Chapter 51: Excessive

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

After a moment of confusion, Lu Xingye ignored Lyss’s resistance and asked while pressing the other’s shoulder, “What does my pheromone smell like?”

Lyss hesitated for a while and slowly discerned, “It carries some sweetness… a tea-like aroma.”

Surprise overwhelmed Lu Xingye’s senses. He immediately embraced Lyss, and the pheromones uncontrollably overflowed, enveloping Lyss in a strong tea fragrance. Throughout the many conscious years, Lyss had never smelled alpha pheromones. Now, unexpectedly, the first pheromones he smelled were released by the alpha who had marked him. Lyss was caught off guard. His vision momentarily whitened, his body momentarily stiffened uncontrollably, and after a brief freeze, the sweet nectar of white peaches exploded in the room.

Lyss couldn’t hold the chain in his hand; his fingers slid weakly along the leash. Lu Xingye, gripped his wrist, forcing him to continue holding the rope chain in front of his collar.

“You…” Lyss felt his breath trembling. Even in estrus, he had never experienced such a sensation. He couldn’t control himself and commanded, “Rein in the pheromones…”

Upon hearing this, Lu Xingye lowered his head and took in his glands. “Is my pheromone not… pleasant? Why does Brother like eating matcha cake? Is it because of me?”

Lyss was unable to speak as he was being licked. After breathing heavily for a few seconds, he trembled and said, “Because of you… Please…!”

Suddenly, fangs pierced his neck, and the few drops of blood that flowed were vigorously licked away. The potent alpha pheromone irresistibly infiltrated, causing Lyss to emit an indescribable whimper. Unconsciously pulling the chain, his strength was considerable, tightening the collar and causing a suffocating sensation in Lu Xingye’s mind, yet making him even more excited.

Tears streamed from Lyss’s dazed golden eyes. The scent of white peaches briefly disappeared from the room for a few seconds, then explosively returned, even overpowering the tea fragrance. Unconsciously whimpering, Lyss bit the tip of the tail that Lu Xingye brought to his mouth.

The feeling of biting his own tail in such a situation was like the final straw on the camel’s back. The bud-like stigma suddenly bloomed, and dew, fragrant, dripped. Just before losing his senses, Lyss finally realized Lu Xingye’s intentions. He wasn’t just making a temporary mark; he was trying to induce Lyss’s estrus through pheromones.

As limp as springwater, Lyss gasped as he was collared and weakly pulled in for a kiss. Lyss didn’t like the feeling of submission. His fingers scratched at Lu Xingye’s back, leaving a few blood-red marks, but his slight resistance only seemed to excite Lu Xingye more.

“Brother…” The darkest desires finally found fulfillment in Lu Xingye’s eyes, his love and possessiveness almost overflowing. “I love you.”

Even Lyss’s eyelashes were moistened by tears. Struggling, he tilted his head to kiss back, “I love you too…”

In this state, that statement was immensely impactful, almost instantly driving Lu Xingye to lose his sanity. Regarding what followed, Lyss actually felt a slight regret. Being forced to call someone master while pulled by the tail and the chain in front was a bit much, even for him. But he couldn’t help it.

Compared to the Lu Xingye who was always evasive and unclear about everything in front of him, he preferred this passionate and slightly obsessive puppy. He liked the straightforwardness of the other, so there was only a bit of regret; the predominant feelings were pleasure and satisfaction.

The only downside was that Lu Xingye said he wanted to enter the reproductive cavity just as a statement. In the end, despite Lyss being overwhelmed by pheromones, softening his stance and begging by using his tail to entice Lu Xingye, the latter could still restrain himself. The reason was simple—there was a risk of pregnancy, and until he had Lin Lang’s opinion, he couldn’t make such decisions lightly.

Lu Xingye was extremely principled in this regard, and Lyss felt his ears drooping at that point. Rubbing the soft wolf ears, he said in a pitiful manner, “Master, I really want to go in.”

He said this while pulling the chain in front of Lyss, showing a rather twisted sense of humor.

Helpless and teary, Lyss said, “If you want to go in, then come in.”

