Chapter 104: Hatred (Part Seven)

Su She finally realized what went wrong, immediately covering up his chest with his lapels. However, the people who’d been facing him had already seen with clarity the part of his chest that was revealed. The skin closest to his heart was thickly dotted with over a dozen hideous holes that varied in size.

Marks of the Hundred Holes curse!

And this definitely wasn’t a curse mark left behind by the curse. If that were to be the case, judging from how spread-out these holes were, right now Su She’s organs or even golden core should be covered in holes. He definitely wouldn’t be able to use his spiritual powers. However, he could still use the transportation talisman repetitively, which drained spiritual energy. Then there could only be one explanation for where these marks came from—they had to be marks left after he cursed someone else and received a backlash!

Back then, it wasn’t that Wei WuXian didn’t try his hardest to find whom the culprit was in attempt to rectify his name, but there were just too many people. On top of that, finding the culprit wouldn’t at all be able to sort out what happened afterward, and so he let go of the hope. Yet tonight, so long after the fruitless searching, it fell right into his lap!

Jin Ling didn’t understand. Nie HuaiSang probably didn’t understand either. But Lan XiChen had already looked to Jin GuangYao, “Sect Leader Jin, was this also part of the plan to attack Qiongqi Path?”

Jin GuangYao, “Why do you think so?”

Jiang Cheng’s was cold, “Is it necessary to ask? If Jin ZiXun weren’t cursed, nothing that happened afterwards would have to happen! The attack helped you remove Jin ZiXuan and Jin ZiXun, both of whom were of the same generation as you. It cleared away everything that obstructed your path to the LanlingJin Sect and the position of Chief Cultivator. Su She was behind the curse, and he’s a trusted subordinate of yours. Is it really necessary to ask whose orders he followed?!”

Jin GuangYao refused to answer, as though he was focused on meditation. Wei WuXian laughed out of rage, staring at Su She, “Have I done anything to you? I held no enmity towards you—I didn’t even know you!”

Jin GuangYao, “Young Master Wei, shouldn’t you be the one who knows this the most? Could you be safe just because you hold no enmity? How could that be? In this world, everyone began without enmity. Someone would eventually lunge with the first stab.”

Jiang Cheng’s voice was drenched in hatred, “You insidious scum!!!”

Yet, Su She smiled coldly, “Stop thinking so highly of yourself. Who told you I cursed Jin ZiXun in order to frame you? Back then, I wasn’t working for Sect Leader at all. I cursed him simply because I wanted to!”

Wei WuXian, “Then do you hold enmity towards Jin ZiXun?”

Su She, “Those as arrogant as him—I’ll kill every single one who comes my way!”

Wei WuXian knew that the ‘arrogant’ person he hated the most had to be Lan WangJi. He couldn’t help but ask, “What even happened between HanGuang-Jun and you? Just which part of him is arrogant?”

Su She, “Which part isn’t? If Lan WangJi weren’t born with such a good background, what right does he have to be so arrogant? Why do they always say I imitate him?! Everyone praises him for being so noble and pure—for a person like HanGuang-Jun to fool around and do such filthy deeds with the YiLing Patriarch whose immorality the entire world condemns? What a joke!”

Just as Wei WuXian was about to speak, he suddenly felt that the gloomy yet furious expression was somewhat familiar. He seemed to have seen it somewhere before.

He suddenly remembered, “It’s you!”

Caiyi Town, Biling Lake, the waterborn abyss, the sword that vanished underwater, and the Xuanwu of Slaughter, the disciple who pushed MianMian out—Su She!

All of a sudden, Wei WuXian burst out in laughter.

He said, “I understand now.”

Lan WangJi, “Understand what?”

Wei WuXian shook his head.

He knew what kind of person Jin ZiXun was. Back then, he often treated those from affiliated sects with disregard, thinking that they were the same as servants. He even thought that partaking in a banquet alongside them would be beneath his dignity. And as a part of one of the LanlingJin Sect’s affiliated sects, Su She must travel to Koi Tower once in a while to attend banquets, and it was impossible for him not to run into Jin ZiXun. One was intolerant and unforgiving, while the other was conceited and arrogant—if something bad happened between the two, it wouldn’t be strange at all for Su She to bear grudges on Jin ZiXun.

