SUMMARY:

Ji Jin, an Omega, joined the professional team IKW at the age of seventeen, known as a gaming genius, with three titles in three years, only to retire and go abroad at the age of twenty.

Three years later, Ji Jin suddenly returned to join his new team, MOE, followed by a white and tender toddler.

Just when everyone was guessing who this child really was –

In the first game of the fall tournament,  Ji Jin’s nemesis legendary, Lu Yao, the current captain of IKW, blocked Ji Jin into a corner backstage of the tournament.

The smell of an Alpha pheromone he was most familiar with filled the air, forcing Ji Jin’s eyes to redden slightly.

Yet Lu Yao bent slightly close to Ji Jin’s ear and asked through clenched teeth –

“Which wild man does the child really belong to?”

Mini-theater.

Ji Jin and Lu Yao are a well-known rivalry.

But recently, some eagle-eyed fans found out that Lu Yao went to watch Ji Jin’s match at the first game of this year’s autumn tournament.

Fans: No, no, no! Yao Yao must be scouting the enemy!

In the middle of his match, Lu Yao was using the champion keyboard with Ji Jin’s name on it.

Fans: It must be Blackie P’s!

Meanwhile, Ji Jin was madly mocked by Lu Yao’s fans on Weibo for losing the match.

Who knows the first microblogging reserve blowing @Ji Jin pressed the head amenity squad accidentally dropped the horse –

He was under the skin of Lu Yao.

His last tweet just happened to be: Look at this Ji God, he is white and tender, it’s not a loss to get into the stock! Everyone listen to me, powder him!

Chapter 1: Return

By six in the evening, the old neighborhood had already taken on the hues of dusk. It was summertime, and the sky outside hadn’t yet gone dark. The blue horizon had been tinged with a touch of peachy orange. Thick, layered clouds rolled in like waves of fire across the sky.

Inside a small, run-down rental room, it was unnaturally quiet—likely because most residents were still at work at that hour. This building was home to people barely scraping by. It wouldn’t be noisy until after ten, when the clamor would become almost unbearable.

Ji Xingxing was lying on the bed, asleep. The room was stuffy and humid, and he was clearly not sleeping well. Ji Jin had to use his pheromones to soothe the little baby Omega, helping Ji Xingxing feel even slightly comfortable.

Besides the bed, the room was almost entirely bare. There was only an old desk with a brand-new laptop sitting awkwardly on top—it looked completely out of place.

The floor was relatively clean, though a few grimy cardboard boxes sat in the corners. A small table held a half-finished cross-stitch project.

The most eye-catching thing was the small refrigerator next to the bed, packed with Omega suppressants. A few empty packaging boxes were stacked outside the fridge.

Feeling stifled, Ji Jin opened the room’s only window. A fresh breeze drifted in, making him feel a little better.

Just then, his phone lit up. He glanced at it, confirmed that Ji Xingxing was still sound asleep, grabbed the keys, and went downstairs to meet someone.

After passing through a narrow alleyway, he emerged onto a lively street. Directly across the alley stood a large internet cafĂŠ, a massive IKW team poster hanging outside. The big screen next to it was playing a promotional video for the game Legend Reappearance.

The video covered nearly half the building’s wall. It had just reached the part showing the IKW team lifting the championship trophy—with Lu Yao front and center.

Legend Reappearance was the hottest original MOBA game at the time, a true national sensation. Lu Yao was the captain of the IKW pro team and the brightest star in the game’s e-sports scene. Even people outside the gaming world had at least heard of him.

He was strikingly handsome, with sharp, refined features—just one glance and countless Omegas had fallen for him.

Ji Jin’s eyes lingered briefly on Lu Yao’s face before looking away.

Back in the day, he’d slept with Alphas like that too.

But he quickly returned to his usual calm. He spotted the person he was meeting and waved. The man in a suit across the street noticed and jogged over.

“Hello, God Ji.” Zhao Ze was sweating from the short run. Fortunately, as a Beta, he didn’t emit strong pheromones after exercise.

Ji Jin nodded, and the two of them went into a quiet cafĂŠ.

It was a slow time for business. The waiter greeted them warmly, but neither had much interest in coffee—they ordered the most basic drinks.

“We’ve already discussed things before. Here’s the finalized contract,” Zhao Ze said as he pulled two paper copies from his briefcase and laid them on the table. “The salary and expectations are clearly outlined. MOE is a small team with limited sponsorships—this is the best offer we can make right now.”

His tone was cautious, almost hesitant. Even his hand trembled slightly as he placed the documents down. A player of God Ji’s caliber didn’t belong in a small-time team like MOE. Zhao Ze had no idea why Ji Jin would choose them.

After all, God Ji had a legendary career.

He’d started competing at sixteen, joined IKW at seventeen, and quickly became captain, leading them to a national championship. For three consecutive years, he held the title—no other team ever claimed it while he played.

With his skill, he could have joined any top-tier team, if not a championship favorite, then at least a strong contender.

So why choose an obscure team like MOE?

The only explanation Zhao Ze could think of was Ji Jin’s retirement three years ago.

Back then, Ji Jin had been at the peak of his career—easily on par with the current IKW captain, Lu Yao. But at the height of his success, rumors spread that Ji Jin and Lu Yao had fallen out. Ji Jin suddenly retired, without explanation, and vanished overseas.

