Chapter 102: Hatred—Part Five
Although he was pierced right through the chest, Jiang Cheng wasn’t so weak as to have died right then. It just wasn’t the best for him to move or conjure up his spiritual powers. He didn’t like it when others tried to help him, turning to Jin Ling he said, “Fuck off.”
Jin Ling knew Jiang Cheng was still mad at him for running around. He felt guilty and didn’t dare defend himself. The dog’s barks came from afar, followed by a sudden wail. Jin Ling shuddered as he remembered what Jin GuangYao said, shouting, “Fairy, run! They’re gonna kill you!”
Soon, Su She rushed through the storm, furious. Jin GuangYao, “You didn’t kill it?”
Su She’s expression darkened, “I couldn’t. Can’t believe the dog’s so spineless. It’s wild when somebody’s there to help it, but as soon as it’s at a disadvantage, it runs away faster than anyone!”
Jin GuangYao shook his head, “It might lead someone else over. We should finish things quickly here.”
Su She, “Those good-for-nothings! I’ll go make them hurry.”
Jin Ling, on the other hand, let out a sigh of relief. Seeing Jiang Cheng sit on the ground, still dark-faced, he turned to Lan WangJi after some hesitation, “HanGuang-Jun, are there any more sitting mats?”
The four mats that they’d been sitting on were all gathered by Lan WangJi. However, there were only four within the temple. After some silence, Lan WangJi stood up and pushed over the one he’d been sitting on.
Jin Ling hurried, “Thank you! It’s fine. I’ll just give him mine…”
Lan WangJi, “There is no need.”
As soon as he finished, he sat down beside Wei WuXian. Even as the two sat so seriously on the same sitting mat, they didn’t seem too cramped. Now that the mat was handed over already, Jin Ling scratched his head before dragging Jiang Cheng over. Jiang Cheng first pressed onto an acupoint at his chest, stopping the blood flow. After he sat down, he looked up and glanced over at Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi. He soon looked down again. His face was gloomy, disclosing nothing of what he was thinking.
Right at this point, an ecstatic cry came from behind the palace, “Sect Leader! We got it! A corner is out already!”
Jin GuangYao’s expression relaxed quite somewhat. He quickly walked back behind the palace, “Press on! Please be careful. There’s not much time left.”
Over a dozen streaks of lightning twisted their way across the edge of the sky. They were soon followed by a series of roaring thunder. Over there, Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi sat together while Jiang Cheng sat at the side. Jin Ling dragged his own mat over as well. Amid the pounding of the rain, there was a long while of dead, awkward silence. Nobody spoke up.
But for some reason, Jin Ling seemed as if he really wanted to talk to them. After some glancing around, he suddenly began, “Uncle, good thing you stopped that guqin string earlier on, or else things would be pretty bad.”
Jiang Cheng’s face darkened, “You can shut up!”
If not for him leaving Jin GuangYao with a chance for a sneak attack due to his own unstable emotions, he wouldn’t have landed in the enemy’s hands either. On top of that, in reality, Wei WuXian and Lan WangJi could’ve completely dodged the attack on their own. Even though, right now, Lan WangJi had no spiritual powers and Wei WuXian’s were low to begin with, their skills were still there. They couldn’t attack, but they were still able to dodge. Clumsily, Jin Ling was trying to speak for his uncle, yet the deliberation made the situation even more awkward.
After being scolded, Jin Ling stopped talking, embarrassed. Jiang Cheng sealed his lips together and didn’t speak again.
Wei WuXian didn’t say anything either. In the past, he’d definitely laugh at Jiang Cheng for being so easily-provoked that he gave the opponent an opportunity. But now, recalling what Jin GuangYao said, he understood everything.
Jiang Cheng knew the truth already.
Lan WangJi stroked Wei WuXian’s back a few more times. Wei WuXian looked up. Lan WangJi didn’t seem at all surprised. His eyes were almost gentle. Wei WuXian felt his heart skip a beat. He couldn’t help but whisper, “… You knew?”
Lan WangJi nodded slowly.
