Chapter 20: Flood

Reason turned to ashes at this moment, Lu Xingye felt as if he was under a compulsion, he didn’t know when he nodded his head, by the time he came back to his senses, pheromones had already filled the entire starship.
The black shirt was sandwiched against the white, creamy skin, and Lu Xingye tugged at it from behind with a gentle push, which was rewarded with a delicate shudder from the person in his arms.
“The medical bay…” Lyss took a deep breath, tears hanging from his eyelashes, for the first time in his life, he had regrets, he had underestimated the estrus period, he had underestimated Lu Xingye, “It’s not here, you don’t…”
“Is the Chief Lord being soft with me?” Lu Xingye laughed softly, “That’s not how you beg for forgiveness.”
Lyss closed his eyes and bit his lower lip for a long time, but the man behind him didn’t give him a chance to think about it, instead he loosened his fingers in a rather mischievous manner, and the belt on his shirt clip suddenly popped back up with a crisp clang.
A wolf cub with a wicked sense of humor, Lyss gasped as he inwardly defined Lu Xingye as a wolf that he had led into the house, and he was afraid of what exactly might happen to him now.
When Lu Xingye saw that Lyss, who had his back turned to him, did not say anything, he raised his eyebrows and said, “Lord Chief–“
Before he could finish his sentence, Lyss suddenly turned around and raised his hand to strangle his neck.
White fingers with a slight tremor gave a familiar choking sensation. Lu Xingye calmly hooked the corner of his mouth, no longer panicking the way he had at first, “Your strength… It’s a bit light.”
Lyss narrowed his eyes dangerously at the sound of his provocation, but he no longer looked as dignified as he had in the past. His face was steaming red with sweat and tears, and his golden eyes, always calm, were like sweet maple syrup that you could melt into.
Lyss gasped and gradually tightened the strength of his hands, feeling the alpha’s erratic pulse.
Lu Xingye was clearly aware of Lyss’s abnormal mood swings, but he didn’t feel any fear at all, instead he became more and more excited by the danger.
Lyss gazed into Lu Xingye’s brighter and brighter eyes and suddenly raised his head and kissed him, slowly reducing the strength of his hands. Lu Xingye seemed to have predicted this, seeing this situation lightly laughed a little, completely ignoring the injury on his neck, raised his hand and hooked the person in his arms, cupped the person in his arms, chin and kissed for a while, he lifted his eyes meaningfully looked out the window.
Lyss followed his gaze to look over, only to see the Starfall Sea beyond the starship in ruins, the moonlight sprinkled in the crater, through a desolate beauty.
Lyss abruptly realized what Lu Xingye meant, and he pursed his lips uncomfortably, “… Turn on the starship’s closed mode.”
Lu Xingye revealed a sunny and harmless smile, when he smiled genuinely he would reveal a bit of his tiger teeth. It looked kinda cute, but the words he said were not related to cute at all, “I won’t.”
Lyss went limp as he fought back the shivers and said coldly, “We’ll be seen… Turn closed mode on.”
Lyss tried his best to keep himself dignified, but his eyes widened incredulously before he could finish his sentence – Lu Xingye pulled his tail from behind and pressed him directly onto the console, in front of him was the transparent window, with a clear view of the earth outside.
Lu Xingye good-naturedly tugged at that snow-white tail and watched that towering omega tremble as a result, he licked his tiger teeth excitedly, “We can be seen, so please Chief…” He gently leaned down to whisper in Lyss’ ear, “Don’t make too much noise later.”
Reckless little maniac, those were the last words that surfaced in Lyss’ mind before he was overwhelmed by the tide. The estrus period of a normal omega was usually around a week, but Lyss had a special physique. So far he had experienced the estrus period twice, the last time he relied on the pain to carry him through, that time lasted a total of ten days, and this time, no one knew how long it would last.
The doctor gave a prediction of about half a month, once Lyss had no concept of this, extreme pain he could endure, half a month of estrus period, no big deal. But he was proven wrong, he underestimated Lu Xingye’s madness as well as the young alpha’s tactics.
At the end of the first day, the pheromone was briefly calm.
Lyss quietly sat on his bed with a hint of bewilderment. The shirt clips that had created so much sin had been cleaned and placed wickedly at the foot of the bed. Lyss had just snapped out of his afterglow when he turned his head and saw the two black shirt clips.
Unpleasant memories gradually returned, and Lyss pursed his lips uncomfortably at the thought of what a certain alpha had done to him by means of this shirt pin, and the words he had forced out of him by tugging at his tail.
For the first time in his life, Lyss understood what it was like to be embarrassed. Because he couldn’t lie, Lyss clearly knew that every word Lu Xingye “forced” him to say was what he was really thinking. Lu Xingye recognized this trait in him, but strangely enough, he didn’t take this opportunity to ask something more important, but instead asked him to answer some… Unimportant but personal questions.
