Chapter 18: Three Consecutive Wins

Yun Yingzhi’s cheeks burned hot, and he felt a twinge of embarrassment. Battle Rabbit was one thing, but adding “Cute Little” made him lose a bit of his dominating aura. Yun Yingzhi wasn’t exactly pleased, but he could grudgingly tolerate it.
His gaze shifted and landed on the referee already waiting on the battle platform. Coincidentally, this was the same referee from the last match. Yun Yingzhi also remembered that this was the referee who had given him his nickname, causing everyone to shout “Cute Little Battle Rabbit” in unison. He felt a little angry, but there was nothing he could do, so he fumed silently in his mind.
In Yun Yingzhi’s team, the second 3v3 match faced three male opponents.
Yun Yingzhi was level five, and his two teammates were level three. The opposing team had the same setup.
In the past, his first instinct might have been to use a source weapon at the start of the fight, but after the previous battle, he found that relying solely on physical strength was surprisingly fun. So, almost the instant the battle began, he transformed into a roughly 30cm-tall little white rabbit. The small, round bundle of white shot toward the three opponents like an arrow released from a bow.
Once again, everyone in the arena deeply realized just how powerful the little rabbit’s physical strength was. In this second battle, the enemy had a level-five water-type esper defender. As the little white rabbit charged, a water barrier sprang up. The tiny rabbit swung its little fists, and the air twisted under its immense force, instantly shattering the defensive water barrier!
The little white rabbit pressed against the three opponents, its tiny paws grabbed at them, then bounced into the air and slammed them down hard! The little rabbit’s movements were so fast that people with weaker dynamic vision could only see blurs. It didn’t matter—camera drones captured every move and replayed them in slow motion on screens around the arena.
From the slow-motion footage, the audience could see the little white rabbit clinging to the opponent—it was incredibly cute, and just watching it made people want to scream with delight! They wanted to touch it! They really wanted to touch it!! They especially wanted to touch it!!! Then, the little white rabbit proved a saying: the more beautiful something is, the more dangerous it can be.
With a ferocious slam, the opponent went crashing to the ground, unable to get up. The little rabbit lifted its tiny chin proudly and landed gracefully. The cameras captured the moment perfectly.
The little white rabbit seemed delighted. It stood on one little paw and spun in a circle. Everything happened so fast in the battle that only a few people noticed, but the cameras recorded it all. Yun Yingzhi, still in battle, didn’t realize he had spun on one tiny paw; his small body rushed toward the second fighter soldier at full speed.
His long ears twitched as he heard someone in the stands shouting, “My macho heart! This is the kind of fight we real men should be watching!”
Yun Yingzhi felt incredibly proud. Though his skills were among the weakest at Fansa Academy and he often relied on classmates going easy on him, in Yaoming Battle Arena, he was a true powerhouse, hehehe!
Feeling exhilarated, Yun Yingzhi’s little paws ferociously eyed the jumping esper fighter, ready to slam him down.
Suddenly, someone in the crowd yelled, “Quick! Let Cute Little Battle Rabbit win!”
“Once Little Cute Rabbit hits the ground, it’ll spin on one paw! Let him win!”
Yun Yingzhi’s ears twitched. The little rabbit froze in confusion. His four paws went slack, and both the rabbit and the enemy he had grabbed tumbled downward.
Yun Yingzhi’s tiny white rabbit felt completely dazed and bewildered. His mind reeled. When had he ever spun on one paw? Him? How could he have done such an embarrassing thing? Did they think he was a child?
While Yun Yingzhi was in stunned disbelief, he heard people shouting, “Little Cute Rabbit’s crash-landing!”
Indeed, he had crash-landed. His small body fell to the ground, eyes vacant, staring at the opponent who had fallen with him. The enemy quickly realized how strong the little white rabbit was, especially in close combat. Their first reaction was to retreat, put some distance between them, and launch a long range attack at him.
The little white rabbit hadn’t fully recovered from his daze yet.
