Yun Yinghui launched an attack toward Elvis. Elvis planned to dodge using his spatial ability, but just then, little kit let out a sudden, pitiful “da!”
The heart-wrenching cry made Yun Yinghui’s large cleaver wobble, and Elvis almost failed to dodge it. But narrowly, he leapt backward with rapid speed, moving clumsily. The two adults, filled with worry for the two Little Buns, simultaneously looked toward them.
To give themselves more room to move, the little egg had expanded the space using his spatial ability, creating enough room for them to hop and bounce along the inner walls. Seeing that Yun Yinghui no longer attacked Elvis, little kit blinked his dark, round eyes and pointed first at Elvis, then at Yun Yinghui with his tiny paws.
Yun Yinghui’s eyelid twitched. Elvis looked at the two Little Buns, who in every way resembled Yun Yingzhi. His gaze betrayed undeniable gentleness.
Little kit, noticing that the two adults weren’t continuing their fight, thought for a moment. Maybe the adults didn’t understand what he meant. He nudged the little egg with his tiny paw. Little egg toppled over with the push. Little kit timed it perfectly with a dramatic “da!”
Yun Yinghui: “…”
Elvis: “…”?
Immediately after, the little egg transformed back into an upright, lively egg. Little kit clasped his tiny paws together and looked at the two adults with anticipation. The adults’ gazes remained fixed on the Little Buns. Yun Yinghui’s expression betrayed nothing, while Elvis’s eyes softened with affection. It was clear Elvis adored these little creatures. Little kit looked at Yun Yinghui and let out several more “da”s. Yun Yinghui remained indifferent.
Little kit grew slightly displeased, his ears drooping. His gaze shifted toward the little egg, and he twitched his ears, “da.”
Little egg immediately understood. He rolled toward the little kit but stopped precisely just before hitting him. Yun Yinghui had noticed this before. Perhaps from observing Yun Yingzhi’s practical combat exams, the little egg often played with little kit while holding back, like now—though he could have collided with the little kit, he stopped just in time.
Little kit acted as if he had been hit, his small body falling backward, then letting out a dramatic cry, “da!”
Yun Yinghui: “…”
Elvis, who had exceptional dynamic vision, saw the scene and his face filled with worry. He strode forward, scooped the little kit into his hands, and asked with concern, “Jiaojiao, are you hurt? Daddy will take you to the hospital!”
Hearing the word “Daddy,” little kit, who had been slightly happy from watching the fight, immediately thought of Yun Yingzhi. His emotions collapsed, and tears began to fall. Little egg’s small egg body wobbled and also lay down.
Elvis tenderly wiped the little kit’s tears, reaching out to pick up the little egg as well, but the little kit let out a loud “ao!”
Elvis froze mid-motion, looking at the tearful yet defiant little kit. Little kit flapped his ears and let out several more “ao”s at Elvis. He bounced off his hands, scrambled onto the wall, and with rapid “da da da”s, climbed into the space little egg had carved out with his spatial esper.
The little egg immediately rolled into the little kit’s tiny paws. Little kit hugged the little egg tightly. Tears still fell, but he kept a vigilant gaze on Elvis.
Elvis spoke softly, “Jiaojiao, Taotao, don’t be afraid. I am your…” Considering how the Little Buns had reacted to “Daddy” before, he paused and adjusted, “father.”
Nearby, Yun Yinghui’s cold “heh” reached Elvis’s ears. The two Little Buns immediately looked toward Yun Yinghui.
Little egg used his spatial ability to envelop himself and the little kit, shifting the location precisely, slipping inside Yun Yinghui’s clothing. The little kit held the little egg and slid downward. From Yun Yinghui’s angle, he could still see the pointed heads of the two Little Buns; from Elvis’s perspective, not a single tuft of fur was visible.
Yun Yinghui and Elvis locked eyes. Yun Yinghui forced a polite smile, “Your Highness, I apologize. Your inappropriate behavior made me mistake you for an intruder, so I attacked. I’m sure you can understand.”
Elvis paused, meeting Yun Yinghui’s gaze. “Of course.” He added, “Brother Yinghui, thank you for taking care of Jiaojiao and Taotao.”
Yun Yinghui’s lips curved slightly, exuding an even colder, more forbidding aura. “Your Highness, you don’t need to thank me. As long as my brother refuses to acknowledge you, you have no relation to Jiaojiao or Taotao.”
