âIt was a trap.â
Xie Shuci’s nails slowly elongated, revealing a luminous light blue glow.
The sharp nails easily cut through the tough leather of the seat, but while resting on Ming Huan’s shoulder, he compulsively put his sharp claws away before he returned to his normal human form.
However, his fingertips still pinched Ming Huan’s shoulder blades.
“Are you having a hard time?” Ming Huan endured the pain, “Didn’t the inhibitor work?”
Xie Shuci’s teeth clenched.
His eyes completely transformed into vertical pupils, and the originally dark pupils suddenly shone with a ghostly blue light.
Ming Huan did not turn around and noticed Xie Shuci endure for a while. He then took two medical bags towards the bottom of the narrow hatch before he huddled outside the cold metal door while hugging his arms and shivering while sitting.
âThis won’t do.â
Ming Huan eyed the distance of the starship and the movements of the hunting fighter overhead.
After deliberating, he still felt that he had some chance of winning.
More importantly, he didn’t care. However, Xie Shuci was going through a differentiation situation. He was on his hot period, and he could not let such an omega fall into the hands of the Empire as a prisoner.
“I’ll blow up this Pursuit-type fighter first.”
“W, what?”
“Without it, that starship can’t locate our position.”
“You’re crazy!”
Xie Shuci turned on the communication device directly with his permission. This was just in case he wanted to send a distress signal to Capital Star first. However, his consciousness was already a little blurred when he was operating with double shadows in front of him. He couldn’t concentrate at all, and he didn’t know whether the transmission was successful or not.
At the top, Ming Huan’s voice came through firmly.
“Shuci, you are omega, and are still in the differentiating period of heat, do not worry, I will protect you. I’m the one who brought you here, no matter what happens, I’ll bring you back safely.” Ming Huan slammed down the start button and immediately began to draw the battle pole upward, “We must leap within ten minutes, otherwise the starship will close and if it is completely locked, it will really not be able to start the leap to escape. You go down there first and take a rest, don’t affect me.”
Xie Shuci became a little panicked for a moment, but he was still afraid of his pheromone influence so he got up and stepped back, “Ming Huan, now is not the Junior commander exam, once something happens, we will both die!”
“It will not happen.” Ming Huan looked up at the warplanes hovering overhead like flies that annoy people. The light brown eyes instantly shrunk into vertical pupils. “This hunter type fighter. I have the ability to fix it- so I have the ability to blow it up.”
The fighter hovered over the other side as it did not seem to anticipate their sudden escape, and it hesitated a few seconds before urgently locating the lock. Without Xie Shuci’s assistance, Ming Huan was alone as he was maneuvering the fighter to take off while preparing for the leap. He was obviously struggling a bit more, and he was not as comfortable as his words suggested.
He had always spoken arrogantly, and it was not for a day or two.
Xie Shuci was worried.
Ming Huan stretched out his tail and helped him adjust on the numerical control screen on the side assisted driving seat.
After about three minutes, Xie Shuci’s ragged and raspy gasps stopped.
Ming Huan did not have air conditioning to see what was going on inside the isolation bin. He only vaguely judged from the sound of breathing that Xie Shuciâs state should have restored some.
Ming Huan asked, “Better?”
Xie Shuci unexpectedly did not answer. His head was hanging with a little bit of hair stained with sweat that was blocking his eyebrows.
“Yeah.”
It took a while before a breathing sound was heard.
âIt should still be hard.â
Ming Huan’s mood was a little heavy. Had he known that Xie Shuci would differentiate so quickly, he would not have applied to bring him with him this time to complete the mission.
Xie Shuci’s face was pale, and he wiped the sweat from his forehead as if he was a little tired, “I’m better now. I will help you.”
Ming Huan stared at the hunting fighter overhead and suddenly said, “You stay there, don’t come out.”
Xie Shuci said, “I have to help you.”
“No need.” Ming Huan’s eyes were dark as he stared ahead at the approaching starship, “Although I pushed the isolator for a while, your omega pheromone is so thick that it will probably trigger my differentiation phase syndrome. So for now, it’s better if we keep a little distance. Better yet, keep the storage door closed.”
Xie Shuci seemed to freeze for a long time with an unknown glint in his dark pupils. He very weakly made a âhmmâ sound before he closed the storage door in silence.
After Xie Shuci closed the hatch behind him, he remembered one thing.
That was the special energy range of that one starship which was one million kilometers. That distance just now was already within the range.
However, Ming Huan said that if he blew up the hunter-type fighter within ten minutes, he could escape without any problemâŠ.
In fact, it couldn’t be done.
âDid Ming Huan not think it through?â
He had to remind Ming Huan.
If he could blow up the fighter overhead, then the starship could not actively locate them.
However, as soon as Ming Huan prepared to leap again, a rift was torn in the universe, and it must have been instantly located before it was locked again.
In less than three seconds, the leap rift would force a closure.
This little time was not enough for this train of fighters to complete the leap.
The Pierce was just an ordinary leap detection fighter, and it was unable to open the leap continuously or open two leap rifts at the same time.
