Zhou Kai hadn’t fallen asleep until after 1 a.m., and he woke up twice, once at around 4 a.m. and again at 5 a.m. He didn’t set an alarm—he just woke up naturally.
Or maybe it was more like Zhou Kai subconsciously wanted to wake up, keeping himself from falling into a deep sleep.
Unfortunately, it didn’t help. The class’s WeChat group was eerily quiet, with only a few messages from last night about comparing homework answers. Nothing else had come in.
Zhou Kai stared at the screen until his eyes ached, feeling frustrated and aggrieved. He threw the phone under the blanket and forced himself to sleep, trying not to think about whether He Ye, that cold snake, would suddenly message him again in the early hours of the morning.
At breakfast, Zhou Kai drowsily sipped his watery porridge, his eyes barely open. He noticed he looked a little puffy when he glanced in the mirror earlier.
When his mother saw him looking tired, she reached over and touched his forehead, concerned. “Are you catching a cold? You look a bit pale.”
Sensing his father’s gaze, Zhou Kai took a big gulp of porridge, forcing a smile and trying to perk up. “No, I just didn’t sleep well last night. I’m a bit lazy.”
Zhou Kai’s father put down his phone and spoke sternly. “You need to sleep earlier. Stop hiding in your blanket playing on your phone. The midterms are tomorrow—how can you take the test if you’re this tired?”
Zhou Kai felt guilty. His dad’s words were true, so he didn’t argue. He just listened as his mother and father exchanged a few more words, finishing his porridge in silence.
After putting his bowl in the sink, Zhou Kai grabbed his bag from the couch, waved goodbye to his parents, and put on his shoes to head out.
As soon as he closed the door behind him, his phone buzzed. He pulled it out and saw the caller ID was the class president. Zhou Kai’s lips twitched.
He had assumed that the plan the class president and the physical education committee member made yesterday—”We’ll walk with him to school and back, just in case He Ye tries anything”—was just a joke. Everyone would have forgotten about it after a good night’s sleep.
But it seemed like they were taking it seriously.
Did they really think He Ye was going to ambush him on the way to school and beat him up?
Zhou Kai walked into the elevator, pressed the button for the first floor, and sighed deeply, feeling conflicted.
His classmates, including the class president and the physical education committee member, were so biased against He Ye. They just couldn’t see who he really was. And, equally, they didn’t see who Zhou Kai was beneath the surface either.
On the way to school, Zhou Kai told the class president and physical education committee member that they didn’t need to worry. He Ye wasn’t going to ambush him on the street.
The class president didn’t believe him. “Better safe than sorry. I can totally see him pulling out a knife and stabbing someone.”
Zhou Kai: “……”
The physical education committee member chimed in, “We’re just walking along with you, no big deal. We’re not being overly cautious or anything.”
What could Zhou Kai say? He figured it wasn’t too bad—just a couple of extra people tagging along on his way to and from school. In a day or two, they’d realize that He Ye probably didn’t even care about him that much and would stop this “baby-sitting” behavior.
As he stepped onto the stairs leading to the school building, Zhou Kai looked up and immediately spotted He Ye in the hallway. Today was his turn to be on duty, and Zhou Kai remembered that.
Zhou Kai quickly glanced at him from a distance before He Ye noticed, and then lowered his head, pursing his lips as he continued walking forward.
He Ye, holding a dustpan, turned around and briefly glanced at Zhou Kai, only to see the class president and the physical education committee member flanking him, walking closely on either side. The three of them squeezed through the front door.
He Ye’s cold gaze shifted back to the trash on the floor, and he busied himself with moving it around.
When the bell rang, he sighed slowly and swept the trash into the dustpan, heading toward the bin to dispose of it.
In preparation for the upcoming midterm exams, every teacher essentially gave students the day to review during each class. By the afternoon, school was let out by 4:30 p.m., even earlier than usual.
