Chapter 64: Marriage

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Mimosa

Ming Huan was confused for a moment when the morning light pierced into his eyes – did he sleep without the curtains last night? When he opened his eyes again, he saw an unfamiliar flower panel.

‘Ah! I remember everything that happened last night!’ He sat up, and his hand subconsciously took care of his sore waist, “Oooh….” The bedroom was empty, ‘Where did that person go?’

Last night, Yu Hanzhou held his hand over his head and blocked the blinding bright light of the afternoon. ‘I think he’s definitely not clear-headed. How can I let Yu Hanzhou do that kind of thing?’

The right hand that was holding his waist slowly moved to the abdomen, and gently rubbed it twice. The face of the person who was nervously moving up and down turned gradually pale, and he had a knot in his throat, “!!!”

‘I can’t seem to remember. The most, deep mark, mark, mark….’ He felt the painful and itchy gland, and skeptically tilted his head a bit, ‘No, right?’

The pheromone within the sensation remained at the same level as before his sleep.

On the one hand, he was saddened that Yu Hanzhou was really able to achieve the so-called “incomplete” mark, but at the same time, he was greatly relieved.

Thank goodness. Thanks to Yu Hanzhou. I haven’t graduated yet!!!! What if, in case of a pregnancy….What…’ When he thought of this, he was instantly petrified and had to expel the strange images from his mind! ‘I’ve thought about it, cut!’ Ming Huan’s heart was in turmoil, and his hand pulled his hair as he grunted into the quilt, ‘Ah ah ah ah…. Why?! Would Yu Hanzhou?! Do this kind of thing, ah?!’

“What the…?” Ming Huan, who gradually woke up, fell into a more complicated distress, and his mood was now a thousand times more complicated than when he agreed to marry Yu Hanzhou. It was actually ten thousand times more complicated!

‘Yu Hanzhou! Yu Hanzhou! Yu Hanzhou!’ This name filled his head.

“I’m awake.”

A familiar voice came from the lips. Ming Huan, grabbing the blanket, was startled, “How come you walk without making any sound!”

Actually, there was some sound, but he was completely lost in thought, scratching his head and not hearing anything.

Yu Hanzhou didn’t care about the anxious tone. He stood just inside the doorway, listening to the movements inside, knowing that things were chaotic again. He didn’t mention anything from yesterday, just silently handed a cup of warm water to Ming Huan’s lips, “Drink water.”

After experiencing a busy and convoluted day like yesterday, Yu Hanzhou didn’t seem to have any signs of fatigue. If anything, he appeared even more refreshed, perhaps because yesterday’s marks had a certain soothing effect.

Ming Huan, on the other hand, was different. His throat was a bit hoarse, and his eyelids were a bit swollen. He seemed excessively weary.

Compared to various trivial matters, the only thing Yu Hanzhou cared about was Ming Huan’s health.

“I’ve chosen the wedding venue. It’s on Capital Star. After thinking about it, I believe you’ll like it here.”

“It’s a bit rushed, sorry.”

As the tall figure approached, even if there was gentleness, there was a faint sense of pressure. The slender fingers holding the water trembled slightly, “Yu Hanzhou, we… are we really going to get married?”

“What nonsense.”

Ming Huan lowered his head, his voice soft, “Yu Hanzhou, there’s a question I’ve been wanting to ask you for a long time.”

“Mn.”

The fingers held the quilt tightly, and his heart inexplicably also began to beat fast.

“It’s okay, whatever you ask, I’ll answer.” Yu Hanzhou sat beside him and gently kissed the corner of his lips, “There is no need for you to deliberate on my words.”

Ming Huan opened his mouth and swallowed his words again, “Will you not have any awkward feelings when you marry me?”

Yu Hanzhou’s eyebrows wrinkled slightly, and his fingertips grazed his jaw which he gently rubbed as he very frankly said, “Actually…. There is a little. I was really surprised when I first found out you were a match for me. You’re too young, it’s only been three years since you broke your shell.”

