Chapter 67: Extra: Game (Part 2)

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

In order to stop being pinned down in bed and live through the exact same experience as the last susceptible period, Ming Huan chose to divert his attention by playing the game he recommended for the elderly with Yu Hanzhou.

He thought it was going to be a two-player cooperative game, but it wasn’t that.

This time, it was Ming Huan who entered Yu Hanzhou’s memory-simulated world.

The water did not rise, and there was a glimpse of a large, calm wetland plus a lake under a high concrete dam.

The air was filled with the smell of moss and fish mixed with freshwater lakes, not unpleasant, but not really comfortable either.

The sky was still blue, and not far from the meadow, there were small mergansers in a low river. Frogs jumped from the shore into the shallow water, splashing a ripple.

It was a rare pristine planet.

Ming Huan slowly opened his eyes.

This is…. The world of 400 years ago.

There seemed to be something entangled in the waterfront fishing net, floating up and down, and suddenly rolled down into the water.

‘Hey, it seemed to be an egg.’

Ming Huan took two or three steps over to the water, and he managed to pick up the egg with most of his arms under the water.

It was a very inconspicuous palm-sized egg that was snow-white with flecks of dark gray spots on its body. Looking at it carefully over, the gray part faintly shone like fine light.

Its size was a little larger than a goose egg, and it was cold from being in the water for a long time, which made him feel like there isn’t any life inside.

his dragon intuition told him otherwise.

Ming Huan carefully put the egg into his pocket.

The warmth of his body soon passed through the thin shell of the egg, and Ming Huan just walked out of the dam and stood on the grass where the little deer was drinking.

A click was heard.

The egg cracked.

When he took it out, a huge crack scattered the shell before a small wing that was not yet feathered popped out followed by a horn and then followed by the horns topped with the largest piece. It peeked out, and four eyes faced each other.

“!!!!”

“!!!!”

‘Oh my God, the white feathered dragon!’

Ming Huan suddenly realized, ‘this can’t be Yu Hanzhou, right?’

He actually went back to the time when Yu Hanzhou had broke his shell!

With a shiver in his hand, he almost threw the little dragon to the ground.

The dragon fluttered its wings and slowly flew up from his palm. The deer beside him suddenly ran away, splashing him with mud and water. Ming Huan thought that he was afraid of the “little Yu Hanzhou” in his hand, until he heard the sound of a dead branch being broken behind him.

When he turned around, he saw a big wild tiger pouncing on him with its paws.

‘So big, so big!’

The wings that fluttered in his palm were still barely balanced as was the case for small white feathered evil dragon cubs. The dragon created a fan with his wings, and the wind caused the branch to break. The tiger seemed to feel something and leapt back into the forest.

Ah, the dragon!

A small dragon fell back into the palm of Ming Huan with its chin slightly raised, and the dark eyes seemed to be measuring the person in front of him.

“Yu, Yu Hanzhou?”

Ming Huan subconsciously shouted.

The young dragon blinked his eyes coldly, seemingly not reacting to the three words he said.

‘But I don’t know why.’

Ming Huan felt that this must be Yu Hanzhou.

Ming Huan reached out and poked his horns, and the little dragon in his hand seemed to flip on some switch as it flew off into the sky.

‘Hey, I still can not touch him.’

‘How many times did I let you touch me as a child, petty.’

The game turned on the time magic.

Ming Huan saw Yu Hanzhou again when he had taken human form. He helped the old couple upstream of the dike take care of the fishery.

He had on tattered cotton and linen pants pulled up to the knees, wearing the old fisherman’s overly broad beige top, and a straw hat.

If not for the fair skin of the teenager and the pupils in the luster of cold as well as the way he was standing on the river bank sweeping over his eyes, Ming Huan almost did not recognize him.

He helped the old fisherman collect the net, and the movement was skilled.

Ming Huan wanted to see more clearly, and he took a step out then half a step.

The growth period of Yu Hanzhou didn’t involve his short height around 14 or 15 years old, and he already had an adult height around this time.

The eye contour is very deep, the bridge of the nose is extremely high, and he looked around seventeen or eighteen years old.

Suddenly, the teenager’s eyelids lifted and saw him peeking from behind a tree trunk hiding on the river bank.

Then, the elegant brows of Yu Hanzhou slightly furrowed. Ming Huan noticed him walking towards this direction, stomped his feet, turned in a circle on the spot, and faced the long-legged figure that had cleared through the bushes. “You are the one from that day…”

Ah, the voice of a young boy.

