Chapter 3: Ice cream

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Mimosa

The post heated up at once.

[high-level? wow wow wow, take a photo first.]

[Yo, becoming a small dragon, brother or sister ah ~ you’re an omega.]

[yue~ your cunning finish got me upstairs.]

[Hand the pot upstairs. By the way, OP should eat more meat, eat meat to grow taller~]

[I am middle-level, I differentiated fifty years ago and it seems that my taste buds have changed a little, but I especially like to eat raw lamb.]

[I remember that I often had diarrhea and bad intestines during that time. In fact, the growth period of an alpha or omega seems to be the most difficult, betas will have it better. I am omega.]

[Reprinted: How to raise a long-term dragon? OP can read this, it’s a famous professor’s summary!]

Ming Huan clicked on it.

It was a simple one-minute holographic video commentary.

The first thirty seconds of the content showed: the growth period of the dragon will show some signs of the differentiation period. For example, differentiating into an alpha dragon in the future will cause the growth period to become more competitive. Sight and hearing will become sharper, while the personality may become rebellious. The body will grow taller faster, nails will sharpen, and mental power fluctuations will be powerful. In contrast, differentiating into an omega dragon in the future will cause them to have a weak stomach and emotional vulnerability during the growth period. They will be sensitive to touch in certain areas of the body, while the body becomes more slender and slim giving a delicate appearance. Mental power fluctuations will be relatively weak.

For future differentiation into an alpha or omega to be predicated, then it’s important to pay more attention to the occurrence of “intermittent differentiation syndrome”.

Thus, he was just emotional because his personality became more “competitive”?

That seemed to make sense.

During the cub stage, although he was a little dissatisfied with Yu Hanzhou, he never dared to be so head-on!

The remaining 30 seconds were then spent persuading him to buy a course on coping strategies for intermittent differentiation syndrome.

Ming Huan clicked close on it.

Ming Huan had already learned about intermittent differentiation syndrome. In fact, the coping method was very simple.

It meant that one should stay away from the opposite sex pheromone.

In the future, before differentiation, he needed to not have much contact with omegas.

When Ming Huan returned to the post, there were many more replies below.

[Was a differentiation prediction made when Huan was born? The future for me is to differentiate into beta.]

Ming Huan thought for a moment and slightly hid his brain power level as he added a reply: [I am predicting that the probability of differentiation into alpha is higher than 90%.]

[Woo-woo so high.]

[Dragon shocked.jpg]

Actually, Ming Huan actually replied with one slightly lower.

After the first genetic test, the system at that time gave a figure of 99.9%.

This meant that there was only a one in a thousand chance that he would differentiate into an omega.

The forum had questions about the differentiation value that again triggered intense discussion like a building that soon covered hundreds of floors.

[I was interested at first, the test results from the identification section said I was 33.3% alpha, 33.3% beta, 33.3% omega]

[Reply: Talking out your ass, continue upstairs].

[Reply: Then my dad went to the identification section and made a big fuss.]

[Reply: What’s wrong, your dad doesn’t feel satisfied with this identification result? Did he want an alpha or omega?]

[Reply: No, he asked, what was the 0.1% probability?]

[Hahahahahahahahaha, then what, what did the people in the identification section say?]

[The person in the appraisal section said that the system results retain the last decimal place. The three 33.3% infinite loop sum is equal to 1. My father did not believe that, he quarreled with the identification bureau for three days, had to say that one of the three must be 33.4%, he wanted identification results in advance of my choice in school
.]

The thread was completely crooked.

The bottom bunch began to discuss whether the “0.1%” difference in the identification value was important or not.

Some say that it’s negligible.

Some say that it is not.

0.1% is also a probability.

[What school did you go to after that?]

[I kind of feel like I’ve always been a little impatient since I entered my formative years. Irritable and aggressive. A little repulsive to other alpha pheromones, and then the back of my neck is always itchy.]

Ming Huan was shocked and touched his own neck.

No wonder he also felt a little pain and itchiness on his neck when he took a shower yesterday.

It seems that he was indeed going to differentiate into alpha as well.

That’s why Yu Hanzhou scratched his tail as he would be very angry. Although he had not yet completely differentiated, an alpha’s sense of territory is very strong. That’s why he was so red-eyed just now, and that was the strong resistance of a would-be alpha to the other alpha’s manipulation of him.

He almost thought that he was used to being an omega in his previous life.