Zhou Kai had been asleep at his desk all afternoon and was jolted awake by loud cheers. Still groggy, he rubbed his head and tried to orient himself, unsure of where he was for a moment.
He yawned and watched as his classmates excitedly packed up their bags and headed out of the classroom. He lazily leaned back on his desk again, eyes half-closed.
The class president and physical education committee member exchanged a hand gesture, then walked over and placed a hand on Zhou Kai’s shoulder, nudging him. “Hey, wake up. It’s time to go.”
Zhou Kai squinted at him, his voice muffled, “We’re already done? No more self-study?”
The class president sighed, shaking his head. “We’ve been studying all day. It’s enough. Let’s get out early; the exam is tomorrow anyway.”
“…Oh.”
Zhou Kai felt like he’d lost a bit of his wits after that nap. His limbs felt sluggish, and his actions were slow. He absentmindedly twisted the cap of his pen, only for the pen’s tip to jab painfully into his palm. As he was walking down the stairs, he nearly missed a step and almost stumbled the entire way down.
The class president shook his head. “At this rate, if you run into He Ye, how are you going to get away?”
The physical education committee member clicked his tongue, “You’ll probably just end up getting pinned down and rubbed into the dirt.”
Zhou Kai froze for a moment when he heard He Ye’s name, shaking his head to clear the fogginess from his brain. Once he was more awake, a realization hit him: Did I forget something?
He quickly pressed the brake on his thoughts and began rummaging through his backpack, checking all the pockets.
Then it hit him—his phone.
He’d placed it on his desk before falling asleep, and in his dazed state, he’d completely forgotten about it.
“Shit.”
Zhou Kai turned his bike around, heading back to grab his phone. The class president and physical education committee member called out to him, but Zhou Kai waved them off, telling them to go ahead and not wait for him.
The class president, still uneasy, asked, “But what about He Ye…?”
Zhou Kai sighed, looking up at the sky in frustration. “He’s not that kind of person. Just go ahead, I’ll be fine getting it myself.”
Without waiting for their response, Zhou Kai pushed off the ground with his feet and pedaled back in the direction of the school.
The physical education committee member, seeing Zhou Kai suddenly full of energy, turned to the class president and commented, “Looks like he’s awake now. He should be fine. If he runs into He Ye, at least he has the strength to escape.”
The class president hesitated, “When we left earlier, He Ye had already gone, right?”
The physical education committee member thought for a moment and nodded confidently. “Yeah, he was carrying his bag and left the classroom. He was already gone.”
The class president nodded. “If that’s the case, then it should be fine today.”
The physical education committee member agreed. “Yeah, so we should go now?”
The class president waved his hand. “Yeah, let’s go.”
Neither of them expected that while He Ye had left the classroom before them, he hadn’t actually left the school yet. He Ye had just returned a book to the library and was now standing near the library entrance, watching as Zhou Kai rode back.
Zhou Kai, his oversized school uniform billowing in the wind and his hair messy, was hurrying back to the building, clearly in a rush. He was so focused on the path ahead that he didn’t notice He Ye standing by the library door, his eyes tracking Zhou Kai’s every move.
As Zhou Kai approached the stairs to the teaching building, He Ye’s expression darkened. A sense of unease filled him, and without hesitation, he started walking towards the building as well, his steps deliberate.
The sun was starting to dip below the horizon, casting long shadows. The teaching building was now shrouded in darkness, the last remnants of daylight fading away.
As Zhou Kai climbed the stairs to the classroom, the entire building was eerily quiet, with hardly anyone around. It felt lifeless, and while he wasn’t necessarily scared, he didn’t want to linger. He just wanted to grab his phone and leave quickly.
The classroom door was closed, but since it wasn’t a holiday, the boarding students were still expected to study, so it wasn’t locked. Zhou Kai opened the door and entered. There were no lights on, but he could make his way to his seat by the dim light from outside. He stood by his desk and bent down to feel inside his desk pocket. Unable to find it, he crouched and peered inside.