If so, the reason behind Jin ZiXun being cursed with a Hundred Holes had nothing to do with him. But in the end, he was the one who bore the charge.

The cause of the attack at the Qiongqi Path was that Jin ZiXun was cursed with a Hundred Holes. If this cause didn’t exist, the LanlingJin Sect would’ve had no reason to attack him, Wen Ning wouldn’t have lost control and gone on the rampage, Wei WuXian wouldn’t have had to be responsible for a life as heavy as Jin ZiXuan’s, and the things that happened later wouldn’t have had to happen.

Yet now, he finally realized even the reason behind culprit’s curse wasn’t to frame him. Even the cause didn’t have anything to do with him!

Such a fact was truly difficult to accept.

As he laughed, Wei WuXian’s eyes reddened. He mocked, whether at himself or otherwise, “I can’t believe it’s because of someone like you… because of such a ridiculous reason!”

But Jin GuangYao seemed like he knew what he thought, “Young Master Wei, you really shouldn’t think like this.”

Wei WuXian, “Oh? You know what I think?”

Jin GuangYao, “Of course. It’s quite easy. You’re definitely thinking about how unfortunate you are. In reality, you’re not. Even if Su She didn’t curse Jin ZiXun, Mr. Wei, you’d receive a siege sooner or later, because of some other reason.” He smiled, “Because that’s what kind of a person you are. At best, you’re the untamed hero; at worst, you offend people wherever you go. Unless all those whom you’ve offended lived their lives safely, as soon as something happened to them or someone did something to them, the first person they suspect would be you and the first person they seek revenge on would also you. And this is something you have no control over.”

Somehow, Wei WuXian smiled, “What should I do? For some reason, I think you make a lot of sense.”

Jin GuangYao, “And even if you didn’t lose control at the Qiongqi Path, could you guarantee you didn’t lose control sometime in the rest of your life? Thus, someone like you is destined to have a short life. You see? Doesn’t it feel a lot better if you think about it this way?”

Jiang Cheng raged, “You’re the one who’s got a fucking short life!”

With no regard to his heavy injuries, he grabbed Sandu and was ready to charge. Immediately, blood gushed out. Jin Ling hurried to press him back down. Unable to move, Jiang Cheng was full of resentment, cursing, “You son of a prostitute, who bears no shame as long as you can rise! You weren’t the one who told Su She to do it?! Who are you trying to fool?!”

Hearing the words ‘son of a prostitute’, Jin GuangYao’s smile froze for an instant.

He looked toward Jiang Cheng. After some thought, he began in a lukewarm tone, “Sect Leader Jiang, calm down a bit, won’t you? I understand what you’re feeling right now. You’re in such a terrible mood only because you know the truth behind your golden core. When you think back on what you did all these years, your proud heart feels a tinge of guilt, and so you’re anxious to find a culprit for what happened to Young Master Wei in his past life, a villain onto whom you can push all liability. Then, you’d lash out at him, both in vengeance for Young Master Wei and to ease some of your burden.

“If being determined that everything from the Hundred Holes curse to the attack at the Qiongqi Path was part of my singlehanded scheme would ease your troubles, then feel free to think whatever you please. But what you have to understand is that, for what happened to Young Master Wei in the end, you are responsible too and in fact, you are very much so. Why did so many people crusade against the YiLing Patriarch? Why did they shout their support, no matter if they were involved or not? Why was he one-sidedly condemned by so many? Was it really their sense of justice? Of course not. A part of the reason is you.”

Jiang Cheng laughed coldly. Lan XiChen knew Jin GuangYao was going to start calling white black again. He shouted in a hushed voice, “Sect Leader Jin!”

