Chapter 13: Subtle

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

One, two, three.

The nurse squinted her eyes and confirmed once again that he was indeed SSS-Level.

The doctor and the nurse looked at each other, and then looked at the dragon’s tail stuck near his head. The expression in his eyes changed, and some sweat came out of his forehead.

The man’s fingers moved a little, and the doctor immediately screamed, “Don’t let go yet!”

“It’s okay, he’s asleep now.” The young man let go of the tail, and it really dangled down to the side of the bed very peacefully. “Now you can touch him.”

The doctor was shocked. He was not able to touch him again as he moved his heel back a small step, afraid to wake up the sleeping teenager on the bed as he had unbuttoned a button on his shirt collar and calmed down a little.

“SSS-Level mental energy, growth-period young dragon, right?” The doctor, in the spirit of professionalism, straightened his glasses again and had a muffled voice. He all but lost his nice and neat attitude, “Sorry, I didn’t know his mental energy level. It seems that he is indeed a young alpha.”

The stronger the mental energy of the dragon, the higher the probability of differentiation into an alpha.

Yu Hanzhou gave a “hmm”, “But his differentiation symptoms are strange.”

“SSS-Level white feathered dragon,” the doctor looked at the tail, “nothing strange can happen.”

White feathered dragons were too rare.

Many of the common attempts to judge ordinary high-level dragons probably wouldn’t apply, as no one had any in-depth knowledge. Maybe only other high-level dragons of the same species, or the same SSS Level mental energy.

“I’ll just have to do a routine physical examination on him first.” The doctor gathered himself and no longer dared to look at him as a soft little omega this time.

He touched his hand first cautiously, and found it to be slightly cool. His fingertips touched the muscles that were soft and smooth.

He had doubts for a moment.

‘Was he really not an omega?’

‘No, he was a SSS-Level white feathered dragon, he can’t be an omega, right?’

The doctor shook his head and dispelled his doubts. When he touched his hand and found no response, he had the guts to look at the little bit of red skin at the back of Ming Huan’s neck.

His hair looked like a dark chestnut color, with a slightly cold-tone of gray.

However, after touching a bit of hair, he found it to be actually softer than he expected and not at all tingly.

“Can he smell pheromones?”

“He can, but I’m not sure if it’s persistent.”

It was clear that he could smell pheromone intermittently even though he hadn’t differentiated yet.

It seemed probable that it was indeed differentiation phase syndrome.

“Has he been exposed to omega pheromone recently?”

“A little exposure today, shortly, around this afternoon.”

The doctor asked some more questions about what had come up in the recent days.

The young man acted meticulously, and basically began to consciously keep this young dragon away from omegas the moment he noticed something was wrong.

He basically completely eliminated his encounter with omega pheromones from school, home, and outside.

‘But why does he still show anomalies?’

‘And he was visibly irritable just from an afternoon of brief contact with strong omega pheromones, it was difficult to this point.’

“He may be of the type that reacts extremely strongly.” The doctor first got someone to prescribe a strong pheromone isolate, “The isolate should isolate all the effects of pheromone on undifferentiated individuals for a short period of time, but there are individual differences in the effects and length of time. So we suggest that we can prescribe some backup first. For the rest, we will wait until we do a full-body examination first.”

Ming Huan finished the exam. He woke up before he opened his eyes.

Ming Huan went in and actually received a letter from an unknown source.

“Repair of an ancient warplane, can you take it?”

‘Answer, my ass.’

‘What a mess I’m in here.’

Ming Huan was about to delete the message when he suddenly saw the next one.

“Payment of 10 million star coins.”

The interface stopped at the screen asking whether or not to delete the letter, Ming Huan raised his hand and quickly selected “No”. Then he returned a message with his backhand: “Please ask when you need my services.”

‘Ten million

‘Which rich woman was online precision poverty alleviation, ah?’

Too many things have happened recently.

Who knew how things would change in the future? He had to first save money to get the right to use that one agricultural planet.

“First look at the model. If you can fix it, I will pay five million first.”

Ming Huan scanned the blurred photo, which was so blurred that he could barely make out an outline.

“Can it be repaired?”

‘No, rich woman, you can at least-’

‘Give me the original picture.’

Ming Huan simply deflected the photo a little bit to see the design of the flanks, and vaguely felt that this warplane looked familiar.

Ah this, this was the Imperial model ZL547.

“Wasn’t this model all folded up a thousand years ago?” Ming Huan sent a letter, “Where did you get it?”

The dialog box, which was always returned in seconds, stalled for a long time.

Ming Huan almost decided that it was a fraud, and just as he was about to quit, he received another letter.

“So you’re really from the Federation.”

Ming Huan, ‘?’

“This war machine is indeed not available in the Federation.”

Ming Huan froze for a moment before he once again pulled up his information profile to confirm that he was indeed in the Anonymous Trading Center and had erased all location and personal information.