Elvis respectfully addressed him as “Brother Yinghui,” polite and unopposing, behaving like a model younger relative.
Yun Yinghui: “Your Highness, speaking of which, you are my junior. I am curious about the overall strength of Fansa Academy students. You have always been the top student. May I challenge you to a duel?”
Elvis: “Of course.”
The two Little Buns, always sensitive to strange words, immediately popped their heads out from Yun Yinghui’s clothing the moment they heard “duel,” only to hide again when they saw Elvis. But within seconds, they peeked out once more, curiosity in their eyes.
Inside the studio, everyone looked at Yun Yingzhi with concern, asking what had happened.
Yun Yingzhi’s eyes held back tears as he tried not to cry. “N-nothing…”
His heart ached. In the past few days, he had done the math with Yun Yinghui. The villa’s monthly maintenance fee was high. The Little Buns were still too small, needing frequent check-ups. And the villa staff’s salaries… the monthly costs were staggering. Plus, there were house repairs…
With the villa destroyed by Yun Yinghui and His Highness Elvis, how would they pay for repairs? Yun Yingzhi was deeply saddened and wanted to cry. He tried to hold it in but couldn’t, so he took leave and left.
As soon as Yun Yingzhi left, the staff began to discuss among themselves. At first, they guessed Yun Yingzhi was upset over Elvis, but they quickly dismissed that theory. Why then?
Soon, they found out. The Yunhai Center villa area had maintenance crews rebuilding villas—coincidentally, Yun Yingzhi’s home. Why would a perfectly good villa suddenly need repairs? Then they understood. They couldn’t see the fight between Elvis and Yun Yinghui, but they could see the Little Buns’ reactions. Their cheering and playful tussles had already spread across the star network.
The staff suddenly felt that Yun Yingzhi now seemed… pitiful.
When Yun Yingzhi returned home, the Little Buns, seeing their father after days apart, rushed to him, tumbling and rolling. Especially the little kit, tears streaming down, low sobs breaking his heart. The little egg, still inside his shell, couldn’t shed tears. He could only nuzzle Yun Yingzhi and spread little kit’s tears over his own shell.
Seeing this, Yun Yingzhi felt heartache for the little kit and even more for the little egg, who couldn’t even express sadness. He tried to hold back but failed, embracing the two Little Buns as he cried. They were just too pitiful. Yun Yingzhi tucked the Little Buns into his clothing and glared ferociously at Elvis.
Elvis’s eyelid twitched violently, and he took a step back. Yun Yingzhi activated the markings on the source weapon, and suddenly twelve massive cannons appeared in midair. The two Little Buns, extremely sensitive to source fluctuations, immediately popped their heads out from Yun Yingzhi’s clothing, their eyes lighting up excitedly at the sight of the airborne artillery.
The little kit squeaked in excitement, “Da!”
Yun Yingzhi’s pale fingers pointed toward Elvis.
Yun Yinghui’s brow twitched sharply. He could gauge his own attacks on Elvis, but he worried that Yun Yingzhi might not hold back. If Elvis didn’t dodge… Not to mention what would happen to Elvis, the entire villa might be completely demolished. The twelve cannons in midair simultaneously aimed at Elvis, primed and ready, just waiting to fire.
Just as Yun Yingzhi was about to launch his attack, Elvis said suddenly, “I’ll cover all renovation costs, maintenance fees, and any damage in the villa.”
Yun Yingzhi: “…”
Then Yun Yinghui, the two Little Buns, and all the servants in the villa saw every single cannon in the sky…vanish. Yun Yingzhi swayed unsteadily and collapsed. The two Little Buns hurried out from Yun Yingzhi’s clothing, worried, and pressed against him pitifully.
Yun Yingzhi’s eyes glistened with tears as he hugged the two Little Buns. At that moment, the sight of one adult and two little ones looked exceptionally tragic, fragile, and helpless. The servants who witnessed it might have thought, if they didn’t know the backstory, that this trio was the most pitiable group in the world.
Yun Yingzhi glared at Elvis, accusation in his eyes. “Your Highness Elvis, you’ve gone too far! Jiaojiao and Taotao were scared out of their minds!”