Ming Huan inexplicably pursed his lips and smiled. Yu Hanzhou’s youthful voice was so pleasant, and, wow, his legs were long even from a young age. His wrist was caught, Ming Huan lifted his head, locking eyes with the black eyes of the young version of Yu Hanzhou, “You’re not human.”

Who are you scolding! You’re the one who’s not human! Ming Huan quickly broke free. He remembered how he had been sore and unable to get up in the real world before entering the game due to Yu Hanzhou’s actions. Seeing the young and tender face in front of him ignited a bit of anger.

“You have already differentiated.” Young Yu Hanzhou had a thoughtful expression, as if contemplating something. “How did you manage to differentiate smoothly?”

It seemed like he had already witnessed death during the omega differentiation period.

“Answer me.”

How did I manage… I’m not even sure myself. You’re not the one who raised me.

Ming Huan: “Just, this and that, and then, I differentiated.”

Young Yu Hanzhou: “…”

He had become an adult, so why is he still being overpowered by a small young dragon? He was not convinced.

“What’s the matter, kid, do you know how to be polite?”

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and Ming Huan suddenly found this game a bit interesting. He raised his chin, “Call me a brother, I will teach you how to spend the differentiation period, ah.”

Little Yu Hanzhou’s eyebrow scrunched tightly.

His light-colored lips slightly flattened, and he seemed to be a little unhappy.

“This matter is very important, another young dragon has recently broken its shell, cumulatively, it is the third one. We seem to have a lot of dragons on this planet, but, so far, I have not seen one that has managed to survive to adulthood. They always die inexplicably, one to three years after birth.”

‘Why, isn’t that a riot of mental energy during the differentiation period?’

“If you know what to do about it, please let me know.”

‘How old-fashioned.’

The four-and-a-half-year-old dragon is being lectured by a year-and-a-half-old dragon, and his mood became more upset.

“Are you hungry? I’ll take you to eat something.” After that he didn’t say anything, he sighed and took Ming Huan to the hut to give him a bowl of porridge.

He set it on the fire with a wire hanging from a clay pot.

Three-eyed fish meat slices and cheap green leaves cooked out of the porridge.

The taste is not bad, but Ming Huan was born in this world after food and clothing became expensive, and this was the first time he had to drink this kind of porridge full of firewood gas.

Ming Huan lowered his head and took a small sip.

It tasted awful.

He asked some more questions, and Ming Huan tried to answer them all in a way he could understand.

Yu Hanzhou held a spatula in his hand and kept stirring the congee in the pot, “You’re an omega, right?”

“….”

“Your pheromone, it smells good.”

Being suddenly complimented like this, Ming Huan almost failed to hold the porridge in his hand.

His face suddenly flushed red.

“You can smell my pheromones?!” Ming Huan quickly reacted. ‘Yu Hanzhou is still in the growth stage and could smell the opposite sex pheromone which means that he had serious differentiation syndrome, ah!’

Now this era does not have the medical knowledge of four hundred years later.

Ming Huan didn’t even know how to explain the differentiation phase syndrome to him.

Nor was there a blocking patch that would keep him from smelling his pheromones.

“Do you ever feel manic and uncomfortable, Yu Hanzhou…?”

“A little.” He said faintly, “It’s okay. It’s sweet.”

Ming Huan fondled the bowl of porridge, “No, it’s salty.”

“I mean, your pheromones, they’re sweet.”

How is it that Yu Hanzhou keeps mentioning the pheromone thing? Obviously just now he kept asking about improving the survival rate of differentiation, and now the atmosphere is a bit strange.

This little Yu Hanzhou also doesn’t know about his match with him.

‘This is not considered sexual. The actual harassment, ah.’

“Very sweet, and a little bitter. A very special taste.”

The pheromone taste of the original owner is black opium, so the original persona is “deadly sweet”. It smells sweet, but it will kill the other person at any time.

But Ming Huan’s pheromones in his previous life were white tea flavored, the “bitterness” was from Yu Hanzhou’s mouth.

After he crossed over, his pheromone smell changed completely.

It became a mixed smell.

Thinking about it, in reality after his differentiation, Yu Hanzhou never commented on his pheromone taste.

He was actually titillated by this little evil dragon’s careless remark, and his ears were inexplicably flushed red.

“..,. Is that so.” Ming Huan strategically held the bowl and took another large sip.