… Little mad dog, Lyss thought silently with his golden eyes downcast.
Just as Lyss was mentally counting down Lu Xingye’s “sins”, the culprit pushed his way into the room with a steaming bowl of noodles in soup. The aroma of the food tickled the taste buds, and Lyss instantly snapped out of his thoughts, raising his eyes to the visitor.
“The kitchen on the starship is too high-tech, and after being used to the kitchenware at home, it’s still a bit uncomfortable for a while.” Lu Xingye sat down on the bedside with the noodles, and first took a spoonful of soup and blew on it and sent it to Lyss’s mouth, “It’s a bit hot, first drink some soup and see if the saltiness suits your taste.”
If you ignore the bruises on Lu Xingye’s neck and the scratches on his wrists, anyone who looks at Lu Xingye at this moment will think that he is a considerate and handsome young alpha, only Lyss knows clearly how crazy this kid is.
Lu Xingye’s heart was not as calm as he showed on the surface, he knew what he had done in his own heart, letting omega bite the tip of his tail to keep quiet was something only he could do.
Lyss looked at him for a while and then did not say anything, just lowered his head and drank the spoonful of soup in his hand, a little bit of soup hanging on his lips, he stuck out his tongue and licked it.
Lu Xingye saw this and wondered what had happened last night, his face heated up and he looked down and pretended to clear his throat, “How does it taste?”
“It’s delicious.” Lyss said and took the bowl of noodles from Lu Xingye’s hands, lowered his head and ate a few bites before asking, “Is your friend awake?”
Lyss was wearing loose loungewear, the few exposed skin still pale, but only the two of them knew how it really looked underneath the fabric.
Yesterday that shirt, in addition to the two shirt clips, had accompanied Lyss to the last moment. The shirt clips, at least, are leather, the shirt itself did not have such good luck. Last night’s Lu Xingye was completely out of his mind, his hand didn’t have a light touch but his body had a natural masculine beauty.
“He woke up, he insisted on giving you thanks, but was stopped by me.” Lu Xingye’s eyes grew deeper, “When the marking is done… I’ll have him come to see you.”
Both of them knew what Lu Xingye’s unfinished business was, at the moment the full marking was not yet completed, the second wave could erupt at any time. Lyss could not wait any longer.
“Let him come now.” Lyss swallowed the last mouthful of soup noodles and said, “It’s too late, Wu Jiu already knows my movements, if Dr. Qiu really has any secrets in his hands… I don’t rule out that Wu Jiu will directly take action.”
“With my understanding of Wu Jiu, he values his life, so he won’t, and wouldn’t dare to make a move.” Lu Xingye disagreed, “And your current state could change anytime… You can’t gamble with that.”
“He does value his life, but what if something is more important than his life?” Lyss placed the bowl on the bed, “I know my own state, it’s fine.”
Lu Xingye still doesn’t let go, “What if there is an accident?”
Lyss raised his eyes and looked at him, “There’s still you.”
He said it as a matter of course. Lu Xingye’s breath stuttered as he looked back at this deity and then unnaturally averted his gaze. Lyss did not force his way out of the situation, he just withdrew his gaze and lowered his eyes, his eyelashes fluttering gently, revealing an untainted beauty.
After that long night yesterday, Lyss suddenly opened up a little bit. Even though it was only a little bit, it was enough to deal with the young alpha who also had little experience. Although he knew that Lyss was doing it on purpose, Lu Xingye still couldn’t deny him looking like this. He sighed hopelessly, “Alright, Chief Lord, all as you wish, I’ll go contact him now.”
“Uh-huh.” Lyss just started to change in front of him, “Thanks for the trouble.”
This person was clearly underneath him a few hours ago, biting the tip of his tail and crying and panting, and a few hours later he was actually able to regain his usual restraint and detachment, apologizing politely to him as if nothing had happened.
Lu Xingye didn’t feel any resentment rising because of Lyss’ politeness towards him, instead he couldn’t help but feel an urge rising from the bottom of his heart, wanting to tear apart his calmness and restraint, and watch him lose control of himself as he choked the person on top of him and cried while shaking.
Lu Xingye licked his tiger teeth, picking up the terminal and messaging Levine as he surveyed the omega near him. Lyss naturally knew that the alpha behind him hadn’t left, but he didn’t say anything, just grabbed the shirt buttons from his bed and slipped them over his legs, moving rather naturally as if he didn’t care at all about what the two shirt clips were being used for.
The black shirt clips set off the already white areas, and Lu Xingye’s eyes grew darker and darker, wanting to bite something so badly, he thought, and couldn’t help but lick his tiger teeth again.
Lyss turned his back to the person behind him and tended to his clothes, he had just fastened the shirt clip with his new shirt when the person behind him swarmed up in a sticky manner.
