At three in the morning, Li Sinian stood in Suzhou. This trip tonight was very much against his theory of healthy living, so he didn’t rush home after getting off the plane, but went to the airport hotel and slept the night away, getting a full eight hours of sleep before getting up.
While Li Sinian was sleeping, something happened to Li.
Li Sinian left, and the project leader of their family’s project with ChuanHe Construction had to be changed. Since Li Cheng valued this cooperation very much, and since his unlucky son had left a very heavy psychological shadow on ChuanHe’s people on the first day, he decided to receive ChuanHe’s head personally next.
Li Cheng asked his secretary to contact Ai Sibi, who was very happy to hear the news. They guessed that Li Sinian was suddenly replaced because Li’s normal people couldn’t see what he was doing anymore. Although they were also very happy that the other party lowered the price, what made them feel happiest was that they no longer had to carry their old bones to go to Joy World to play jumpers.
The five cheered and got ready to go again to talk to Li’s people about cooperation. But before today’s trip could begin, they received a call from Little Jiang.
Little Jiang’s message was simple: Agree to cooperate with the Li’s.
Ai Sibi was about to talk about this. He proudly said that the Vice President Li who received them yesterday had been replaced and that Li had lowered the price, but he didn’t expect the caller to be silent once he finished.
After a long time, Little Jiang’s voice came again, sounding not very happy, “You mean, Li Sinian is no longer in charge of this cooperation?”
Ai Sibi said, “Yes.”
“Then forget it.” Little Jiang’s voice was colder, “Tell Li’s people that I don’t agree to cooperate, and if they ask why, just say that I like Li Sinian very much, and the cooperation is also for Li Sinian, and now that the person in charge is not Li Sinian anymore, there is no need to cooperate.”
After saying that, he hung up the phone, leaving Ai Sibi alone in the messy room. Ai Sibi felt incredulous. He could have sworn that their cooperation with Li’s was definitely not for Li Sinian who liked to make snake wine, because before they came to the capital city, Little Jiang did not know Li Sinian at all.
But there was no way, even if he thought it was amazing, the boss gave the word, he could only swallow the belly-full of questions and do as he was told.
ChuanHe’s people went to meet Li Cheng. Today’s meal was much more normal, like every meal they used to participate in, drinking as the main meal, eating as a supplement, drinking and talking about business, as it should be done.
Li Cheng thought so, but at the end of the drink, the people of ChuanHe gave him a blow to the head.
“Sorry President Li, that’s what Little Jiang said, he only wants to talk to Vice President Li about cooperation, how about… You change the person in charge back again?”
Ai Sibi said these words to Li Cheng with an apologetic face.
Then he saw Li Cheng’s face stiffen. Li Cheng was not happy, and actually they were not too happy either, because they really felt that Li was offering a good deal. But this was a disguised way to see Li’s sincerity, if Li was really willing to toss for them, this means that it really wanted to work with them. Not to mention that changing the person in charge was not too much of a toss.
At the end of today’s meal, Li Cheng’s secretary gave them the answer that Li regrettably could not work with them anymore. The implication of this was that they did not agree to change the person in charge. The people of ChuanHe also expressed their regret, and at the same time, a question emerged in their hearts.
Why couldn’t they just change the person in charge?
That afternoon they reported the matter to Little Jiang, who expressed his regret in a very perfunctory manner and let them come back.
Only Li Cheng knew why he didn’t agree with ChuanHe’s proposal to put Li Sinian in charge of the cooperation between the two companies. Because Li Sinian had already been sent to Suzhou. If he let Li Sinian come back, then was this not a disguised admission that he had done wrong? How could he be wrong?
*
When ChuanHe Construction’s people returned to HaiCheng, Li Sinian was almost done resting at the hotel. He pulled his suitcase and went back to the old house that only existed in his childhood memory. Although the house had been empty for years, it was not very dirty and did not need much cleaning because someone came to clean it all the time.
Li Sinian entered the house, first offered incense to his grandmother, and then started to put away his luggage. Li Sinian was able to live in a house of more than 100 square meters, which was more than enough for him to live alone. Of course, the most satisfying part of the house was the yard at the entrance.
Grandma loved to grow vegetables, there was a large open space in front of the house, and there were many tools for gardening stacked in the corner, so he did not need to go to buy any.
With his luggage mostly put away, while the time was still early, Li Sinian went out to visit the market, intending to buy a handful of seeds. He was a good-looking man who attracted a lot of attention from the moment he stepped into this village.
The village was small, but in the afternoon, everyone knew that a handsome young man was living in the vacant house at the east end of the village. As soon as Li Sinian arrived at the market, he felt that someone was looking at him, but when he turned around in the direction of his gaze, he found that everyone behind him was doing their own thing, as if the feeling of being stared at was just an illusion.
