Chapter 22: Medical Examination Report

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

“Beta…. Could be okay too, I guess.” Ming Huan said.

The surface of the tea in Xie Shuci’s cup finally rippled slightly.

There was the blurred reflection of his eyes.

Xie Shuci was still a very quiet child, sometimes talking and then silent.

Ming Huan often felt that he was well behaved and sweet.

However, the silence at this moment seemed to be very different.

Ming Huan felt awkward for some reason.

“Oh, this.” Xie Shuci quietly responded.

“You don’t look too good, are you not feeling well?” Ming Huan took out his medical bag from his carry-on space and responded by turning it over, “Oh, there’s only alpha inhibitors here….”

‘One, two.’

‘Hm?’

‘How is it only two? Yu Hanzhou had always given him three for his medical bag.’

Ming Huan’s eyes flashed a trace of doubt as he fiddled with it while looking through it. He mumbled the rest of his words, “…. If you don’t feel well, you still have to go to the hospital to get an inhibitor.”

While saying this, he counted once more.

There was really one less alpha inhibitor.

“I’m sorry, I was so busy at that time, I broke an inhibitor,” Xie Shuci’s eyes were a little panicked, and he explained in a hoarse voice.

‘Oh, oh, so this is what happened.’

‘Come on, what’s the matter? Look at the boy’s panic.’

“How much does an inhibitor cost? You just broke it. It’s okay.” Ming Huan generously pinched Xie Shuci’s hand in comfort and found that it was actually cold as ice. He thought that the poor child was scared, “If you don’t feel well, you must go to the hospital. Do you want to go with me?”

“No discomfort.”

“Ah!” Ming Huan slammed his hand, “Are you hungry? If you’re hungry, you’ll be in a bad mood for some reason. Don’t worry, there’s plenty of meat at home, let’s go fry a steak.”

Ming Huan was now in a position to shoot for his beloved agrarian planet.

His mind was stable, and he walked with the wind at his feet as if he was simply about to fly.

He decided to cook for Xie Shuci himself.

“Where’s the meat?”

The AI robot housekeeper had a program command triggered and went straight to Ming Huan before following his heels no more than three steps away. It just walked from the living room to the kitchen, and from the kitchen to the storage room.

Ming Huan did not often go into the kitchen, but sometimes he was hungry in the middle of the night and would sneak in to find some food. The kitchen was built with Yu Hanzhou’s height in mind, and many of the storage cabinets were out of his reach even when he stood on his tiptoe.

So he hid a small bench in the bottom of the small cabinet.

Yu Hanzhou did not know.

If he knew, he would have laughed at him again for being a small dwarf since he was obviously a powerful dragon alpha that was unable to grow taller.

Ming Huan peeked outside the kitchen, and when Xie Shuci didn’t follow, he stepped on the small bench to open the topmost storage cabinet to look for the best beef.

“Ming Huan, what are you doing?”

Xie Shuci suddenly heard a thud and a clang so he came to check. Just after pushing open the kitchen door, he saw Ming Huan’s thin legs lifted upward as he stepped on a small stool on his tiptoe. The ingredients were tossed all over the floor.

Xie Shuci went to his side and reached out to lift the uppermost beef out for him.

Ming Huan found that even with him stepping on the small stool, he was actually looking at eye-level with Xie Shuci.

Big eyes stared at each other for three seconds.

Xie Shuci handed the beef to Ming Huan, but Ming Huan did not take the initiative to pick it up.

“Put it back.”

“…?”

“Put it back.”

Xie Shuci carried the beef and said, “Didn’t I already help take it down?”

“I can get it too!”

‘I’m short, but not that short!’

Ming Huan grabbed Xie Shuci’s beef and threw it hard into the locker, but he didn’t expect it to be thrown too hard into the depths.

Then he stood on his tiptoes to reach for it again, but he couldn’t reach it.

His face was a little red.

Xie Shuci did not understand at once what he was doing, and saw Ming Huan suddenly seemed to have a temper as he was stamping his feet on the small stool underneath in a rough manner that was enough to make a crack. One foot raised sideways, and the whole body skewed to the side as he shoved his head into the cabinet.

Due to the doubly high residence, the nightgown was pulled upwards which revealed a small section of delicate skin at the waist. He leaned on the edge of the cabinet, which caused a small striking red mark to be pressed to his waist.

That little red mark was piercing.

Ming Huan’s lean waistline was perfect, and his thin skin was overlaid on bright lines of muscle which were lean and white.

A narrow little section that captured Xie Shuci’s attention.

His throat could not help but move up and down.

He suddenly walked up and crouched slightly before he held Ming Huan’s thighs to lift the person higher.

