Chapter 33: Celebration

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Lyss once said a sentence, roughly meaning, the unmarked relationship was very suitable for him and Lu Xingye. But now he regretted it, an unprecedented regret.

He used to think he understood Lu Xingye well, but only today did he realize that he hadn’t been raising a puppy, but a genuine wolfhound.

The wolf cub finally revealed its true colors after being abandoned. The once deliberately gentle demeanor to seek the mercy of the gods was gone, replaced by unprecedented ferocity and fierceness.

Tears soaked the fabric before him, the wrist sore from the belt. Lyss had never imagined that his first genuine tears would come in this situation.

“Why not resist?” The instigator, almost losing sanity, lifted his chin, tenderly and affectionately kissing his lips, whispering amidst the entanglement, “As long as the Chief wants, a hand could easily crush me, right? So… why not resist, brother?”

Lyss couldn’t stand being called “brother,’ tears streaming even more fiercely. Yet, he said and did nothing.

There was neither resistance nor response.

His silence indulged Lu Xingye’s audacity and anger. Instead of anger, the other smirked, cruelly yanking his tail.

“——!!”

“Since brother doesn’t plan to resist, let’s settle things properly,” Lu Xingye grabbed the wet tail beneath him, lowering his head to the other’s ear, “Starting from the first time you lied to me.”

“I…” Tears almost trembling, Lyss said, “I haven’t lied to you… except for the last time…”

“Is that so? But unfortunately, the Chief’s credibility with me has now reset to zero,” Lu Xingye said icily, “Do you take responsibility for what you say, brother?”

Unable to do anything else, Lyss suppressed his voice, “…Yes.”

“Is driving me away also something you said?” Lu Xingye analyzed each point meticulously, “Which of these two statements is true? Hm?”

Lyss couldn’t answer, biting his lip tightly, refusing to reply.

Seeing this, Lu Xingye pinched his chin and kissed him. This kiss was unprecedentedly fierce, leaving Lyss feeling weak, invaded even within his mouth.

His tongue was pressed down, unable to contain the saliva seeping through his lips. For a moment, Lyss was kissed until he couldn’t even cry out.

“Lyss, what do you really take me for?” Lu Xingye, with a mix of paranoia and eerie calm in his eyes, looked earnestly at the person in his arms, speaking gently and calmly, “Do you even have the slightest bit of liking for me?”

Unprecedented silence filled the room. In the dim light, only their rapid breaths could be heard.

Lu Xingye’s already cold heart froze completely at this moment.

Lyss weakly gripped the bed sheets beneath him. Despite his primitive coding constraining his actions, he tried hard through tears to speak, “I…”

“Let it go,” Lu Xingye interrupted in an unusually calm tone, an attitude akin to resignation, “I don’t want to know.”

“——!”

The pupils under the soaked fabric contracted weakly. Lyss trembled, refusing, “No… the doctor said…”

He wanted to use the doctor’s advice to make Lu Xingye stop, but at this moment, Lu Xingye had fallen into a calm madness.

“That doctor might be with Dale or Hilton. He provided your physiological information to Dr. Qiu. But to you, he’s a traitor, you should know that, right?” Lu Xingye dissected each word as he held the person beneath him, “So, his words might not be reliable. What if you can conceive?”

Lyss’s eyes widened suddenly. before he could answer, Lu Xingye kissed his lips, blocking all explanations and refusals.

Consciousness began to sink.

In the fissure of time and space, there was no sense of time passing. Without the hourglass at the bedside, Lyss might not have realized how long had passed.

This experience was completely different from the one on the starship. Lyss had completely lost control. At first, perhaps out of guilt or due to the influence of pregnancy-related thoughts. But as things progressed, when Lyss realized things were getting out of control and he wanted to regain control, it was already too late.

Lu Xingye spoke less and less, but his frenzy increased.

Just two days ago, when Lyss was still somewhat clear-minded, he could barely move around the room and sometimes sit at the desk to ponder.

As time passed, what little rationality Lu Xingye had left was also depleted.

“You…” Lyss pushed back, “There are ten days until the fissure reopens… please, don’t go crazy… let me think of a way…”

“There’s no way,” Lu Xingye’s eyes had completely darkened, “Brother, would you be willing to die with me?”

Lyss suddenly closed his eyes and trembled, refusing to answer by biting his lip.

Something’s wrong… he thought with a dizzy mind. His attitude was extremely wrong…

After shedding tears for a long time, Lyss finally hoarsely asked, “Have you… hidden something…?”

“Congratulations, you guessed it,” Lu Xingye said, pressing his sweat-drenched forehead lightly against Lyss’s. Then, he couldn’t resist and softly kissed the eyes looking at him without blinking.