“Lord Chief…” The young alpha hugged up like a big dog on the strength of being handsome and sweet-talking, coming up to the person’s ear and shamelessly saying something.
Lyss lowered his head to straighten his clothes and then said as if nothing had happened, “No, the guests will be here soon, it’ll be too late if our clothes are messed up.”
Lu Xingye was actually very aggravated, “But the Chief Lord is obviously only wearing a shirt.”
Lyss sniffed without saying a word and lowered his head to fasten the last button. Just when Lu Xingye wanted to say something else, he turned around and sat on the table behind him without saying a word. Without waiting for Lu Xingye to react, he raised his leg and stepped on the alpha’s shoulder.
Lyss didn’t use much force, his slender leg just stepped on Lu Xingye’s shoulder, he slightly raised those golden eyes like amber to look at Lu Xingye, “Bite it, get a grip.”
The rabbit with ears still drooping on both sides stood carefully at the door of the starship with the fox, detecting the arrivals, a video used to talk to the people inside appeared on the door.
“Mr. Lyss, and that, Lu.” Levine stood up straight and spoke to the people in the video, “I’m all better, and I’ve come especially with Brian to say thank you to you both.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the door to the starship opened.
Levine raised his foot and was about to head inside when Brian was quick to yank him by the ear.
“Hiss-” Levine nearly jumped up in pain, “What are you doing!”
“Don’t forget what I just told you.” Brian said with hatred, “When the time comes, you’ll say whatever Mr. Lyss asks you, and don’t talk nonsense.”
“… I know.” Levine rubbed his ears, “But from what you’re saying, the two of them must have an unusual relationship, it’s not like I’m talking nonsense…”
Brian instantly felt like all the instructions on the road had been for nothing, and his breath almost came out.
Without waiting for him to continue, an abrupt voice suddenly came from the side, “Who has an unusual relationship?”
Levine suddenly turned his head, and when he saw the person coming, he said joyfully, “Brother Lu–“
Brian held him down and raised his hand to cover Levine’s mouth when he wanted to say something else, “The two of us, said the two of us have an unusual relationship.”
“So.” Lu Xingye raised an eyebrow.
“Why don’t you let the guests in.” A slightly lethargic voice came from the inner cabin, sounding as if it was carrying water vapor, not as cold in quality as it had been when several people first met.
The rabbit’s ears were quite sensitive, and stirred softly at the words as Levine looked over at Lu Xingye with some shock, muffling, from under Brian’s hand, “Brother, you really dare to sleep-“
Brian hastily increased the strength of his hand, almost muffling the person.
Lu Xingye swept them away without denying it, turning his head toward the cabin and raising his voice, “Be right there.”
Lyss sat in the living room of the starship, he took a small sip of the tea Lu Xingye had just brewed for him as he cradled it, the teeth marks the wolf cub had left in a certain area were still sore, Lyss paused for a moment before parting his legs a little uncomfortably.
Tea was a specialty of Serica, and as a Triss he wasn’t supposed to have ever drunk it, but as soon as that slightly bitter flavor mixed with a refreshing aroma hit his mouth, a sense of familiarity surged through him unconsciously, as if he had drunk it somewhere before.
Just as Lyss was lowering his eyes and pondering the source of this sense of familiarity, Lu Xingye walked in with someone, “Lord Chief, I’ve brought you the person you wanted.”
Lyss put down his teacup and looked over, “It’s hard for the two of you to make the trip.”
“No hard work, no hard work.” Brian was afraid that the rabbit would open its mouth without a door, and sniffed and quickly replied, “You are Levine’s savior, this small matter is nothing.”
Lyss signaled Lu Xingye to give them hover chairs, “Xingye’s friends are naturally my friends, please take a seat.”
Brian was a bit stunned at his words, as if he didn’t expect that someone as high and mighty as Lyss would treat them as friends.
Lu Xingye also froze for a moment when he heard Lyss suddenly call his name.
“This…” Brian couldn’t help but look at Lu Xingye.
Lu Xingye returned to his senses and let out a “tsk”, “Just sit down when you’re told to, what’s with all the nonsense.”
Levine obediently closed his mouth and sat down, and Brian followed suit.
Being an alpha, Brian sensed a hint of something wrong as soon as he sat down – something seemed to have just happened here.
He looked over at Lyss with a slight stiffness, and when he saw that the other man’s eyes still had a scarlet color that hadn’t faded in the corners of his eyes, he hastily averted his gaze just in time to meet Lu Xingye’s narrowed eyes with a hint of warning in their danger.
Brian sat up straight in fear and looked down at the ground.
Lyss sensed his difference and asked softly after taking a sip of tea, “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” Lu Xingye retracted his gaze and turned into that harmless look again, “Foxes are timid and easily frightened.”
