This question was a bit complicated, and Lin Lang was somewhat confused about whom Pelé was referring to. After pondering for a while, she finally spoke up, “Um… Are you referring to my mommy?”
It was only at this moment that Pelé suddenly realized the little girl always referred to Lyss as “mommy’ or “mama’. Initially, he wasn’t concerned about this; many children, especially in families where male omegas or male betas took on the birthing role, couldn’t distinguish the titles of family members when they were young. Almost sixty percent of children would call the omega who birthed them “mommy’.
In this aspect, female alphas held a better status. Humans inherently had an indescribable reliance on the position of a mother. Two mommies was generally more acceptable than having two daddies. There were even studies about this, roughly categorized as “Motherhood Exploration in the Interstellar Era”.
All these factors had completely made Pelé overlook the issue of Lin Lang’s address for Lyss. But now, he suddenly realized something was amiss.
“I’ve been talking about Mr. Lyss,” Pelé coaxed her, “Do you have another daddy, then?”
“Yes, I have a mommy and a daddy,” Lin Lang replied openly. “Aren’t you talking about my daddy?”
Pelé was stunned in place, his heart immediately cooling halfway. He put on a curious expression and asked, “What kind of person is Lin Lang’s daddy, and where is he now?”
“Daddy went far away. Mommy said I have to grow up a bit before I can see him,” even though Lin Lang was young, her memory was excellent. “I haven’t seen Daddy, but Mommy says he’s a young and handsome alpha, kind, and likes to play with me.”
Pelé’s heart that had halfway cooled suddenly jumped up again, beating more fervently than ever before—Lin Lang’s daddy was no longer around, and Mr. Lyss liked young alphas!
The combination of these two pieces of information was enough to drive him crazy.
Just as Pelé was about to swallow and ask something else, Lyss appeared with three beverages in hand.
Seeing his daughter tilting her head towards Pelé, as if they had just been conversing, he casually asked, “What were you talking about?”
Before Lin Lang could answer, Pelé hastily said, “Miss Lin Lang mentioned that you are very gentle at home… I was a bit surprised and talked a little more with her, but her understanding and responses amazed me. Is she really only five years old?”
Handing the milk to Lin Lang, Lyss said, “Actually, she’s not even five yet. Her birthday is in half a month. She always likes to say she’s a bit older.”
Taking a sip of milk, Lin Lang blinked and said, “Because I’ll get to see daddy faster if I grow up quickly.”
The whole living room fell silent upon these words.
A flicker of emotion passed through Lyss’s golden eyes. After a moment, he rubbed his daughter’s ears and said, “Yes, you’ll get to see daddy when you’re older… But I still want my baby to grow slowly.”
With that, he turned and sat on the sofa, handing a cup of plain water to Pelé, who realized later that Lyss had left him a cup of tea instead. Unable to resist, Pelé asked, “Does Mr. Lyss like drinking tea?”
“Well, it’s just a personal preference,” Lyss obviously didn’t want to dwell on the topic.
Seeing the bell in Lin Lang’s hand and thinking of the completely Serica name of the little girl, Pelé’s heart stirred and he tentatively inquired, “It seems that Mr. Lyss really likes Serica culture, doesn’t he?”
Lyss took a sip of his tea, then after a while, said, “Rather than liking Serica culture, it’s more that I’m reminiscing about some old acquaintances.”
A bitterness spread in his mouth, followed by a lingering sweetness.
Lyss liked this taste, just like the memories he kept recalling every night. The beginning of his memories was always bitter, but once he was asleep they became dreams that turned sweet.
Pelé seemed like he wanted to ask more, but the doorbell rang at that moment. Obviously, it was the delivery of groceries.
Setting down his teacup, Lyss gestured for Pelé to accompany him to fetch the groceries.
Serica cuisine was top-rated in the interstellar realm, but the cooking process was undeniably complex.
All morning, while Lin Lang played outside, Lyss kept an eye on Pelé in the kitchen.
Truth be told, Pelé’s techniques were indeed professional, and the dishes he prepared were exquisite, with great color, aroma, and taste. But to Lyss, it felt like something was missing.
At half-past eleven, all the dishes were ready, and Pelé even made a dessert-like pastry from some leftover ingredients. Its appearance resembled pink flowers and had a sweet peach flavor, making Lin Lang very happy.
“This is specially made for you by big brother. Do you like it?” Pelé smiled.
“I love it!” Lin Lang nodded incessantly. “Thank you, big brother!”