Elvis’s eyelid twitched. He paused, then apologized sincerely, “Jiaojiao, Taotao, it’s all my fault. I shouldn’t have scared you.”
The little kit hugged the little egg and pressed against Yun Yingzhi, quietly observing Elvis. Elvis added, “Zhizhi, the villa needs repairs. How about we temporarily move next door?”
Yun Yingzhi eyed him suspiciously. “Your Highness, are you saying you deliberately destroyed 3034?”
Elvis casually glanced at Yun Yinghui, the instigator, and said, “It was an accident.”
Before Yun Yingzhi could continue his accusations, Elvis cleverly shifted his attention. “Zhizhi, how about I expand your source weapon workshop and build a playground for Jiaojiao and Taotao? Would you like that?”
Yun Yingzhi’s attention immediately shifted. After a moment’s thought, he nodded. Elvis continued, “We could also build a theater in the basement, so you can watch movies with Jiaojiao and Taotao.”
Yun Yingzhi pictured it in his mind and nodded again.
Elvis: “Let’s go. We’ll move next door first.”
Yun Yingzhi held the two Little Buns and followed. Under Elvis’s guidance, the group relocated to the neighboring villa. The Little Buns were especially well-behaved in the unfamiliar environment. Their eyes roamed curiously, small bodies sticking close to Yun Yingzhi, refusing to be alone despite their curiosity.
Elvis tried multiple times to touch the Little Buns. Whenever little kit was touched, he tucked his paws in repeatedly, clearly unwilling to be touched, yet for some unknown reason, he seemed to enjoy touching Elvis. Whenever Elvis got close to Yun Yingzhi, the little kit would lightly tap him with his tiny paws, then quickly retract them.
If Yun Yingzhi was farther away from Elvis, the little kit would occasionally gesture for Yun Yingzhi to come closer so he could tap Elvis. The little kit’s attitude was puzzling—neither clearly liking nor disliking Elvis. By contrast, the little egg didn’t resist much when touched, as long as some part of his shell stayed against Yun Yingzhi. But if someone tried to pick him up, the little egg would protest.
Though the little egg tolerated Elvis’s touch, the little kit was extremely protective. When Elvis touched the little egg, the little kit would leap onto him, covering him with his small body to prevent the contact.
After dinner, the Little Buns grew more familiar with the new surroundings. They tapped Yun Yingzhi, requesting he take them on a little exploration. No matter what, they refused to leave Yun Yingzhi, so he could only move with them individually.
Night fell. It was time to sleep. Yun Yingzhi settled into the master bedroom with the two Little Buns, while Elvis stayed next door. Just in case—though it was unclear what exactly they were guarding against—Yun Yinghui took the room on the other side of Yun Yingzhi.
Inside the master bedroom, the Little Buns clung to Yun Yingzhi, refusing to sleep. Checking the time, Yun Yingzhi saw it was already ten o’clock. Both little ones, normally early risers and late sleepers, refused to sleep despite clearly being very tired.
The little kit pressed against Yun Yingzhi’s chest, wiggling his small head, then flopped upside down, only to struggle back upright. His head continued to wobble, refusing to sleep. The little egg’s egg body shifted from upright to horizontal, then back again, repeating the cycle.
Yun Yingzhi: What on earth was wrong with these two? They were exhausted—why wouldn’t they sleep?
He straightened his posture. Almost immediately, he sensed the Little Buns’ heightened vigilance. The little kit’s large dark eyes stared intensely, while the little egg’s egg body remained rigid. Both of them froze.
Yun Yingzhi, after a brief moment of speechless frustration, said, “Alright, I’ll just… change my position.”
The next moment, the little kit’s head started wobbling again, and the little egg’s body followed suit, upright and horizontal. Yun Yingzhi shifted again. The two drowsy Little Buns immediately focused on him.
Yun finally understood why they hadn’t slept. These two were watching him, afraid he might suddenly leave, so they refused to sleep, keeping constant vigilance. He thought for a moment and placed the Little Buns on his shoulders, one on each side. “Jiaojiao, Taotao, sleep with Daddy. I won’t go anywhere tonight.”
Gradually, the Little Buns drifted off to sleep with him.
The next day, Yun Yingzhi took half a day off, sleeping deeply with the Little Buns. The little kit only woke when he needed milk or a diaper change, then quickly returned to sleep. By noon, when Yun Yingzhi was fully awake, the Little Buns were still asleep.
