Chapter 56: Broken

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Mimosa

Xie Shuci’s eyes were as dark as the night.

He understood that he met Ming Huan accidentally this time.

For some reason, he didn’t know that Ming Huan had been living in seclusion lately and had cut off interaction with almost everyone. At first, he thought that Ming Huan was simply avoiding him.

After investigating deeper, he found out that it could be because of Yu Hanzhou who was in charge of Ming Huan.

Since the admiral was meddling in Ming Huan’s affairs, he missed this opportunity.

‘One meeting, and I don’t know what’s going to happen.’

“Ming Huan, do you remember the countless nights that I put this mecha together bit by bit? I didn’t think that this mecha could really make the leap, but you believed in it.” The cold moonlight spilled through the window onto the floor, and Xie Shuci’s face was as clear and elegant as ever.

“Of course I remember.”

‘Why remember the past during this time, ah?’

Ming Huan’s heart was a little anxious as he just wanted to confirm the Federation’s weapons and mecha reserve level, and Yu Hanzhou’s meeting was only half an hour till it was time to go home.

“I heard, before the evaluation, it was you who helped me to adjust the data. Later, during the explosion with the Empire, it was you who brought my mecha back. Thanks to you, without your repairs, I would not have had the chance to become a battleship designer so quickly. Today I went to the Military Department to look at my mecha again, and I thought about how I wanted Federation to have its own light-weight leap mecha, so that I could save a lot of surveying energy and save a lot of special energy costs. I also thought, if I could have the naming rights, I would like to use my birthday, because, with your company, I could design it.”

Xie Shuci said quietly.

“It’s the two of us, our joint effort. But now, I’m the only one who has the right to sign, so I’m sorry.”

Ming Huan’s heart warmed as he listened.

In the previous period, Xie Shuci had always given him a somewhat strange feeling, as if the attention was always kept on the point of their match and there were no other topics to talk about between them.

The reason was that during the omega differentiation period, Shuci’s emotional wave was too big.

With a few words, he went back to the same person as the one before differentiation.

Ming Huan went up and patted him on the shoulder, grinning, “You don’t have to feel guilty. You can realize your dream and I am very, very happy. I don’t need any byline, Shuci, it belongs to you completely, and the byline can only belong to you, of course, no one can steal it.”

Xie Shuci silently looked at the hand on his shoulder.

“No one can grab it.”

“Of course, who dares to grab it, I’ll be the first to help you fight him off!”

The little dragon waved two fists toward the air.

If it was before, then Xie Shuci would have been amused by his silly line.

Now, his eyes were like a pool of stagnant water, without any waves or ripples.

Ming Huan was a little embarrassed, and he slowly put the fists down. Intuitively, he took a few steps back and kept a little distance from Shuci again.

Due to how close they were, Xie Shuci noticed the blocking path on his neck, and his eyelids suddenly tensed.

His brows slightly wrinkled up.

His face revealed confusion for a few moments

After a moment, he said, “You differentiated.”

There was no mistake, Ming Huan’s body indeed had the smell of alpha pheromones.

The scent was still faint, but the top pheromone naturally made him feel a strong sense of repulsion.

‘Wait a minute.’

‘This smell…. seems to be one that I smelled before.

Xie Shuci held back the extreme discomfort inside and took a small step closer.

Ming Huan took two steps back and covered his neck, “What, what’s wrong….”

Xie Shuci was momentarily confused, and his gaze looked towards the location that Ming Huan blocked. His eyes gradually burned before they turned into a deeper icy coldness afterwards.

‘This was not right.’

‘This was not Ming Huan’s differentiated pheromone, this was the Admirals!’

‘It didn’t make sense.’

An alpha could never stain his smell on another alpha. Even if one got a little bit of it, it will be extremely uncomfortable due to the repulsion and the other’s scent would soon be covered up with their own pheromone.

Only the marking line would allow one to put pheromone that does not belong to you, and it will be residual on one’s body.

The black pupils of those dark eyes burst out with a few sharp awnings, as if harsh lightning was tearing the night sky. Ming Huan was startled by these huffy eyes, and he retreated a small step.