Jin GuangYao wasn’t swayed, continuing with a smile, “… Back then, the LanlingJin Sect, the QingheNie Sect, and the GusuLan Sect had already finished fighting over the biggest share. The rest could only get some small shrimps. You, on the other hand, had just rebuilt Lotus Pier and behind you was the YiLing Patriarch, Wei WuXian, the danger of whom was immeasurable. Do you think the other sects would like to see a young sect leader who was so advantaged? Luckily, you didn’t seem to be on good terms with your shixiong, and since everyone thought there was an opportunity, of course they’d add fuels to your fire if they could. No matter what, to weaken the YunmengJiang Sect was to strengthen themselves. Sect Leader Jiang, if only your attitude towards your shixiong was just a bit better, showing everyone that your bond was too strong to be broken for them to have a chance, or if you exhibited just a bit more tolerance after what happened, things wouldn’t have become what they were. Oh, speaking of it, you were also a main force of the siege at Burial Mound…”

Wei WuXian, “Looks like being called the son of a prostitute is really Sect Leader Jin’s weak spot. No wonder you killed ChiFeng-Zun.”

With the mention of Nie MingJue, Lan XiChen’s expression changed. Jin GuangYao’s smile paused as well. Immediately afterwards, he stood up.

Now that he finished meditating, he tried the fingers of his left hand to find that they were finally able to move properly. He spoke at once, “Prepare to depart.”

Su She, “Yes!”

Two monks held Lan XiChen, one on each side. Just as they were about to open the doors, Jin GuangYao suddenly spoke, “I almost forgot.”He turned to Lan XiChen, “Now that I think of it, ZeWu-Jun’s sealed spiritual pathways should be restored soon.”

Lan XiChen’s cultivation was much higher than his. For Jin GuangYao to seal his spiritual pathways, he had to seal them once every two hours, or else Lan XiChen would be fight out of the seal on his own. He walked towards Lan XiChen, “Excuse me.”

Just as he was about to reach out, something white and heavy suddenly plummeted to the ground before him. Alert, Jin GuangYao crossed over it. As his eyes focused, he saw that it was a pale body!

A completely bare woman crawled on the ground, face-down, twisting her body and limbs as though she wanted to go in the direction of Jin GuangYao. Su She lunged with his sword. The woman screamed, and fire erupted around her. She stood up, staggering as she reached out at Jin GuangYao again. Both her body and her face were burned black amid the flames, but the extreme hatred in her eyes remained. With another lunge, Su She slashed across her body, causing her to evaporate. Before Jin GuangYao could walk a few steps back, he tripped over something, turning around only to find two entangled bodies. One of them grabbed his ankle. At this point, a whistle came from behind. Su She seethed, “Wei WuXian!”

Without anyone realizing, the Guanyin statue in the temple was painted with many jumbled bloody talismans.

The eye of the array was right inside of the Guanyin Temple. And now, since it had already been destroyed by Wei WuXian without anyone noticing, those that were sealed inside now surged out incessantly!

Suddenly, Jin Ling cried, “What is this?”

Jiang Cheng kept on using his hands to slap Jin Ling robes. The hems of his clothes had already begun to burn, all on its own. Jin Ling was already relatively fine. A few monks were already surrounded by flames, rolling on the ground screaming. Su She and Jin GuangYao knew they had to wipe off the blood Wei WuXian painted over the Guanyin statue, but they were obstructed by the cultivators rolling on the ground and the naked ghouls that kept on appearing. Under Wei WuXian’s command, the ghouls didn’t attack Jiang Cheng, Jin Ling, and the rest, but Jin Ling still crossed Suihua before himself, “What in the world are these things? I’ve never seen such…”

Such naked, shameless ghouls!

Rage burst from Jin GuangYao’s eyes. With one strike, fire exploded. He finally reached the Guanyin Statue. Just as he was about to wipe at the talismans that Wei WuXian painted, he suddenly felt something cold at the back of his waist.

Lan XiChen’s low voice sounded, “Do not move.”

Jin GuangYao was about to counter the attack when Lan XiChen struck once on his back. Jin GuangYao, “ZeWu-Jun… your spiritual powers are back.”

Before Lan XiChen could answer, on the other side, Su She’s sword, Nanping, had already thrusted toward Wei WuXian. However, it came into contact with a sword the glare of which seemed similar but the glow of which was much more crystalline.

Bichen!

As the two swords hit, Nanping snapped into two!