Someone in the crowd yelled, “Despicable!”
“Shameless!”
“Have some shame!”
“How could anyone attack the little white rabbit after he crash-landed?”
The little white rabbit remained dazed. Thankfully, Vast from the same team built an earthen wall and provided the first line of defense. Yun Yingzhi inhaled through his nose and finally snapped out of his shame. He glanced around…
What rotten luck. The screens in every direction were projecting the replay. The replay showed the ferocious little rabbit grabbing an opponent, slamming him hard, landing nimbly, and then—on one tiny paw—spinning in a circle.
Yun Yingzhi felt his cheeks flush hot; he thought his face had been ruined for life in that single moment. How could he have done such an embarrassing thing? Huh? Ahhh? Aaaahhhh?
Crushed by the blow, the little white rabbit’s face fell, his body wobbling as he collapsed onto the ground. It had to be said: someone’s misery could be another’s source of joy. After the little rabbit fell, the crowd erupted in loud laughter.
There was no pain more piercing than this.
The referee shouted, “Look, everyone! Our Cute Little Battle Rabbit must have seen that classic replay—he just collapsed!” He added loudly, “And he was wobbling as he fell!”
Yun Yingzhi thought to himself, Life was so unfair. Obliterated! Across the starry seas! Immediately, Yun Yingzhi watched the projection of himself wobbling and falling. He wanted to shout. How dare they bully a small rabbit like that? He was only a fragile little rabbit! He inhaled again, stood up, and decided to end the match quickly, then find somewhere to hide and nurse his wounds.
Nurse his wounded pride.
With that in mind, his small body launched a ferocious assault on the enemy fighters.
Cute Little Battle Rabbit—slam, slam, slam!
About three minutes later, the fight finally ended.
The referee called out, “Congratulations to our Cute Little Battle Rabbit team for winning today’s second 3v3 match!”
To avoid anyone recognizing his true identity, Yun Yingzhi leapt with precision onto Clear’s shoulders and urged in a low voice, “Let’s go.”
The victorious pair and their rabbit exited through a special channel. Even so, they could not escape the referee’s enthusiasm.
The referee bellowed, “This was Cute Little Battle Rabbit’s first time at Yaoming Battle Arena. Generally, when fighters with animal second forms like Cute Little Battle Rabbit come to Yaoming Battle Arena, they usually fight in their human form. A fragile second form is typically weaker than its humanoid form, but our Cute Little Battle Rabbit’s second form is incredibly strong! He truly lives up to his ID—The Mighty Little White Bunny!”
When the referee finished, the arena resounded with cheers.
“Cute Little Battle Rabbit!”
“Cute Little Battle Rabbit!”
Yun Yingzhi felt as if his face had been thoroughly cooked; he nudged Clear with his little paw to hurry. Finally, they could no longer hear the referee’s stirring voice. This time, Yun Yingzhi did not go to the restroom. He found a secluded corner and reverted from his second form back into human form. He pushed the brim of his hat down.
Earlier, he had avoided telling anyone he had come to Yaoming Battle Arena because he worried General Yun and Madam Yun would be displeased with his battle record. Now, he no longer wanted anyone to know his true identity—not because of his battle record, but because of his embarrassing behavior.
The fight had been so exhilarating that he had lost control of his body. He blamed his second form. Mainly, because the second form was so small and seemed to have limited brainpower, it had behaved that way. It was like this: in human form, he could hold back the urge to stomp his feet, but in his second form, it was difficult to control.
He felt angry. Angry at himself for being unreliable.
Yun Yingzhi looked at his two teammates and asked, “For the third match, shall we—” He suddenly noticed their odd expressions, paused, and questioned, “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Vast replied immediately, “Nothing!”
Clear said, “We just think you’re amazing!”
Yun Yingzhi blinked his dark eyes. Even so, being praised made him a little happy, especially since they sincerely complimented him. Up until now, people had always said he was weak and needed protection. Hearing genuine praise from the two of them made him feel very satisfied.
