Also, responding to your little group chat thing you did at the end of Ch. 1 here about seme just being translated as “attack”… well, I did a little bit of Aikido (martial arts) for a while. In Aikido, you call the person receiving the attack the “uke,” because it literally just means “receiver” or something. Surprised me a bit the first I time heard it, but it makes sense, lol. Our sensei was from Japan. And that is the official term used in Aikido as far as I’m aware. I’m not sure if that same term is used in other Japanese martial arts or not.