Right then, Su She’s palm tore. Blood dripped everywhere. All of the joints in his arm cracked. The sword felt to the ground, and he held his right arm with his left, face as pale as ash. On the other hand, Lan WangJi gripped Bichen in one hand as he grabbed Wei WuXian’s waist with his other, pushing Wei WuXian behind him for better protection. In reality, Wei WuXian had no need for his protection, but he still leaned against his body with both comfort and compliance.

All of these happened in just a few seconds. After a few blinks, the LanlingJin Sect’s cultivators finally realized what happened. Yet, Su She still held his bleeding right arm. The wound at his chest had already opened up. Bichen’s blade was right against Jin GuangYao’s throat.

Now that their main pillars were restricted, none of them dared do anything too rashly.

Just as Lan XiChen was about to speak, the expressions of everyone within the Guanyin Temple changed. Lan XiChen, “Young Master Wei, please… remove these things first.”

Not only were these ghouls naked and filthy, they were even letting out embarrassing moans, making it rather clear what they were doing. Nobody had seen such indecent ghouls before. Lan XiChen turned his head to the side, Jiang Cheng’s face was dark, while Jin Ling was between pale and flushed. Wei WuXian glanced at Lan WangJi, who stood beside him. He thought it’d be a bit too unreasonable to make someone who responded to pornography with extreme embarrassed rage when he was young view such a thing. He protested, “I only wanted to let out the ghouls he sealed at the Guanyin Temple so that we could delay them for as long as possible. I never thought I’d let out these things…”

Like Lan XiChen, Lan WangJi retracted his gaze after taking only one look at those ghouls. Turning to another direction, he said two words, “A fire.”

Wei WuXian nodded immediately, continuing in all seriousness, “Yes. All of these ghouls were burned to death. It looks like a big fire once erupted here, burning quite a lot of people to death. And afterwards, to hide everything as well as to seal away these ghouls who formed because of their deaths, Sect Leader Jin decided to build a Guanyin Temple here.”

Lan XiChen, “Sect Leader Jin, is the fire related to you?”

Jiang Cheng’s voice was cold, “Those ghouls abhor him. Is it possible that it isn’t?”

  1. JGY makes a lot of sense when explaining the psyche of JC

I think JC’s inferiority complex cause a rift between him and WWX. Other sects used this opportunity to bring WWX down by fueling hatred in JC.

    1. I totally agree with you….JC always blame WWX for every loss that he faced…but he never consider his own mistake for which WWX nd his sister had to suffer…for the lack of support from JC WWX’S life ended in that cruel way…
JYL(sister of WWX) always support nd protect WWX that is the reason why JZX at last accept JC nd WWX as his friend even JYL’s mother in law also respect WWX in some extend just because of JYL…….

    2. With Wuxian, YunmengJiang clan was so powerful but the rift between JC and Wuxian was just too big because of JC’s insecurity.

If he took Wuxian’s side nobody would have cared to go against his clan. But no he had to let people take advantage of his insecurity….

  2. “On the other hand, Lan WangJi gripped Bichen in one hand as he grabbed Wei WuXian’s waist with his other, pushing Wei WuXian behind him for better protection.”

Why is it that at midnight wherein everyone is asleep, I’m suddenly able to do whistle notes, a skill unlocked yes, but in these circumstances, I prefer the scream w no sound

  3. To be honest JGY make sense what he said if only JC showed mercy to WWX when he protected those Wen family if only JC didn’t easily announce that WWX is expell from the sect if only he showed that hes really in good relationships with WwX those people that eying the Jian clan did not have the chance to discord there relationship but JC is insecure and wary of WWX because of hes mother always comparing them since young that WWX is better than him so when the people that have bad intentions to Jiang clan fan the fire JC was easily swayed and announce expelling WWX from the sect that lead them to be apart

    1. I don’t know if you read that chapter in detail, but WWX and JC arranged to make a show of JC expelling WWX so that the fragile Jiang sect would not have to face the wrath of the other sects for allying with a demonic cultivator. And JC did not actually want this. After that WWX was on his own, and the Wens STILL surrendered to the Jins. He didn’t really accomplish any of his objectives but he did kind of bring ruin on himself.