I’m afraid that’s a rabbit you’re talking about, but even though Brian was bellyaching in the bottom of his heart, he didn’t dare to open his mouth on his face, he only dared to nod carelessly and took the blame for the rabbit.
Lu Xingye poured a glass of water for the two of them, and then sat down beside Lyss and rather naturally wrapped his arm around his sidekick’s waist, “Enough of this small talk, Bunny, how’s your health?”
Levine’s eyes widened slightly at the sight and his mouth stammered, “Quite…quite well, everything else is back to normal except for my ears.”
“That’s good.” Lu Xingye gently rubbed the waist of the person in his arms and twisted his head to whisper, “He probably knows what you’re going to ask, there’s no need to introduce the background, just ask directly.”
“Okay.” Lyss was accustomed to Lu Xingye’s movements, not the slightest bit uncomfortable, “Do you know Dr. Qiu?”
“I know her but not particularly well.” Levine’s eyes went straight, but his mouth dutifully replied, “She’s a scientist that Wu Jiu snatched up, once I was crippled and thrown in the ruins of Starfall Sea, and by chance I was saved by her robot. Then I wanted to repay her… Just promised I’d get her out if I had the chance.”
None of the people in space had mentioned Dr. Qiu’s gender before, only Levine had explicitly used the word “she”.
Lyss quietly ponders whether Dr. Qiu and Dr. Dong are the same person, and if Sheng Dan’s group hasn’t met Dr. Qiu herself.
Lu Xingye couldn’t help but let out a laugh, “Dr. Qiu really cast a wide net, out of all Starfall Sea not one hundred but eighty people promised to save her, but it’s a pity that the only one who is still alive now is the rabbit.”
Lyss twisted his head and looked at him calmly, “What about you?”
“… Me?” Lu Xingye keenly sensed a hint of danger, his ears twitched a little and said, “I still heard about her existence from the rabbit but I’ve never even seen her, let alone met her.”
“So,” Lyss didn’t comment and turned his head to continue, “where is she being held?”
Levine hastily pulled out his terminal, “She’s being held on the backside of Starfall Sea… I’ll send the location to Lu.”
“Backside?” Lu Xingye frowned slightly, “The back of Starfall Sea is more than a hundred degrees below zero… is Wu Jiu crazy?”
“Wu Jiu built a special bunker for Dr. Qiu, not to mention one hundred degrees below zero, even one hundred degrees above zero is fine.” Levine said, “She told me that the bunker is extremely closed, anyway, she tried many times, except for Wu Jiu, no one can get in, and she can’t get out from inside.”
Lyss asked, “What does Dr. Qiu study?”
“This… I’m not too sure. The communication between the two of us is sporadic, and she probably thinks that I can’t save her at my level, so all she talks to me about is a bit of gossip.” Levine desperately recalled, “But I think I heard her complain, she said that Wu Jiu let her do all the work alone, even the AI was assigned to her, completely ignoring the fact that she was originally in biomedical science.”
“Artificial intelligence?” Hearing this familiar word, Lyss and Lu Xingye looked at each other in unison.
“Oh yeah, it’s artificial intelligence.” Levine casually said, “She said that what Wu Jiu had her develop were all those kinds of gray area projects, and even if she did escape one day, I’m afraid she’d still be wanted.”
Lu Xingye added, “That recording button I gave you should have flowed out from her lab.”
Lyss said thoughtfully, “Genius scientist.”
“She does have that genius scientist crazy streak.” Levine nodded fervently, “About that, Mr. Lyss, I’ve sent Lu the location.”
“Thanks.” Lyss temporarily withdrew his thoughts and nodded to Levine, “It’s not too late, we need to get moving as soon as possible.”
Levine hurriedly nodded obediently, “Understood, understood, although my body has almost recovered, but after lying down for so many days, my stamina and all that is not working. So I won’t go with the two of you.”
Lyss nodded in understanding.
Lu Xingye looked at Levine’s two hanging rabbit ears that were really funny, and just wanted to open his mouth to tease him, when the person beside him tugged on his sleeve. Lu Xingye’s movements gave a start, and then he heard Lyss whisper in his ear, “Go see off the guests.”
With a subtle sweetness of the spit sprinkled in the ear, Lu Xingye’s heart paused for just a moment and then he suddenly realized what Lyss meant. The knot in his throat unconsciously slipped a bit, he immediately cleared his throat and stood up and said, “Okay, I do not care what you do for dinner, you two hurry back where you came from and play amongst yourselves.”
“Too desperate Lu.” Levine’s mouth said so, but still followed beside the fox who did not say a word and stood up, “have a wife, forget a brother, I see through you.”
The room fell silent at those words.
Brian was relieved one second, thinking that it could be considered to be over, but the next second he heard this droopy-eared rabbit’s explosive speech, and for a moment he was so shocked that he wanted to die.