Ming Huan’s sudden move did not displease Yu Hanzhou. After the little dragon’s growth period, so many things happened since and he also slowly figured out his countless character traits.

He had a feisty tongue, but a soft heart.

When it came to small problems, it was easy for him to lose his temper, and his hatred could create an avalanche of snowflakes.

When it came to bigger problems, there was silence instead.

“I’m an adult.” He used his mouth to talk back to him, and the little dragon’s eyebrows raised, “You see you weren’t with me at all yesterday….”

The words came out too fast to make a sharp brake, and the little dragon’s face instantly changed colors, “Ah, ah, ah, I, again what”.

‘Yu Hanzhou never mentioned last night’s matter in order to be sagacious, how could you still initiate it?!’

Ming Huan suddenly moved away from his line of sight as he was so embarrassed to the point of his pores being unable to breathe, and his fingertips were very unnaturally curled up.

Yu Hanzhou also mildly coughed in the rare moment, and he continued to change the subject.

“Well, initially when I knew that you and I were matched, I also…. There was a bit of confusion, or, disbelief. You were too young, and your pre-match wasn’t me. Then again, I don’t think you’re attached to me. In fact, you just differentiated at that time, I did not perceive that you and I will be together for the rest of our lives. A lot of things seemed to be hidden in the subtleties. It’s hard to tell. Maybe I’m weird, maybe you’re weird. Maybe we are both strange.”

The extraordinarily calm words flowed like a babbling stream, moistening Ming Huan’s mood.

“When I consciously began to discern, I became convinced again beyond belief -“

“You.”

‘Dang.’

The mood that had gradually subsided seemed to have been violently hit by something again.

“You can see so much more than I thought.” Yu Hanzhou grabbed the curled thin white fingers, and stretched them out a little before he squeezed the tips, “I hope you grow a little slower, there are a lot of bad things in this world, little by little, when you’re ready, I’ll let you see them.”

“Yu….”

“I’ve been alive for over four hundred years. I sometimes wonder when and where my future husband will appear. What will they look like? What will their personality be like?”

Ming Huan listened, and his head suddenly hung lower and lower.

Surprisingly, there was a kind of inexplicable heartache about the little husband that Yu Hanzhou actually once looked forward to so much.

This wasn’t him.

The first thing he would have needed to do was to get a good idea of how disappointed he would have been when matched with him.

After realizing how much weight he had, Ming Huan suddenly felt a bit guilty.

“If so, I hope my dragon companion can come a little later, a little later.”

Ming Huan was surprised, “Why?”

‘Didn’t all dragons want their other half to come sooner so they could stay together longer?’

‘After all, it was the most important thing in a dragon’s life for them to be together, right?’

“Because if you are born now, the process of growing up, is too hard.”

Ming Huan’s heart became soft because of Yu Hanzhou’s words, and the tip of his nose was surprisingly inexplicably sour. He had all but forgotten how to curse and swear last night, and the feeling of embarrassment was gone.

He was holding Yu Hanzhou’s hand, “So, you didn’t grow up like this. The process of growing up was even harder for you.”

The corners of Yu Hanzhou’s mouth hooked thinly with a slight intention, and his eyebrows furrowed into his eyes.

This was a very handsome feature, and somewhat soft.

“Because of this, I have eaten the pain, and I hope you do not have to taste it again.”

The two met gazes. His cheeks… inexplicably started to flush again, “I didn’t expect this. Your arrival, on the contrary, helped solve the problem…”

Yu Hanzhou embraced Ming Huan and said, “Xiao Huan, the Technical Institute has promised to develop a new inhibitor within three months, with preliminary targeted research on breaking the gene lock. We aim to find a solution within a year.” He sighed in relief. “Get up. The Empire’s people have come to you twice. Why didn’t you let the Magistrate go?”

“Am I not enough for you?”

Little Dragon blinked his beautiful eyes and covered the flowing light. Mumbling as if reluctant to admit something. “We were wrong. A technology that could reduce the human population by 98% doesn’t need to be ignited a second time. No matter how long the wait, no matter how difficult the path…Yu Hanzhou, what you chose was right. We cannot indulge in the false brilliance of digging into the past. We must develop an entirely new technological force to slowly emerge from the ruins of a civilization a thousand years ago.”