Ming Huan did not expect Xie Shuci’s sudden lift and his upper body leaned back. A wide palm pressed against his back to hold him.

“Can’t you ask for help? Otherwise, the stool will crack.”

Ming Huan looked down to see that the stool really had cracked, and a bit of flesh on his abdomen was rubbed painfully. He held Xie Shuci’s shoulders, almost sitting on his arm.

The soft cotton pajamas stuck tightly on and rubbed his stomach.

“Do not hold me.”

“Let’s get engaged.” Xie Shuci did not let go, and the other hand naturally overlapped at his back to support him, “Our match is the highest. So, let’s get engaged.”

“But, there doesn’t seem to be any liking.” Ming Huan frowned as today’s Xie Shuci felt a little different.

His palms were extra hot.

“Say, if we are engaged, we can slowly get along for it to become like. It’s pre-matching with the highest matching degree between people. Our match is the one that the system finally acknowledges after the most sophisticated testing.”

Xie Shuci tilted his head to look at Ming Huan’s chin.

Ming Huan lowered his head slightly, and the tip of his nose could almost brush against Xie Shuci’s face.

This made Ming Huan strain his neck, and he unnaturally did not open his eyes, “Shuci, there is my staging syndrome, leaning too close may cause the omega pheromone to trigger the symptoms….”

Xie Shuci froze but did not release him.

“I put an isolation patch on, and used an inhibitor. it’s okay, my pheromone will not affect you.” He explained softly, “Ming Huan. we are engaged, okay.”

‘Xie Shuci was extra-’

‘How do you say, clingy?’

‘And it’s not like he was clingy before.’

It was like he was looking at a window display of a beautiful doll that he liked, or a small animal, and wanted to buy it.

Ming Huan looked at the omega, who was half a head taller than him, and stood on tiptoe to touch the back of his head to soothe him, “Behave, wait until you graduate and then we’ll talk about these things.”

Xie Shuci tightened his grip.

Ming Huan was a little breathless from the pressure on his waist, and he thought that a soft and lovely young omega had such great strength.

‘Is this the omega that was scared?’

When he broke free, Xie Shuci’s head suddenly twisted, as if hearing a sound. Ming Huan saw the lights outside the house had all turned on, followed by the sound of Yu Hanzhou’s footsteps coming.

Seeing Ming Huan and Xie Shuci alone in the room with an ambiguous attitude, the atmosphere was marvelous. The house was also filled with the strong smell of isolates, but without the pheromone scent of an omega.

His eyes glanced at the back of Xie Shuci’s neck, and he really saw the isolation patch.

Yu Hanzhou, “….”

‘–In order to meet him, Ming Huan asked a passionate omega to put an isolation patch on his gland.’

‘It’s really a love affair.’

Yu Hanzhou’s face did not look good.

“Ming Huan, you forgot what the doctor said.”

Ming Huan couldn’t put on his shoes and went out barefoot, explaining anxiously, “No, Shuci is looking for something today, since he has differentiated, I will also try to meet him less….”

Yu Hanzhou stayed at the military headquarters until now.

It was sure enough that he had completed the task but the decision to blow up the Pierce alone caused a lot of trouble for Yu Hanzhou.

According to the experience of spending three years together in the past, Ming Huan knew that after giving Yu Hanzhou trouble, he must learn to behave better.

“Come.” Yu Hanzhou didn’t have time to care about Xie Shuci and loosened the buttons on his sleeves before he took off his military jacket. The well-cut shape of the clothes set off his figure, even the movement was awe-inspiring.

“Differentiation, and blowing the plane up are the two things that happened so a word by word must be prepared, all clearly elaborated. If it indicates shirking responsibility, or is vague, then you’ll be directly punished by the Ministry of the Military.” Yu Hanzhou was concise.

Ming Huan had been mentally prepared, but did not really know the extent of it. Xie Shuci was anxious first, “I differentiated and drugged him down. If there are sanctions….”

“He is just an omega, and all the punishments will be taken.” Ming Huan never hesitated about guarding the weak omega. The AI housekeeper began to ask Xie Shuci to leave.

Ming Huan made the decision to blow up the Pierce when he did.

He knew that he had to give a proper delivery.

So at this moment facing Yu Hanzhou, he was not very flustered as he was still playing the script in a serious way. Yu Hanzhou looked at his bare feet and asked, “Where are your shoes?”

The AI robot butler brought him a pair, and Ming Huan stepped on clean cotton slippers before he followed Yu Hanzhou from behind to the study on the second floor – the most strongly shielded place in the entire residence.

To be honest, Ming Huan hadn’t figured out what to tell Yu Hanzhou.