Little Yu Hanzhou, apparently not yet aware of his blush, looked down and adjusted the wood fuel for the fire as he continued with a declarative affirmation in a thin tone, “Yes. And, you’re good looking too.”

Ming Huan’s face bloomed red.

Yu Hanzhou had never commented on his looks before either.

It turned out that his appearance was not bad enough to meet Yu Hanzhou’s critical eyes.

He was still holding the bowl of porridge to warm his hands, the little Yu Hanzhou opposite him had already drunk three big bowls: “The weather is cold, you sit here for a while. I’ll go and collect the sun-dried fish and come back.”

In an unfamiliar environment, Ming Huan is still a little uncomfortable to stay alone. Even if the person accompanying him is the small Yu Hanzhou, this will add a lot of security to him.

He subconsciously said, “Then you hurry up.”

Little Yu Hanzhou lifted the cloth curtain and his hand seemed to pause. His voice was softer “Okay.”

“Wait for me.”

Ming Huan took another tentative sip of the porridge in his hand.

It seems to be not that hard to drink.

After all, it is Yu Hanzhou’s hand-cooked porridge.

Ming Huan drank two more mouthfuls. Since the wind was always cold and wet by the water, Ming Huan unconsciously finished a bowl.

‘Forget it.’

Yu Hanzhou was still in the cub stage after all, and it’s in poor taste to let him collect dried fish in the cold, so he decided to help him out

Ming Huan lifted the curtain to chase after him, and the original day suddenly became night.

A look back at the cabin also disappeared.

This was the magic again.

This time, a turn of the eye is actually fifty years.

It had fast-forwarded to another war between the Empire and the Federation. Here in the war ripple zone, the wind is already full of the smell of smoke. He saw several flying machines crash directly, followed by a leaping blaster fighter that crashed directly into the center of the lake.

A teenager on the lake shore was about to leap into the water when he abruptly saw Ming Huan standing in a daze not far away. He seemed to want to come over and say a few words. The smell of pheromones in the wind instantly overturned his sanity, and he seemed surprised at his momentary loss of control. He raised his legs and took several steps back in a row.

With a thud, he plunged into the bottom of the lake and drove the one sunken blaster-type fighter out. The warplane came to a steady stop in front of him and Ming Huan.

Ming Huan couldn’t see him, but he hacked into the warplane’s communication device: “Yu Hanzhou.”

“Didn’t I tell you to wait for me at that time?” Yu Hanzhou asked.

‘Ah.’ Although it was just a cloud of data, for Yu Hanzhou, it seemed like fifty years had indeed passed. Now Yu Hanzhou is fully differentiated and his voice is exactly the same as in reality. The slight questioning tone is all very similar.

Ming Huan didn’t know how to explain, “I’m sorry.” He asked another question, “Where are you going…?”

Yu Hanzhou once told him the story of his early childhood. After experiencing the death of three close friends who had broken their shells together as children, and after witnessing the only surviving alpha being captured as an adult, Yu Hanzhou chose to walk out of this tiny fishing star. He flew this blast type leapfrog fighter to explore the larger world outside. To seek, he wanted to be real and free.

“I’m going to the war, I’m going to hold the Federation.” Yu Hanzhou said, “You stay on this planet and wait for me to come back.”

“Then I’ll come with you….”

“You can’t stay with me.” Yu Hanzhou’s voice was thin and incredibly sensible, “I can feel that you are very important to me. as soon as I get close to you, I want to mark you. I’ve seen how an omega was tagged, and in less than thirty minutes, he was dead. I can’t mark you, but I can’t control myself either. So, you can’t come with me.”

Although there were still many things he did not understand, Yu Hanzhou, with the judgment of reason, moved away from the small dragon and jumped into the lake in the nick of time just now. And now. He was also trying to quell his mental energy riot.

“You wait for me here. If one day, I come back to you, it means…. I have quelled this war and am capable of protecting you. Until then, you will wait here for me.”

“OK.”

This was Yu Hanzhou from four hundred years ago. The tone of voice when speaking was not so harsh, and there was nothing raw and commanding about it. It was just stating a rational judgment with a gentle tone. The fiery-red war machine was very, very close to him, and was only an arm’s length away. Due to it being the closed-type, the pheromones of the two were separated. This allowed them the rare privilege of being so close.

“Good.” The teenage figure was on the green shore where the blazing fire was burning. A tiny one in front of the huge leaping fighter, looking slim and fragile.