He at once raised his eyes at Ming Huan.

The lips were red, the skin was fair, and even the face was indescribably bright.

Those eyes were bright and pure, pale with a little gilt hue making it seem as if one wanted to drown in them.

“Are you….”

Xie Shuci’s hand shook, “Are you….”

Ming Huan did not know what he meant with “you”, and he frowned. Xie Shuci moved his gaze to the Ensign behind Ming Huan, and then he used his left hand to hold the right hand that was constantly trembling to force himself to calm down, “I…. There are some things I want to say to Ming Huan, please, you really can’t ignore it for a bit.”

Officer Lin vaguely perceived that something was a little wrong.

He didn’t want to interfere with the conversation between the two omegas at all, either.

“Sorry, I can’t. Ming Huan, come here.”

Xie Shuci didn’t bother with Officer Lin, but instead gave a wave to Ming Huan, “You’ve grown taller.”

Ming Huan stepped forward two steps, and Ensign Lin hesitated but did not follow.

Xie Shuci then measured Ming Huan, who was indeed somewhat shorter than him.

The growth period for Ming Huan did not increase Ming Huan’s height by much.

His overly bright features, and his beautiful and exquisite looks explained everything.

That’s why Ming Huan hadn’t been out for the last month or so. That’s why Yu Hanzhou had to keep him by his side.

After taking a few steps away from the Ensign, Ming Huan apparently also had something he wanted to say to Xie Shuci alone.

Shuci’s eyes were a burst of black, and his head seemed to constantly flash with a buzz. He could vaguely see Ming Huan’s moist lips open and close. With worried eyes, he concluded, “I mean, Admiral Yu, he actually had a lot of things that were laborious, such as you being willing to cooperate with the Technical Institute to complete the collection of data, everyone will be very…. “

“You didn’t like mentioning Admiral Yu that much before.”

Xie Shuci’s dark pupils quietly revealed something hidden in the muddy dark, “Why now, the sentence is about him?”

‘He was there.’

‘It seemed to be true.’

The tip of Ming Huan’s ears unconsciously reddened a bit and he coughed lightly, “No, I am talking about the truth. Shuci, I do not know if you have finished the omega adult course, but this world is not the same as it was during my cub stage….”

He observed Ming Huan’s look, and the way he mentioned Admiral Yu’s was not in a half-distant and disgusted way, but rather in a more than slightly intimate way.

Xie Shuci was cold.

The guess in his heart was almost true, and his face was gloomy.

The other party was a little taller than himself, and because he was too close, this inevitably caused a little oppression. Ming Huan wanted to take a step back, but was grabbed by the other side of his sleeve corner.

Xie Shuci’s voice was hoarse.

“Why did you not tell me earlier?”

“What….”

“That day when we met at the cafe, you had already started to step into the differentiation period, right?”

After seeing Ming Huan nod, the dark pupils burst out with a few sharp awnings, as if tearing the night sky with the harsh lightning.

Ming Huan was frightened by his sulking eyes, and retreated a small step.

‘How did he feel as if today’s Xie Shuci seemed to be like the previous one, but not quite?’

A subtle sense of oppression kept spreading between the two.

Even Ming Huan, who came to have little keen sense of the atmosphere, could clearly perceive it.

“That day, if only I had taken you with me.”

He snapped.

Xie Shuci looked clear and elegant, and a tear from his eye smashed on the back of Ming Huan’s hand.

The falling tears gave the sense of a broken person that was soft and pitiful.

“You, what happened to you….” Ming Huan also forgot to be afraid, and he lifted his hand to Xie Shuci to wipe off that wetness. Like how he was in the past three years, he softened his tone, “Do not cry, ah, why cry, do not cry, Shuci, we do not cry.”

One of the omegas cried, and the other went up to wipe his tears. Although Ensign Lin noticed that the atmosphere between the two felt a bit wrong, he felt that it was not very good to interrupt.

he was also paying close attention.