He was so ashamed of the touch of an unmarked alpha that he felt indignant.

Ming Huan let out a small breath.

The problem wasn’t serious.

After his mind calmed down, he noticed that his horns and dragon tail had disappeared.

Yu Hanzhou saw him return to normal and took him to the hospital to buy some alpha-specific body cleansers and daily necessities, as well as some corresponding nutritional supplements after a detailed physical examination at the hospital.

Most importantly, a bunch of alpha-specific inhibitors at the time of initial differentiation was bought.

‘Oh, so when he talked about buying things, he meant to buy these.’

Even though Yu Hanzhou and him had lived for three years under the same roof, the degree of intimacy between them was worse than living in partnership.

For the past three years, Yu Hanzhou’s attitude towards him was cold as if it were simply a relationship of command and obedience between a superior and a subordinate, and he never communicated with him emotionally.

For a long time, Ming Huan felt that Yu Hanzhou did not want to raise him at all.

He was only forced to by the verdict of the military court.

Conventional licenses like closed pilot manual operation license and A-class starship pilot’s license need not be said. He knew by heart the cockpit control keys of all kinds of top fighter jets, and since the end of last year, he had been preparing for the Junior Commander exam.

He forgot that Yu Hanzhou was also going to be there today.

He took off his uniform and walked on the busy commercial street of Capital Star wearing a pair of glasses with some cosmetic effects like an ordinary person. Even new pajamas and underwear were prepared for him. Ming Huan suddenly felt very embarrassed. Especially when Yu Hanzhou weighed the size of his underwear and paid the bill without looking at him.

Ming Huan’s ears burned a little red. Suddenly, he felt very uncomfortable. ‘What’s going on? This is the underlying competitive spirit during the alpha growth period. Yes, it’s the competitive spirit.’ Ming Huan quickly changed his mood and looked down at himself. ‘What makes you think you know my size?’

He saw it clearly, Yu Hanzhou bought size M!

“I’ll grow taller.” Ming Huan had a disgusted expression on his face.

Yu Hanzhou thought about it and didn’t buy any more underwear, but he instead bought him an extra pair of pajamas that were a bit bigger than the original size. He also bought a few pairs of shoes that were a larger size. This purchase today reminded him of that day three years ago when he was identified as SSS-level. Yu Hanzhou had personally flown to the garbage star full of stormy yellow sand, and his squeaky-clean leather boots stepped onto the hot sand.

Ming Huan also did not know what happened to his memory as it suddenly revealed those details that he had never recalled before.

Ming Huan was still a 13 or 14 year old teenager, but based on the age of dragons, he was just a 15-day old dragon.

Yu Hanzhou didn’t mind his refugee-like tattered clothes and dirty hands.

He took his hand directly from the identification section.

At that time, Yu Hanzhou’s hand was warm and dry. His own hand was a smaller one than it was now and could be completely wrapped in his palm –

‘Wait a minute, wait a minute.’

‘Why am I thinking back to this?’

Ming Huan roughly shook his head once again.

He looked at Yu Hanzhou’s back from not far away.

He realized that after picking himself up from Capital Star, Yu Hanzhou had carried himself like this where he dressed up a little and then took him shopping.

Yu Hanzhou didn’t care about him though.

However, he was quick to spend money on him.

It was probably because he had no husband and no one else to spend his money on.

Ming Huan suddenly couldn’t walk. He saw two huge lifelike ice cream projections in the street window, bobbing up and down.

So there was ice cream for sale here as well.

In his past life, he loved to eat all kinds of ice cream flavors.

Yu Hanzhou did not hear footsteps following behind him so he turned around and followed Ming Huan’s eyes with his eyebrows scrunched, “What is that?”

Unexpectedly, Yu Hanzhou actually did not know what ice cream was.

It was probably because in the interstellar era, this was considered a very cold and ancient food.

“This thing is called ice cream, it’s something very delicious, fragrant and sweet, lick a mouthful for it to melt in your mouth
.”

“How much, please?”

The two omega human girls next to him gathered around.

Yu Hanzhou stood still and took a sidelong glance at Ming Huan.

That gaze was indifferent.

“Alphas won’t like to eat this thing.”

Next to the two human girls passing him, Yu Hanzhou smelled that sweet and cloying smell and suddenly frowned, “Let’s go, the family’s new beef has arrived.”

Ming Huan also smelled it. The sweet and rich chocolate scent.