“You can’t, brother will get pregnant if I go in,” Lu Xingye affectionately kissed his neck, sounding even more aggrieved, “Why is brother so easily pregnant?”

Lyss felt aggrieved, even more so than Lu Xingye. This was a classic case of the culprit crying wolf first. Lyss wanted to scold him but was silenced by a kiss imbued with the fragrance of tea. Eventually, he couldn’t utter a single word.

Lyss couldn’t remember when he lost consciousness. When he woke up again, it was already noon the next day. His eyelashes quivered, and faint light seeped into his eyes.

Lyss took a moment to start the blank slate of his mind. The almost-breaking sensation was vividly remembered. Subconsciously biting his lower lip, he looked around and realized Lu Xingye wasn’t there. The room seemed unfamiliar, clearly not the one from last night. He slowly sat up, the blanket sliding off his body. Learning from previous experiences, this time Lyss didn’t inspect his body but instead turned to look at the bedside table.

It was already noon. After the recent events, Lyss suddenly remembered the Federation’s matters. Even though he needed to conduct external visits for the Empire these days, the Federation’s affairs still required his attention. Headquarters would contact him promptly at eight every morning.

The current time had obviously passed eight o’clock. After regaining his senses, Lyss hurriedly sat up from the bed and reached for the clothes prepared by Lu Xingye beside him to put them on before leaving. It wasn’t until he put the clothes on that he realized how ill-fitting they were, barely covering anything. It was hard to say why Lu Xingye would buy such clothes alone. Lyss stayed silent for three seconds before taking them off and changing into a robe.

Pushing open the bedroom door, a familiar fragrance hit Lyss. His steps paused before he could inquire, and then he heard the cheerful laughter of his daughter along with the sound of bells. “Wow—I’ve always heard stories about princesses being captured by evil dragons, and then knights coming to rescue them. Daddy, your story is so different!”

Lu Xingye and Lin Lang were sitting on the carpet, seemingly telling stories. Seeing this, Lyss walked over. Both of them looked up upon hearing his footsteps. Lin Lang joyfully reached out, “Mommy, you’re awake?”

Lyss bent down to pick up his daughter and asked, “What story did daddy tell you?”

“Daddy said, a long, long time ago, there was a hero cursed into an evil dragon.” The little girl narrated seriously, “The evil dragon liked the princess but didn’t want to harm her. As the curse deepened day by day, the evil dragon finally lost control. He kidnapped the princess and imprisoned her like a precious treasure.”

Hearing this, Lyss glanced at Lu Xingye, whose eyes seemed evasive. He lowered his head and asked, “And then?”

“Then, the princess tamed the evil dragon.” Lin Lang obediently repeated the story her father had just told her, completely oblivious to anything wrong, “The evil dragon couldn’t revert to being a hero, but the princess didn’t mind. Eventually, the evil dragon became the most loyal knight to the princess… But I don’t understand one thing. Even though the princess could escape, why did she choose to tame the evil dragon?”

Lyss pinched his daughter’s puzzled little face, speaking in an incredibly gentle tone, “Because the princess liked the evil dragon. No matter what the hero turned into, he was still the person he loved the most. How could he choose to run away just because the other person was cursed?”

Using ‘he’ instead of ‘she,’ Lyss continued. Lin Lang, didn’t pick up on it at all. After a brief moment of confusion, she suddenly realized, “I see!”

Lu Xingye’s face heated up. He hadn’t felt embarrassed last night when he acted crazily with Lyss. Now, he felt awkward because of a few words from the latter.

Seeing this, Lyss chuckled. Just as he was about to say something, Lin Lang suddenly gently grasped his wrist, “Mommy, why is your wrist red? Did you bump into something?”

Both Lyss and Lu Xingye were stunned upon hearing this. Lyss’s wrist still bore the marks from last night.

“I…” After coming back to his senses, Lyss glanced around and diverted the conversation, “I haven’t negotiated with headquarters today. Regarding the Empire’s intentions to resume Chudai, there are differing opinions from the council… I’ll go contact headquarters.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Xingye immediately lifted the daughter from Lyss’s arms, “Let’s go, sweetie, let’s have lunch with Daddy.”