He vaguely seemed to feel that the Xie family’s heir was a little off.

Ming Huan felt that his fingertips to his gaze seemed to spill a little coldness.

His wrist was clenched to the point of pain for a moment.

“Ming Huan.”

Ming Huan bowed his head with reddened eyes, and Xie Shuci, seizing the opportunity, restrained his shoulders. It seemed like a soothing gesture, but the internal force was immense. Ming Huan felt a pain in his shoulder blades as if they were about to be crushed.

Xie Shuci embraced him gently, whispering in a hoarse voice near his ear, “You’ve differentiated into an omega, haven’t you?”

Unexpected changes occurred too quickly. The obstruction around his neck felt like it was torn away in an instant. The scent of omega pheromones lingered in the air. Xie Shuci’s pupils contracted suddenly, almost immediately wanting to take a bite.

A powerful alpha aura filled the mecha storage room, and the overwhelming mental energy of an SS-level pressured Lin Shao to move slowly. He hurriedly approached, attempting to pull Ming Huan away, but it was a moment too late.

Ming Huan immediately pushed him away, his sharp fangs grazing the edge of a gland, leaving a bright scratch. He retreated while covering his neck, and the room flickered with alternating light and darkness. Lights, equipment, one after another, continuously exploded.

‘Xie Shuci, he… was an alpha!!!’

The SS-level mental energy storm made Officer Lin almost instantly kneel, but he still upheld the strong will of the military to send an emergency distress signal. The electromagnetic gun aimed directly at the alpha in front of him, “Stand still, don’t move.”

Xie Shuci wiped the corner of his lips.

The hand that held Ming Huan did not let go.

The air was filled with the intoxicating omega fragrance, but it was actually mixed with the smell of another top alpha pheromone.

“Ming Huan.” Xie Shuci slightly raised the corner of his mouth, “I like you so much. How can you let another alpha mark you?”

The words sounded cold and crazy.

His pupils shrunk into vertical pupils, which meant that he couldn’t control his emotions at the moment.

The violent mental energy kept destroying all the facilities in the house, and the wind was whistling against the debris.

This situation was a familiar one that Ming Huan vaguely remembered. In his previous differentiation period, he had a bad stomach after eating which caused him to almost lose consciousness in the storm. This seemed to be the same situation.

“Shuci, you calm down a little. You relax, now your emotions are not right, and your mental energy is not controlled….”

“I’m too controlled.” Xie Shuci’s lips were curled, and he coldly dodged the strong pressure from Ensign Lin’s mental energy and the imprecise shot, “Ming Huan, if you do not like me, do not like anyone. Also, if you do not lie to me, many things simply would not have happened. You actually differentiated into an omega….That’s – unbelievable. But the smell on you, it’s terrible”

Xie Shuci’s body smelled strongly of cedar, a top-grade alpha pheromone.

He wanted to destroy that mark!

Ming Huan first brought his mental energy against Xie Shuci. because of this little resistance from him, the other party surprisingly became enraged and frantically began to tear at his collar. His sharp nails cut several scars on his neck, trying to make out the location of the exposed gland.

After seeing the situation, Officer Lin, who was enduring a headache, and Xie Shuci wrestled together. Out of the few shots that fired indiscriminately, it seemed to have actually hit once or twice, but it was not clear who was hit. The air was thick with the smell of blood.

Ming Huan tried his best to suppress Xie Shuci’s mental energy, but this kind of strange confrontation was greatly draining his mental energy.

Xie Shuci was covered with his blood.

‘No, it shouldn’t be like that.’

‘Shuci was not such a person.’

Countless images of their past relationships swept through his mind.

This person always sat quietly by the window with a pen in hand as he quietly revised the design, “Ming Huan, doing this, do you think it’s okay?”

Sometimes he would prepare some delicious food, presenting it to Ming Huan with pure and shy eyes. “Actually, I’m not good at cooking.”

Behind the school, there is a large area of flowers he planted and stray cats he feeds. He looks worried, saying, “It’s pitiful, I don’t know if they’ll freeze to death in winter.”