Every senior’s desk was stuffed with books and materials. Zhou Kai rummaged for a while before finally spotting his phone wedged between a few textbooks. He had no idea when it had slipped inside.
Relieved to have found it, Zhou Kai straightened up and turned to leave. But when he saw someone blocking the door, standing with their back to the light, his phone slipped from his hand and hit the floor with a loud thud.
Normally, Zhou Kai would have been upset, but right now, he couldn’t care less.
He Ye’s gaze moved from Zhou Kai’s shocked face down to the phone on the floor. His emotions began to boil, and his eyes darkened, becoming as deep as ink. Without saying a word, he walked forward, pushing the door shut behind him. He hesitated for only a moment before locking it.
With the windows closed and the door now locked, the classroom became even darker.
Zhou Kai’s scalp tingled, and his body froze as he began to tremble uncontrollably. He stared wide-eyed at He Ye, remembering the last time in the men’s restroom, when He Ye had pinned him and tugged at his shirt. His face flushed, then turned pale, and as He Ye closed the distance between them, Zhou Kai snapped back to reality. He quickly crouched to pick up the phone from the floor.
The front door was locked, and the only way out was the back door.
But this wasn’t an empty restroom—there were desks everywhere. It was hard enough to avoid the corners of desks while walking, let alone running.
He Ye had come with a purpose, and Zhou Kai never stood a chance. He was barely halfway across the room before He Ye grabbed him by the waist from behind, pulling him back and snatching the phone from his hand.
Zhou Kai’s waist was held tightly by He Ye’s arm, and his back pressed against He Ye’s chest, his breath warm against the back of his neck. Zhou Kai struggled desperately, elbowing and trying to break free, kicking his legs in a frantic panic, his breathing quick and shallow.
He Ye gritted his teeth, refusing to let go. In the struggle, a chair was knocked over, and Zhou Kai stepped on He Ye’s foot, but He Ye didn’t release him. If anything, he only tightened his grip.
Zhou Kai felt like his waist might snap from the pressure, a mix of frustration and fear rising in him… but strangely, there was also an unexplainable sense of arousal.
When He Ye shoved him against the wall, Zhou Kai stopped struggling, his forehead pressing against the cool surface. His chest was heaving, and his eyes blurred with tears. In a quiet, almost pleading voice, he asked, “What do you want from me?”
He Ye’s heart was pounding so fast it hurt. He’d been feeling this way for days now, and the person causing this turmoil was now under his control, asking what he wanted.
Tightening his grip around Zhou Kai’s waist, He Ye panted and frowned. He was very hot, his whole body was burning up, and the hot mist he exhaled when he panted even wetted Zhou Kai’s bare neck.
Zhou Kai couldn’t stand He Ye’s moist breath. He turned his head to avoid it and pushed He Ye’s hands away from his waist, calling out, “It hurts, don’t be so rough…”
Sparks were flying in He Ye’s head. He almost growled out a low curse, “Fuck you, shut up!”
But it was too late, Zhou Kai had already said his piece.
Heat rushed to his face, and Zhou Kai was instantly ignited, restless, with a hint of arousal. Biting his lip, Zhou Kai was ashamed of his sensitivity and afraid of being discovered by He Ye, so he began to twist and push, trying to escape from He Ye’s restraint.
He Ye wasn’t doing much better. He had already reacted to Zhou Kai’s pushing and rubbing, and now that Zhou Kai was twisting his waist against him, it was like pouring oil on a fire. The fire in his body and the fire in his heart burned fiercely, and in a moment, he was fully hard, aching within his underwear.
“Fuck you, don’t move!”
With a violent and angry growl, He Ye pushed Zhou Kai even closer to the wall, and without hesitation, he pressed his lower body against Zhou Kai’s buttocks, and gasped at the pleasure of the contact.
“Ah!”