Stubborn and free, with an independent judgment of the world. Not to be guided, nor influenced by others. Yu Hanzhou was often distressed by this stubbornness, but at the same time, he felt proud of it. This was his little dragon, and his little husband who he had been waiting four hundred years for. Ming Huan put the words out of his mouth before he realized what an unbelievable compliment it was.

He seemed to forget how viciously he spat on the Federation’s Admiral countless times over the past three years.

At the moment, it was surprising that the words were heartfelt admiration.

Yu Hanzhou must have died of complacency.

“Yu, Yu Hanzhou.”

“I have a question that I want to ask you.”

Ming Huan could see the ring on his finger as soon as he looked down.

This question hovered in his heart from the beginning till now.

‘Before, I thought that I wouldn’t fall in love with Yu Hanzhou, so I didn’t ask.’

Now, this question crossed his mind, making it increasingly impossible to ignore.

“If.”

“If, if.”

“The pheromone matches when you match with the person.”

The little dragon lowered his eyes, and the words were more and more steadily being squeezed roughly  out of his throat.

“You will also – like me like I do, or see it as treatment.”

The person in front of him was slightly stagnant, and this micro-movement similar to hesitation burned out the little dragon’s patience for a moment, “Yes, not yet.”

“You have, you will not lie to me.”

The little dragon, who always kept his head down, didn’t know why he was suddenly discouraged.

Under the excessive silence, he felt more and more aggrieved –

Perhaps, in Yu Hanzhou’s opinion, it was unreasonable to ask this question to himself. ‘Why ask such hypothetical questions when you are already matched?’

Yu Hanzhou is a pragmatic person, and he would definitely say, ‘No such ifs,’ and try to evade the conversation…

“No such ifs.”

Ha, as expected. Ming Huan gritted his teeth and raised his head, only to see Yu Hanzhou’s determined expression, showing no intention of avoiding or evading.

“You like me because of our pheromone compatibility. Yu Hanzhou, if you had matched with someone else at that time, would you have liked them instead?”

With a sudden pull, Ming Huan freed himself from Yu Hanzhou’s grasp, but accidentally caused some discomfort below, sending a shiver of pain.

Yu Hanzhou retracted his hand, reached out to support Little Dragon, and said, “Don’t move. We need to apply the medicine again. It might hurt a bit…”

“To hell with your pain!” Ming Huan blushed and interrupted the embarrassing words Yu Hanzhou was about to say. Ah, why did he let Yu Hanzhou do such things to him last night when he was under the influence of alcohol? Little Dragon seemed to be getting angry again, punching the blanket. Yu Hanzhou, you scoundrel! Go die!

“Ming Huan, I’m not entirely clear about the details of this matter. We have obtained the biological data from that technological star. Perhaps, soon, the Technical Institute can provide an explanation.”

To prevent further movement, Yu Hanzhou directly pulled Ming Huan into his embrace, knees apart, preventing too much pressure on the injured area.

This posture made Little Dragon look particularly small, curled up in the embrace, unable to move, and had to be obediently held. Although comfortable, it was irritating. “Let me go!”

“Have you ever thought that the order might be wrong?” Yu Hanzhou didn’t listen and held Ming Huan more securely. “It’s not because we matched that we became destined mates. And it’s precisely because of being destined mates that we differentiated into omegas and matched.”

Ming Huan stopped struggling and just looked displeased. “This is just your speculation, right? Making up nonsense to trick me into marriage.”

In response, he was met with a pair of eyes so tender they could almost drown someone.

“I want to get married. Whether you trick me or not, you have to marry me.” Despite the overly assertive words, the tone was exceptionally warm. Little Dragon was encircled in the embrace, silently shaking his head.

***

Yu Hanzhou married about a week after the big war with the Empire.