With this uncomfortable feeling of being watched closely, Li Sinian went to a store selling seeds. The seeds of fruits and vegetables were all available here, and they were all seeds collected from the results of home-grown vegetables and fruits, and the prices were a bit higher than those sold online, but the seeds were absolutely perfect.
Li Sinian’s learning ability was very strong, memory was better than others. Before boarding the plane, he bought a book on agronomy, which contained the knowledge on how to select seeds, and since he couldn’t sleep well on the plane, he finished reading it.
So he still had some experience in selecting seeds. Li Sinian entered the store, declined the owner’s help, and put his head down to carefully select seeds. He wanted to plant some of the more commonly eaten vegetables and fruits to test the water first, after all, he had never had any experience in growing vegetables before, and the books he had read were just theoretical knowledge.
Li Sinian chose four kinds of vegetables and two kinds of fruit seeds and went to the checkout. The boss looked at him for a while and asked, “Young man, did you just move to our village today?”
Li Sinian nodded, “Yes, do you know me?”
“No, I heard it from someone else.” The boss smiled and said, “Someone saw you, and then everyone was talking about it today, saying that there is a big star in our village. As soon as I saw you, I thought that must be you.”
Li Sinian froze for a moment before he realized that the big star was probably complimenting him on his good looks. He replied, “Thanks, but I’m not a big star. I’ll probably be staying here for a long time, so please take care of me.”
“That’s for sure, people in our village are especially friendly and hospitable.” The boss stared at Li Sinian’s face carefully, and when he was about to leave after paying the bill, the boss couldn’t help but call out to him, “Eh, young man, you’re really not a big star, right?”
Li Sinian lost his smile, “I’m really not.”
Only after the person walked away, the boss muttered softly, “Really not? There is no one so good-looking.”
On the way home, Li Sinian bought a few vegetables and a handful of noodles for dinner today. When he got home, he had a quick dinner and went out with the seeds, ready to try his hand at planting, an essential part of life in the garden. It was almost evening when he went out, and the sun was setting, the fiery red sunset hanging in the sky, which was very beautiful.
The environment in the countryside was better than in the city, and the evening sunset could be seen more clearly. Li Sinian went out and stood in the yard looking at the sky for a while before slowly starting to move. He had been busy all his life, constantly studying and working to improve himself, so he was always in an endless state of anxiety, and now that he had stopped, he realized that he had actually missed a lot of the good things in life.
If he had taken a little break in his previous life, he would not have ended up in that situation.
Li Sinian thought, smiled and shook his head. Forget it, it’s all in the past, it’s a new beginning now, and he wants to cherish the moment.
The first step to planting vegetables was to remove the weeds and loosen the soil. The house had not been lived in for three years, the yard had a bit too many weeds. While someone was specially hired to clean the house, the cleaning was limited to the house only.
Li Sinian saw that the amount of weeding work was not small, so he called the man who had been looking after the house and asked him to bring a few more people over to help with the weeding. In fact, the job could be done tomorrow, but Li Sinian was now a bit excited and he wanted to start now.
Li Sinian first squatted down and tried to get rid of a handful of grass by himself, squatting down and getting up, there were quite a few people standing in front of his yard. It was not that they were actually standing in front of his yard, but everyone within his reach was looking at him as if he was some kind of rare treasure.
Li Sinian, “…”
He felt that this village shouldn’t be called Mulin Village,1 it should be called Owl Village, because he found out when he went to the market in the afternoon that people over here really like to stare at others so much.
The good thing was that it didn’t take long for the weeding helpers to arrive, and Li Sinian put in the work and left them alone.
After about three days of weeding and loosening the soil, the land in front of the yard was finally in a state where vegetables could be planted. The next thing was easier, Li Sinian could do it himself, so he paid the helpers and sent them away.
In the past three days, in addition to weeding, he also took a refresher course in agronomy, and felt that if he were to take a self-study in agronomy, he would be able to pass. The seeds were in the ground, and Li Sinian’s daily task was to water and fertilize, very leisurely.
Li Sinian understood this, so after he got on track with his vegetable gardening, he went into the city and rented a store in the outermost suburban location. He planned to open a small restaurant.
It didn’t matter how many customers there were, the income was almost equal to the restaurant’s expenses, he needed to have something to do every day.
Li Sinian had been conscious of saving money since high school, and has saved a lot of money in the past few years, so he chose a store and paid the rent directly for a year. The rent was not expensive, so if the restaurant fails he could open another small store instead. That day Li Sinian finished the store and found people standing on his doorstep again.

Can’t wait for Li Si Nian’s restaurant to be opened. I’m really curious what will he cook for the healthy menus. So excited! 😃 He really make me want to live healthy too.
I’m quite jealous, even though I’ve never been motivated enough to do something like that, alone.
Thank you both for the chapter.