In his previous life, his grandmother would prepare chocolate ice cream cake for him every year on his birthday. Ming Huan rarely asked Yu Hanzhou for anything. However, somehow, he stood still this time and pointed to the ice cream store as he said, “Just once, can you buy it? I want to eat it.”

Yu Hanzhou’s dark eyes stared at him emotionless.

After a while, he saw him still standing in the same place.

Ming Huan didn’t know what was going on today, but he just really wanted to have a bite of ice cream. If Yu Hanzhou didn’t buy it for him, he could go buy it himself. He just wanted Yu Hanzhou to wait for him.

“Ming Huan. Every day, you either think about going out and drinking with omegas or buying these kinds of snacks that only omegas would like. I didn’t ask because you weren’t feeling well these two days. Now answer me. Who did you give the bracelet I bought you to, and who sat in the passenger seat of your closed craft yesterday? Who left that unopened gift behind?”

Yu Hanzhou took the cyan gift box out from the accompanying space.

The pink satin on it was finely tied into a beautiful bow.

“Ming Huan, are you in love with any omegas?”

Ming Huan obviously did not keep up with Yu Hanzhou’s thoughts.

Yu Hanzhou’s voice had become a few degrees lower than usual, and his sharp and straight jawline was taut. His profile against the light cast a shadow at his neck.

“The Junior Commander exam is in five days, so don’t forget what you have to do.”

Ming Huan suddenly realized.

So this is to prevent him from falling in love early.

‘Ha.’

“Is it that easy to fall in love? Naive!”

Ming Huan couldn’t resist rolling his eyes, “You don’t give me money either
.”

“I will approve all reasonable expenses.”

‘Approve.’

‘This word was used.’

‘You really think I am your subordinate.’

Ming Huan subconsciously flattened his mouth in dissatisfaction.

‘I don’t care, I won’t eat.’

Ming Huan hung his head. His eyelashes were long and curly, and his light brown pupils were as clear as glazed balls. He blinked, and did not say anything as he continued to follow Yu Hanzhou.

Once upon a time, Ming Huan also listened to what he said.

However, Yu Hanzhou never had a moment to feel that he and the word “obedient” could be applied together as Ming Huan is a small fierce beast with fangs.

Ming Huan himself did not even notice that every time he obeyed, the hostility in his eyes appeared all over the place.

As if he were going to recoil at any moment.

However this time felt a little different.

“Junior
. Junior Commander exam, I will definitely pass it!” Ming Huan once again raised his hand and put up three fingers against his head, “Didn’t I say that last night?”

Yu Hanzhou’s eyes slightly stared.

The way Ming Huan licked his mouth showed a little bit of disappointment that could not be hidden.

The admiral smoothly gave him twenty star coins.

Ming Huan looked at the extra money on the terminal, and the hanging head suddenly raised.

Yu Hanzhou, “Go buy.”

Ming Huan’s hand that held the ice cream had just caught up with Yu Hanzhou, and he took a few bites to eat in a hurry. The iciness went to the brain, and  the sweetness that exploded on the tongue also immediately dominated his palate.

‘Cold.’

His tailbone started to slightly itch again.

Ming Huan was startled, but he couldn’t care less with the ice cream in his hand so he gulped it into his mouth and stuffed it into his head. Yu Hanzhou walked in front, but his hand was suddenly grabbed by a cold hand and pulled back, “Yu Hanzhou– “

He had just turned around, but the teenager actually crashed into his wide trench coat with his face buried under his chin.

The hand tightly wrapped around his waist.

He smelled a very sweet milk smell that was so sweet that it was cloying.

The teenager seemed to rub a bit of cream from the corner of his mouth on his wool shirt as well.

“Don’t push.”

Feeling the tight circle of his wrist being pulled apart, Ming Huan sullenly buried his head deeper and said, “My horns, they seem to be coming out.”

‘It will be seen.’

His tailbone was getting itchy.

He added very quietly, “My tail, my tail seems to be coming out too.”

The teenager seemed anxious, “What to do, Yu Hanzhou – I can’t control my tail
.”

I love that Ming Human seems to be misinterpreting everything and solely believing he’s an alpha 😭

Had my facepalm moment when he thought he was being competitive

Even though both are meant to be Alphas, I think YH might be attracted to MH and that’s why he dislikes the thought of MH flirting or falling in love.
They’re obviously going to be together… I hope.
Thanks Addis and Mimosa for the chapter.