The wedding was held at Capital Star in February, when mountain cherry blossoms filled the glass walkway with white, pink, and red. Ming Huan didn’t think that there would be such a place on Capital Star, with a diffuse and complex cluster of flowers hovering over the blue sky.

The glass walkway went all the way down the intersection and extended to a faraway place.

At the top of the bridge, there was an open space covered with meadows.

There was a beautiful church on it – although it has been in interstellar times, influenced by ancient imperial theology, there were still many people who believed in the existence of God.

Yu Hanzhou didn’t believe in god.

When he saw such a crystal-clear glass church, he couldn’t help but be shocked by it.

Yu Hanzhou was wearing a clean white suit and standing under the church. The light blue ceremonial flowers swayed on the body. This small piece of the church from two hundred years ago was personally supervised by the famous architect in charge of the construction, and it looked exquisite and dignified. Although the glossy sense of the entire look was clear and natural, it also revealed the unclear solemnity, especially from Yu Hanzhou.

This was really serious.

After the last imperial war, he thought the wedding date at the end of the month could not be held as scheduled.

He didn’t expect Yu Hanzhou’s efficiency…. It was really extraordinary that this was even possible.

‘Ahhhhh.’

He was really going to get married, just three years after coming into this world.

Ming Huan was also wearing a white suit, and inexplicably felt a little nervous.

After the last kidnapping incident, Yu Hanzhou directly cut the number of actual wedding participants by three-quarters.

The wedding party was arranged at Federation’s 1st Military Academy for the purpose of the social announcement, and the wedding itself was kept simple.

Not many people could attend the actual wedding, and it was probably because of this that many of those present were instead familiar individuals of the senior division of Ming Huan’s school, as well as some high-level little dragons who usually met up with each other.

There were very few people from the Military Department.

The bouquet of flowers in his hand suddenly made his palms a little sweaty.

Shu Yun organized the hem of the tuxedo, and cut just the right snow-white suit that was very much in line with Ming Huan’s skin tone. On his chest, there were seven iris-colored flowers that were embellished, and what was the most bright was that beautiful face.

Yu Hanzhou knew that Ming Huan valued these human courtesies.

The little dragon walked through the long glass walkway.

Without looking too carefully, as if he was stepping on a cluster of mountain cherries, he headed towards the interior.

The wind was still a bit cold as the winter turned to spring.

Probably because of this, his cheeks were flushed.

The church was hollow and transparent, and the afternoon daylight was warmly scattered on his body. Yu Hanzhou’s high nose bones cast a very good-looking shadow, and his eternally cold eyes were full of warm and zealous light when the priest read the benediction.

Ming Huan, had a momentary lapse of concentration, and suddenly had a question he wanted to ask Yu Hanzhou.

He hated the feeling of uncertainty.

Yu Hanzhou looked at the quiet eyes, which seemed to contain an unclear temperature.

“The infinite unknown future.”

The only certainty of certainty.”

“You, are you willing?”

“I, am willing.”

The words came out unconsciously.

The flower girl brought the ring, and the priest seemed to stare at the ring hidden in the silver box. He was stunned for a moment, before dutifully asking Yu Hanzhou, “Will you take him as your only husband in this life, without sickness or death, without wealth or poverty, without leaving each other, until death do you part?”

“I do.”

The casual voice did not sound even half-false.

The ring box opened, and the hot bone ring was slowly pushed onto the teenager’s finger.

The meadow at the bottom had glittering balloons that rose and flowers that bloomed.

Ming Huan looked at the splendor, and his jaw was clasped by long, even fingers before being wrenched apart, and then slightly lifted.

A lingering kiss was imprinted on his lips.

The slightly warm touch, the familiar scent, and even the firm strength of the arm around the waist, all seem to be intoxicating. The little dragon slowly closed his eyes.

‘Ah – forget about it.’

‘People or dragons.’

‘Love or match or.’

‘Really don’t care.’

‘Anyway, Yu Hanzhou is good.’

The little dragon’s hand slightly raised, and he grabbed the ironed wrinkle-free suit on the other side. He seemed to subconsciously want to pull the other person closer. Yu Hanzhou’s eyes opened a little. Inside the flash of dark light, he hugged him tighter almost into his bosom.