      1. It was pretty clear from that scene the wwx did not really want to leave the Jiang sect, but chose to do so out of obligation to protect them from his actions. If JC had noticed that instead of feeling abandoned he could have kept wwx with him and protected him.

There’s huge amounts of miscommunication and hurt feelings on both sides.

      2. JC, who is less talented, protect WY? Don’t make me laugh. Neither side wanted WY to leave but you can’t have your cake and eat it too. JC was perceived as WY’s puppet , and he was already blamed for “letting WY” get out of hand to challenge the status quo. So he made the feasible decision to let him go. The other sects would crush the Jiang sect alongside WY if he let him stay. That would be real double whammy, wouldn’t it? I’m sure his parents wouldn’t be too proud of that either if they knew.

      3. Jiang Cheng is a sect leader and a powerful cultivator in his own right. He literally said to WY if he leaves, he leaves the protection of the Jiang Sect. Don’t forget that JC is in a powerful position in society, he runs one of the freat sect. Also, at that stage nobody was stronger than WWX except perhaps LWJ. ‘Less talented’ does not mean ‘useless’.

My point is that if they both admitted they wanted to stay together and help each other, WY would not have been in such a vulnerable position, and the other sects would not have had as much leeway to persecute him. Jin Zixun could not have ambushed him without offending the Jiang Sect. I;m not saying everything would have been perfect, but there were ways to work around it before WY backed himself into a corner.

      4. I never said that he was useless. But at that point in time, JC was not that powerful in cultivation or skilled in politics. His sect was not recruited in full strength. Everyone knew this. He was head and shoulders below in seniority and authority compared to all of the other sect leaders. This is evidenced by the fact that JGS and NMJ constantly belittled him, challenged his capabilities, and dismissed his opinions. Not even LXC came to his aid. WY left because he knew that many of his past transgressions were being blamed on JC and he didn’t want JC to have that baggage. So JC let him go since it was pragmatic to do so. They chose their priorities over each other. It is what it is.

      5. And even if they’d stayed together, JGS would not be above killing JC first in one way or another if it mean’t consolidating/expanding his own power and using JC’s death to demoralize WWX. Then, I ask you, how would WWX feel? Probably even worse than the death of JYL because 1.) he gave up his golden core to JC for nothing and 2.) The last legitimate embodiment of the Jiang sect is dead. It would not have worked out either way.

    2. well i think you cannot blame JC’s mother because as i remember at the time of lotus pier destruction by the wen clan.. she clearly shown that however she want to treat WWX she can but she won’t let an outsider to harm him before him..
And madam Zu also knew that wwx is very much capable of doing good n great things in cultivation as well as in life…And he never harm or betray jiang family that’s why she given the responsibility to stick together with JC and A-Ling.
      .
and i completely agree with JGY words..JC is a big reason for WWX downfall…..and this started after the end of sunshot campaign as we all know most of the cultivates consider WWX as a servent not even as a subordinate so he dnt have any right to ask or demand about anything/anyone.ok then bt as we knw JC also played a major role in Sunshot campain most of the clan praised too then why didn’t Jc stand before WWX and he himself demanded for wen Ning and wen Qing.
      .
in other i would say like WWX given JC his golden core then wen-siblings given JC a new life and most importantly they helped to made yunmengJiang Clan, madam-zu and jiang fenmeng name still alive by keeping JC alive otherwise jiang clans name was buried inside earth with in a night by wen clan
      .
      .
.I Dont know if any one is gonna read this and share words about wt I’m thinking is some how right or not…
      .
.so the thing is …can any one tell me…
JC lost her sis and her sis lost his husband both bcz of wwx … bt y did jC almost killed wwx after loosing his sis ..bt why her sis didn’t blamed his A-Xian for the death of Jin-Zixuan… bcz about she trust Wwx and knows him very well..she knws tht he’ll not never ever destroy the happiness of his loving n carring family in his entire life.evenafter died ..she knws if wwx is at fault then there must be smthg which is in dark or there must be some misunderstanding..
and also how his sister taken stand for WWX infront of eveyone back in phoneix montain hunt …,, If..only if JC has mustered all his courage and atleast only for once tooked stand for WWX infront of eveyone … then Wwx. night have not meeted that worst end.😣😢😢😢😢

      1. I blame Madam Yu for how JC have this inferiority complex. And how she abuse Wei Ying on her end. The destruction of Lotus pier was entirely her fault when she angered WC woman by slapping her. Lets not forget that Wei Ying was willing to give up an arm to save Lotus Pier. In the end, Madam Yu pride lead to the destruction of Lotus Pier, not Wei Ying.

