotten handed a thermos cup: ?

2.

Jiang Yuhao’s body was impressive — chest and abs that looked like they belonged in a museum. His gaze was icy cold. Standing among the crowd, Du Siyue thought he looked more like a psychopathic killer than a commercial model. A chainsaw commercial would suit him better.

After the next scene, the assistant quietly approached, “Yu Ge, I told the director earlier, we’re wrapping up early today. You should get some rest.”

Jiang Yuhao asked, “Where’s my cup?”

The assistant blinked, “Huh?”

Jiang Yuhao repeated, “My cup.”

The assistant hurried to look for it. Five minutes later, he came back with a shocked and guilty expression. “Boss, your cup was left on the table next to the trash can.”

Jiang Yuhao: “…”

3.

Du Siyue didn’t stay to watch the entire shoot. After less than half an hour in the room, Zong Teng dragged him off to check out a new project, fulfilling his duty as an overbearing CEO. They didn’t return to the resort until around nine at night, both yawning and exhausted.

After his shower, someone rang the doorbell. Du Siyue assumed it was room service delivering fruit, so lazily said, “No need.” But the doorbell kept ringing—louder and more insistently, a nonstop ding-ding-ding. A resort with this level of service was doomed to fail. Du Siyue swung open the door, “I said—”

His words cut off because the person standing outside wasn’t room service—it was the psychopathic killer himself. Du Siyue was stunned and confused. “You… what do you want?”

Jiang Yuhao’s face was cold. “I heard you threw my cup in the trash.”

Du Siyue was doubly shocked. He thought he had covered his tracks so well during the day. How could this even be recognized? Jiang Yuhao brushed past him and entered the room. Du Siyue said, “Hey, I didn’t invite you in!”

Late-night visits from celebrities to wealthy people’s beds—this scene was getting classic. Du Siyue’s defenses were maxed out. He debated whether to call 911 or 999—was this breaking and entering, or was this guy just crazy?

Jiang Yuhao said, “Come here.”

Du Siyue flat-out refused, “Jiang, you must be mistaken. I’m not interested in you like that.”

Jiang Yuhao sneered, “You post under my Weibo every day asking for kisses in a vest. Now you say you’re not interested?”

4.

Everyone must die eventually—either one way or another.
—Farewell, Mom. Tonight, I set sail, rowing with oars made of Lamborghinis and Aston Martins.
From: CEO Du

5.

Jiang Yuhao narrowed his eyes slightly, like a beast sizing up its prey. Gotta admit, this fool who jumps around tirelessly online was actually pretty much his type. Du Siyue stared so hard his stomach cramped.

Jiang Yuhao stepped in front of him. The height difference wasn’t that big, but their auras? One was a red-hot superstar, the other was a tantruming “OMG, big brother is so handsome, kiss me please.” No contest.

6.

“What are you doing!”

“You said you wanted kisses, didn’t you?”

7.

Idol status: disqualified.

8.

Du Siyue felt like he’d been struck by lightning. “Damn it!”

Jiang Yuhao impatiently pressed him down, “If you scream again, no kisses for you!”

9.

Idol status continued to plummet.

10.

Du Siyue remained stunned. “I’m not even ready to be your sugar baby!”

11.

The staff had already checked all of Du Siyue’s info the moment he got tied up the first time, then handed it over to the boss for thoughts.

Jiang Yuhao casually tossed out eight words after reading it: “Good-looking, no need to sue.”

Staff: “We all know Boss isn’t exactly Mr. Nice Guy, but that’s just reckless!”

12.

Jiang Yuhao found Du Siyue’s alt account. From then on, he lived a life of watching him charge in, strip, and beg for kisses every day. He even used his high-ranking alt account to like this fake fan’s posts.

Whatever Du Siyue posted always made the front page, so he concluded he’d become a hardcore fan caught in a blood-soaked storm. He couldn’t help but promote himself fiercely on his alt account. Then the superstar’s anti-smear team intervened and kicked him out of the group.

13.

Jiang Yuhao leaned back in his chair and laughed for nearly half an hour after seeing it. The whole office was on edge, tense and worried the boss might be losing it. Lin Su’s coldness was just an act, but Jiang Yuhao’s cold was pure nature.

His foul temper could be counted using the multiplication table — cold and careless, ruthless and laconic, impatient and mean-spirited. He barely smiled normally. How he managed to stay this famous was a worldwide unsolved mystery.

14.

After Jiang Yuhao kissed him, he lay down on the bed.

Du Siyue said, “Please go.”

Jiang Yuhao frowned. “I’m exhausted.”

“What does your exhaustion have to do with me?”

“You threw my medicine in the trash.”

“…”

15.

The domineering CEO was just like that—forcing the top star into becoming his kept man.

16.

Du Siyue was confused too, wondering when exactly he had fallen out of love. He thought about it for days but couldn’t figure it out. Not understanding only made him think more.

