“Why was big brother still standing here and not going home?” Lu Yao’s voice was gentle but carried a hint of menace, his gaze locked tightly on Ji Jin, looking frightening as if afraid the person in front of him would run away. “Still not planning to go home?”
“Why wouldn’t Daddy go home? No! Baby! No!” Ji Xingxing stood beside Lu Yao, wearing a little dinosaur pajama—he didn’t know when he had changed into it—puffing out his little belly and putting his hands on his hips. His chubby little hands rested on his waist, and his short legs spread slightly apart, looking adorably sulky. “Is Daddy going to abandon Baby?”
As he spoke, Ji Xingxing himself started to feel wronged and even had red-rimmed eyes.
The big and small pair, like two roadblocks, left Ji Jin nowhere to escape.
He still had some strength to resist Lu Yao, but when it came to Ji Xingxing, Ji Jin immediately lost all fight and slipped down to his knees. He quickly walked into the elevator and crouched before Ji Xingxing, gently stroking his son’s little dinosaur hat.
“How could Daddy not want his little baby? I was just about to come back,” Ji Jin said nervously as he picked up Ji Xingxing and comforted him tenderly. He didn’t need to look up to feel Lu Yao’s scorching gaze like something tangible.
The little one was relatively easy to soothe; the big one was not so easy.
The elevator went up without a word from Lu Yao, who just stared at Ji Jin as he comforted the angry Ji Xingxing. The little baby’s cheeks puffed up in anger, hugging his dad and refusing to say another word.
Only after returning upstairs did Ji Jin realize and anxiously, in a whiny voice, ask, “Daddy, let’s go home to sleep!” He was always a principled good boy who insisted on going home when it was late and never staying out.
“That’s right, we should go…” Ji Jin said as he held Ji Xingxing and turned to leave—
But before he could finish speaking, it was already too late to leave, because the moment Lu Yao heard that, he slammed the door shut with a bang and locked it immediately. The action was decisive and smooth, probably planned in advance.
“What did big brother say?” Lu Yao raised an eyebrow with a hint of threat in his tone. “Planning to go home?”
“Oh! Daddy… I just remembered.” Ji Jin exclaimed dramatically and quickly turned to carry Ji Xingxing toward the children’s room. “Today we stay here, in this room. Does little Xingxing like it here?”
“Daddy and Baby sleep together?” Ji Xingxing shook his little head rapidly, glancing between his dad and Lu Yao.
“Of course Daddy sleeps with Baby.” Ji Jin put Ji Xingxing on the bed. He saw that Ji Xingxing’s clothes were already on the bed, which meant Lu Yao had bought the pajamas ahead of time and changed him, even finished washing him up—only the bedtime soothing was left.
If Ji Xingxing wouldn’t sleep without seeing him, Lu Yao probably would have already soothed the child to sleep and then come after Ji Jin.
Ji Jin turned and saw Lu Yao standing at the doorway, half leaning against the doorframe, watching him with a predatory glare.
Ji Xingxing had taken a short nap in the afternoon but had been fussing around for a long time just now, scared by the two Alphas’ (Jiao Yue and Lu Yao) pheromones. He had been eagerly waiting for Ji Jin and was already very tired. Now that he touched the bed, he rubbed his eyes sleepily and called for Daddy to soothe him to sleep in a baby voice. Ji Jin held his hand to stop him from rubbing and the child grabbed Ji Jin’s sleeve, refusing to let go.
The little bed, specially designed for children, was soft and comfortable. Although it was summer, the room had central air conditioning, so it wasn’t hot or cold. Ji Jin hummed a lullaby he had learned earlier to soothe Ji Xingxing and gently patted the little baby to sleep.
Ji Xingxing fell asleep quickly because he felt safe with his father nearby. The earlier blockage outside had been caused by a lack of security without Daddy.
The small children’s room quickly grew quiet, only the faint sound of breathing remained.
Ji Jin sat on the edge of the bed, stalling because he did not want to face Lu Yao. Earlier, to delay things openly, he had exposed his gland and said words that clearly meant—
Between an Alpha and Omega, the meaning was unmistakable:
Please mark me, claim me, do whatever you want with everything of mine.
For uncontrollable Alphas, such words and gestures were the best pacifier, calming them the fastest. He had been afraid that Lu Yao and Jiao Yue would actually fight, so he had no choice but to use this tactic.
But now Lu Yao must have realized that the Omega he fancied wouldn’t really let him mark him; everything just now had been a lie and didn’t count.
Any Alpha would be furious about this, especially when Lu Yao liked him.
“The baby is already asleep. What is big brother still sitting here for? Hmm?” Lu Yao’s voice was close, and he had already appeared behind Ji Jin, pressed up against his back.
Ji Jin was startled. The next moment, the arms behind him slipped around his waist and directly grabbed his chest. The person behind him pressed close to his ear, his breath hot and full of desire, exhaling onto the gland at the back of Ji Jin’s neck.
Before Ji Jin could react, Lu Yao’s lips brushed that spot and directly bit off the suppressive patch.
“Lu Yao, you…!”
“Brother promised before, but didn’t do any of it. Now shouldn’t you properly make it up?” Lu Yao’s lips pressed against that vulnerable gland.