Wei WuXian let out a light breath, “… Wen Ning.”
Wen Ning had originally been keeping Suibian, but now it was in Jiang Cheng’s hands. And on their way back from Lotus Pier, Wen Ning said nothing of such a matter.
Wei WuXian, “When did he say it?”
Lan WangJi, “While you were unconscious.”
Wei WuXian, “This was how we left Lotus Pier?!”
If not that Wen Ning hadn’t found them yet, Wei WuXian would definitely have begun glaring at him already.
Lan WangJi, “He always felt sorry for you.”
Wei WuXian’s tone was tinged with anger, “… I told him so many times not to say it!”
Out of the blue, Jiang Cheng spoke up, “Not to do what?”
Wei WuXian paused in surprise, turning to him along with Lan WangJi. Jiang Cheng covered his wound with one hand, his voice chilly, “Wei WuXian, you’re such a great, selfless person. You did the best things possible, and you swallowed all the suffering and didn’t let anyone know. What a touching story. I should kneel down and cry in gratitude, shouldn’t I?”
Hearing the mocking tone that lacked any courtesy, Lan WangJi’s face grew cold. Jin Ling saw the displeased expression and immediately stood in front of Jiang Cheng, scared that Lan WangJi would kill him with one strike, “Uncle!”
Wei WuXian’s expression worsened as well. He never expected Jiang Cheng to make up with him after he found out the truth, but he didn’t think his tone would be as unkind as ever, either. With a moment of silence, he replied, voice muffled, “I never asked you to thank me.”
Jiang Cheng let out a hah, “Of course. Giving without expecting anything in return. What a high level. Unlike me, of course. So that’s why my father always said you were the one who truly understood the Jiang Sect’s motto and did things the Jiang way, back when he was alive.”
Wei WuXian couldn’t keep on listening any longer, interrupting him, “Enough.”
Jiang Cheng’s voice harshened, “What do you mean, enough? It’s enough as long as you say so? You know everything! You’re better than me at everything! Whether it be talent or cultivation or spirituality or personality, you guys knew everything while I was much lower—then what am I?!?!”
He suddenly reached out, as if to seize Wei WuXian’s collar. Lan WangJi grabbed Wei WuXian’s shoulder with one hand, letting Wei WuXian stand behind him, and with his other hand he forcefully pushed away Jiang Cheng’s hand. Rage could be seen hidden within his eyes. Although his push held no spiritual energy, it was quite powerful in terms of strength. The wound at Jiang Cheng’s chest ripped apart again. Blood surged.
Jin Ling cried, “Uncle, your wound! HanGuang-Jun, spare some mercy!”
However, Lan WangJi’s voice was cold, “Jiang WanYin, spare some virtue!”
Lan XiChen took off his outer robe and lay it over the shivering Nie HuaiSang, “Sect Leader Jiang, please do not be so agitated. Your injury will worsen.”
Jiang Cheng shoved Jin Ling, who’d been holding him up helplessly, out of the way. Even though he was losing blood, it rushed to his head unceasingly. His face switched between white and red, “Why? Wei WuXian, just fucking why?”
Behind Lan WangJi, Wei WuXian replied stiffly, “Why what?”
Jiang Cheng, “Just how much did we the Jiang Sect give you? I’m supposed to be his son, I’m supposed to be the heir of the YunmengJiang Sect, yet all these years I’ve been outdone by you at every single thing. You paid for your bringing-up with life! The lives of my dad, my mom, my sister, and Jin ZiXuan! Because of you, all that’s left is a parentless Jin Ling!”
Jin Ling trembled. His shoulders sunk, and his face sagged as well. Wei WuXian moved his lips, but he couldn’t say anything. Lan WangJi turned around to hold his hand.
On the other hand, Jiang Cheng refused to give up, shouting, “Wei WuXian, who was the one who broke his promise and betrayed the Jiang Sect first? Tell me. That I’d be the sect leader and you’d be my subordinate, that you’d help me your whole life, that so long as the GusuLan Sect had its Two Jades, the YunmengJiang Sect would have its Two Prides, that you’d never betray me or betray the Jiang Sect—who was the one that said these?! I’m asking you—who was the one that said all these?! Did you eat all your fucking words?!”
