Chapter 65: Sharing the Battle Stage

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Yun Yingzhi thought there was no way he could appear on the battle stage with the two Little Buns. Didn’t he have any shame? He thought this to himself, but… at that moment, he really wished he could shove the two Little Buns back inside him—pure social death. Because of the sudden way they had arrived at the Yaoming Battle Arena, Yun Yingzhi hadn’t had time to do any disguise.

The Little Buns, though still very small, were incredibly strong-willed. Realizing Yun Yingzhi couldn’t instantly understand their “da”s and hopping gestures like Yun Yinghui did, they resorted to a straightforward and forceful method: they made him follow their directions, no arguments allowed.

The little kit nudged the little egg. Immediately, little egg activated his spatial ability and teleported Yun Yingzhi directly onto a battle stage mid-fight. By coincidence, it was a 3v3 arena. Instantly, Yun Yingzhi and the two Little Buns became the center of everyone’s attention.

The stage was enormous. The ultimate social death stage. The little kit happily climbed onto Yun Yingzhi’s shoulder, one tiny foot resting, the other circling twice. The little egg emitted joyful little bubbles and spun around on Yun Yingzhi’s other shoulder.

The six fighters still engaged in combat, along with the referees, all turned their gaze to Yun Yingzhi. Time seemed to freeze, and the arena fell completely silent.

Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid twitched uncontrollably. In a moment of panic, he reached out, grabbed a Little Bun in each hand, and shouted, “S-sorry! We didn’t mean to!” With that, he fled the stage, Little Buns in tow.

The fighters on stage and the audience below all followed their gaze. Wherever Yun Yingzhi went, so did everyone’s eyes. Since the Yaoming Battle Arena was built, nothing like this had ever happened. For a moment, people couldn’t comprehend what had just occurred.

Little kit, held tightly in Yun Yingzhi’s hand, let out a puzzled “da.” Small body, but the sound carried far. In the suddenly silent arena, it stood out clearly, and the stunned crowd slowly regained their senses.

“Is that the powerhouse?”

“And little Jiaojiao and Taotao?”

“How did they suddenly appear on the battle stage?”

Some in the audience instinctively stood up, ready to follow Yun Yingzhi. For most, coming to the Yaoming Battle Arena was simple. But to see Yun Yingzhi with the two Little Buns here, in such a public place, was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

But Yun Yingzhi was even faster than them. He escaped the arena safely. The audience exchanged excited chatter.

“The powerhouse looks so panicked!”

“Why did he suddenly appear on the stage?”

“It must be Taotao! The big playboy doesn’t have spatial esper, but Taotao does.” A pause, then, “And look at Yun Yingzhi’s panicked expression. Remember the last time he was exposed? He always wears a hat and mask in public. But today he’s completely exposed—he must’ve been forced here by little Taotao and brought straight onto the stage!”

The crowd: “…” That logic made perfect sense.

Technically, this behavior was extremely rude. But often, little ones were uncontrollable, especially ones with strong esper powers. Was the little egg at fault?

Someone in the crowd said, “Taotao is still an unhatched Little Bun! What does he even understand?”

Usually, in cases like this, the adult would be blamed. Another voice added, “Taotao is just an egg! He doesn’t understand instructions. How could an adult discipline him?”

“Yeah, the big playboy is just a pretty little rabbit with no real power!”

“Come on, let’s go see Jiaojiao and Taotao!”

Little egg’s first spatial esper jump with Yun Yingzhi had already captured countless hearts. People ran outside, asking about Yun Yingzhi and the Little Buns.

Meanwhile, Yun Yingzhi had brought the Little Buns out of the arena and began lecturing them.

“Jiaojiao, you can’t always be teaching Taotao bad things.” His gaze shifted to the little egg. “Taotao, Daddy knows you have a spatial ability, but you can’t use it recklessly. If you misuse it, not only could it disturb others, what if you put yourself in danger?”

At this moment, the two Little Buns, still angry with Yun Yingzhi, displayed unprecedented unity. They simultaneously wriggled free from his hands and dove into his clothing. The little egg nestled into the little kit’s embrace, and the two hugged each other, completely still.

But…that didn’t stop the little kit from quietly communicating with the little egg. Soon after, they reached an unspoken agreement. Another wave of spatial fluctuation enveloped the trio, and little egg transported them again. Once again, the little egg delivered them precisely onto the battle stage.