It was not surprising to guess that he was from the Federation.

‘But what do you mean “really”? This tone of voice was very strange.’

This kind of place was similar to black market trading, and there were really all kinds of people.

He once again went to look at that remote near-exile area of the inconspicuous agrarian planet that would was up for auction, and even if he bid a little higher, he was exactly 9.7 million short.

“I know that you are short of money. I only have one of this type of warplane, if you can fix it, 10 million star coins, I won’t deprive you of a penny. However, you can’t destroy it.”

This kind of one-shot deal in the black market, even if the item was crap, you could not get a refund.

‘I also cannot deprive myself of 10 million.’

‘There was money not earned easily, son of a bitch.’

Ming Huan did not key in on these details and quickly agreed to the deal after seeing that the other party had really punched in five million on the neutral trading platform. He held back his excitement, “I have a bit of a reputation in this business. Don’t worry. The money cannot be earned if the goods are smashed.”

He exited the anonymous trading platform.

Ming Huan slowly opened his eyes and found Yu Hanzhou sitting on the balcony outside the hospital room. He was wearing black civilian clothes and a pair of glasses with his somewhat mismatched grooming which softened his harsh silhouette.

However, Ming Huan knew it was Yu Hanzhou with a glance.

His back was always straight, and even without his uniform, he stood like a pine which made him very recognizable.

He only blinked twice before Yu Hanzhou turned around and locked eyes with Ming Huan through the floor-to-ceiling glass door.

The slender legs took a step in, “We have given you the isolation agent, should be effective for the time being.”

He saw Yu Hanzhou’s terminal flashing which should be related to something in the military department.

He seemed to hesitate for a moment, “I have to go back to the military building, the examination is done. You can lie down and rest for a while. Wait for me to come back to pick you up.”

Before leaving, he added, “Just in case, have less contact with omegas. The effect and length of the isolation agent varies from person to person.”

Ming Huan touched the back of his neck.

There was no more pain or itching.

The isolate seemed to have some effect.

As he thought of this, three knocks sounded politely at the door.

After getting permission to open the door, the door opened with a slight crack. Ming Huan saw clearly that it was the son of the director of Capital Hospital, Shu Yun.

He was one of his harem in the original plotline.

As soon as Shu Yun opened the door, he could clearly smell the pheromone. This made him subconsciously take a big step back, and he immediately turned to another diversion to take a breather. The back of his neck was so irritated and sore that it had reached a point where it was simply too much to bear. The pheromone that now surrounded Ming Huan’s body was even stronger than when the man had just come in with Ming Huan in his arms.

It felt like he was floating in the air.

He vaguely perceived that the pheromone pressure of this man wearing a black jacket was very strong, and he should be a dragon with an SS-mental energy level.

‘Ming Huan should not go astray, right?’

The young dragon was still young, and Admiral Yu was busy every day and probably had little time to look after him.

As Ming Huan’s senior, he should remind him of this.

Although it was said that the union of an alpha and omega was protected and supported by the law, it was also in line with the physiology.

However, there would always be some alphas in this world who would like alphas.

Human or not, dragon race or not.

He had seen many such things in hospitals, where alphas were seriously injured after forcing a relationship with another alpha, and this kind of love was usually twisted and crazy.

That an alpha would release pheromone to say to another undifferentiated quasi-alpha that that omega was theirs.

Shu Yun silently applied a fast-acting isolate.

After waiting for three minutes, he was finally able to approach that ward again.

Ming Huan was a very good-looking young dragon.

His looks were different from Xie Shuci, who was as light as  tea. Instead, he was bright and stimulating.

He was like sparkling wine. He was rich, strong, and beautiful.

There will be an alpha that will like him which is not a hard thing to understand.

“Ming Huan,” Shu Yun pushed the door once more.

“Senior.” Ming Huan sat up a bit. The effect of the sedative had not completely worn off and his movements seemed a bit feeble.

“Who is that man?” Shu Yun now temporarily could not smell the pheromone on Ming Huan, but vaguely still felt suffocated as if he were worried that he would soon come back again, “Forget it, let’s not talk about it. Ming Huan, you have not yet differentiated, moreover, your future is to be an alpha, an alpha can not be with alpha. ” Shu Yun opened the door and said this.

Ming Huan made an “ah?” sound.

“An alpha and alpha together, not only can they not produce offspring, but they can also easily hurt each other. Alpha pheromone itself is incompatible with each other, not to mention the soothing effect. Ming Huan, you do not want to follow this path, I have seen this in a lot of hospitals, during the susceptible period, they were bitten all over. I’ve seen a lot of alphas hurt….”

‘What’s that?’

Ming Huan rubbed his brow and finally interrupted when the other party took a breath, “Who said I was going to be with an alpha?”

