Chapter 22: The Lonely Heart

Werewolves are cursed beings.

They bare the deepest form of rage, but also suffer greatly from loneliness.

As the beast and humanity in them struggles for control, they suffer gravely from the torment.

The housekeeper couldn’t help but sigh again as he recalled his memories.

“Later on, Master and I met a person with extremely powerful magic. He told our Master, ‘In the world of light, there will not be a place for you to live. Follow me to where you belong, there, you may unleash your true nature at your will. No one will blame you and you don’t have to feel guilty.’ That person was the Evil Source.”

They both stared at the breakfast that had already turned cold.

Gu Ting Yu heard himself asking, “What happened next?”

Others might not know, but the housekeeper was very aware that his master was extremely scared of being alone.

On the highest floor of the tower, the vicious wind swept violently making it hard to breath.

The werewolf had his back facing him as he observed the forest below the tower and the broad sky far ahead.

When he sensed the human behind him, the werewolf let out a threatening growl.

“Scram! Who allowed you here?!”

Gu Ting Yu sighed.

“If you don’t leave then I’ll kill you, tear you apart, and…” but the werewolf couldn’t continue.

The person behind him did not budge.

The werewolf heaved heavily. If it wasn’t for the wind that stopped abruptly, Gu Ting Yu might have never heard the werewolf whispering,

“Sorry… I lost control…”

The werewolf hated everyone… but what he hated the most was himself.

“Give me your hand.”

The werewolf thought he heard wrongly, he turned back astonished.

The person behind him was wearing his most favorite white blouse. He could not see any emotion on the human’s lean face.

Seeing the werewolf’s blank expression, Gu Ting Yu walked up to the werewolf.

“Close your eyes and don’t think of anything else..”

Then, Gu Ting Yu hugged the werewolf.

As the clouds rolled by, Gu Ting Yu’s body started glowing mildly.

Gu Ting Yu was experiencing the most indescribable torment he ever had; the thousand years of anger and grievances that had accumulated within werewolf converted itself into a negative energy ten times more powerful as it destroyed Gu Ting Yu’s soul.

“NO!!!” Blood started to flow out from Gu Ting Yu’s mouth as the werewolf watched, horrified, the man who was about to fall apart. The werewolf tried to struggle out of Gu Ting Yu’s embrace to relieve his pain but an intense surge of pain suddenly erupted from his heart. The pain stretched itself from his heart to his bones, his veins, even his fur was trembling.

The housekeeper who heard the pair of anguished screams came running from the other end of the castle holding onto the cutlery that he was too panicked to put down.

When he reached the top of the tower, the housekeeper gasped shockingly as he dropped the cutlery, dropping them onto the ground.

The dark clouds dispersed, allowing sunlight to shine into the tower.

The master who had regained his human form held on tightly to the weakened human in his arms.

“Why… Why did you help me?” The master asked quivering in his tear-filled voice.

The man who collapsed onto the ground coughed lightly but his face was void of emotion.

“After being in this bloodthirst for all these years, carrying all that blood debt and burden, don’t you… feel tired?”[/hide]