After crying out, he quickly bit his lip. Zhou Kai’s vision blurred.
What did he feel? What was that hard thing against his buttocks?
Zhou Kai wasn’t stupid. He just couldn’t believe it – He Ye was actually aroused, and in this situation, he was still pressing against him.
He was shocked, surprised, and ecstatic, and he didn’t know which emotion was stronger.
Suddenly, there was a sound of conversation from upstairs, followed by the sound of chasing and laughter.
Zhou Kai was startled and his overheated brain became clearer. Immediately, he was afraid of being discovered and began to try to get out of He Ye’s embrace.
He Ye had warned him not to move, but Zhou Kai just wouldn’t listen, he was just so annoying.
Closing his red eyes and opening them again, He Ye became ruthless. He didn’t know what to do, but he knew he had to take off his clothes. So, with one hand controlling Zhou Kai’s waist, he began to violently and fiercely pull at Zhou Kai’s pants.
Zhou Kai was wearing school pants, which had an elastic waistband, and they came down with a tug. Feeling his buttocks go cold, Zhou Kai was startled and quickly reached down to pull up his pants, resisting He Ye.
Everything was in chaos. What was He Ye trying to do? Zhou Kai suddenly realized.
Pulling at his pants and shaking his head, Zhou Kai’s voice was soft and trembling as he begged He Ye, “Don’t do this, it’s not right…”
He Ye couldn’t bear to hear him say no. After a stalemate, he couldn’t pull down the pants, so he reached up directly, slipping his hand inside the hem of the shirt. Before Zhou Kai could react, he was still clutching the pants, and he felt a chill on the skin of his stomach, followed by He Ye’s fingers landing on the fragile and sensitive nipple on his right chest.
People upstairs had already started coming downstairs, and their voices were especially clear in the empty teaching building.
He Ye grinned, like a wild beast that had caught its prey, and opened his mouth, biting viciously into the prey’s neck.
With his nipple being pulled outward and his neck being bitten, Zhou Kai’s eyes welled up with tears, and he tremblingly reached through his clothes to press down on his right chest, pressing down on He Ye’s tormenting hand. He couldn’t cry out, because He Ye had released his grip on his waist and moved upwards, covering his mouth.
He Ye was especially cruel, twisting and playing with Zhou Kai’s nipple between his fingers, not caring at all if he might damage the tiny thing.
Zhou Kai’s waist trembled, his right chest ached and numbed, and he panted, wetting the palm of He Ye’s hand that was covering his mouth.
The people upstairs had come down to this floor and were happily discussing what to do to pass the time.
He Ye released his bite on Zhou Kai’s neck, his throat moved several times, then leaned close to Zhou Kai’s ear, and in a voice thick with lust, said, “I’m going to fuck you.”
Every word was clear and distinct.
Zhou Kai’s eyes widened in shock at the sudden words, and his body involuntarily shook violently.
If He Ye hadn’t covered his mouth, he could have screamed.
He Ye felt his reaction every moment, smiling with his mouth but with deep darkness in his eyes, his lower body hard.
He Ye felt that the hand covering Zhou Kai’s mouth was too wet, so he loosened his grip a little, but Zhou Kai grabbed his hand and bit him hard on the back of his hand, not letting go, retaliating.
He Ye frowned in pain but didn’t retract his hand. His other hand was still on Zhou Kai’s nipple, and as Zhou Kai bit him, he played with the nipple, twisting and pulling, rubbing and twisting, returning all the pain.
Finally, the people left.
Zhou Kai couldn’t take it anymore, and he loosened his teeth, whimpering as he pulled at He Ye’s hand that was hidden in his clothes, pleading silently and weakly.
He Ye arched his back and gently bumped his lower body against Zhou Kai’s buttocks, his voice hoarse as he said, “When?”
Zhou Kai stubbornly said, “There’s no such thing.”