“I wonder why.” Yu Hanzhou had been about to cut off the communication, but still left the last sentence, “The first time I saw you, I felt that I would split into alpha.”

Ming Huan: “What….”

The fire was about to burn to the teenager’s feet, but he didn’t move an inch.

“And then, I really was an alpha.”

Since the bottom of the fighter extended the electromagnetic cannon gun, the cannon gun moved forward a little until it touched the corner of the teenager’s forehead.

From a distance, it looked like a large mech extended an arm, and very gently rested on top of his head. Ming Hua actually rarely lowered his head,  but very meekly rubbed against the cold machine.

‘You will quell the war.’

‘You will become an admiral of the Federation.’

‘You will save many, many, many young dragons and humans in the future.’

The teenager raised his hand and touched the muzzle of the electromagnetic cannon, which he had obviously seen only a short time ago. this actually gave birth to the sense of  sadness from true separation.

“Yu Hanzhou. Go. Four hundred years later, we will really meet.”

***

Ming Huan sobered up from the game, and he didn’t know why his eyes suddenly got red.

So, that was Yu Hanzhou when he was a child.

That sense of reality was too strong, and it was so strong that he seemed to really feel the inexplicable determination of Yu Hanzhou as he went through all those things alone. He was alone, and persistently moving forward these four hundred years.

‘What’s even stranger.’

‘The little Yu Hanzhou in that game was too real.’

He was afraid that he would really wait four hundred years.

He was more afraid that he was just a ball of data, waiting for four hundred years, but also could not wait for him.

As he cried, he heard Yu Hanzhou, who also followed him. He came to his senses and said, “That last sentence of yours directly awakened my consciousness.”

“…. Huh?”

Ming Huan still did not react.

This is not a single player game.

“That little Yu Hanzhou, is that you….” Ming Huan then reacted.

“Well, this two-player game is when one party enters the game, the mental body memory will manually intercept and extract a part of the early years, directly restore it into a character, and then accompany the other party into the virtual world built according to the former’s mental memory.” Yu Hanzhou now also recalls the sinking feeling of separation, as well as Ming Huan’s last sentence of four hundred years, so that he directly sensed that something was wrong and his consciousness awakened.

Ming Huan: “….” ‘Wipe your eyes, you give me back my tears!’

‘I thought that it was just a cloud of intelligent data created by virtual characters that would disappear when the game ended.’

Once the sentimental mood dissipated, the soreness in the body became obvious.

Ming Huan sucked in his nose bitterly, ‘this deceitful body and heart of the white feathered evil dragon!’

“Are you hungry, I’ll go cook you fish soup.”

The little dragon’s nose was red from crying, and Yu Hanzhou reached out and wiped his cheeks, “Don’t cry.”

“Your face is all cried out.”

The familiar sense of gentleness and accommodation returned.

Ming Huan found that the pheromone concentration in Yu Hanzhou’s body had returned to its usual level.

Suddenly, he realized something.

“Yo, the susceptible period has passed, right?”

Ming Huan teased, “Fish soup, is this something that a bowl of fish soup can solve?!” Out of anger, he slammed his hand like a hammer into the bed board which shook his body askew. Fortunately, Yu Hanzhou reached out to hold it.

“Hiss.”

“Don’t move around yet, I’ll get the medicine.”

Yu Hanzhou looked at his body spotted with marks that also offered justification.

Every time the susceptible period happens, he would always unconsciously do it very over the top.

‘I’m not sure how hard it will be to coax the little omega out of him.’  Yu Hanzhou is already prepared for this, so he picked Ming Huan up from the blanket and rubbed the ointment away with his warm palm, gently dabbing it on his bruises.

The other hand rubbing over his belly felt very pleasing.

Ming Huan’s anger was temporarily suppressed somewhat.

“I’ll take you to buy ice cream later, it’s a new flavor.” Yu Hanzhou kissed the corner of his mouth, “Let’s drink fish soup tonight, okay.”

“Then I’ll fry you two sweet and sour beef balls.”

“And half a plate of honeydew melon, fresh, just bought in the morning.”

Ming Huan’s stomach was rubbed and he grunted, “Don’t wait for the night, slice the melon now.”

The alpha imprinted a kiss on his omega’s brow, “Okay.”

He had never met Ming Huan for four hundred years.

It was probably hard for him to imagine that four hundred years later, he would be so happy.