Lu Xingye paused for a moment but laughed lightly as if nothing had happened, “Isn’t it obvious who to choose between a wife and a brother, you saw through it too late.”
“You’re the brother, whatever you say makes sense.” Levine skimmed his lips and pulled Brian, who looked like a wooden man, to leave, not forgetting to turn his head to say goodbye to Lyss when he walked to the door of the inner cabin.
As soon as he stepped off the ship, Brian couldn’t stand it any longer and gave Levine a smack, “I told you to keep your mouth shut!”
Levine rubbed his head in frustration, “I didn’t say anything… Brother Lu didn’t say anything.”
Brian immediately glared at him, Levine’s neck shrank in fear, but his mouth still had no control, “That lord is in the middle of that… that period, right?”
He was a Beta and couldn’t smell it, Brian paused for a moment and said, “Uh-huh.”
“I saw that Lu was quite happy, so I didn’t dare tell him…” Levine hesitated for a moment, “I always felt that that lord had no human feelings… Just like a god, his eyes are cold and icy, I was scared to death when he looked at me… But he seems to be a little different towards Lu, but certainly not as much as Lu is towards him.”
“A blind man could see that.” The Foxes have always been more sensitive to that aspect of things, “The smile at the corners of Lu’s mouth never went down without him saying something.”
Levine sighed pretentiously, “Alas, the more beautiful the beauty is, the more it kills without blinking an eye ah, I’ve seen the kind of omega before, one that has a bunch of alphas rushing to their deaths just by hooking their hands, but this lord’s position…I’m afraid that Lu is going to fall into that lord’s hands… so pitiful… Ai ai, it hurts!”
Brian’s face changed when he heard that, and he raised his hand to slap Levine, “Shut the hell up!”
“I’m talking about planting emotions… Ouch, ouch, ouch… And maybe Lu will just carry the High Ridge Flower home, it’s not like he’s going to kill him…” Before Levine could finish his sentence, Brian raised his hand and twisted his ear, and he immediately curtly said, “Wrong, wrong, I’ll never talk nonsense again-“
The two on this side were playing around in the night, on the other side of the starship’s inner cabin, Lu Xingye closed the hatch and slowly walked towards the person half leaning on the sofa, “The position has been received, when do we leave?”
Lyss didn’t answer, instead he held the cup of tea and asked, “What flavor is your pheromone?”
Lu Xingye sniffed and gave a start, then sat down beside him with a normal demeanor, “It’s the flavor of the cup of tea you’re holding, but it’s a bit sweeter than this.”
Lyss twisted his head to look at him, “Then why don’t you add sugar?”
His state is obviously different from just now, there is a trace of undetectable stickiness between his words, Lu Xingye will be able to see these, “I’m afraid that you’re not used to drinking it.”
“If you’re used to drinking it or not, you always have to try it.” Lyss carried a cup and handed it to Lu Xingye.
Lu Xingye took the cup, took out a few mint candies from the pocket of his clothes, peeled off the paper and threw it into the half cup of green tea, after the candies were almost melted, Lu Xingye tilted his head back and drank it all in one gulp, and then he held Lyss’s waist and then passed that mouthful of tea over to him.
Lyss used to have no preference in terms of taste, until he met Lu Xingye, it was as if his taste buds were awakened.
The tea that he couldn’t swallow in time ran along the corners of his mouth and down his neck as his body man rose slightly and asked with slight anticipation, “How was it?”
Both knew he was asking about more than just the tea, Lyss sniffed and stuck out his tongue to lick the corner of his mouth, “A little peculiar, but… Not bad.”
Lu Xingye sniffed and pressed his leg up to the side of the other man’s neck, smelling the rich scent of white peaches but he showed a rare politeness, “Do you need to come inside?”
Lyss closed his eyes, the breath he exhaled carried the fragrance of white peach, “… It’s alright here, time is running out, hurry up.”
“Yes, sir.” Lu Xingye embraced the person and pressed down, his voice with a smile drowned in the darkness of the night, “But relying on me alone won’t resolve it faster… I’m sorry to trouble you, Chief Lord, to make an effort as well.”
All that talk of grasping at straws didn’t save much time when it came down to a full count.
When Lyss opened his eyes again, his body was covered with a soft and thick blanket, outside the starship there was a snowy color, the coldness seemed to come in through the window, and Lu Xingye was sitting next to the command console frowning at something.
Lyss lifted the quilt and walked to Lu Xingye’s side, “Arrived at the coordinates?”
Lu Xingye raised his hand and hooked the waist of the person beside him to hold him on his lap, Lyss subconsciously pressed Lu Xingye’s shoulder.