Vast said, “Then I’ll sign us up for a third match, okay?”
Clear added, “Let’s do a few more! Winning or losing doesn’t matter—what matters is seeing the little rabbit happily spin. That’s the kind of fight real men should watch!”
After what happened in the second match, Yun Yingzhi still felt a little ashamed, and he was not eager for a third match. However… Hearing their praise, he—who had always liked compliments—couldn’t help wanting to fight again. After hesitating, he decided no one knew that Cute Little Battle Rabbit was really him. With a disguise on, the little rabbit could act fearless!
Yun Yingzhi said, “Alright, then,” hesitating over each word.
At his words, Vast immediately continued to apply for the next match.
The hall bustled with people. Many others wore outfits similar to Yun Yingzhi’s; some even wore bizarre costumes and masks, so the trio didn’t stand out much. They planned to go to the rest area and wait for the third match.
Along the way, countless battle projections played. Each projection featured the most iconic moment from the day’s fights, broadcasting across Yaoming Battle Arena. Passersby could choose which fighter or team to follow based on those highlights.
Suddenly, the three stopped. Yun Yingzhi lifted his head slightly. His lips pressed into a thin line behind his mask as he glumly stared at a nearby projection. On the screen, the little white rabbit spun around happily.
Yun Yingzhi thought that if that little rabbit weren’t really him, he would call it absolutely adorable. Then someone screamed. Yun Yingzhi’s ears twitched. He turned toward the source of the scream and saw a girl who looked about twenty.
She held her face in both hands and watched the projection with a dreamy look, saying, “Let the little rabbit fall! Make the little rabbit fall! Let the little rabbit win!”
Yun Yingzhi— Clear nudged Yun Yingzhi. Yun Yingzhi withdrew his gaze and looked at Clear.
Clear suddenly asked, “Are you really an adult?”
Yun Yingzhi felt the question cut deep—both insulting and stinging. He realized that Clear really didn’t hold back with words; every sentence seemed to carry a soul-crushing critical hit.
Yun Yingzhi said, “Do you believe I wouldn’t really yank off your hat and mask and report you to all the academies?”
Vast stepped between Yun Yingzhi and Clear, acting as the mediator.
Clear stared at Yun Yingzhi and said, “If you treat me like that, I’ll treat you the same way!”
Yun Yingzhi froze, suddenly at a loss for words. Compared to Clear, he felt that if his identity were revealed, it would be far more humiliating.
Listening to the crowd around him, he heard people repeatedly shouting, “Whoever doesn’t let the little rabbit spin for victory, I’ll hammer them!”
Yun Yingzhi sniffed and, feeling unusually magnanimous, decided to change the subject.
Before he could speak, someone in the crowd shouted, “Wow, if that little Cute Rabbit weren’t so strong, I’d swear he’s an elementary school kid!”
Yun Yingzhi couldn’t hold back. He quietly shot a glare at the person spouting nonsense and then entered the rest area with his two teammates.
The rest area had rows of seats for people to relax. Yun Yingzhi, hearing occasional shouts of “Quick! Let Cute Little Battle Rabbit win!” from around him, exuded a completely dejected aura. He stared at the battle projections lifelessly.
Suddenly, he spotted the Wei Yuanqing five-person team. Yes, five people. Yun Yingzhi recognized them by their outfits, the skills they used, and even their second forms.
After Yun Yingzhi left that team, Wei Yuanqing and his companions must have found another fighter to form a 5v5 lineup. Yun Yingzhi blinked, eyes wide, watching intently. Each projection displayed the highlight moments of a battle. In the footage, rings of ice formed, covering all five members of Wei Yuanqing’s team.
With a wave of his hand, Wei Yuanqing immediately shattered the ice. There was a close-up.