He Ye was enraged by Zhou Kai’s response. He pulled his hand out of Zhou Kai’s shirt and turned the person around by their shoulders.
Finally, they were face to face. As soon as Zhou Kai looked up and met He Ye’s gaze, he lost his previous arrogance and looked away, pursing his lips.
He Ye supported his head with his hand and forcefully grabbed Zhou Kai’s chin, forcing him to look at him, saying, “Didn’t you want this when you were being provocative? Now that I’m doing as you asked, why are you acting so high and mighty?”
Zhou Kai glared at him, angry and aggrieved, and retorted, “Didn’t you tell me not to mess with you? Now I’ve done as you said, what are you doing?” Red-faced, he slapped He Ye’s hand away and muttered softly, “Fuck off, I don’t want to. What’s wrong with me being provocative? You don’t have to look, do you? I didn’t force you to…”
He Ye stared at him, listening to his rude mumbling, and narrowed his eyes, dangerous like a wolf. If he had said he wanted to fuck Zhou Kai before, it was just a reckless remark made in anger, but now, when he said he wanted to fuck Zhou Kai, he really meant it.
He wouldn’t feel better until he fucked Zhou Kai.
“I’m going to fuck you.” Taking a breath, He Ye pressed his face close to Zhou Kai’s, staring intently at Zhou Kai’s flickering eyes, and said in a calm voice, “You can’t refuse. Things aren’t up to you. Ever since you added me on that anonymous account and sent me the first photo, it hasn’t been up to you. Understand? Hmm?”
Pursing his lips, Zhou Kai’s eyes were wet. Understand what? He didn’t understand.
He only knew that he wasn’t bothering He Ye anymore, and now He Ye was bothering him instead. And he said… he said he was going to fuck him…
Fuck!
What a mess!
The bell rang, signaling the end of school.
The classroom was pitch black. If they hadn’t been so close, they wouldn’t have been able to see each other’s expressions.
Retracting his hand from the wall, He Ye clicked his tongue and frowned.
There wasn’t enough time.
But this matter wasn’t over yet.
Frustrated, he grabbed his hair and had to put this matter aside for now. He glanced at Zhou Kai, who was lowering his head and pursing his lips, and turned to walk forward. As he passed Zhou Kai’s desk where his phone was, He Ye paused and tapped the desk lightly with his hand.
Zhou Kai looked up, and when he saw He Ye picking up his backpack, his eyes welled up with tears.
“Midterm exams…” he began to say.
He Ye, who was patting his backpack, turned around and looked at him.
Zhou Kai stubbornly looked back at him, using the darkness as cover, trembling as he finished speaking.
He said, “After the midterm exams… I’ll give you…”
The word “do” left his mouth, and Zhou Kai couldn’t stand anymore. He leaned against the wall and slid down to the floor, burying his head between his arms like a turtle retreating into its shell.
He Ye looked at him in surprise. His emotions shifted rapidly, but in the end, all that remained was a sense of satisfaction, pure satisfaction.
He stared at Zhou Kai for a while before turning and walking toward the front door.
At the door, He Ye raised his hand and turned on all the lights in the front half of the classroom before stepping out.
As he walked down the stairs, He Ye’s steps were light, his chest rising and falling with each step, bouncing up and down.
He didn’t know how good the curve of his mouth looked as it curled upward.
If he had known, he wouldn’t have shamelessly said it was just a game.
Inside the classroom, Zhou Kai sat on the floor, his mind in disarray, unable to tell whether it was day or night. He felt like crying one moment and laughing the next, his emotions a whirlwind, complicated and hard to express.
He thought about He Ye’s words, thought about his own words, and in the end, his head started to hurt from overthinking. His face turned red and hot, and then suddenly, he stood up.
He grabbed his phone and backpack, turned off the lights in the classroom, and closed the door behind him as he quietly left.
The midterm exams… everything could wait until after the midterms were over.

Too much. He Ye went too far.
Thank you both for the chapter.