Yun Yingzhi’s eyelid twitched violently. He didn’t know whether the little egg was intentionally controlling things or if it was all coincidence. This time, the destination was a 25v25 stage. Most of it was an active combat zone, with esper effects covering large sections, yet little egg delivered them to the safest edge of the arena.

The teleportation succeeded. The two Little Buns excitedly popped out of Yun Yingzhi’s clothing, one claiming each shoulder, happily emitting bubbles as they spun around. The fifty esper soldiers and referees on stage, along with the audience, all turned to Yun Yingzhi.

Even worse for Yun Yingzhi, cameras and projectors around the arena zoomed in on him, broadcasting a perfect close-up. The little kit wrapped one tiny paw around Yun Yingzhi’s cheek, pressing his small face against him, while the other paw pointed toward the now-stopped combatants.

No explanation was necessary—an esper soldier immediately understood the little kit’s meaning: “Red Peony Beauty, Jiaojiao wants you to join us in the battle.”

Yun Yingzhi: “…” Join? Absolutely not!

Because of his sudden arrival, the ongoing battle had temporarily halted, leaving the stage safe. The little egg once again used his spatial ability to transport them. Projectors from all directions captured Yun Yingzhi’s stunned, dazed expression and broadcast it live.

Moments later, little egg placed Yun Yingzhi—still reeling from the previous blows delivered by Across the Starry Seas—right in the center of the two large teams. The little kit squeaked excitedly, “Da da da!”

Someone in the crowd said, “I have to say, these two battle kids really live up to being the offspring of the Red Peony Beauty, huh?”

Hearing this, Yun Yingzhi snapped back to reality. His cheeks and neck, every patch of exposed skin, flushed bright red. He looked like a freshly boiled lobster. He grabbed the two Little Buns off his shoulders and sincerely apologized to everyone present:

“Sorry! If anything got damaged, please make sure to contact me—or my brother! We’ll compensate for all losses. Truly, I’m very, very sorry!” After speaking, Yun Yingzhi bolted with the two Little Buns in tow.

This time, the spectators who had anticipated the chaos followed Yun Yingzhi at full speed, finally getting a firsthand look at just how mischievous the Little Buns really were. Once Yun Yingzhi realized he couldn’t dodge all the people following them, he finally gave up.

He held the two Little Buns firmly and began another round of scolding. The little kit drooped his ears, looking completely dejected. Many onlookers’ hearts ached at the sight of such a tiny, sorrowful little creature. Even though they had battle instincts, they were still newborn little kids!

Then, everyone watched as little egg, reckless as ever, activated his spatial ability for the third time, teleporting Yun Yingzhi and little kit again—right onto the battle stage in the middle of an ongoing fight. If little kit’s first and second jumps had been accidents, this third precise teleport clearly proved that little egg was reacting to the source wave fluctuations. Wherever there was a battle, he was taking Daddy and his brother straight there.

After sincerely apologizing again to the esper soldiers on the stage and the audience below, Yun Yingzhi fled with the Little Buns. He sniffled and opened the video communication app. On the other end was Yun Yinghui.

To make sure the Little Buns could see Yun Yinghui, Yun Yingzhi had no choice but to leave the video in open mode.

The moment the connection was established, little kit’s tears fell uncontrollably. Choking back a sob, he cried, “Da… da… da… QAQ!”

Yun Yingzhi twitched his mouth and looked down at the little kit in his hands. Little kit’s ears drooped, his entire little body looking utterly wronged and pitiful.

Yun Yinghui cooed, “Jiaojiao, be good. Your uncle will be there soon. Don’t cry, okay?” He comforted the little kit and then looked at the little egg, giving him gentle reassurance as well.

Yun Yingzhi’s eyelids twitched violently—he felt like he was the one who needed comforting! Yun Yinghui, having reassured both Little Buns, then cast a worried, tender glance at Yun Yingzhi. Yun Yingzhi felt the concern in Yun Yinghui’s eyes, his nose prickling, his body trembling slightly, looking especially fragile and pitiful.

The trio—one big, two small—looked utterly helpless at that moment.

Yun Yinghui asked, “Zhizhi, what happened?”

Yun Yingzhi jiggled the little egg in his right hand and accused, “Taotao… Taotao keeps bringing me and Jiaojiao to the arena!”

The little egg pretended to be a withdrawn egg, giving no response. The little kit, “Da.”