He got more agitated as he ranted on, “And in the end? You go and protect outsiders, haha! The Wen Sect’s people, even. How much of their rice did you eat?! Defecting with such resolution! What did you take our sect to be?! You did all the best things, yet every time you do the worst ones, it’s involuntary! Forced! With some unspeakable grievances! Grievances?! You told me nothing, you played me for a fool!!!
“Just how much do you owe the Jiang Sect? Am I not supposed to hate you? Can I not hate you?! Why is it that now it’s like I’m supposed to have wronged you?! Why do I have to feel like I’m a fucking clown all these years?! What am I? Do I deserve to be blinded by all your dazzling splendor?! Am I not supposed to hate you?!”
Lan WangJi shot up. With panic, Jin Ling stood in front of Jiang Cheng, “HanGuang-Jun! My uncle’s hurt…”
Jiang Cheng slapped him onto the ground, “Let him come! Am I scared of him?!”
But after the slap, Jin Ling froze. Not only him, Wei WuXian, Lan WangJi, and Lan XiChen all stopped moving.
Jiang Cheng was crying. Tears poured from his eyes as he forced through his teeth, “… Why… Why didn’t you tell me?!”
Jiang Cheng clenched his fist, like he wanted to hit someone, like he wanted to hit himself. In the end, he still slammed it onto the ground. He should’ve been able to loathe Wei WuXian without a care. But right now, the golden core revolving within him took away all that confidence.
Wei WuXian didn’t know what to say.
In the beginning, it was precisely because he didn’t want to see such a Jiang Cheng that he decided not to tell him.
He remembered every single thing he promised Jiang FengMian and Madam Yu—to help and take care of Jiang Cheng. If someone as unhealthily competitive as him found out about this, he’d be dispirited his whole life, too tortured to face himself. There’d always be something he could never overcome, reminding him that he could only reach where he was because of another’s sacrifice. It wasn’t at all his cultivation and his achievement. No matter if he won or lost, he’d long since lost the right to compete.
Afterwards, it was because Jin ZiXuan and Jiang YanLi died for him that he had no face to let others know. To tell Jiang Cheng after what happened then would be like shirking responsibility, hurrying to demonstrate that he’d contributed as well. It’d be like telling Jiang Cheng, don’t hate me, look I’ve contributed to the YunmengJiang Sect too.
Jiang Cheng cried soundlessly, but tears had already streaked across his face. To cry in such an unsightly way in front of others was almost impossible for him in the past. But every single moment that passed from now on, as long as the golden core remained in his body, as long as it could still revolve, he’d forever remember this feeling.
He choked, “… You said I’d be the sect leader and you’d be my subordinate, you said you’d help me your whole life, you said you’d never betray the YunmengJiang Sect… You said so yourself.”
“…” After a moment of silence, Wei WuXian replied, “I’m sorry. I broke my promise.”
Jiang Cheng shook his head, burying his face deep into his palms. A second later, he suddenly burst out with a laugh. His muffled voice mocked, “It’s such a time already, and I still need you to say sorry to me. What a fragile person I am.”

Even up to this point, JC is never honest with himself. His pride really gets the best of him almost every time. Having too much pride as well as not being honest with one’s self and with others can really ruin relationships. Since it is really hard to how a person truly thinks and feels, expressing them into words is really necessary. But knowing what kind of person JC is, he probably will never say it honestly and instead, say the worst things.
All he probably wants is for Wei Ying to stand by his side and support him always, but he really felt betrayed when WY chose to stand on the Wens’ side. He probably felt he doesn’t really mean much to WY, just like how his father (JFM) and sister (JYL) did. (by how he is always saying that wei ying is always spoiled by both JFM and JYL). He is so insecure and he’s always dissatisfied with himself. He just needs someone who can understand and appreciate him more (since, he never felt loved by anyone). He expects that WY would be that “someone” but sadly, WY already belongs to LZ and he (JC) knows that he will never become special to him (WY) anymore. JC is also unusually jealous towards how WY treats LZ (he probably subconsciously felt that the way WY treat LZ is somewhat special and he hates it).