Jiang Yuhao pressed down on him, watching silently for a while before suddenly snapping, “You can still be spacing out at a time like this?”

“It’s been almost three hours, and you’re still going strong!”

Du Siyue yelled back angrily, “What kind of attitude is that? Say one more word and I’m done!”

The two argued and fought on the bed, only to end up kissing fiercely again, tangled and inseparable.

17.

Jiang Yuhao had two movies lined up next and planned to transition his image quickly. After hearing this, Du Siyue decided to let him experience the joy of bringing investment onto set.

To show his thanks, Jiang Yuhao provided top-quality service that night—massaging until his waist and legs ached, sometimes curling up in a ball, sometimes sprawling out flat.

Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore. Dragging his sore body, he escaped to the bathroom and locked the door.

Jiang Yuhao said, “Come on, let’s stop.”

Du Siyue replied, “Yeah, right.”

18.

The day before shooting started, Du Siyue asked, “Have you ever studied acting?”

Jiang Yuhao answered, “For a week.”

Du Siyue said, “Oh.”

Jiang Yuhao stared at him. “Why don’t you encourage me?”

Du Siyue replied, “There’s nothing to encourage. You’re a perverted killer—that’s just you playing yourself.”

Jiang Yuhao laughed again, leaning against the wall. Du Siyue thought, See? I told you this guy was really twisted.

19.

Once on set, things got busy. But Jiang Yuhao was a silver dragon, so he still came home every night. Du Siyue sat back on the bed, legs crossed, leisurely chatting on the phone, his feet swinging back and forth—so pale. Jiang Yuhao grabbed one and bit it. Du Siyue startled, “What the hell are you doing?!”

Lin Su, on the other end of the call, was also shocked. “What happened?”

Du Siyue went silent—he couldn’t exactly say there was a dragon biting his foot. “It’s nothing. That’s my little nephew.”

Jiang Yuhao snatched the phone from his hand and hung up abruptly, tossing it aside.

“Stop it! Don’t you know his temper’s even worse than yours?”

Jiang Yuhao denied it outright. “No way.”

Du Siyue was puzzled. What was the point of competing over that? Jiang Yuhao pinned him down. “It’s two a.m. and you’re still awake. Looks like you’re feeling good.”

A bad feeling rose in Du Siyue’s heart. “You have a shoot tomorrow!”

Jiang Yuhao said, “Yeah.”

Du Siyue kicked him away. “Yeah, my ass. Wash up and sleep. Do too much and you’ll have kidney problems tomorrow.”

Jiang Yuhao grabbed his slender ankle. “Fine. Perverted killers mostly have kidney problems anyway.”

Du Siyue thought desperately, Help me!

20.

Jiang Yuhao could cook. From Buddha Jumps Over the Wall to tomato and egg soup, from iron pot stewed big goose to red wine foie gras mousse. Ever since he took in this new amateur from New Oriental, Boss Du hadn’t ordered takeout once—and had gained two pounds in a month.

Jiang Yuhao often coaxed him in bed, “I’ll make you braised pork tomorrow.”

Du Siyue said, “Add some kelp knots.”

Jiang Yuhao kissed him. “Okay, kelp knots it is.”

Du Siyue then said, “Can you fully turn back into human form?”

Jiang Yuhao wrapped his tail around him. “No.”

Du Siyue exclaimed, “Damn! It’s too big!”

Jiang Yuhao covered his mouth. “No, just a little.”

21.

The braised pork with kelp knots was delicious. Jiang Yuhao also sliced cucumbers, stir-fried some cabbage with vinegar, and made a bowl of spicy diced chicken—following the recipe, it was his first time making the Jincheng flavor. Although he nearly caused a downstairs neighbor to call the cops when the chicken started smoking, the dish still looked about eighty percent like the original. Du Siyue tasted a bite and forgave him a little for last night.

22.

After the movie was released, just as Du Siyue expected, playing a perverted killer was Jiang Yuhao’s comfort zone. He even got a fairly significant Best Supporting Actor nomination, marking a successful first step in his career transition.

Du Siyue asked, “What reward do you want?”

Jiang Yuhao replied, “A car.”

“No problem. What kind?”

“The one you liked on your post last night.”

“…”Jiang Yuhao and Du Siyue—although this couple was unpopular—still had fans, even Fudai’s followers shipped them. So the fans provided enough “fuel.”

The wives in the fandom didn’t know they had the real deal yet; they still thought they were breaking the law while driving nervously and cautiously, using encrypted and mirrored parking lots, afraid to upset the devoted fan sister and lose their happy home.

Du Siyue cheered for himself, liking and bookmarking everything with a secondary account—using Jiang Yuhao’s iPad. The superstar learned a lot of new things because of it.

23.

The real-life Jiang and Du ended up living exactly the same happy and joyful life as in the fanfiction.