  4. What to do I totally agree with JGY that if only JC is much nicer to WWX theres no chance that the other people make this an excuse to fuel the fire within JC heart if on JC protected WWX well and not expell WWX the first he learned that WWX went to protect those Wen remnants. My heart hurt when JC said to Weiying that he cant protect him if Weiying still protect those wen people I think WWX is more disappointed and heart broken when he heard this from JC JC so he said to JC that if he cant protect him give him up 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

    1. Yes this, what JC showed Wei Ying is that “if you want to protect these Wen’s, then I can’t protect you anymore”, so in the end, it leads to Wei Ying suggest that he defected the YMJ sect to protect JC and YMJ, because Wei Ying can’t just leave these innocent Wen’s on his end. It was a SELFLESS decision from Wei Ying, but I’m sure it hurts Wei Ying to be outcasted like this since he sees Lotus Pier as his home. If only JC share that same moral as Wei Ying, and work together, then things wouldn’t have turned out to be like that. What JGY said about JC makes sense….It really doesn’t have to be that way if JC can show to everyone that Wei Ying is and will always be part of YMJ sect, so if you hurt him than you’ll have to go through me first.

The difference between how JC treats WY is different to how he treats Jin Ling or Yanli. Because he consider the latter his family and will never outcast them since they’re family but Wei Ying is a different story and I think that’s sad, really…..if JC care for Wei Ying like a family than he would show others differently and wouldn’t have come to that decision in the end.

    2. I absolutely agree, I just want to spoke up my pov,I think WWX suggest JC to announce that he defected the Yunmeng Jiāng sect is the way he protect JC at the first place, so JC won’t face much difficulties in front of those sect leaders, that’s because he is so selfless and he couldn’t gave up the Wen remnants

  5. Not JGY dragging JC for filth and spittin truth about WWX being the world’s scapegoat. It really took the villain to do it. This is so sad.

Khhhh I know Su She’s embarrassed at his instant defeat. As he should be.

I just realized that everyone there sans Su She is family 😭 this is awkward.

  6. I laugh every time JC’s voice is described as “cold”. It kinda goes without saying at this point, lol. But I suppose it makes it harder to figure out if there will be a reconciliation coming.

    Thanks so much for translating!

  7. How I wish I could slap and publicly humiliate JC mom so much!! Literally, EVERYTHING unfortunate (for the most part) that has happened to WWX and JC is because of her!! If not for her, JC wouldn’t have such a bad inferiority complex and such deep hatred for WWX! WWX wouldn’t think that he is at fault for all the misfortunes that have happened to him! It’s because of these two factors, that they’ve had such bad communication, and so much hostility between them. Because of her emotional abuse, she created a wedge between them so bad it ignited not only a massacre on WWXs side, but also causing him inevitably to kill his shijie and her husband. I’m sorry, no matter how satisfying it was seeing her beat the shit of the prostitute lady before she died, she was a horrible mother, and a horrible lover. Because of her Jiang Cheng developed such a bitter and toxic attitude towards WWX. I have little sympathy for Jiang Cheng after WWXs reincarnation, because even though now he has apologised, he still holds the belief that it’s all WWXs fault! That everything would’ve been fine if it wasn’t for him! At least when he was younger (and going through a lot worse as well, enough for his disgusting actions to, although not be excused, be understandable) he understood that the wen clan would’ve burned down lotus pier anyway! As grew though, he became a bitter, violent fool who placed all of his misfortunes, and thus all of his anger, on WWX!!! He even tried to pass on his toxic attitude to Jin ling! (Luckily, being shijie’s son, his blood refuses to blindly hate people). Jiang Cheng really did inherit all the worst traits of his mother and none of the good traits of his father, whilst shijie was the opposite. Jiang Cheng is bitter and blind just like his mother, and although it is not his fault, due to her disgusting emotional abuse, he is an adult now!! Yet Jin ling, more than half his age, is more mature than him! I’m sorry. But… The apple really doesn’t fall too far from the tree, does it? I guess it just depend which of the two trees it’s falling from. Jiang Cheng was unfortunate in that he had to fall from the worst of the two.