Hahaha I always end up saying so much when I feel overwhelmed and it’s always about Jiang Cheng. My ghad! there are many times in which I see myself in him and in those times, I really hated him (that’s to say, I really hate myself at times). Anyways, I really feel bad for him.. ToT
I relate to this comment do hard….you’ve summedup my feelings perfectly. Kinda the magic of characters, I suppose….they allow you to reflect upon yourself and your own feelings.
well said, couldn’t have said it any better myself. Although I hate JC I can’t help but to feel bad for him.
“A second later, he suddenly burst out with a laugh. His muffled voice mocked, “It’s such a time already, and I still need you to say sorry to me. What a fragile person I am.””
Uh you don’t say. Why do you think WWX withheld that information from you in the first place?
Thank you for the chapter!
Omg this is really heartbreaking
I think so…how awfully
Go rip me apart, why don’t you! .:_:.
What a way to hurt my Wei Ying
What a way to hurt my Jiang Cheng
What a way to infuriate my Lan Zhan…
Gosh this author is unbelievably amazing
And you translators! You too! Thank you!
Take me back to those times when everything is still okay. How Jiang Cheng is like a tsundere big bro. How he keeps reminding WWX to do this and not to do that. How everytime WWX is in trouble because of his carefree attitude big bro would always rescue him. I really liked that part when he carried WWX on his back because the latter couldn’t walk due to the slashing as his punishment for breaking some of the Cloud Recesses’ rules.
miss that so much
But JC is younger than WWX though. Or.. at least i think so
They are of the same age,but yes WY is older than JC by months or so i guess. But its true,JC acts like an older brother,a scolding one.
JC is broken but…. Did the 7 deadly sin so bad like…. He can’t remove his PRIDE even now he is full of it.(it’s my 2nd time reading but still I wanna slap him(JC) so hard).💜
Yep he has the right to get angry
He lost everything… Losing his core is losing himself..
He don’t know where to place himself…
What hurts more…
He just want his brother by his side
Just wants someone to stand by him
JC’s reaction is normal…
However, WWX lost everyone too. He had to watch people he loved die or turn on him in the end. Even up to LWJ – he believed the LWJ only barely tolerated him and the best he could hope for was for LWJ to end his suffering by killing him. JC didn’t have to lose WWX, he turned on him, choosing to side with other sects even when his sister was alive. JC is fragile and insecure about himself, WWX knows this and wanted to protect him so that his brother would have the strength to rebuild Lotus Pier and be powerful. JC wanted is hot headed, he’s a good leader, but too hot headed when it comes to family matters to actually think. His sister didn’t die by WWX’s hands, she sacrificed herself to save WWX. Her choice to respect or not. His parents would have died at the hands of the Wens either way. JC could have been more understanding about WWX needing to protect the innocent Wens from being persecuted by the Jins, but he just saw that his brother ‘betrayed’ him. And JZ’s death was all JGY’s doing. JC let himself be poisoned against his brother because the poison was already there within him to begin with. It just took a slimy POS like JGY and the jealousy/fears of other sect leaders to bring it the surface so easily. Hell, the Jins sat there and out right protected a psycho like XY (WR’s rabid dog) for so long and because they have money, not one sect leader turned on them, even when it was clear they were trying to do the same thing WWX did. Money and opulence vs poverty and desperation. Look at LXC just following JGY even when he’s a hostage, but he’s still believing in the BS of the Jin Sect.
Can we just stop saying jzx’s death was all jgy’s doing? I don’t know if it’s because of what they did with the drama and maybe people got confused, but in the novel it’s clearly not jgy’s fault if jzx died, but it’s because of wwx losing control, he said so himself.. jgy hoped wwx died that day, not jzx, and he didn’t expect wwx would kill everyone instead.. in an interview mxtx talked about this
I can’t agree with you more. My third read through and I can’t help but cry with JC. I just keep being reminded of what Lan Zhan said to the kids on the boat ride back from the failed siege on the Burial Mounds (chapter 84): “we are all human.”