Yun Yinghui paused, then said, “Zhizhi, Jiaojiao and Taotao just want to be with you.”

Yun Yingzhi, “Ah?”

Yun Yinghui added, “They think the arena is a very fun place, so they want to share it with you.”

Yun Yingzhi looked at the two Little Buns, sniffled, and said, “Well, I really appreciate that you want to share it with me.”

The little kit, “Da.” The little egg wriggled from Yun Yingzhi’s hand into his clothing, rubbing his shell against him.

Yun Yinghui said, “Zhizhi, if you promise Jiaojiao and Taotao that you’ll fight with them, they shouldn’t forcibly drag you onto the arena again.”

Almost instantly, the little kit’s drooped ears perked up. Yun Yingzhi watched this, his eyelids twitching violently. After a brief pause, he quietly responded, “Okay.”

The two Little Buns immediately sprouted tiny happy flower bubbles all around them. The little kit wriggled free from Yun Yingzhi’s hand, shook off his fur, climbed onto Yun Yingzhi’s shoulder, and affectionately kissed his cheek. Yun Yinghui added, “I’ll go with Lord Elvis as well.”

Yun Yingzhi, “Okay.”

The call ended. From every direction, all eyes were on Yun Yingzhi and the two Little Buns. Yun Yingzhi felt like digging a hole with his toes. Life had never felt so hard. After the social death incidents of the past few days, he had tried to keep a low profile. But he had to admit, the Little Buns’ presence was overwhelming.

People’s memories were short. Given time, they would forget the past—but… At this rate, everyone’s memory would only reinforce itself. These Little Buns, born from Lord Elvis, had never been quiet for a moment. To stop further chaos, Yun Yingzhi had no choice but to lead them into battle. Yun Yingzhi had his own 3v3 team.

To protect his last identity, he told his teammates he was leaving the original team, contacted Yun Yinghui, and, through him, changed the team name from “The Mighty Little White Bunny” to his real name, Yun Yingzhi.

Yun Yingzhi thought that as long as he remained bold, no one except Yun Yinghui could uncover his identity… maybe? What Yun Yingzhi didn’t know was that Nangong Qing and the others had also heard about the Little Buns’ mischief.

The Stellar Network was already abuzz, and the topic quickly trended. According to online chatter, these two mischievous Little Buns didn’t realize how fragile their Daddy was and had repeatedly forced him onto the battle stage.

Nangong Qing and others wondered if Yun Yingzhi would really fight on stage with them. And if so, could they become teammates with Yun Yingzhi and the Little Buns? Yun Yinghui counted, excluding himself and Elvis—already ten friends had come to inquire. If this continued, they could form a full 25-person team.

Yun Yinghui gave no definitive answer. But that didn’t stop his friends from rushing to the Yaoming Battle Arena. One by one, prominent young geniuses from the Empire donned hats and masks and rushed at full speed toward the arena.

Yun Yingzhi successfully joined Yun Yinghui’s team and queued for battle with the two Little Buns. The system worked efficiently, and soon the queue results appeared. Yun Yingzhi, with the two Little Buns, entered the waiting room.

The two Little Buns spun around excitedly—especially the little kit. He spun exactly like the old Cute Little Battle Rabbit had once done. Yun Yingzhi sniffled, watching the two exuberant battle kids, feeling completely overwhelmed inside.

Before long, the path from the waiting room to the arena was opened. The Little Buns were very familiar with this glass passage. Though small, having followed Yun Yinghui for a while, they had plenty of experience navigating it.

Little kit tapped Yun Yingzhi—who probably hadn’t seen much of the world—pointing toward the glass passage, signaling that they could go through it. Little egg, who had spent the entire day unwilling to leave Yun Yingzhi’s side, finally rolled off his body. He hopped onto the ground and motioned for Yun Yingzhi to follow.

The little kit also climbed down from Yun Yingzhi’s shoulder and moved to his rear. The formation looked like this: At the front was the youngest, little egg; in the middle, the eldest, Yun Yingzhi; and at the very back, tiny little kit.

Yun Yingzhi was flanked and protected in the middle by the two Little Buns. The little egg spun halfway, hopped twice, and the little kit at the rear let out a sharp “da!”

Yun Yingzhi subtly felt that the two Little Buns were saying, “Daddy, don’t be afraid! Jiaojiao and Taotao will protect you!”

He wasn’t sure if he was imagining it—but it didn’t stop him from feeling grateful. “Thanks for being such good little bodyguards for your Daddy,” he murmured.