“Yu Hanzhou. I followed the rules of the dragons, I married you.” Ming Huan wrapped around his neck, and said in his ear on tiptoe, “I don’t care if you want to marry me because of the match or not, or simply feeling responsible or not, whatever- Anyway, after the marriage, you can’t just back out.”

‘Ah….’

‘Why romantic and solemn words like this at this time?’

‘After all, the other party was a dragon. ah.’

Human marriage was romantic to the extreme, the most important vows in a lifetime.

If one doesn’t understand, one must emphasize it.

“I know.” Yu Hanzhou did not know where the inexplicable uneasiness came from, and his palm went to the other party’s back as support, “You do not know, the meaning of you for me. Xiao Huan. You don’t, kind of like me.”

Ming Huan buried his head into the neck and didn’t say anything.

After a while, he made a “hmm” sound.

The corner of Yu Hanzhou’s mouth hooked up with a little intention, and he leaned down to gently kiss the top of the head.

“You will also like me more.”

The ring at his finger was hot, and Ming Huan held back from nodding for a few.

“I love you.” Yu Hanzhou’s voice was very soft.

The little dragon buried his face at the heart of his snow-white clothes to cover his burning cheeks, but he could not cover the burning red ear tips, “Mn.”

No matter how light and strange this world was, no matter how unpredictable the future was, no matter how incomprehensible the encounter was, the words were from Yu Hanzhou so he’d believe them.

Even with the slight attendance of the banquet hall, the banquet was full of people, and there were no military academy students. Most of the contacts were political and business leaders, and the banquet had a very high degree of confidentiality. Before Ming Huan’s graduation, he did not intend to disclose Ming Huan’s detailed identity to the public.

The excessively attractive features of Admiral Yu caused a small commotion among the upper-class nobles. Among them were some business tycoons who had monopolized certain industries for centuries. Despite being of human origin, they often lived lavish lifestyles and were quite fond of these handsome young men.

An omega of such exceptional beauty. And it was his first time. They just didn’t expect Admiral Yu, who seemed reserved, to be associated with such a striking individual. Some silently admired, while others subtly mocked.

“Matched, right?” someone by the window whispered, “Just happened to match with a handsome one, must be quite lucky. Also, isn’t he studying at the Federation’s 1st Military Academy…”

“It depends on the department. Could it be the Home Economics or Illustration department?”

“The 1st Military Academy doesn’t offer pure omega disciplines. Judging by his appearance, it seems more like an arts department. Isn’t your nephew working at the 1st Military Academy? Why haven’t you inquired about it?”

“Sigh, it’s well-hidden. Can’t find out at all. My nephew isn’t in the higher echelons of the school. You know they all sign confidentiality agreements; they won’t disclose Admiral’s personal information before graduation.”

They could only look from afar.

Politely trailing behind Yu Hanzhou, the young man seemed like a well-behaved porcelain doll. Tall but too slender. Fair-skinned, exceptionally bright-eyed, with a captivating charm that carried a hint of aggression. Long eyelashes, resembling two raven feathers. After just a couple of sips of alcohol, a slight rosy hue appeared on his cheeks. A top-tier omega.

Under the influence of a slight buzz, his facial features were exceptionally captivating. Unfortunately, Yu Hanzhou only brought people out of the banquet hall for a while and arranged for them to rest in the VIP room upstairs.

The Admiral chilled for a while longer, and then instructed Lieutenant Zhou at his side to continue to maintain the banquet hall before he disappeared from the venue.

“The Admiral left so quickly for what?”

Lieutenant General Zhou looked at the small human officer next to him who had just been promoted and shook his head, “Never been married, right?”

The soles of the cold, hard military boots stepped on the high-class carpet, emitting a slight dull tone.

Although Ming Huan only followed and stayed in that meeting room for less than ten minutes, those people’s eyes were always glued to that omega little dragon.