“Then what happened to the man who came with you today? He left his pheromone on you! He wants to possess you!” Shu Yun had studied medicine entirely and was well versed in the kind of behavior that divides the territory of an alpha.

It seemed to him that this was standard encroachment marking behavior.

The powerful adult alpha was trying to infest this young, undifferentiated alpha with pheromone.

Ming Huan, “….”

‘What?’

‘Yu Hanzhou, trying to possess me?’

‘Off the big spectrum, bro.’

“That person doesn’t have a trace of an omega scent on him and should never have had an omega. Maybe you can’t understand, but there are just some alphas in this world that like alphas!”

He felt like laughing.

Yu Hanzhou, the kind of dog man who has no emotions and only gives orders every day, how can there be an omega?

He was single.

The main thing was that his personality was not good, and his preference for alpha or omega had nothing to do with it.

Such a person would either discuss business with you every day regarding your strict requirements or enroll you in a course full of classes to keep you busy every day in order to create personal value for self-improvement. Being married to him will only involve him forcing his ideas to regulate your life.

‘What was the difference between living such a life and being in jail?’

Ming Huan did not directly tell Shu Yun that it was Admiral Yu, but only said, “Don’t worry, I only like omegas.”

“Ming Huan, you have to trust me.” Shu Yun looked at his expression of not taking it seriously, and his face tensed somewhat, “An alpha’s desire to encroach is very scary, there are some radical alphas that when faced with what they like, they will involuntarily scratch into the realm of him so that others will not stain him. Although you will also be an alpha, before you differentiate, you must also protect against him as well….”

A shadow passed by the half-buried door, and Ming Huan’s eyes were sharp as he immediately asked, “Who is it?”

Shu Yun was startled by the atmosphere and subconsciously stood up towards the young alpha. He saw a thin white hand holding the door handle, pushing the door open a little.

It was Xie Shuci. He came in slowly. He swept his eyes at Shu Yun, and put the bouquet of flowers in his hand on the bed. When he first enrolled in school some years ago, Ming Huan and this senior had a very good relationship. Later, when the senior graduated, the contact between them was less.

“Why is Senior here?” Xie Shuci spoke warmly with his curly eyelashes drooping as if he was a bit shy, “Ming Huan, I’m sorry, I didn’t know you had severe differentiation phase syndrome, I shouldn’t have taken you to my house. My little father is an already differentiated omega, his pheromone has an effect on you, right?”

Shu Yun was shocked, so Ming Huan had differentiation syndrome.

He was also an omega, so was his pheromone also….

Shu Yun’s face suddenly looked bad and he panicked before he moved away from Ming Huan, “Sorry, I think I should stay away from you now.”

Xie Shuci silently gave way to the omega a little.

“It’s okay, I got an isolate, I won’t be affected by your pheromone now.” Ming Huan knew that Shu Yun also meant well and softly relieved him, “It’s okay for you to be here.”

After hearing Ming Huan’s kind statement, Xie Shuci’s dark eyes blinked slowly.

“Senior, I didn’t even see you at the engagement party, say hello to Mr. Commander for me, I’ll visit next time.”

Ming Huan couldn’t help but lament in his heart.

‘Yeah, this one was no longer his husband as he was already engaged to someone else.’

‘Oooh, Shu Yun was also a good sweet omega. He was good-looking, although not as good-looking as Xie Shuci, but could also be considered clean and sensible. This particular person could be the one who was a gentle little brother.’

“Senior, thank you for the reminder about today’s incident. I will pay more attention to it. Next time when I have the opportunity, I will invite you to dinner….”

Xie Shuci silently put the bouquet in the empty glass vase.

“Ming Huan, it’s not good for you to invite Senior to dinner alone, how about you invite Senior and his fiancé to join you?”

‘Together. What am I then? A kilowatt super light bulb?’

“If you feel awkward alone, you can bring me along.” Xie Shuci glanced at Shu Yun in a white lab coat and smiled quietly, “The two of us as well as Senior and his fiancé. That way the four of us won’t be awkward for dinner.”

That was very sensible.

As expected of Xie Shuci, the idea is just thoughtful and considerate.

“You two?” Shu Yun noticed that something was wrong.

Xie Shuci finished arranging the bouquet, with a little smile in the corner of her eyes, “Yeah. I went to do a pre-match. The person with the highest match is Ming Huan. Senior doesn’t know yet.”

Shu Yun felt a slight subtle, indescribable feeling.

YH’s terminal sounded around the time MH replied to the black market job offer… wonder if he’s the client!
SY; that indescribable feeling could be envy 😏
In regard to MH’s differentiating… with XS being an SS level omega, I don’t get why the Doctor is dismissing his thoughts about the possibility of MH being one too. Same goes for YH. It could be the Alpha pheromones upsetting him, not the Omega.
Thank you both for the chapter.