The gland was the most fragile and insecure place for an Omega, even someone as careless as Ji Jin felt danger.
“Ji Xingxing… is still here… You can’t do this!” Ji Jin’s speech sped up and his breathing became rapid. This was the first time since returning to the country that he felt so flustered. He wasn’t sure if Lu Yao really took his previous words seriously.
“Then let’s find a place… without Ji Xingxing, okay?” Lu Yao whispered in Ji Jin’s ear. Then his hand slid down to Ji Jin’s thigh and, in a way one would hold a child to pee, he lifted him up and strode out of the children’s room.
“Eh…?” Ji Jin struggled, confused, but the more he struggled, the more his body slid down, and Lu Yao shook him slightly and held him tighter.
Then Lu Yao bent down and sealed his lips with a kiss. The burning sensation traveled along Ji Jin’s clothes to his waist, causing him to shudder.
Compared to the pale and skinny Ji Jin who stayed home playing games, Lu Yao was a strong Alpha who went to the gym to maintain his strength, so he easily lifted Ji Jin and carried him all the way to the master bedroom with a large bed.
There was a big difference in physical strength between Alpha and Omega. Although Ji Jin was also a man, he couldn’t break free. As soon as they entered the master bedroom, he was thrown onto the large bed. The bed was soft, but Ji Jin still felt dizzy when hitting it, slowing his movement to get up.
The whole bed smelled faintly of plum wine — not too strong, but pervasive, like a sweet trap from which Ji Jin could not escape.
Lu Yao climbed on top again and trapped Ji Jin in his arms, making Ji Jin’s eyes see only him.
“You promised but didn’t do a single thing,” Lu Yao said, his hands supporting either side of Ji Jin’s head. His gaze was dangerous. His scent fluctuated from strong to light, indicating his upcoming heat cycle. “And you even went out dating other Alphas — Brother is really too much.”
“Dating other Alphas?” Ji Jin, though restrained, remained clear-headed. “We just casually talked. How is that dating?”
“We talked for so long, how is that not dating?” Lu Yao’s voice showed his anger. “I heard Jiao Yue is from City C, over 1,800 kilometers from City B. He must have come here after hearing that Brother is an Omega.”
Ji Jin made a ‘so what’ expression.
About Jiao Yue, he was truly innocent. He did nothing; Jiao Yue came to him first, and he personally persuaded Jiao Yue to leave.
Was it his fault to be liked by others? That was beyond his control!
However, most Alphas in heat were uncontrollable and irrational. Ji Jin’s answer only pushed Lu Yao’s anger further.
“Jiao Yue likes Brother, but does Brother like Jiao Yue?” Lu Yao’s scent grew denser with his words, his eyes filled with extreme emotion. His hands pinned Ji Jin’s wrists, and he pressed his body down. “Then is Ji Xingxing… Jiao Yue’s child?”
Lu Yao immediately regretted asking that. Who Ji Xingxing’s Alpha father was didn’t really matter; what he wanted was Ji Jin from the start. But words once said couldn’t be taken back.
Ji Jin, lying on the bed, almost laughed in anger. Ji Xingxing looked most like Lu Yao. He himself couldn’t tell otherwise, so how could Ji Xingxing be Jiao Yue’s? Did he and Jiao Yue have some secret affair?
Ji Jin’s hands were pinned, but his legs were free. He suddenly lifted his foot and kicked Lu Yao’s leg hard. But with their physical disparity, the kick didn’t threaten Lu Yao much, only forcing Lu Yao to loosen his grip.
Taking the chance, Ji Jin tried to flip over and escape, but he underestimated Lu Yao’s speed. As soon as he got up, Lu Yao grabbed his slender ankle and pulled him back forcefully.
Ji Jin’s butt hit Lu Yao’s pelvis with a muffled sound.
At this point, Ji Jin’s clothes were already in disarray. His white shirt was torn wide open, exposing the snow-white skin of the back of his neck. His Omega gland was once again exposed, right by Lu Yao’s mouth.
“Brother smells so good.” The suppressing patch on the gland was gone, and the suppressing bracelet on his wrist was forcibly torn off. Now Ji Jin’s body was clean and pure, smelling only of sweet strawberries. Lu Yao closed his eyes and pressed his lips to Ji Jin’s neck, rubbing the fragile gland.
Such a vulnerable place made any Omega feel unsafe when exposed, especially with an Alpha in heat nearby. Ji Jin instinctively wanted to flee the room, but Lu Yao held him so tightly that he couldn’t move.
“Lu Yao!” Ji Jin’s voice warned him, tinged with fear he hadn’t noticed himself.
At this moment, Lu Yao’s eyes only saw the pale and tender skin of the gland. That small patch of skin was as irresistible as water in a desert. In that instant, as if controlled by pheromones, Lu Yao suddenly pulled Ji Jin back and bit down on that skin…
Author’s Note:
God Ji said, “You silly pig brain, can’t you tell whose child Ji Xingxing really was?”
Lu Yao replied, “No matter whose, as long as Brother was mine, that was enough [dark thoughts].”
God Ji: “…”