The Little Buns looked especially proud. The trio—big and two small—walked down the glass passage and successfully entered the arena. The Little Buns performed excellently.

Following Yun Yingzhi, one ahead and one behind, the two Little Buns carried themselves with courage and pride. Though tiny, they assumed the role of protectors, keeping Yun Yingzhi safely in their midst. Yun Yingzhi felt so moved that he nearly cried.

The audience was packed, tightly crowded, their shouts echoing through the arena.

People shouted rhythmically: “Jiaojiao! Taotao! Human Big Bad Bunny! Red Peony Beauty!”

Yun Yingzhi, already feeling deeply embarrassed, now wished he could awaken a subterranean esper ability and bury himself deep underground until the attention passed.

Someone in the crowd said, “No wonder this delicate little bunny has such tiny protectors! Normally, when Jiaojiao and Taotao fight, they hide behind teammates, trembling. But today, these two Little Buns are courageously protecting a person!”

“I love these little angelic Buns!”

Yun Yingzhi’s ears twitched. Hearing such words, he looked at the Little Buns with a grateful gaze. Sensing Yun Yingzhi’s eyes, the Little Buns turned back to look at him.

The little egg bounced. The little kit puffed up proudly, thumped a small paw on his chest, looking supremely confident. In that moment, the Little Buns seemed powerful beyond their tiny frames. They wanted to use their fragile bodies and strong hearts to protect the Daddy they loved and show him the world.

Then… Three hostile esper soldiers finally emerged from the other side of the glass passage.

Yun Yingzhi looked over. The three enemies clearly weren’t to be trifled with. From their appearance, they looked to be in their forties, each over two meters tall, heavily muscled with bulging veins.

By their aura, Yun Yingzhi guessed they were at least level six esper soldiers. He realized that taking on this fight with just himself and two Little Buns—and without prepared equipment—was going to be tough. He glanced at the two Little Buns.

Moments ago, these two tiny bundles seemed capable of taking on the world, but now they were shivering, huddled together. Yun Yingzhi’s eyelids twitched violently. How could these little ones be so timid?

From the audience, someone shouted, “Look at Jiaojiao and Taotao!”

“If it were anyone else, they’d have cowered behind teammates. But clearly, they think Daddy is too fragile, maybe even weaker than them. So even scared, they resolutely protect him!”

“What perfectly paired little angel kids!”

Yun Yingzhi felt incredibly moved. He silently thanked the Little Buns for always stepping in front of him when danger appeared.

Finally, the fight began! Before it started, Yun Yingzhi decided that no matter what happened, he wouldn’t shift into his second form. He’d fight in human form. But…life is full of surprises.

Yun Yingzhi was so moved by the Little Buns that, the moment the referee shouted, “Fight!” his instincts took over. He reflexively shifted into his second form—the trained reflex of a military academy student.

In an instant, the arena was filled with a pure white little bunny. And not just one—two smaller offspring, one bunny and one egg, were with him. Screams erupted from the crowd.

“Ahhh!”

“Big and little bunny together on stage!”

Yun Yingzhi, in a daze, realized he had transformed reflexively. Even in panic, the battle had to continue. He sniffled, tears welling in his eyes, and faced the three hostile esper soldiers. The trembling Little Buns, seeing Daddy transform, felt even more that he needed protection. Without hesitation, they launched a fierce attack on the enemies.

Someone in the audience shouted, “Jiaojiao and Taotao have fought so many times, but this is the first time they’re showing their real power!”

At the same time, Taotao used his spatial ability, teleporting with the little kit. They left Yun Yingzhi behind and warped into the enemy formation. The little kit’s tiny body latched onto one enemy esper soldier. The little egg, aware of the little kit’s size, used a spatial esper to lift both the little kit and the enemy into the air.

It all happened in an instant. With little egg’s help, little kit used his small body to slam the enemy esper soldier to the ground.

History repeated itself. Yun Yingzhi felt heat rising off his entire bunny form. He swayed slightly, his black eyes darting around. Every projection showed the same image: tiny little kit, after throwing the enemy to the ground, bubbling happily, spinning with one paw on the ground and the other raised, circling joyfully.

One couldn’t call it imagination—the little kit was exactly like the old Cute Little Battle Rabbit. So identical that no one could mistake him for anyone else’s child. The audience’s cheers echoed through the arena.