After lunch, Yun Yingzhi went to the workshop. In the afternoon, he received messages from Yun Yinghui and Elvis—both Little Buns were throwing a tantrum. The little kit kept crying, refusing milk and even a diaper change. The little egg had withdrawn into a completely closed-off shell.
Yun Yingzhi had no choice. He hadn’t been in the workshop for long before he had to go back. The moment the Little Buns saw him, they pounced toward him, looking utterly pitiful. Yun Yingzhi had no choice but to soothe the little egg, feed the little kit, change the little kit’s diaper, and then little egg’s.
Yet the Little Buns were still angry. They demanded Yun Yingzhi’s attention with gestures but refused to acknowledge him. Yun Yingzhi tried to coax them, but his efforts had little effect. Even though they were clearly upset, they still crawled into his clothing together.
Little kit: “Da?” The little egg bounced slightly.
little kit: “Da!”
Yun Yingzhi: “?” What were the two of them communicating?
Suddenly, he felt a spatial fluctuation envelop him, and the little egg transported him and little kit through space. One moment, they had been in the villa; the next, little egg had already carried them out to a bustling street. All eyes immediately turned toward Yun Yingzhi.
From the crowd, someone shouted, “Oh my god! It’s Yun Yingzhi!”
“The infamous playboy? What’s he doing here?”
“Let me see!”
“I heard he’s Stellar!”
“What? Yun Yingzhi is Stellar?!”
“And that Blazing Divine Rabbit! Remember? We thought it was some eccentric source weapon maker, but looking back… it could only have been Yun Yingzhi, right?”
Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid twitched violently, and his cheeks reddened uncontrollably. At that moment, he wished he could dig a palace out with his toes to hide in. The little kit, hiding in Yun Yingzhi’s clothing, nudged the little egg. “Da!”
The little egg got the message, and another wave of spatial fluctuation swept over them. The trio was transported again. Coincidentally, this time they landed in another crowded area. Once more, people immediately recognized Yun Yingzhi and flocked toward him. The scene mirrored the previous one exactly. However, having experienced it once, Yun Yingzhi moved quickly, weaving through the crowd and safely escaping.
Finally, he reached a quiet area. He considered how to bring the Little Buns home. He realized these two had evolved. Previously, they could only run off alone; now, at least they knew to bring an adult along.
Moments later, another wave of spatial fluctuation enveloped him. The little egg transported him and the little kit again. Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid twitched uncontrollably. Having experienced it three times, Yun Yingzhi reacted faster each time. This time, he didn’t even give anyone the chance to spot him, swiftly disappearing into a hidden corner.
He pulled the two Little Buns out of his clothing. “Jiaojiao, Taotao, where are you planning to take Daddy?”
The little kit clutched Yun Yingzhi’s finger. “Da!” He proudly shook his small head, pretending not to care, but his tiny paws held Yun Yingzhi’s finger tightly. The little egg lay flat on Yun Yingzhi’s hand, also pretending not to care.
The two Little Buns were clearly still upset about Yun Yingzhi leaving them earlier. Then, little egg used his ability a fourth time, transporting Yun Yingzhi and little kit through space once more. This time, Yun Yingzhi finally understood where the Little Buns wanted to take him. Holding the two Little Buns in his hands, he tilted his head upward and saw the massive sign of the Yaoming Battle Arena.
Yun Yingzhi realized that the humiliating alias “Cute Little Battle Rabbit” was the only mask he still had left intact. As long as he didn’t admit it, no one could force him. He had no intention of teaming up with the two Little Buns.
At the same time, he sensed people turning toward him from all directions. Yun Yingzhi took a step back, planning to run with the Little Buns. The next moment, a wave of spatial ability enveloped him, forcibly pulling him into the arena. Yun Yingzhi stubbornly tried to escape with the Little Buns. But after just a few steps, little kit “da”ed, and little egg used his esper again, transporting them back to the central hall of the Yaoming Battle Arena.
Word spread quickly that Yun Yingzhi had arrived at the arena with the Little Buns, and more and more people came to watch. Somewhere in the crowd, a voice shouted, “Finally, we get to see the Little White Rabbit and the Tiny White Rabbit on the same stage!?”