Pelé chuckled and explained, “The inspiration for this dessert comes from a Serica idiom, “Human face peach blossom.'”
After saying this, he tried to translate it, but Lin Lang, a bit puzzled, tilted her head. “Human face… peach blossom? What does that mean? Does a person’s face grow on a peach tree? Or is it a peach blossom that looks like a human face?… Daddy, it’s a bit scary.”
Just as Pelé was about to explain, Lyss spoke up, “On this day last year, within this gate, human faces are reflected in the peach blossoms. Where have the human faces gone, yet the peach blossoms still smile with spring breeze.”
Pelé was taken aback, “Does Mr. Lyss even know classical poetry?”
Lin Lang blinked her big eyes, “What do you mean?”
“I’ve only had the opportunity to read a little of it.” Lyss picked up the chopsticks, peeled the squirrel fish for his daughter, and explained, “The interpretation of this poem is that, at this time last year, someone in a courtyard saw peach blossoms. The person was handsome and the peach blossoms were beautiful, complementing each other. But this year at the same time, that person is nowhere to be found, yet the peach blossoms still bloom beautifully.”
Lin Lang stared at the fish, not ignoring Lyss’s words. The little girl was too young to fully understand, but she nodded as if she understood, “Why didn’t that person come to see the peach blossoms again?”
“Maybe he went far away.” Lyss explained, but his explanation seemed more like he was explaining to himself. “Just like I used to eat such sumptuous Serican cuisine, but the person who used to eat with me is no longer here.”
After saying that, he placed the deboned fish in Lin Lang’s bowl.
After the explosion, most of Earth’s species were almost extinct, and the fish used now were completely different species.
Lyss occasionally thought that without poetry, people might not know how to express the changes in life and things.
How things change… Thinking of this, Lyss looked at the table full of delicious food but suddenly lost his appetite.
Pelé noticed that he wasn’t eating, and even the apron was hesitant to take off, “Mr. Lyss… is it not to your liking?”
“No.” Lyss shook his head, looking at the large table of dishes. He couldn’t eat it all but didn’t want to waste it. “Are you going back to school?”
Pelé was stunned, “Yes.”
“At this time, there might not be anything to eat in the cafeteria.” Lyss picked up a shrimp for Lin Lang while saying, “How about eating before leaving?”
Pelé was so excited that he almost jumped up. Forgetting all the politeness, he quickly nodded and stammered, “Then, then I’ll trouble you!”
Even with one more person, there was still a bowl of seafood porridge leftover.
Objectively speaking, the dishes were delicious, even delicately carved. Lyss couldn’t taste much difference; to him, it seemed no different from nutrient paste.
It was only at this moment that he had to admit that perhaps he didn’t like Serican cuisine. What he liked was just that person.
But Lin Lang was very satisfied with the meal. The little girl, oblivious to hunger or fullness, leaned against Lyss after eating and coquettishly said, “Mommy… my belly is so full.”
“I told you not to eat so much.” Lyss said, but he still patiently rubbed her belly.
Pelé got a free meal out of nowhere, feeling a bit embarrassed. He volunteered to stand up and wash the dishes, and Lyss didn’t stop him.
As the sound of the dishwasher started, Lyss asked his drowsy daughter in his arms, “What did that brother talk to you about just now?”
Lin Lang, half-awake, said, “He asked me if I wanted another dad.”
In this regard, Lyss was quite slow. upon hearing this, he wasn’t slow but rather clueless.
Lyss frowned imperceptibly and then gently asked, “How did you answer?”
“I said, of course, I don’t want one…” Lin Lang rubbed against his shirt, “I already have one dad, and that’s enough.”
Lyss’s breath paused, and after a while, he lowered his head, “Mm-hmm, having one dad is enough, baby.”
“But Mommy…” The little girl raised her hand and gently tugged at Lyss’s silver hair, playing with it. With sleepy eyes, she said, “I feel like I’m a bit stupid. Last week, the teacher asked us to read a picture book, and after reading it, when we had to retell it… I didn’t do it well. Qiqi said I’m stupid and also said…”
When she got to this point, she suddenly stopped talking. Lyss immediately sensed that something was wrong and furrowed his brow, asking, “What else did he say?”
All of Lin Lang’s sleepiness disappeared, and she leaned pitifully in Lyss’s arms, “He said Chief Lord is so smart, but I’m dumb. It must be because my other dad or mom has bad genes…”
“Nonsense.” Lyss interrupted, his brow furrowed. “Your dad was consistently top in monthly assessments when he was in the military. Who dares to say your genes are bad?”