Rumor had it that Wei Yuanqing could understand beasts, or perhaps had mind-reading esper abilities. His strongest esper ability, however, was a non-limited wood-type esper ability. A non-limited esper ability is also known as a natural element esper ability.
The difference between limited and non-limited: limited esper abilities could only use awakened single-element skills, while non-limited esper abilities could combine freely, creating all sorts of abilities. Like what Wei Yuanqing used—sprouting, growing, binding, even late-stage wood skills like absorbing or granting energy… The difference was that non-limited esper abilities required no thought to unleash, while limited esper abilities needed consideration, which took time—but the latter was much more flexible.
Generally, non-limited esper abilities were stronger than limited esper abilities. Every skill released by source weapons is considered a limited esper ability. In the video, Wei Yuanqing looked incredibly powerful. But…
Meanwhile, the other four fighters on the same battle platform as Wei Yuanqing were wiped out, swept off the platform entirely. Sprouts pierced through all the ice and snow on the platform, and amid the cracking sound, Wei Yuanqing’s clear voice echoed, “We surrender.”
The video showed the team names. Wei Yuanqing’s team had a simple name: Carrot Team. The other team had a longer name.
Yun Yingzhi first checked Carrot Team’s battle record. Until now, Yun Yingzhi’s team had won both of their 3v3 matches, while Carrot Team… Even with one more match than Yun Yingzhi’s team, they had lost all three.
Yun Yingzhi was surprised. As students of the Empire’s First Military Academy, theoretically, they should easily dominate Yaoming Battle Arena battles. Three losses in a row? What was going on? Thinking further, Yun Yingzhi searched for the opponent of Carrot Team in the third 5v5 match.
What he found shocked him.
Wei Yuanqing aside—who clearly didn’t care about winning—Yu Feiwen and the other three roommates were from the low-performing class, yet they had trained diligently. Yun Yingzhi didn’t think these three would be swept aside so easily. In fact, although he didn’t know the fifth member of the team, their overall strength was not weak—but the opposing five were all level seven or eight esper soldiers.
Looking at the Carrot Team’s third match, Yun Yingzhi thought they were in for a brutal fight. He suddenly thought about the two teams he had faced—both relatively weak. Those six fighters seemed rough and tough but were actually fragile, far more so than him. He continued to review Carrot Team’s first two battles.
The Carrot Team’s battles had been rough. The other two major teams they faced were extremely strong, especially the opponents in their first match—five level-eight esper soldiers. By comparison, the team they faced in their second match was slightly less intimidating…
The weakest was level six, the strongest level eight, and other three were level seven. Yu Feiwen and the other four fought desperately to survive, struggling step by step. When they were nearly routed, the opposing five targeted Wei Yuanqing, seemingly intending a group attack.
Before they could execute the assault, Wei Yuanqing simply forfeited. Yun Yingzhi thought that Wei Yuanqing was strong, but even he would have difficulty defeating powerful opponents without showing his full strength. As for Yu Feiwen and the other three, three matches in a row had been a struggle, and they were in a truly miserable position.
If they had source weapons better suited to their abilities, perhaps they could have performed much better. Yun Yingzhi fast-forwarded through Yu Feiwen’s three matches. Combined with what he knew about the three roommates, his brain began to process patterns automatically, forming intricate mental blueprints.
This was his habit. Yun Yingzhi thought that if Yu Feiwen and his teammates used the source weapons forming in his mind, they might not win the battles—but at least they wouldn’t be wiped out so easily. Power alone wasn’t enough; proper equipment made a difference. These days, to grow stronger, one had to invest in every aspect.
Suddenly, Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid twitched, and a huge question mark formed in his mind. He had been thinking about a serious issue. He was short on money. He needed to earn money. But how to earn it was the real problem. The source weapons his three roommates were currently using could be upgraded.
Yun Yingzhi muttered, “…a breakthrough.”
As he pondered this, the lineup for their team’s third match appeared. The three exchanged glances, opened their personal terminals, signed the pre-battle agreement, and headed toward their designated location. Soon, they entered the pre-battle room to wait for the fight to start.