JC isn’t perfect, and I don’t agree with a lot of the crap he’s done but he’s freaking human, a human who’s gone through incomparable loss, even the loss of his very best friend and brother in all but blood. In the end, JC ended up all alone to care for a boy left parentless because of the actions of his (JC’s) beloved shidi (even if WWX never wanted it to happen, it still did).
So just… give JC and all the other characters in this amazing story a little bit of slack.
P.S. I can’t thank the translators enough for the work they’ve done on this series 😭 No matter how good a story, it can be easily ruined by a bad translation, but the team at EXR has done such a remarkable job, so thank you for all your hard work (and yes, I’m aware that this was translated almost 2 years ago but hey, what can I say? I was grossly late to the party 😂)
I feel you right there hahahaha
yap jc is human. also, he should remind himself that wwx cares about him a lot that is why he gave up his core for him. so i think wwx still fulfill his promised that he will be with jc side. because his core is inside him.
Ohh i like your thinking.Eventhough they will never be the same anymore and WWX will always stay by LWJ’s side from now on,therefore truly leaving JC alone.Since his past body’s golden core revolves inside JC,i like to think as well that at least that part of WWX will always stay with JC,helping his brother with its strong spiritual power, reminding him of his brother’s love and sacrifice eventhough it hurts. So in a way,a part of WWX will always stay by JC’s side.
You’re right! In a way, a part of him will sleays be with him.
*always
After all this time
I feel so sympathetic for Jiang Cheng
Can anyone tell me what is the name of the song, posted in top of the chapter?
This was such a powerful chapter. What makes Jiang Cheng such a moving force is that – in a way – he is present in most, if not all of us, one way or another. He represents a side of us that is passionate yet powerless, angry yet remorseful, loving yet hating.
This chapter is a rollercoaster of emotions. It seriously breaks my heart seeing WWX, JC hurt. 💔💔😭😭
I understand you hurt to being blind n feel betrayed from the truth but to say WWX betrayed you n reminding him about the old promise after you choose listening other people than your own brother, isn’t too funny? Jezzz you want WWX beside you n support you but you never consider WWX’s principle to help weak people n more choose to get a justice than anything…after all only LWJ understand WWX better…
He got a sect to take consideration too. The moment he goes to yiling mountain to encourage wwc to go back to yunmeng and stop going against other sect because he is worried that wwx would drag down himself by helping the wen.
Well! After that passionate outburst – as long overdue as it was – I really don’t know what to comment on at all!
*thinks*
Uhm. Fairy is a clever dog? 🙂
It seems like there are no secrets anymore now… At least not between the Lan, Jiang and Jing sects (excepting JGY of course).
Everyone knows about WangJi and his beloved, everyone knows about Jiang Cheng and his golden core, everyone knows why Jing Ling is an orphan…
That awkward moment before the outburst was well written. I feel for both WuXian (why can’t I do what’s right and what’s decent without being made to feel guilty for it?) as well as Jiang Cheng (why does he show off and my family suffers for it?)
Jiang Cheng will be reminded of the other’s sacrifice all his life, as if it wasn’t bad enough that he’d always been the more inferior one….
This sentence said it so perfectly – ‘No matter if he won or lost, he’d long since lost the right to compete’.
Now I don’t know how can the 2 possibly reconcile. Would WuXian’s apology be enough? I don’t know…
*sighs*
WangJi’s protectiveness was awesome to see though!! 🙂
And I really like Jing Ling for wanting them all to get along even though he’d lost his parents to WuXian. I’m rooting for him 🙂
Now I have 2 questions.
One is that if Mo XuanYu was considered a low level cultivator, it would mean he had a golden coil, however undeveloped it might be. So it’s still possible for WuXian to train it up and improve it, right? Then he’d be able to regain his awesome sword skills again!
