Chapter 20: Affair

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Karai

“Put me down!” Ji Jin had no choice but to hold Lu Yao, but this posture was too ambiguous and exciting, making his heart, which had just calmed down, beat wildly again.

“I promised to carry my brother back, of course, I have to carry you back—I can’t break my word.” The last four words sounded like a reminder to Ji Jin, with a heavier tone and a more serious look in Lu Yao’s eyes. Lu Yao carried Ji Jin and opened the door, cautiously glancing around to confirm no one was in the hallway, then hurriedly carried him to Ji Jin’s room door.

He pressed Ji Jin against the door and whispered in his ear, “Brother, hurry and open the door, be careful not to be seen.”

Ji Jin quickly freed one hand to find his room card, cursing silently in his heart. This brat only now was afraid of being seen? What took him so long? It felt like they were having an affair.

Lu Yao seemed like a worm inside Ji Jin’s stomach, just from seeing Ji Jin’s expression, he roughly guessed what he was thinking.

“I’m not afraid of being seen; it’s you who’s afraid,” Lu Yao snatched the room card from Ji Jin’s hand and quickly swiped it on the door lock. With a beep, Lu Yao hurriedly carried him inside and swiftly kissed Ji Jin’s mouth corner. “This is the real… affair.”

When he said this, Lu Yao’s eyes were pitch black, impossible to tell what emotion was behind them.

Although Ji Jin now agreed to accompany him through his vulnerable period, Lu Yao still cared about the three years Ji Jin spent abroad. And he wondered who exactly Ji Xingxing’s father was, why Ji Xingxing’s surname was Ji, why Ji Jin retired and then suddenly reappeared.

These were questions buried deep in his heart, but he never dared to ask aloud.

He feared asking would hurt Ji Jin’s heart, and feared asking would hurt his own. Ji Jin was willing to open his body for that person, give everything, get pregnant, and have a child—that had to mean he loved that person deeply enough to sacrifice so much.

If he ignored all those questions, as long as Ji Jin stayed by his side now, he would be content.

— As long as Ji Jin was with him, that was enough.

Ji Jin was momentarily caught off guard, surprised by the person in front of him. When he instinctively tried to push Lu Yao away, the latter had already wisely stepped back.

“Good night, brother.” Lu Yao blinked innocently and quickly backed up to block the doorway. He was born with an innocent face, a naturally gifted little white flower act, almost fooling Ji Jin.

But Ji Jin knew Lu Yao’s true nature well, understanding that this innocent look was all an act, yet he could do nothing but yield and say good night.

After Lu Yao left, Ji Jin took a shower. The scent of pheromones on him finally faded a bit. When he went to bed, Ji Xingxing was sound asleep, his delicate little features faintly resembling Lu Yao’s outline.

Ji Xingxing probably sensed Ji Jin beside him and subconsciously snuggled close, determined to curl into Ji Jin’s arms.

“You little thing, even sleeping you’re restless.” Ji Jin hugged Ji Xingxing close and gently pinched his little nose, successfully coaxing two “wails” from him.

Holding his soft, squishy son in his arms, Ji Jin felt like this was the best treasure heaven had given him.

The All-Star Game ended, and the next day the entire MOE team flew back to City B.

After returning, Zhao Ze arranged everything and announced the official start of the summer break. The length of the break wasn’t fixed; halfway through, the winter season would start. The league would announce the match schedule early, and teams would submit their roster for participation. Teams would notify players to return for training as soon as possible.

Summer break was a rare holiday for pro players; most chose to go home or travel. Ji Jin, carrying his little burden Ji Xingxing, couldn’t really travel, so most of the time he took Ji Xingxing to nearby places or squeezed in some gaming time.

Once the break started, the team’s training room was locked. Ji Jin’s hands itched for a few days before he took out his computer to play some games.

But when he turned on the computer, he noticed the password input screen looked different from before. Ji Jin never set a startup screen, thinking the computer randomly changed it. He swiftly typed the password—

The computer booted, but the desktop wallpaper was completely different.

His computer had its own wallpaper, but the one in front of him showed the official wallpaper of Legend Reappearance, with the hero Bai Yike prominently displayed.

This wasn’t his computer?

Before Ji Jin could figure out what was going on, the computer started automatically logging into Weibo and another app. Ji Jin knew it was wrong to peek at someone else’s privacy and immediately tried to close everything on the desktop.

But before he could close it, he first saw the content on Weibo:

@Ji Jin’s Head-Patting Recommendation Squad: God Ji’s high-level operation compilation.

This Weibo account was… Ji Jin’s Head-Patting Recommendation Squad?

Although Ji Jin knew that sneaking a peek was wrong, he was too shocked for his hands to obey his mind and they opened Weibo first.

Sure enough, the Weibo account was “Ji Jin’s Head-Patting Recommendation Squad.” It already had over a million followers, and Ji Jin had seen almost every single post there.

This Weibo account had started updating the year Ji Jin joined the professional league. He played for three years, and the blogger had updated continuously for those three years. Though not the fastest to post clips or recommendations, this blogger was always the most insightful commentator.

Ji Jin watched every one of the commentary videos as if he had found a kindred spirit in life. But he never imagined that this “Ji Jin’s Head-Patting Recommendation Squad” was actually right by his side, so close to him.

But whose computer was this exactly? How did it end up here? Ji Jin didn’t have many belongings; the only two valuable things were Ji Xingxing and his computer. He always carried the baby and the computer with him and never lost them.

Except for… that one time on the night of the All-Star game when he played games with Lu Yao.

That night was quite chaotic. Ji Jin recalled it while opening the account on the computer. The account displayed clearly that this was indeed Lu Yao’s computer, and there was even a half-edited video on the desktop.

There was also a folder named “Light and Shadow.”

Driven by curiosity, Ji Jin opened the folder and found it filled with videos related to him. The first folder contained his live streams and game commentaries, the second had official match videos, and the third held the edited commentary videos. All the materials were neatly organized and arranged in order, making everything clear and easy to understand at a glance.

Doing something like this must have taken a lot of time and effort. Yet Lu Yao had done it continuously for three years… and after he returned, he immediately picked it up again and continued.

At that time, Lu Yao was still a youth trainee, maybe with some free time, but now that he was team captain, how did he still find the time to edit his videos so quickly?

Thinking of this, a sweet feeling suddenly surged in Ji Jin’s heart. It wasn’t the scent of sweet pheromones, but like a tiny person had poured a whole jar of honey over his heart.

But the next second, his phone rang.

It was a call from Lu Yao.

Author’s note:

Lu Yao: Impossible. Even if my computer was taken by brother, I wouldn’t get exposed.

Ji Jin: As long as I don’t mention it, Lu Yao isn’t exposed.