IKW went through a massive restructuring. Lu Yao, despite opposition, became the new captain. The team went quiet for a while, but eventually Lu Yao proved himself by leading IKW to another national championship just recently.

When Ji Jin first retired, rumors flew. Some said he went to study abroad in the UK. Others claimed he joined a foreign team. One of the more absurd theories was that God Ji found an Omega girlfriend and went off to have a baby.

The most reasonable guess was that he’d injured his hand and gone abroad for treatment.

But no one ever really knew. Over time, people stopped asking. Zhao Ze himself leaned toward the injury theory. After all, Ji Jin’s flawless performance during the interview couldn’t have come from someone still injured.

Ji Jin skimmed the contract without much interest. He’d already read the digital version and had no objections—but there was still something he needed to clarify.

“The terms are fine,” Ji Jin said quietly. “But I do have a few personal conditions.”

Zhao Ze immediately tensed. Of course a top player like God Ji would have extra demands. The team manager had already warned him: as long as the requests were reasonable, he should agree.

“I want my own room,” Ji Jin said casually, patting Zhao Ze on the shoulder. “Don’t stress. It’s nothing unreasonable.”

“Of course! That’s fine,” Zhao Ze sighed in relief. He’d feared something outrageous, but a private room was manageable.

“There’s one more thing… not exactly a condition. Just a heads-up,” Ji Jin said, studying Zhao Ze as if gauging how well he could handle a shock. Then he pinched his fingers close together and said, “I’m actually an Omega.”

Zhao Ze let out an instinctive, stunned “Ah?”

Without giving him time to process, Ji Jin continued, “And I brought a child with me.”

Zhao Ze: ???!!!

So all those theories people had tossed around—none of them were right, except the most ridiculous one?

Wait… not even that one got it completely right. No one guessed that God Ji was actually an Omega?!

Zhao Ze looked like he’d been struck by lightning.

Three years ago, this man had been the gaming world’s biggest nightmare.

Ji Jin wasn’t just a genius player—his trash talk was legendary. To this day, his classic one-liners were still quoted in Legend Reappearance forums:

“So tough of you, traveling all this way just to take home second place.”

“Keep it up—maybe you’ll manage to defend your runner-up title.”

Or even—

“I didn’t plan on winning the championship this year, but… not winning it felt like a waste. After all, it was a championship, and I just happened to win it along the way…”

“Sorry, I originally wanted to play a few more rounds, but the opponents didn’t give me the chance, so I just won.”

Along with that mocking expression, he made the entire esports scene want to punch him. Even though he was a beauty—someone who could make anyone’s heart flutter—once he opened his mouth, people couldn’t help but want to hit him.

And to say someone like that was an Omega? No one would have believed it even if he exposed it himself. Someone like Ji Jin—how could he possibly be the delicate, soft Omega who lost control during heat and only wanted to be rutted into their reproductive cavity by an Alpha?

As if things weren’t already shocking enough, Ji Jin reached out his right hand and revealed the white wrist adorned with an Omega-specific suppressant bracelet.

His hand was pale and delicate—his most valuable asset as an esports player. Around his slender wrist hung a thin black bracelet, marked clearly with the Omega symbol.

Zhao Ze double-checked again and again—this person in front of him really was an Omega.

A sheen of sweat appeared on his forehead.

“I am an Omega, but I can guarantee I won’t be affected by any other Alpha’s pheromones,” Ji Jin said, touching the suppressant bracelet on his wrist. “Back when I was playing for IKW, it was the same. So all you need to ask your higher-ups is…”

“Are you willing to accept an Omega player?”

Zhao Ze froze for a moment. He had never seen such a frank Omega before. These days, everyone publicly claimed equality, that there were no career differences between Alphas and Omegas. But because of the Omega’s physical condition, many professions still refused to hire them.

Especially in esports—training ran for over ten hours a day, days and nights reversed, and the competition intensity was so high that even some Alphas couldn’t endure it, let alone a supposedly frail Omega.

Zhao Ze nodded and walked to the corner to make a call. It wasn’t a short call, but Ji Jin only became more at ease as time passed.

About ten minutes later, Zhao Ze returned to his seat across from Ji Jin.

“Let’s sign the contract, God Ji,” Zhao Ze said, trying to look as calm as possible.

Ji Jin took the contract and signed his name while listening to Zhao Ze explain the next steps. Since the contract had just been signed, a lot still needed to be prepared. Once things were ready, Ji Jin could join training camp.

After that, Ji Jin didn’t stay to chat and left the café. His son, Ji Xingxing, was still asleep at home. The little two-and-a-half-year-old was alone, and Ji Jin didn’t feel at ease leaving him for too long.

It was rush hour, and the streets were getting congested. Ji Jin stood under the dim streetlight waiting for the green light, checking his phone and calculating how long he’d been away.

He wondered if his little one at home had woken up.

At that moment, IKW’s current team manager, Ke Yu, happened to see Ji Jin standing on the sidewalk, waiting for the light.

Ke Yu, sitting in his car, froze. He wanted to get out and run over, but the light turned green and Ji Jin had already crossed the street and entered a small alley.

Ke Yu immediately pulled out his phone and dialed a number. On the screen, the name displayed was—

Lu Yao.