    1. I think JC’s dad is more to blame. His mother has always been proud and was constantly humiliated because her husband could never truly accept her over WWX’s mother. I felt if he was kinder to Madam Yu and treated his son with a bit more love, it would have given JC more confidence. He always lacked confidence when it came to his dad and WWX. Madam Yu just barked and had her pride. As for JC’s dad, he was spineless. Only good thing he ever did was save WWX.

      1. No, Madam Yu is the one to be blamed most of all. JFM is spineless? Well what do you want him to do? If he steps in, Madam Yu and him will argue. Whenever they have a discussion it ends in argument because you know why? It is not because JFM doesn’t want to reach out to her but when he did, she is being closeminded and ends up arguing and doesn’t see things rationally.

When JFM wants to teach JC the right way about how YMJ sect should be so he could learn the right way, Madam Yu steps in and starts comparing and make it awkward!

If she is more like Yanli, than I’m sure the Jiang family will have a healthy and loving environment to grow up in. Wei Ying doesn’t deserve to be abused like that! If you think he does, then you need to get your morals straight!

Madam Yu is toxic and abusive. SHE was ultimately the caused to Lotus Pier destruction when she let her pride got the better of her by slapping and angering WC woman. Wei Ying was willing to give up an arm to save Lotus Pier. Yet, what did she do afterwards? She blames Wei Ying for Lotus Pier destruction instead of taking responsibility of her actions and see that she was the caused of all this. Yes, she saved Wei Ying too, but her last words to Wei Ying was blaming him and asking him to protect JC with his life, NOT a loving parental figure. Proving once again and reminding Wei Ying that his position in YMJ is a servant and always will be!

JFM didnt cheated on Madam Yu like JGS, so Madam Yu should be happy that he at least is faithful to her by not being promiscuous… she had it lucky….look at her best friend (Jin Zixuan mother), who had it worst but she’s better than Madam Yu at least. If you think Madam Yu isn’t wrong than you seriously need to get your morals checked.

  8. I actually agree with JGY on the point that Jiang Cheng played a major role in what happened to wwx. If only he had shown a bit of support things would have turned out differently.

  9. We’ll I guess finally Jiang Cheng Learn/knows what loyalty is … what if.. but nothing can change the past. If only you would have shown some loyalty to your brother.. but you selfish silly persone. I’m happy that JGY told him cuz it totally make sense what he said if only JC showed mercy to WWX when he protected those Wen family things would have been totally different! I dont hate you JC but it is something very difficult!

  11. is lwj cultivation higher than LXC? his spiritual power was seal after LXC yet they both get their spiritual energy at the same time, I always thought they were equals but in a way it makes sense, lxc has to deal with political things therefore less time to train, lwj is more free to do as he please

and JGY make so much points this chapter! if JC was closer to WWX no one outsided could separate them, especially if they added JYL to the mjix, to bad she was kept in the dark for so many things, the moment she found out about a-yuan or granny she would push to protect them, I mean she was the Madame of the Jin clan! and JZX was heads over hills for her, ahhh so many things could have been better if they only talk.

With the mention of Nie MingJue, Lan XiChen’s expression changed. Jin GuangYao’s smile paused as well.

my nielan heart! hope they get a better ending in another life

  12. “Wei WuXian had no need for his protection, but he still leaned against his body with both comfort and compliance…”
I melted every time that I read things like this 😍😍, it’s only me?

  13. Tbh, JGY was very very right and all the people disliking comments like this need to stop. It doesn’t matter if WWX and JC agreed in private. In PUBLIC (which actually mattered), JC was useless. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. His cowardice and low self-esteem was a catalyst for WWX’s problems. Also, yes, we can blame JC’s mum. She’s the cause of his low self-esteem, always comparing the two and making JC feel inferior.