“Ming Huan, don’t blow up that rare hunting fighter! You’ll piss off the Imperial side so just surrender! We can’t escape!”
Xie Shuci’s voice couldn’t get through the narrow hatch that was closed, which seemed incredibly sturdy.
Suddenly, there was a huge tremor in the fuselage, and Xie Shuci saw from the narrow bit of the transparent window that the enemy fighter overhead exploded instantly like a heavenly maiden, splashing stars and fires in all directions churned up in the dark cosmic gale.
The little firelight shone on Xie Shuci’s face, making his face pale.
Ming Huan actually did it.
In just three minutes, he actually blew up the Imperial zl598, the top hunter type fighter that had been hovering overhead for a long time.
That one fighter was completely destroyed, not a bit of wreckage left, leaving only a separate cabin thrown in the direction of the starship, which should be the pilot.
âWait, a separate pod.â
Xie Shuci seemed to think of something and began to beat desperately on the door of the independent compartment. However, the surrounding structure rapidly changed, and the bulkhead that had allowed him to move away continued to squeeze inward. Along with his medical bag and the small robot, the space was compressed to the point where it was almost impossible to easily twist.
It was a single, self-contained pod!
Xie Shuci remembered with a jolt that this one fighter, being an excellent reconnaissance machine, had a separate leap function for the independent pod – a feature opened for the easy transportation of energy stones on ancient battlefields.
Three seconds was not enough for the whole fighter to complete the leap, but it was enough to throw a small independent pod into the leap rift.
A great fear clutched Xie Shuci’s heart.
Ming Huan said he was just a weak omega and must be sent home.
âSo, this was how he was sent?â
âHe meant to send him home alone.â
âBut what about Ming Huan, who was left behind?â
The first thing he did was to blow up the rare Imperial hunter plane, and like a cunning rabbit, he let his companion return to Federation Capital Star with the energy stones. How should Ming Huan face the questioning of the Imperial superiors?
Xie Shuci saw a gap in the void ripped open at the rift, and it was Ming Huan who was forcefully launching the leap.
Almost simultaneously, the opposite starship that had just released its lock immediately did as Xie Shuci had predicted –
It once again instantly locked the direction.
The leap opening, which had just barely been torn open, was instantly suppressed.
âNo, don’t.â
Xie Shuci struggled to climb out, he couldn’t leave Ming Huan alone in Sector 18!
The independent pods shook slightly as if quickly lifting from a small gap, and the hatch was tightly and completely covered.
It popped out with great speed and was hurled towards the widest direction in the center of the rift.
â–You are omega.â
â–I’m going to protect you.â
The independent pod rushed out the last minute.
It completed the leap.
In the infinite universe, the rift closed and everything reverted to an appalling silence.

Federation. Capital Star. Military meeting.
The urgent news of the battle situation flashed on everyone’s terminal.
The moment that they saw the brief report, everyone’s expression was slightly stagnant. They glanced at the admiral sitting at the top with a wary eye.
The secret mission to the black star in the eighteenth district had an accident.
A survey mission simply cannot be dangerous. Even if there was an accident, the most that would happen would be that youâd be in the wrong place, lost, or was stuck where your energy was exhausted, unable to return. Thus, it would ask Capital Star for help.
âWhat trouble could a group of children who have not seen the world get in?â
None of them could possibly think of a way to solve the problem.
The lieutenant general who was against letting Ming Huan, a Junior commander, pilot the Pierce, rubbed his chin and leaned back lazily, “I told you, no Junior commander could pilot the Pierce through the leap. Not to mention, those were just two cadets.”
“Must have leapt to the wrong location, but fortunately, at least it went to the eighteenth district, the approximate location of the area is still correct, just not near the Black Star.”
Soon, more detailed reports came in.
Ming Huan leap location point was accurate, and they did not waste a dime of energy. It was a success.
âButâŠ.â
âThey had been ambushed by the Empire.â
At this point, the conference table was silent.
“What’s going on?” Yu Hanzhou quickly contacted the monitoring station in the 18th district to give some support, and at the same time tried to communicate with the distant survey warplane.
However, it did not receive a timely response.
“Give me the precise positioning.” Yu Hanzhou immediately interrupted the meeting and cast the location of the Pierce in the center of the conference table – it was indeed still in the eighteenth district.
Then, it was just thirty seconds
The signal instantly disappeared.
The eighteenth district monitoring station quickly sent a message.
“The Pierce-“
“Crashed.”
Yu Hanzhou’s face changed sharply, “What?!”

Well.. before it seems like empire too is interested in MH. He will be alright. Just wondering if admiral will launch an attack or sneak in secretly to save MH. I guess MH might feel happier since he can get away from the federation(YH) and may be started to realize his plan of retirement
I bet MH has a secret move to cleverly escapeđâșïž
Oh crap we’re all in trouble đ
I hope Xie Shuci made it out safely and Ming Huan is alright!
Wow, he did it and fought back! Certainly brave in protecting XS.
What now, I wonder đŹ
YH won’t sit still, that’s for sure.
Thank you both for the chapter.