Lin Lang’s grievances were like a floodgate opening. The long-held emotions poured out, “He can’t even add three plus three and says I’m dumb… He also said he has three moms and one dad, which is much better than me, who only has one parent.”
Lyss was originally a bit angry, but hearing this, he was stunned, “Three moms?”
“Yeah.” The little girl pursed her lips. “He said his dad is a very handsome omega, very powerful, and immediately found three alpha moms for him.”
Although every nation followed a monogamous system, there were still quite a few people in power who were licentious. Moreover, some of these people regarded it as a bragging point. What surprised Lyss was that the words and actions of such people could actually influence children.
“Having three dads or three moms is not something to be proud of.” Lyss solemnly taught his daughter, “When you like someone, you should respect them seriously. There is no room for others in this kind of relationship, understand?”
Lin Lang nodded in a way that showed partial understanding, “I understand. But Qiqi said his three moms are powerful alphas… Can my dad beat them?”
After Lyss finished his serious teaching, he was surprised that Lin Lang cared about this. It was somewhat amusing and yet also exasperating. “He can, definitely.”
Lin Lang nodded very seriously in response, “Then when dad comes back, I’ll make sure he leaves Qiqi’s parents toothless!”
One could say she was truly the daughter of both Lyss and Lu Xingye, resorting to fists as her first response to situations.
Lyss playfully asked, “Why not let me go?”
“…Mommy is too beautiful,” Lin Lang’s response was unexpected. “Qiqi said his three alpha moms liked his dad because he was good-looking. You’re so good-looking, I’m afraid those three alphas might like you… then you’d become someone else’s mommy.”
Lyss hadn’t expected his daughter to worry about this. After a moment’s pause, a hint of a smile appeared in his eyes. “That won’t happen.”
As Lin Lang was still imagining the scenario of her dad causing a ruckus in the kindergarten, she twitched her ears upon hearing Lyss’s words. “I want to grow up quickly, Mommy. Is there any kind of magic medicine, like in the storybooks, that could make me grow up instantly?”
Her way of acting cute was truly inherited a hundred percent.
Lyss couldn’t help but take the terminal and divert her attention. “Didn’t you say you wanted to see the beautiful sister last time?”
She instantly shifted her focus, eyes lighting up. “Yes, I want to see!”
She didn’t like playing games or watching videos, her interests were quite peculiar, enjoying watching beautiful girls and handsome boys.
As Lyss was about to browse through an electronic magazine, Pelé emerged from the kitchen. “Mr. Lyss, I’ve washed and put away the dishes.”
“Thank you,” Lyss observed Pelé removing his apron, seeming ready to leave. “Are you heading out?”
“Yes, I have classes in the afternoon,” Pelé nodded. “Were you satisfied with today’s meal?”
Lyss nodded, “It was very delicious.”
He stood up to see Pelé off. Upon his remark, Pelé chuckled, “Mr. Lyss, feel free to contact me directly if you need anything next time.”
Lyss nodded, but before he could escort Pelé out, Lin Lang, seated on the couch, suddenly exclaimed, “Wow, this guy is so handsome!”
Initially unfazed, Lyss hadn’t taken it seriously. Lin Lang’s reading level wasn’t that high, and she adored people in pictures. She lifted her hand and tapped for an audio playback. The terminal immediately announced, “Recently, the Empire announced that the royal family has found the missing Sixth Prince after over twenty years, intending to invite individuals from all walks of life to the Imperial Palace…”
Lyss was stunned. He hadn’t even finished hearing the news when his heart suddenly constricted. He abruptly turned and asked, “Who?”
Lin Lang loved sharing wonderful things with others. Hearing Lyss’s question, she started to get off the couch. Seeing this, Lyss hurried over.
Lin Lang placed the terminal in front of him. A black wolf alpha in military attire stared intensely at the camera. His remarkably handsome face was incredibly familiar. He looked unusually young on the outside, yet his demeanor lacked any youthfulness. Instead, he seemed more like a teenage general who had conquered the starry skies than a prince.
Unexpectedly encountering the person who had been on his mind for five years, Lyss was left dumbstruck on the spot.
Author’s note:
Here comes the return of the crown prince. All irrelevant people, make way!

From previous chapters, i understood that this guy LXY has been hunted down by the royal families, so why now the royal families found him back and even make him the crown prince?
Bye Pelé.
Squealing with delight! I’ve missed LX.
Thank you both for the chapter.