He, as Shuci, only had some emotional fluctuations during the growth and differentiation periods. However, step by step, he turned into this. Ming Huan heard Lin Shao urging him to run quickly. He knew that Lin Shao was worried he would be marked by Xie Shuci. If he did not fight off Xie Shuci’s mental energy, he suspected that this Shuci in front of him would just kill Officer Lin.

With a splitting headache, he could only barely strengthen his might. He knew that Yu Hanzhou would soon come to his rescue. After all, his mental energy was at a higher level. Xie Shuci covered his head and sat down on his knees. He began to continuously grind the ground with his hands, “Ming Huan! You are actually an omega! Haha! This is ridiculous! Ming Huan! I matched with you, I….”

Boom.

The glass window was broken in a flash, and Ming Huan’s pair of extremely beautiful dragon wings came out, separating him from the bloody mess of everything.

The familiar smell of pheromone wrapped around him, and a pair of strong hands swept his single body into an embrace.

“Don’t fight it, relax.”

It was Yu Hanzhou.

At the same time, he perceived a more powerful mental energy directly sweeping every corner of the room.

The smell of Yu Hanzhou’s pheromone wrapped around Ming Huan in an overwhelming manner.

From the excessive loss of mental energy, Ming Huan’s brain also began to buzz, “Xie Shuci had his differentiation probability, the Xie family…. The Xie family concealed his differentiation news….”

“Mn, I know.”

Yu Hanzhou’s tone was low, and he wrapped his arm around Ming Huan. He swept off a little blood which he blotted out of his body, and his eyes deepened. After putting the barrier patch on him, he picked him up directly in a horizontal manner.

“You are too tired, sleep for a while.”

Ming Huan reached out and grabbed Yu Hanzhou’s wrist.

“He’s hurt…. Don’t you hurt him….”

Yu Hanzhou glanced down, and Ming Huan couldn’t tell what kind of look that was.

His mental energy backfired, making his head ache violently as he lay in Yu Hanzhou’s arms.

He felt very relieved. When he woke up, he had already returned to the Admiral’s residence.

He had only slept a little.

Yu Hanzhou was still sitting at the window in order to give him medicine, and the room only had a small bedside lamp. His shirt was off, and his body had several scratches that were deeply oozing blood.

It was oddly painful.

Since he was awake, Yu Hanzhou’s hand with the medicine slightly paused.

“Awake?”

Ming Huan remembered what happened today, and his heart thumped. He covered his head that was throbbing, and associated the cause before he immediately said, “I know, Xie Shuci also happened to have differentiation probability, but his father had- -“

“He will get the mining rights of the mining star, so he covered the news of Xie Shuci’s differentiation.”

Yu Hanzhou held down Ming Huan’s shoulder and asked him to lie down properly.

The wounds on his chest and shoulder were already applied with medicine.

Since the marker was still there, Yu Hanzhou directly lifted Ming Huan’s barrier patch and checked the wound closest to the gland.

“It was not scratched by the nails.”

The Admiral’s tone seemed to be darker, and mixed with a thick, overwhelming dryness.

Ming Huan noticed that Yu Hanzhou’s gaze had become frighteningly dark. However, his actions and facial expressions remained quite normal. Yes, it’s not about nails. It’s about Xie Shuci’s teeth.

“Ming Huan, you were very close to being marked by another alpha.”

The phrasing sounded familiar.— How could you let another alpha mark you? Xie Shuci’s sinister words seemed to overlap with the current tone of Yu Hanzhou, making Ming Huan’s hair stand on end, “You…”

“Don’t.” Yu Hanzhou also seemed to notice the wrongness of his tone and showed an expression of extreme restraint. After a moment, he said, “I’ll medicate you.”

‘He is…. Is he angry?’

Ming Huan’s heart thudded, as he clearly felt the change in mood of the alpha near him.

“How is Xie Shuci? He seemed to be injured…. This time, it was too sudden….” Ming Huan grabbed Yu Hanzhou’s hand a little anxiously and explained eagerly, “But it’s really not his fault, it’s Xie Jue! The differentiation probability…. He’s not like that, I know him, he’s not like that – Yu Hanzhou….”