“We’re here, but now there’s a problem.” Lu Xingye gently squeezed the waist of the person in his arms and gestured for him to look at the star map, “The coordinates given by the rabbit are here, and the star map also shows that there is something down there, but it’s currently a hundred and twenty degrees below zero outside, if we go straight out, then our deaths should be quite romantic.”
Lyss didn’t take his joke and stared at the star map for a long time, “Open the communication system.”
Lu Xingye immediately understood what he meant, and raised his eyebrows, “Once the communication system is open, our starship will have nowhere to hide in the snow. The chief isn’t afraid of running into ghosts?”
The two know very well who “ghosts” refers to.
“They’re nothing to fear.” Lyss didn’t even want to say a superfluous word, “Open the communication system.”
Lu Xingye hooked the corner of his mouth, “Yes, sir.”
Once the communication system was turned on, the coordinates of the starship were exposed like black dots on white paper, but the star map also immediately showed two objects that could be connected, one close at hand, and the other five hundred star miles away.
“Tsk.” Lu Xingye looked at that coordinate in the distance, “Wu Jiu is still there.”
Lyss didn’t even give him a look and didn’t see Wu Jiu as a threat at all, “Connect to the nearest object.”
Obviously the console was close at hand, but he wasn’t even happy to raise his hand, just leaning in the alpha’s arms with a hint of imperceptible lethargy and issuing orders.
Lu Xingye was quite happy to be ordered by him, and obediently sent a contact request to the nearest coordinates.
Somewhat surprisingly, the opposite party immediately agreed to his request.
“Hello, who is it?” A female voice without fluctuations rang out.
“Dr. Qiu, hello.” Lyss politely said, “There are some things I would like to consult you about the medicine Mr. Feng Man got.”
The opposite side lurched, and that female voice immediately tensed, “Are you Lyss?”
Lyss faintly said, “Looks like you know the purpose of my coming.”
“… I invented the medicine, but what you want to know, I can’t say.” The female voice paused for a moment then changed her words, “Unless you can get me out of here.”
Lyss craned his head to look out the window and lowered his eyes to the bunker buried in snow, “Yes, but there is something I need your help with.”
If Wu Jiu came here from time to time, there was bound to be a transition zone between the bunker and the outdoors. With Dr. Qiu’s daily calculations for escape, there was no way she wouldn’t know about this place.
Lyss proved to be right in his calculations, as Dr. Qiu heard this and fell silent in a rare moment, “… How can I be sure that you are not Wu Jiu’s people.”
“You can disbelieve us all you want.” Lyss said full of concern.
Lu Xingye aptly said, “Dr. Qiu, if you don’t believe us, do you also not believe in Levine?”
The two of them sang one red face and the other white face. Dr. Qiu was really shocked when she heard that, “How do you guys know Levine…? Are you Lu Xingye?”
Lu Xingye raised an eyebrow, “Dr. Qiu actually knows me.”
“… …Starfall Sea’s famous Knight’s Blade, there’s no way anyone in Starfall Sea wouldn’t recognize it.” Dr. Qiu finally sent her mouth, “I’ll send you the coordinates of the docking area, the rest is up to you.”
After saying that she hung up the phone and sent the coordinates of the docking area in no time.
Lu Xingye put one arm around Lyss and maneuvered the starship towards the coordinates.
The docking area was a transparent shell almost the same color as the vast snow, but after the starship landed on it, it wrapped the starship like a bubble.
Lu Xingye raised his eyes and looked around, “Well, it’s so advanced.”
Lyss frowned, “Peptide nano-fibers… I’m afraid this place is not right.”
As soon as the words left his mouth, the ship received a warning from the Bubble, “Airbag extinguished in three minutes, please proceed with identity verification. “Airbag extinguished in three minutes. Please proceed with identity verification.”
Both of them looked up suddenly, only to see that the seemingly harmless transparent bubble was gradually shrinking, and an extremely complex code appeared on the star map.
Lu Xingye cursed and raised his hand to pull the command lever.
Without a word, Lyss pressed down on Lu Xingye’s hand, raising his eyes unblinkingly to look at the code in the star chart.
Unsure of himself, Lu Xingye called his name sharply, “Mr. Silverfang?”
Lyss ignored the offended puppy, he frowned and stared at the blue code scrolling in the star chart, Lu Xingye behind him was anxious and wanted to say something, Lyss covered his mouth with his backhand, “Be quiet, puppy.”
Lu Xingye blinked, raised his eyes to look at the bubbles outside the starship that were about to wrap around it, and finally closed his mouth obediently.
The blue code was reflected in the gilt-colored eyes, and when the last letter disappeared, the bubble was less than three fingers away from the starship.
Lyss withdrew his gaze, pulled open the virtual keyboard, and lowered his head to operate it quickly.
Lu Xingye froze, Lyss hated to set up his own home as a cave of primitive people, usually did not see him use modern technology, but now he can actually solve such a complex code?
