Sister Shenanigans in Tokyo
Hey fellow explorers! Grab your favorite cosplay gear, because my sister and I went on our first full day tour of Tokyo that would make even Pikachu’s head spin. Buckle up, as we take you on a journey from the spiritual heights of Sensoji Temple to the neon-soaked streets of Shinjuku, with a dash of Harajuku quirkiness in between.
Our Tokyo escapade kicked off with a 5am breakfast from the hotel. (Because jet lag is no joke.)
After breakfast we went to Don Quijote to buy some random things. There was an entire sex toy section that I had to laugh at due to the packaging.
We went to a pilgrimage to Sensoji Temple, where ancient traditions clashed hilariously with modern-day selfie sticks.
Inside the temple grounds, we tried our hands at omikuji (fortune-telling paper strips). My sister’s fortune predicted “bad luck.”
After a brief stroll through the peaceful Meiji Shrine,
we found ourselves in the vibrant heart of Harajuku. My sister couldn’t resist the allure of Takeshita Street’s quirky fashion boutiques.
My sister had her first takoyaki of the trip which is something she’s been talking about since we booked this trip.
After, we went to Shinjuku for dinner.
With only 5 hours of sleep in the last 48 hours, we decided to take a hot bath and then go to bed. The day started at 4am and we finally fell asleep around 10pm.
I’m tired though, so I’ll have to show you the haul at the end of the trip.
Okonomiyaki is what your sister ate – looks soooooo yummy!!
P.s. Taiyaki is the bun shaped like a fish with sweet bean paste in it. Also super yummy!
Oops! I meant she ate takoyaki – geeze It looked so good I forgot what I was looking at.
Wow, not surprising you’re both exhausted. What a great first day and more to come.
What a full day! The sex toys packaging is hilarious! Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