“Shut up.”

Ming Huan froze.

‘What kind of tone of voice for Yu Hanzhou was this?’

“Yu…. Hanzhou…?”

A little bit of ointment was on the alpha’s hand, and his cold fingertips rubbed it away on his neck. He did it from the outside in, getting closer and closer to the glands.

In the process of pressing and kneading, the nails seem to unconsciously scratch the delicate flesh around the gland.

Originally not that naive to pain, the omega’s eyes flushed a little red.

“Why didn’t you run?” The application of the medicine was still gentle, but Yu Hanzhou, focusing on that scar, seemed noticeably emotionally affected.

“I didn’t get through to you.”

“No matter what the situation, the first priority is to protect yourself, right?”

Why run indeed? “Xie Shuci’s mental energy is at SS level, mine is at SSS level. It’s not like I can’t suppress him for real. Lieutenant Lin is still there. If I run in that situation…”

Yu Hanzhou abruptly lifted his eyelids. “Are you still trying to argue with me?”

A heavy breath came, carrying a hint of cold severity, “I asked him to follow you. Do I want him to protect you, or do I want you to protect him?”

Oh, quite fierce. Ming Huan lowered his head, suddenly feeling a pressure above him. He wondered what was going on with Yu Hanzhou; how could he use mental energy to oppress him? Wasn’t the plan to bring him home as a wife? Does getting married mean starting a violent conquest route? Ming Huan’s expression darkened.

Yu Hanzhou did not seem to have noticed any difference in Ming Huan.

At this moment, his tone of voice was a little worse, “Do you not have a good memory, is once or twice not enough, do you have to take risks every time?” He also said, “Being lightly marked is not enough at all.”

His fingers crossed the wound, and he very gently rubbed and pressed on the gland, “It’s easily covered by a bite.”

Ming Huan was tingling from the pressure and felt something that was fire-like spreading from his neck. That rubbing and pressing was getting stronger and stronger, like a kind of teasing.

Little dragon’s body couldn’t help but twist in the quilt, provoking a darker look in Yu Hanzhou’s eyes. With hands kneading and pressing, he pressed closer and began kissing him, continuously enveloping Ming Huan in his pheromones, the scent so strong it was overwhelming. “That will be a deep mark.”

This commanding tone in the sentence structure puzzled Ming Huan. He rolled his eyes but was breathless from the kisses. He pushed and dodged, saying, “Yu Hanzhou, are you crazy?”

Wait, this wasn’t right. Even though Yu Hanzhou had used this kind of sentence structure before, he had never used such a cold and coercive tone. It was the genetic defect of an alpha.

So, Ming Huan decisively kicked Yu Hanzhou in the chest, sending him off the bed with a heavy thud. As Yu Hanzhou climbed up with his head in his hands, Ming Huan had already reattached the barrier, glancing at him with frustration. “If you can’t use medicine, don’t force yourself on me. Is your brain malfunctioning?”

After the pheromones were sealed off, Yu Hanzhou’s symptoms noticeably improved. Sitting on the edge of the bed, he held his head and regained composure. Only then did he look up and ask, “Did I just…?”

Ming Huan rolled his eyes, sitting on the bed, shooting him a disdainful glance. “You just said I have a bad memory.”

Yu Hanzhou, “…”

I knew it! What has happened to XS’s personality though? Before, when he was expected to be the Omega and MH the Alpha, he warned MH about YH and Alphas that fall in love with other Alphas. Yet that’s exactly what he became, before realising MH was an Omega. Has it driven him mad? Too sad, I so liked XS.
Now it’s caused even YH to lose control.
Poor MH is really in the thick of it.
Thank you both for the chapter.

I had a feeling that xie shuci could be an alpha because the author emphasizes his height compare to ming huan which is on taller side & also his obsession with ming huan before. Never thought he would try to mark him. Dont make him the antagonist, because in typical transmigration plot, when the characters switched, the others would be affected too.