The moment the “bubble” touched the starship, Lyss knocked down the last string of code and violently pressed the confirmation button, the “bubble” instantly stood still in the air as if someone had pressed the stop sign.
The arm around his waist gradually tightened, Lyss did not care, just raised his eyes to the window, quietly staring at the bubble.
Three seconds later, the bubble slowly expanded and Lu Xingye slowly exhaled.
Lyss withdrew his hand and continued to lean nicely in Lu Xingye’s arms, “Land.”
Lu Xingye maneuvered the starship to land slowly on the hovering apron, the bubble gradually lengthened and formed a huge corridor that wrapped the starship, the other end of the bubble was wrapped in the color of snow, nothing could be seen.
“Time to go down.” Lyss said getting up from Lu Xingye.
“Wait.” Lu Xingye quickly pulled Lyss back, and in the other party’s slightly puzzled gaze, he rummaged out a black coat from the luggage next to him, and backhandedly draped it over Lyss, before half-wrapping his arm around Lyss and saying, “Let’s go.”
Lyss’s movements lurched, but he finally allowed the usurping alpha to walk off the starship in a half-embrace.
The outside was white, and the air bubble could only insulate against the bitter cold of over a hundred degrees below zero, but could not make the inside truly warm.
The temperature inside the bubble was probably about ten degrees below zero, and Lyss was half-carried in his arms as he took one step at a time toward the front, feeling his body half cold and half hot.
The two walked for ten minutes before a massive bunker finally appeared ahead, and a huge door appeared at the end of the bubble corridor.
It didn’t seem appropriate to say it was a door, it was more like a shield cast in code, which was densely covered in light blue code like a deep, bottomless ocean. There was an input device embedded directly in front of the two.
Lu Xingye surveyed it and said, “This thing is supposed to be used to enter codes, right?”
Lyss swept a glance, “Destroy this input device.”
“Destroy?” Lu Xingye raised an eyebrow, “As far as I know, places with such things usually have self-destruct devices.”
“This is the transmitter of the self-destruct device.” Lyss told the secrets of this bunker without changing his face, “No matter what is fed into it, it will trigger the self-destruct, this thing is just a cover.”
Lu Xingye understood, in order to avoid the debris from hurting Lyss, he raised his hand and brought the person towards his arms, then slammed his fist into the input device. A shattering sound rang out, the input device made of star bone was like a piece of tofu that he easily smashed, a few traces of blood flowed down the back of his hand.
Lyss didn’t care about his small injury and turned his head to input on the light screen covered with codes.
Twenty seconds later, all the codes suddenly shattered, and the “shield” in front of the two shattered, revealing a well-lit corridor.
The two looked at each other and then raised their feet and walked in.
The corridor was not long, and soon they could see the light ahead.
In the bright light, a slender back figure turned around, “I didn’t expect you two to actually arrive here.”
It was a clean-cut female omega, who didn’t look old and didn’t have Therians’ features, her race and nationality couldn’t be seen just by looking at her appearance, only her eyes were unusually bright, which reminded Lyss of what Levine had said earlier – “She’s a crazy person.”
As Lyss wordlessly sized up the other party, the other party was also sizing him up.
An omega so beautiful that heaven and earth were dimmed, wrapped in a black and gold overcoat, he looked unusually soft as he was half-hugged in the arms of the handsome young alpha, but Dr. Qiu’s sixth sense as a scientific researcher pulled full circle the moment she saw the omega – dangerous, extremely dangerous.
“Hello.” Lu Xingye didn’t have the leisure of the two of them and said directly, “Wu Jiu should be arriving soon, everyone is pressed for time, so please fulfill your promise.”
Dr. Qiu stepped back from that sweaty state and took out a chip and said, “All the results of my research are here, thank you both for your help, but I have to hurry and leave, see you again sometime.”
Her repayment was generous, Lu Xingye raised an eyebrow and said, “You’re not coming with us?”
Dr. Qiu said, “You two have already saved me, I can’t let you two be implicated by Wu Jiu because of me again.”
Lyss faintly said, “I am not afraid of Wu Jiu implicating me.”
Lyss obviously had no intention of letting her go, Dr. Qiu froze for a moment and then thought that Lyss was going to settle the score with her over the medicine, she hurriedly explained, “The medicine was forced on me by a person…”
“It has nothing to do with the medicine.” Lyss gently rubbed the chip in his hand, “What was that person’s name?”
Dr. Qiu shook her head, “I don’t know, only that it’s a Black Wolf alpha, and the people of Sheng Dan respect him.”
Lyss pondered for a moment, “Is the Chudai System within your research as well?”
“… You guys also know about Chudai?” Hearing Chudai System, Dr. Qiu’s expression suddenly became a bit odd, “My job is to research Chudai… To make it short, Chudai is still alive, and quite a few people are looking for him, including Wu Jiu.”