After about ten minutes, the passage to the arena opened, and the trio went straight from the pre-battle room to the platform.
Yun Yingzhi suddenly said, “When I watch other people’s battles, can I see the individual info of the opposing team?” He meant previous battle records, for example.
Vast replied, “That’s possible… I think?” Being a complete newcomer himself, he wasn’t entirely sure.
Clear added, “I think so?”
Yun Yingzhi said, “I’ll check.”
From the corner of his eye, Yun Yingzhi saw the glass passage leading to the battle platform, packed with spectators—far more than in the first or second battles. His first thought: Could their opponents be famous, attracting so many fans? The next moment, that thought was instantly proven wrong. Even through the glass, he could hear the crowd’s roars echoing across the stands.
“Cute Little Battle Rabbit!”
“Cute Little Battle Rabbit!”
Yun Yingzhi instinctively froze, a small frown forming. He did not want to recall what had happened in the second match.
Clear looked at him sincerely. “You have the potential to become wildly popular. In such a short time at Yaoming Battle Arena, you already have so many fans.” He paused and added, “You could really make a living with your looks alone!”
Yun Yingzhi, feeling resistant, said, “Even if my face is decent, I’d rather rely on my strength than looks.” He firmly rejected Clear’s comment.
Clear rolled his eyes. “I wasn’t talking about your face. I meant your second form!”
Yun Yingzhi chose not to continue the topic. Instead, he turned to the information on the opposing fighters. “Team Elizabeth—three women. Age unknown. The captain is…”
Vast and Clear looked at him, puzzled.
After a moment of silence, Yun Yingzhi said, “A level-eight esper soldier.”
Vast exclaimed, “Wow!”
Clear crowed, “Impressive, impressive!”
Yun Yingzhi shouted, “Strong, strong!”
All three thought, Why is their tiny weak team facing such a powerful opponent?
Then again, it made sense—other weaker teams would also see this as a formidable squad.
Vast said, “According to Yaoming Battle Arena rules, winning three consecutive 3v3 matches earns 600 credits.”
Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid twitched.
Clear sighed, “What a pity.”
Yun Yingzhi thought, 600 credits was a huge sum—enough to eat and live well for days. No wonder the arena was reluctant to pay it out. He felt quite regretful.
The trio entered the battle platform, their moods heavy. Coincidentally, the referee for their third match was the same as the previous two. As usual, the referee introduced the two teams. Then, amidst the roar of the crowd, the battle began!
Even knowing that this match would likely be a loss, the only option was to charge forward bravely. From his previous battles, Yun Yingzhi knew his second form was powerful. At once, he transformed into the little white rabbit, determined to give it his all. His small body charged straight at one of the three enemy fighters—
And then… he saw a scene he knew all too well. This kind of situation had happened often before. Whenever he fought with classmates, it almost always went like this.
Yun Yingzhi had just charged forward, and before colliding with the level-eight esper soldier, the beautiful woman deliberately leaned back, and she and her two companions gazed at him with sparkling eyes.
One of the girls said, “All yours. Quick! Spin around!”
Yun Yingzhi froze, his little rabbit face falling, a bit annoyed. He accelerated once more, rushing toward the three of them. He had to admit, without a corresponding source weapon to resist, the level advantage was overwhelming. The level-eight esper soldier nimbly stood up, reached out, and scooped up the little white rabbit, bringing him close as if to plant a kiss.
Yun Yingzhi’s little rabbit face twisted in horror. Using all his strength, his tiny body struggled and, in the nick of time, broke free. His fur bristled, he stomped his little feet, and glared at the brazen level-eight esper soldier in front of him.
Yun Yingzhi was angry. As a delicate little white rabbit, without strong combat power, he was vulnerable to teasing.
His ears twitched. Using his sharp hearing, he caught someone from the crowd sighing enviously, “Ah, if I were strong, could I kiss Cute Little Battle Rabbit?”