“Your mother… since she’s the designer of Chudai…” Lyss struggled to maintain a rational calmness, despite his breath heating up, and continued tremblingly, “Serica didn’t want to preserve the code… The last piece of code… is it with your mother?”

Lu Xingye paused briefly, then gently brushed aside the sweat-soaked silver hair on Lyss’s face, leaning down to kiss the moist lips, “Correct, I hid a chip.”

With the truth just a step away, since Lu Jin was the designer of Chudai, her code was likely the longest. Lyss had a premonition that once he got that code, his memories might fully recover.

Lyss desperately reached up to hook Lu Xingye’s neck. Seeing this, Lu Xingye’s eyes dimmed, and he moved his hand to support Lyss’s waist. “Want the chip?”

Lyss nodded, biting his lip. Lu Xingye pinched his chin, lifting his face, “This is a relic of my mother. What does the Chief intend to offer in exchange?”

Lyss suddenly closed his eyes, then, in a gesture of offering a kiss, leaned in towards Lu Xingye. After a moment of kissing, he pushed the other onto the bed.

Lu Xingye raised an eyebrow, looking at Lyss. They locked eyes for a moment before Lyss silently shifted his gaze away, lowering his head to bite Lu Xingye’s collarbone.

“Ah—” Lu Xingye tilted his head back, holding Lyss’s waist, “Is the Wolf King retaliating?”

Lyss said nothing but continued downward along Lu Xingye’s chest.

Lu Xingye suddenly realized what Lyss intended. His pupils constricted, and he sat up abruptly, “Wait a moment—”

But before he could finish, he froze. Lyss gently lifted the damp hair from his forehead and glanced at him.

With just that glance, Lu Xingye suddenly forgot what he wanted to say.

The night seemed endless, but the day of the rift’s reopening drew closer.

During his few waking moments each day, Lyss pondered two things: how they would survive and—

“Only two days left until the rift opens again. When are you going to give me the chip?” Lyss asked.

Lu Xingye, shirtless, stood at the cooking machine without looking up, “I’ve said it many times. When the Chief’s performance satisfies me, I’ll give you the chip.”

Lyss rubbed his uncomfortable neck. His throat was probably swollen these days in an attempt to satisfy Lu Xingye. Upon hearing Lu Xingye’s words, Lyss fell silent for a moment before asking, “…Is there really no chip at all?”

Lu Xingye paused, then casually shrugged, “Possibly. Maybe the chip was just something I made up to fool you.”

Lyss frowned at him, but Lu Xingye shrugged again, “We’re about to die anyway. Even if you get the chip, what difference would it make?”

Taking the nutrient fluid handed to him, Lyss, with a rare hint of emotion, said, “Before dying, I want to figure out who I really am.”

For some reason, Lu Xingye’s eyes held a hint of meaning. Lyss looked at him, but Lu Xingye didn’t continue.

On the last night, Lyss still felt there was a chance and didn’t want to sit idly by. Lu Xingye, didn’t share his sentiment. He lifted Lyss against the door, saying, “We’re about to die tomorrow anyway… We can just detonate the mecha, blow up the spatial rift along with the Imperial fleet outside.”

Lu Xingye had been acting mad these days, and Lyss didn’t take his words to heart. But in his current state of hovering, all Lyss could do was tremble slightly and say, “It’s not the end yet. Please put me down…”

Hearing this, Lu Xingye raised an eyebrow and somehow produced a chip from somewhere.

Lyss’s eyes widened suddenly. to prevent himself from falling, his hands could only cling to Lu Xingye’s neck. He couldn’t reach for the chip. He spoke quickly, a hint of urgency in his voice, “Give it to me. Maybe there’s still a chance if I read its contents.”

“My mother wrote this code. She researched here until she died, only then discovering that this rift would open on a certain day in the future,” Lu Xingye said casually, “After the third reboot, this space will collapse completely. Care to guess which day tomorrow is?”

Lyss’s pupils contracted. From Lu Xingye’s words, he immediately grasped a few hints. “…Did you tear out the last few pages of the diary?!”

Lu Xingye neither confirmed nor denied it. Instead, he placed the chip on Lyss’s collarbone, “This was made by my mother using special materials. It breaks easily when pinched, for convenient destruction when necessary. Moreover, this chip has been stored here for so long. Want to guess what would happen if it fell to the ground?”

Lyss suddenly understood his implication. A faint blush spread across his pale face like jade. Trembling, he said, “…Madman.”

Lu Xingye gave a bright, sunny smile. “Be careful, brother. Don’t blame me if the chip falls.”