“… Alive?” Lu Xingye frowned slightly, “The Chudai System is nothing more than a string of code, why call it a him?”
“Not strange.” Dr. Qiu’s expression suddenly changed, “He is just alive… He’s not a code, but a god – a deity that man has awakened from the world of data and is unable to dominate.”
Lu Xingye was confused by her somewhat maniacal look, “It’s not that evil, code and religion can still be linked together, a mechanical séance? Have you been locked up and gone crazy?”
See Lu Xingye do not believe, Dr. Qiu as if the faith was offended believers, all of a sudden exploded, “the existing description of the Chudai of everything is false, they hide the truth, you simply do not understand! After the Chudai System disappeared, a batch of Bioroids under development also disappeared, after that there was a large-scale Bioroid rebellion, those Bioroids all had unprecedented golden codes appearing on their bodies, this is not a coincidence, it’s – Divine Punishment!”
While Dr. Qiu’s state was described as maniacal, upon hearing this, Lu Xingye twisted his head to look at Lyss, who hadn’t said a word since the beginning. Just at this moment, an alarm suddenly came from the lab, and Dr. Qiu abruptly recovered from the state of seizure she had just been in, her face instantly going white.
“All the answers you need are in the chip, I really have to go.” Dr. Qiu was back to normal all of a sudden, “Otherwise I won’t be able to leave when Wu Jiu comes.”
Lyss hung his eyes and wondered what he was thinking, this time he didn’t stop him but nodded gently. Dr. Qiu turned and walked into the lab, Lyss backhanded the chip and put it away, turning around and walking with Lu Xingye in the direction they came from.
Wu Jiu was finally a step too late, Dr. Qiu had been preparing for her escape for so many years, even the mecha for escape had been designed, by the time Wu Jiu arrived she had long since escaped from the Starfall Sea’s first cosmic velocity and escaped into the solar system.
The fastest starship in all of Triss is in his hands, Starfall Sea was not worth mentioning, even the gravity of the mother star would not have been enough to limit it. Coincidentally, when Lyss and Lu Xingye went out from the tunnel, they just saw Wu Jiu’s starship landing.
In a head full of snow, the other party set up a high-energy particle cannon towards the two of them, the red glowing particle cannon was pointed right at them, Lu Xingye frowned once and backhanded Lyss behind him.
“He doesn’t dare to fire the cannon.” Lyss didn’t even raise his eyes, “Get on board.”
The two of them just got on the starship under Wu Jiu’s eyes, and Lyss’s pace could even be described as leisurely. The particle cannon was lit up from the beginning, but he never dared to fire a single shot.
As soon as the hatch was closed, Lyss suddenly released his pheromone, Lu Xingye quickly embraced him, and the rich smell of white peaches mixed with the sweet tea smell of his body filled the entire interior cabin. Fortunately, the starship’s performance in all aspects were good enough, in terms of closure it was also the same, inside the pheromone did not reveal a drop, solidly sealed in the cabin, wrapped in the two people’s sanity and desire.
There was another convenience to this starship’s performance – the captain’s workload was small in comparison, so small that he was always available to meet the other needs of his passengers. The starship set off again, after the autopilot mode was turned on, the black coat was casually thrown on the console. The stars outside the ship were brilliant, but Lu Xingye did not have the time to watch.
Lyss was like a fish out of the water, unable to respond, the tip of the tail was in his mouth and had been bitten out of shape.
The waves suddenly stopped at this time, it took Lyss’s brain a while to react before realizing what had happened, he bit his lower lip and raised his eyes to see Lu Xingye looking at him with a burning gaze.
Lyss raised his foot and was about to step on Lu Xingye’s shoulder, his golden eyes like agar contained a silent urging. The other party grabbed his ankle and smoothly leaned down, pressing his right leg against his chest.
Lyss’s breath stuttered and he opened his mouth slightly to release his tail, just as he was about to open his mouth to urge him on, the handsome young alpha lowered his head and kissed the golden code on his collarbone, “Now it’s the Chief Lord’s turn to fulfill his promise, what does this string of code stand for?”
Lyss fell into a deep silence, only the slightly raspy breathing of the two remained, Lu Xingye was in no hurry, he simply looked up and tenderly kissed the teardrops from the corner of the omega’s eyes, “Answer my question and we will continue.”
“My Mr. Silverfang, are you a human being or a string of code?”

Wow!! An especially long chapter and was simply wonderful 👍🏻🥰
…or is he Chudai and the Roboids were made in his image, all coded from him?
I think he’s the God, Chudai, rather than AI; although there probably isn’t much difference.
If Lyss goes on to have a child, as in the novel’s Summary, he can’t be AI, surely?
Thank you both for this great chapter.