The other is how could he have unsheathed Suibian to cut up the watermelon they took from the farmer’s house since he didn’t have his golden coil, and that’s what Suibian recognises?
Anyway, thank you as always for a wonderfully translated chapter. I’m in awe of the author of this story and I’m in awe of this group’s translation skills!!!
@YenGirl Having read so many wuxia novels.. I think there are some similarities in which there is a certain age limit to cultivate. They have to start cultivating at a young age to be able to gain a good result. Mo Xuan Yu is already an adult when his body was given to Wei Ying. That’s why I think it’s too late for Wei Ying to train the body.
As for Sui Bian… I think the sword recognizes two things: the golden core and the soul. Since Wei Ying has the soul, Sui Bian recognizes him as its master.
Offcourse all of the above are just my theories 😉
I’m SUPER obsessed with this novel so I’ll try to answer your questions as best as I can. I watched the live action drama and got hooked, then anime, and then finally read the novel. I am re-reading some of my favorite parts now. Then considering listening to the audio drama… This novel just BLEW my mind in terms of the story especially how the characters are so relatable and well-written each growing so much. I feel for each and every one of them even our not so loved villains too.
Now in regards to your 1st question – Mo XuanYu’s body does have a golden core, but it is very weak since he only trained with the Jin sect for a few years (? not sure how long he was there until he got kicked out). WWX could train this new golden core in MXY’s body, but it is kind of like what was mentioned about Jiang Cheng earlier –that some golden cores are superior or inferior. MXY hadn’t done much cultivation and thus if WWX tried to cultivate it maybe he could raise it up, but I doubt it would be to the level of his original WWX core. When Wen Ning revealed to JC about WWX’s core being inside of him and that he never surpassed WWX in cultivation I took it as cores are all each special in their own way. I think of it in terms of innate abilities some are naturally talented like WWX mentioning he was a “prodigy” while growing up. While some, I would assume would be less superior in abilities while you could still train it to cultivate higher with more spiritual energy so it would all vary.
2nd question – The other is how could he have unsheathed Suibian to cut up the watermelon they took from the farmer’s house since he didn’t have his golden coil, and that’s what Suibian recognises?
I thought I read earlier that Wen Ning revealed that WWX could use his sword, but not for too long because he lacked the spiritual energy from his lost golden core. I would assume chopping a watermelon would not take too much energy?
I hope I answered your questions! My 2nd re-read of parts had me picking up more details I missed before. 🙂
I’ll answer you with the golden core bit since a lot of ppl tends to be confused or makes mistakes.MXY’s spiritual power is really low therefore he had not even form a core yet, even at that age(25ish something).Meaning since its WWX’s new body from now on,WWX will be able to form a golden core again, with much training, nurturing and ofc help from his Lan Zhan(it is said by the author herself).Things of important to note regarding GC is that.
1.When a golden core is melted away,it will never recover again, meaning that if not for WWX giving his golden core to JC,JC will never be able to grow a new core since its already melted and destroyed.
2.Since WWX gave his own core to JC,if he was still in his past body,he will never be able to grow a new core again, because to simply put,its gone forever(similar to the melting, but more of an empty feeling)thats why he truly has no choice but to cultivates using resentful energy and why he founded the demonic sect.
3.Now onto the present,as mentioned before, since his new body(mxy’s) does not form a core yet due to extremely low spiritual power and lack of training, the author says that WWX will eventually form a golden core in his new body, with Lan WangJi’s help(he will try his best to help,it is known). This means that even if its later than others, with WWX and LWJ’s determination, this new body will eventually have its own golden core soon.In the extra chapters,it is implied he already has formed one,and that his spiritual power is high. And i’m sure he will be able to use Suibian again. He can still cultivates using resentful energy, but it will not affect his heart and minds anymore like in the past, since his spiritual energy(golden core)will help him balance things out. All’s well that ends well.