The little girl was immediately diverted. She obediently said to Lyss, “Mommy, hurry up. Daddy made pork rib soup and rice today.”

Feeling a bit guilty about the concern his daughter showed for him, Lyss discreetly covered his wrist and softly said after giving Lu Xingye a glance, “Okay.”

Opening the terminal, the people from headquarters were predictably going frantic. Lyss brushed past what happened last night, and when the other party was about to continue asking, he redirected the question, “What’s the council’s stance?”

After the massive overhaul five years ago, the upper echelons of Triss were finally a bit cleaner. Concerning the Empire’s plans to resume Chudai, it involved more than just one country or region. Faced with such an important matter, the council’s stance aligned with Lyss’s—temporarily suspending the issue until they had an understanding of the Empire’s actual intentions, neither agreeing nor objecting.

Considering Lyss hadn’t brought many people with him for this visit, assuming it was just for attending a banquet, it was evident that the Empire’s intentions were more than just hosting a banquet. With three days left until the end of this visit, to prevent any surprises, Lyss proactively suggested, “Have Lillia bring a few people here by this afternoon.”

After saying this, Lyss hung up. He trusted Lillia’s ability to handle things and didn’t worry much.

After lunch, Lyss casually mentioned that some people from the Federation would be coming in the afternoon. Lu Xingye paused upon hearing this, “Who?”

“You know her, Lillia, and a few secretaries.” Lyss observed Lin Lang drawing as he spoke, “There’s a dinner tonight. I’m worried the Prime Minister might cause some trouble again, so bringing a few people would be convenient.”

Lu Xingye seemed to have some thoughts and furrowed his brows slightly, “I’ll go with you.”

Lyss leaned into his embrace and then addressed Lin Lang, “Sweetie.”

Lin Lang looked up, “What’s wrong, Mommy?”

Lyss said, “Aunt Lillia will come this afternoon. You, me, and daddy will go and welcome her.”

Lin Lang nodded obediently, “Okay, Mommy.”

“One more thing.” Lyss looked at Lu Xingye, “When there are others present, call Daddy ‘brother.’ Understand?”

The hand around his waist tightened. Afraid that Lu Xingye might misunderstand, Lyss was about to explain but heard him chuckle softly and say, “Does the Prime Commander like it that exciting?”

Lyss paused, then lightly nudged him with his arm, “Shut up.”

Although Lin Lang didn’t understand why she had to call him ‘brother,’ she obediently nodded, “Okay.”

Everything was calm and pleasant until Lillia and her team arrived on a starship in the afternoon.

Lu Xingye stood by Lyss and Lin Lang at the hall’s entrance, waiting. Lillia, being the Chief’s Secretary, was accustomed to high society and showed no change in her demeanor upon seeing Lu Xingye. “Good day, Chief, Prince.”

Lyss nodded, and Lu Xingye smiled, “Good day, Miss Lillia.”

After Lu Xingye finished speaking, he stopped abruptly. He keenly sensed a hint of hostility and turned to look, finding a young white wolf alpha frowning at him.

Lu Xingye paused in his speech, maintaining his smile. Then, he turned to Lyss and said, “Apart from Miss Lillia, I don’t know anyone here. Mr. Silverfang, care to introduce?”

As soon as Lyss heard this address, he sensed something amiss. But before he could figure out why Lu Xingye suddenly seemed displeased again, Lillia proactively introduced, “This is Mr. Ariel, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; and this is…”

After the introductions, when it came to the white wolf alpha, she suddenly hesitated for a moment before maintaining a composed expression, “This is a newly recruited intern secretary, Lin Xi.”

Lin Xi extended a hand, “Hello, Your Highness.”

Lu Xingye didn’t take it. Instead, he glanced at Lyss, and Lyss’s heart skipped a beat, suddenly recalling what had happened. He thought, ‘This can’t be good.’

Sure enough, Lu Xingye turned to Lin Lang and smiled, “I heard about you. Were you the one who messaged Mr. Silverfang at the banquet the night before yesterday?”

The author’s note:

No arena, just wanted to find an excuse to give the Chief some excitement (lights a cigarette).”