He knew that this was normal, so a little bit of his anxiety inside was pressed down. He chilled for a while before he couldn’t help but sit in the high-speed rail elevator that directly went up. He had just stepped into the VIP room, and immediately kissed Ming Huan’s wine-soaked lips of sweetness.

“Do not drink.”

“Well, I’ve been handed one, if I don’t drink…,” The little dragon licked his lips insatiably, and his eyes had a sly expression, “then it would be impolite, right?”

Obviously he wanted to drink.

Yu Hanzhou picked him up, “I didn’t know when you became so polite.”

On the bedside was the latest special effects inhibitor that was researched by the Technical Institute. The effect on the mental energy backlash had been reduced to 7% of how it was originally.

With a perceived look, the hand with evenly jointed finger bones directly picked up an inhibitor.

“Didn’t you always want to know about how much of the information on that biotechnology star that the Technical Institute’s side would be able to research in the end?”

The problem of the genetic lock’s release was still being studied intensively. With the inhibitor, a breakthrough was made.

‘Ah, and today, we are married. Why talk about such a serious topic? Can you not tenderly kiss and hug me before going to bed early? Who knew that in the next moment, Yu Hanzhou would do things that scared away that bit of alcohol?’

“You used an inhibitor?!” Ming Huan panicked and tried to grab down when that needle had been completely pushed into Yu Hanzhou’s body.

“Afraid?” Yu Hanzhou’s fingers rubbed Ming Huan’s cheek, “With the special effects inhibitor, the effect of my mental energy backlash has been reduced by a lot.”

Ming Huan’s thumping heart calmed down a bit.

Although he knew that his special effects inhibitor had weakened in the beginning, he also did not need to directly give it to himself as proof at their wedding date.

‘Did this big dragon have a problem with his head?’ He almost scared him out of his wits.

Ming Huan muttered about how people were sick, and he just turned around to get ready to sleep before he was stopped.

Yu Hanzhou, with the strong smell of the inhibitor, could not suppress his cold snowy-mountain scented alpha pheromone.

This guy tore off the barrier patch!

He noticed that the hand also wanted to tear off his barrier sticker, and Ming Huan covered it with his hand, but he was not as fast as the action.

The top alpha pheromone and the top omega pheromone collided in the air.

He saw Yu Hanzhou’s eyes momentarily turn a deep dark. He leaned down and unbuttoned the buttons of the collar one by one.

“Do you not care that much about what’s going on at the Institute?”

“Guess how much percentage my special effects inhibitor weakened the mental energy backlash?”

‘How to guess this?’ Ming Huan, unusually flustered, stuttered, “Yu Hanzhou, are you out of your mind!”

He vaguely guessed what the other party intended to do. The previous three times, your mental energy state was not good, and we had to mark you. Yu Hanzhou, what you’re doing now is just looking for trouble. Aren’t you afraid things might get out of hand? This new inhibitor that has been developed, we don’t know how effective it is yet… Um… Wait, we are at the school now, and we need to go home later. Someone might come in…”

The VIP room’s security system clicked into the highest setting.

From the jaw down to the collarbone, in a muffled tone, “This is the wedding gift sent by the Vice Dean of the Technical Institute.”

“No need for that. It’s impolite.”

Little Dragon gritted his teeth, “When has my mom ever been polite!”

Glancing at the familiar syringe box with a red outer cover and the red ribbon outside, Ming Huan thought in a drunken haze, it really was a gift. Finally understood, it’s some kind of experimental sample. Daring to present this as a gift, a finished product! It must be an inhibitor with an extremely low impact on Yu Hanzhou’s mental energy!

So tonight, Yu Hanzhou felt confident and completely unafraid of a mental energy riot. Feeling sharp teeth gently brushing against his neck, Ming Huan blinked and shivered fiercely. The hand around his waist gradually tightened. After tenderly kissing, he gradually punctured the gland.

Nice wedding gift 😉
A lot of tge intimate stuff MH just seems to get carried along with. I hope before the novel ends, he will feel deep love for YH, lose his doubts and instigate the passion himself.
Sometimes I get confused about who is saying what, when reading.
Thank you both for the chapter.