Just imagine how the golden core in WWX’s new body would grow exponentially if he puts his mind into cultivating regularly from here on out. In his old body, he was able to gain such a high level of cultivation despite his irregular sleeping patterns, his aversion to daily cultivating practices and such to the degree that at his Subian sword was able to seal itself when most adult cultivators of his generation have not been able to make their swords do that, LWJ included (WWX could freely unsheath LWJ’s sword, right?). I’m certain, under the “tutelage” (and nagging! Haha!) of his beloved LWJ, he’ll even surpass his old record in no time!
Yup in no time at all. Plus their dual cultivation definitely will speed things up😏. By the time of the extra chapters, it seemed he already formed one.
I don’t understand why JC blames WWX for the death of Jin Ling’s parents when the blame solely lays at the feet of JGY. But it’s not just JC, many of the cultivators in this novel only care about how things appear and not about the reality of what is happening around them. Life is not black and white and characters like WWX and JGY are here to show them the gray elements. It makes me wonder at what they are cultivating in the first place if they don’t have the wisdom to know that when they can be so easily manipulated by pretty, shiny things and turn away from actual dirty work.
But maybe it hasn’t always been about the death of his parents or his sister, but about the fact that he never knew why WWX left and broke his promise. He never stopped to think that maybe, just maybe his brother had a good reason and never thought to stand by him. He just wanted WWX to be the one to stand by his side, never thought to do the same for WWX. Only LWJ thought about it clearly, but that was when it was too late and he had to wait 16 years.
Jiang Cheng could have avoided a lot of grievances if he had stood by his brother instead of going around kissing butt in Lanlin. He let his insecurities drive him away from Wei WuXian. That is why FenMian didn’t think he understood the motto at all. Because he would never help anyone, it wasn’t his business. Yes, he did have to think of his sect, of course, but really, he is not a bad person, why would he let the LanlinJin sect torture the Wen remnants. I do not believe he hated them that much.
is it only me who actually love and understand Jiang Cheng? why are people hating on my poor boy😭 he grew up longing for his father’s love. and then was left all alone…..I want to enter the novel and hug him so bad please😂
Me too i loved jiang cheng as a character
Omg same. He is such a misunderstood character
Honestly as someone who grew up with a very talented sibling who I was always compared to, I totally understand him. It is a very weird and complicated relationship. To really care about someone but also be resentful of them. You expect them to be there for you, when they can’t help but want to shine in the spotlight all the time. Your own talents seem less important or impressive and you always feel compared even if no one is openly doing so. When I first watched the drama I thought that whoever wrote this might have a similar experience, or know somebody who did. It’s such a specific type of feeling.
Can someone tell me the name of the audio track posted in the chapter please?
I feel so bad for both JC and WWX, they both lost so much. Both of them were broken. JC’s charecter is so realistic, I understand him because even I have a lot of pride( it’s difficult to put your pride aside 😅). But even WWX lost everyone, in the end he gave his core to JC. READERS can feel their pain .
JC just wants his bro back and WWX ( he also does but I guess he’s holding back)
Both of them are so well written …
Im quite confused with the part that Lan zhan has no spiritual powers. How could it be? I never read that his golden core was given away, only the bichen, right? Can someone please clarify this?
He locked the power temporarily
nah you can save the world and I’ll still dislike you Jiang Cheng.
It has been more than 10 years and jiangcheng remains unchanged… I can’t believe that even though so much time has passed his pride is still high up there. His attitude have not changed too… I hope he change for the better after all these ends.
Also me : I’m reading this for the 3rd time and every time i read this part it makes me wonder why jiangcheng still behave in such as manner especially towards weiying :/
If only I can jump in their and give their heads a few smacks
“LET YOU PRIDE DOWN JC! OR I’LL CRUSH IT AND YOU WWX MAKE UP WITH JC ALREADY!” *hugs them both tightly*
now when i think about it…. the cultivation clans won against the bad wen clan with the he help of wwx as yiling patriarch…
Depois desses capítulos apenas sinto vontade de resetar tudo… já me coloquei tanto nos pés desses personagens que nesse ponto se eu fosse um deles apenas desistiria de tudo lol não sei é meio depreciativo ler tudo de novo..
Remembering the expressions from the drama while reading this is making me cry all over again ; _ ;
