I really love how subtle the autor portrays the melancholy of this chapter. The meeting with Lan WangJi and the flashback all serve to show how much Wei Wuxian wants to pretend a normalcy that doesn’t exist anymore. And the lines about the former disciples and servants that were not respectful to WWX, but an important part of his life, were honestly heartbeaking, especially because they were so laconic.

I know the girls were ghosts but I still think the scene with them throwing flowers at Lan Wangji was pretty cute.
It was interesting to see how Jiang Cheng, Yanli, and Wei Wuxian were like when they first met.