Yun Yingzhi’s blood boiled. He thought for a moment, sniffed, and decided to show anyone who wanted to pet him just how strong he could be—next time they tried, they would see if they had the power to do it!
He hopped twice in place, gathering energy. His small body shot forward like an arrow toward the level-eight esper soldier. The second sprint failed again. The little white rabbit stomped his feet furiously. Thinking about it, he decided to change tactics. Unlike the previous two fights, this time he would use his source weapon.
He had understood long ago that, compared to others, he was very weak. Without his classmates’ protection, he could do nothing alone. That was why he had crafted his source weapons with extreme care—designed for both single-target and group attacks.
One of the single-target skills was Cannon. The name was simple and brutal. Its principle: a massive amount of source energy would be injected into the cannon almost instantly, compressing into concentrated fire energy. The longer it compressed, the more destructive the power. Then, following a command, it released in a single devastating shot at the target.
The source weapon Yun Yingzhi wore had been crafted in June and was a Level 5 weapon suited to him, filled with many attack skills, though he had never had the chance to use it—until today.
Today, it would unleash its strongest strike. And so, everyone saw it happen. Above Yun Yingzhi, a huge cannon of condensed energy suddenly appeared. Energy rapidly poured into the barrel, emitting a bone-chilling roar.
His two teammates stared in awe at the massive energy cannon hovering over him. On the other side, the three enemy fighters, sensitive to source energy, cautiously looked up, sensing the absolute destructive power within.
The little white rabbit raised a tiny paw, pointed at the level-eight esper soldier, and commanded, “Charge!”
Almost as soon as the words left his mouth, flames illuminated the entire arena. Under the blinding light, some spectators instinctively closed their eyes. The blaze surged toward the female level-eight esper soldier, turning the area a brilliant white.
Naturally, Yun Yingzhi’s attack didn’t hit her. She instantly teleported, dodging the strike. The first wave of fire dissipated, revealing a scar on the arena where the flames had collided with the platform. Gasps echoed from the audience.
Someone shouted, “What a violent little rabbit!”
Yun Yingzhi froze, hopping once in place, protesting silently. Violent? Was he violent? He was just defending himself from being teased! Now he knew that at Yaoming Battle Arena, he had accumulated a sizable fanbase. If he didn’t make it clear that teasing him had consequences, what would happen in every future match?
Thinking this, he pointed again, and… Everyone saw twelve massive energy cannons appear in midair. The crowd gasped.
Vast, “…”
Clear, “…”
Yun Yingzhi’s small rabbit face looked fierce. He channeled energy into the source weapon, and one by one, the cannons launched at the three enemy esper soldiers.
—Bang! Bang! Bang! The deafening explosions rang out continuously.
Amid the fiery blasts, Clear nudged Vast. With a face full of confusion, Vast looked at Clear.
Clear said, “That fierce cute little rabbit seems to have only awakened one ability.”
Vast, “…Hmm.”
Clear continued, “A strength ability.”
Vast, “…Hmm.”
Clear, “…”
The twelve massive cannons relentlessly assaulted the three enemy esper soldiers, fire sweeping across the entire battlefield.
Compared to most esper soldiers, Yun Yingzhi—still unawakened—was formidable. His body contained an enormous amount of source energy. Esper soldiers consumed Source when using their powers. Source energy was absorbed from nature, and intake varied by individual constitution.
In this, Yun Yingzhi’s internal source reserves were vast. So vast, in fact, that back when he had the fewest resources, he fantasized about extracting and selling it as source energy boxes. But that idea faded once Alvin had given him a large sum of money.
Amid the blazing cannon fire, Clear continued, “So, what the cute rabbit is using isn’t his awakened esper ability, but skills built into his source weapon…”
Vast said, “That seems right.”
Clear questioned, “Can a source weapon really be this powerful?”
Vast replied, “The evidence is right in front of you.”