    1. So was it JC who told WWX to draw the attention from the Wens in the cave and let him lose control of Wen Ning and kill Jin Zixuan? No. The author has said that WWX largely owns his own demise.

      1. JC saw mianmian and lwj speaking in favor of wwx after wwx took the wens away in that conference, what did he say to wwx? ‘No one has your back’, he wanted wwx to believe he was alone, and guess what? Wwx did. wwx then said that he could tell everyone he quit the Jiang sect so the Jiang’s werent involved and blamed for wwx actions, what did jc told the sect leaders? ‘Wwx is planning a rebellion’ JC may not pulled the trigger but he was partially responsible for what the sect leaders thought about wwx. jc SAW the living conditions of the wens, and he couldn’t say ‘well they are common people not cultivators theres even a child there!’ yet he said nothing and let them kill wwx and the wens for something they didnt do, hmm no, he LEAD a siege against him, even JGY said he was the strongest force that day that even rumors say wwx was killed by him

Wwx lost control cause he was pushed to do so, he didnt want to take over the cultivation world, not excusing him for his actions of course, wwx wanted to live a simple life, that he could’ve handle things better? Of course. That he actively seek for that terrible outcome? That’s not true. If anything jc seems to be the one wanting wwx death lmao if how he deal with wwx in his past life AND his new life is anything to go by but you ain’t ready for that conversation yet. Moral ambiguity exists in this novel, heavily, wwx may own part of his downfall, but not all of it

MXTX has a way of writing ‘show dont tell’ you should investigate how that works and you will understand her novels even more.

      2. Stop trying to change what the author said on her work. What JC meant when he told WWX that was that society is not inclined to see him as the hero he wants to be and will punish him for it. If JC wanted WWX to die, why did he tell WWX that he wouldn’t be able to protect him if he left the Jiang sect? Because he wanted to WWX to live and not be a target. And MXTX literally said on her own blog that WWX is MOSTLY responsible for his crimes in the Bloodbath and killing Jin Zixuan, even if it was an accident because he ultimately made the final decision. He had good intentions but he became a villain in the eyes of others by doing that. You cannot still blame the entire world just because they went against him and he was not the only one at fault.

      3. I agree with what you said here. Wei Ying didn’t do anything wrong if he wants to protect those innocent Wen’s. What’s wrong is JC, despite knowing how WQ and WN once helped him, yet he turned his back on them like it didnt matter to him. His actions did lead to Wei Ying being the scape goat to the entire cultivation world because he said that Wei Ying have defected the YMJ sect and from now on whatever Wei Ying does, doesn’t concern him/sect. He showed everyone publicly that Wei Ying is all alone and have no support from YMJ sect

The difference between Yanli and JC is, Yanli would NEVER say that to the entire cultivation world that Wei Ying is no longer part of their sect, instead she would speak up and protect Wei Ying and said he’s a family to her. But JC is different.

People need to stop, since what JGY said about JC made sense, he played a major role in Wei Ying downfall because he didnt show the support and show others their unbreakable bond, he let his inferiority complex got the better of him, and yes, I entirely blame Madam Yu for this.

And if you think what Wei Ying did by taking in those Wens is wrong than morally, you are not any different than those sects who claim themselves as “righteous” but nothing more than a hypocrite for attacking innocent people or turning your back on those who needs your help!

MXTX would not have thrown in what JGY said if it doesn’t hold some truth to it lol..

  14. I mean, wheres the lie though with what JGY said…

Wei WuXian, “Looks like being called the son of a prostitute is really Sect Leader Jin’s weak spot. No wonder you killed ChiFeng-Zun.”….
Damn he sure knows to hit where it hurts…. The burn though 😂😂😂

  15. JC should’ve fucking stood up for WY and that’s it. WY was going out of his way to save JC’s saviour but JC felt no remorse turning his back on his brother and his saviours? If jealousy can make you so dishonourable then it’s just sad.

JC should’ve fought for WY’s case and brought him and the innocent Wen people to Yunmeng. Jiang Chang the Wen siblings saved your fucking life! How can you be so cold? They risked their lives to save yours but you at an advantageous position wouldn’t help them?