The two minors thought, As expected of Cute Little Battle Rabbit—truly super, super, super powerful.
Meanwhile, the three enemy esper soldiers faced them. The level-eight esper soldier effortlessly dodged all the cannons. The other two, however, were less graceful, stumbling as they tried to avoid the blasts. Then came the critical moment. Amid the fire, the fierce little white rabbit charged recklessly at the level-eight esper soldier once more.
Seeing this, the level-eight esper soldier dodged the flames while backing up, falling to the ground and lowering her voice to speak. Others might not have heard her over the explosion, but Vast, Clear, and the referee on the same arena all did.
The level-eight esper soldier said to the little white rabbit, “Spin in a circle, and we’ll forfeit!”
Vast and Clear thought that their little rabbit seemed a bit temperamental. Even if the opponent was truly strong, they had no chance. There was no way the little rabbit would agree.
Just as they thought this, they saw… Cute Little Battle Rabbit slammed on the brakes, his black eyes staring at the level-eight esper soldier, calculating. After all, his source weapon was only a Level 5. If the opponent took things seriously, they had no chance at all.
Pausing for a moment, the little rabbit’s slightly childish voice said two words, “Six hundred?” It was his instinctual thought process.
The newcomer bonus at Yaoming Battle Arena: three consecutive 3v3 victories earned 600 credits. Vast and Clear’s minds slowly formed question marks. Others might not have understood what Yun Yingzhi meant, but they did. In their view, 600 credits was nothing.
Nothing! How could Cute Little Battle Rabbit sell himself for that?
Cute Little Battle Rabbit, charge!
Then everyone saw it…
Cute Little Battle Rabbit blinked his big eyes, his little rabbit face falling, looked at the level-eight esper soldier, spun two circles, and then waved his little rabbit fists at the three opponents like a declaration.
Vast and Clear thought, No, Cute Little Battle Rabbit, how could you be so timid? How could you sell yourself for a win?
The little white rabbit looked at the level-eight esper soldier. From his glum little rabbit face, the crowd somehow sensed his expectation.
Someone in the audience suddenly shouted, “Let the little cute rabbit win!”
“Quick, let the little cute rabbit win!”
The level-eight esper soldier’s smile deepened. With a serious face, she said, “You’re amazing, whether in abilities or strength.” She then looked at the referee and said, “We forfeit.”
And so, the Cute Little Battle Rabbit team—no, the Dominate Yaoming team—claimed their third victory at Yaoming Battle Arena.
After the fight, Yun Yingzhi’s two teammates led him out.
After just three matches, Yun Yingzhi’s fanbase at Yaoming Battle Arena had grown significantly. According to passersby outside the arena, some were already forming a fan support group for Cute Little Battle Rabbit.
They were curious: who was the real Cute Little Battle Rabbit? Did the Empire really have a little awakened-power esper like him? And his twelve-cannon esper ability—said to be from a source weapon—who had made it?
Listening to the speculations as they walked, Yun Yingzhi told himself to stay calm. No one would discover his true identity. As long as he stayed hidden, he was fearless. With that thought, Yun Yingzhi watched the central hall projection replay: Cute Little Battle Rabbit boldly attacking the three enemy esper soldiers, then “selling himself” for a win by spinning in circles…
Yun Yingzhi’s face fell as he watched the replay. He sighed inwardly. He screamed silently in his heart, Ahhhh! Then he thought again, It didn’t matter. No one would know the truth.
He looked at his two teammates. Their eyes were glued to the screen, watching the shameless little rabbit “sell himself” for victory.
Yun Yingzhi nudged them. “Let’s go.”
Reluctantly, they tore their eyes away. The three first went to claim their prize money. In Yun Yingzhi’s imagination, he expected a hefty 600 credits each. But when they actually received it, they found it was only 200 each.
Yun Yingzhi sighed. Money was hard to earn. He stared at the deposit in his bank account, thought for a moment, and silently transferred 100 credits to Yun Yinghui.