Since this explanation could not be rounded into a full circle, he had to hide part of the truth. He had to at least cover up the matter that he had helped the Imperials repair the warplane to earn extra money. He still needed to go buy the agricultural planet later.

Feeling heavy-hearted, his steps were getting slower and slower.

It was only two flights of stairs, but it was so hard for him that it almost took him ten minutes.

Yu Hanzhou also did not rush. In the study, there were leather seats to deal with official business. The slow and orderly son had a very good temper.

Ming Huan felt that when facing Yu Hanzhou, he couldn’t properly think of what to say and uselessly could only touch the stone river as he first threw out a general explanation, waiting for Yu Hanzhou to have targeted questions before he then added, “Go to that star ball, small robots were digging out this batch of energy stones and found that these energy stones are not ordinary. The energy density stored on the surface is very high, so high that it can even be used for leapfrogging….”

” A quick look and you found it?”

Yu Hanzhou asked.

“Also…. A guess. Probably only…. Seventy percent sure.”

Yu Hanzhou liked to wear his glasses when he handled relevant official documents, but not the pair of black-rimmed glasses that he wore when in civilian clothes which trimmed his face. This time, he wore the rimless military special one with the information processing notes function. Besides its effect, the appearance alone was very expensive.

Yu Hanzhou stopped to approve the official documents, and the eyes under the lens swept towards Ming Huan’s feet.

Without looking directly at Ming Huan, he felt as if his toes were stuck like pins and needles.

“Seventy percent sure, yet dared to blow up. If the value of this pile of broken stones does not even offset an ordinary warplane, be ready to take what the Ministry of the Military wants.”

‘Be angry.’

Yu Hanzhou eyebrows wrinkled. Facing this kind of public affairs, whether it was his studies, exams, or learning skills, his attitude would be very strict and serious as he was trying to constantly help him analyze the problem in order to fix the intensity of the learning direction.

This time, it was not ordinary studying.

It was a secret mission from the military department.

Ming Huan really had the illusion that he was a subordinate of Yu Hanzhou as he was doing a mission report.

“Sorry, Admiral,” Ming Huan said with a normal attitude, “Actually, some information needs to be checked, so that there is some judgment about whether those energy stones can be used as leap materials. If we didn’t blow up the Pierce, we will be caught by the Empire and will definitely be at a disadvantage in the subsequent interstellar court for the right to develop the mining star – we could only make the decision that is most favorable to the Federation at that time.”

Ming Huan cunningly steered the conversation toward the outcome.

He was trying to convince Yu Hanzhou with a results-only theory.

“Was the decision right, Admiral?”

Yu Hanzhou observed Ming Huan’s expression, and as if he suddenly found something interesting, he silently moved his glasses down a little.

His nose bridge was high, and the profile of Yu Hanzhou’s side face looked even colder in the dim light and shadow.

“What kind of material did you read about?”

“Because it is restricted material, I looked after this side of the storage space had been all eliminated, and can not remember where to find the source files, it should be in the empire’s ancient books.”

Yu Hanzhou put down the pen, and his slender fingers crossed before resting on the knee.

His eyes were comparable to scrutiny.

“Much ado about nothing, Mr. Commander.”

Ming Huan’s back suddenly went cold.

Yu Hanzhou got up neatly and walked to Ming Huan’s side with cold leather shoes on the ground. His footsteps thumped, thumping even closer and closer, “To enroll in so many courses, shouldn’t there be an additional ‘interrogation class’? Otherwise with this level of response, if you fall into the hands of those officers of the Empire, certainly a little secret can not be hidden.”

‘Fuck.’

‘Is there a loophole in what I just said, where is it?’

‘I can’t find the loophole to cover up.’

Ming Huan deliberately repeated but did not realize that the suspicious eyes had already betrayed him, and Yu Hanzhou saw the slight deception of his heart that was revealed.

Yu Hanzhou’s voice was not as slow as when Ming Huan had first stepped into the room.

“Tell me clearly, what is the judgment that the energy stone on that planet is worth much more than a leap detection ancient warplane?”

‘How else could it be judged?’

‘Because he personally repaired one, but also personally put that energy stone on the plane.’

‘Could not say such details.’

‘Could also let people earn a little extra money with a little privacy.’

“Talk.”

It was probably because the question was too solemn and close to his ears with the SSS-Level adult dragon deterrent, Ming Huan instantly was covered in sweat and the hair on the back of his neck raised.

What’s worse was that he could vaguely smell the faint scent of alpha pheromones.

‘Fresh and cold.’

‘Indefinable, like the smell of the forest and snowy mountains.’

‘Isolation agent -’

‘Failure.’

Ming Huan felt like his breath was blocked for a moment as if he was unable to catch his breath like it had been caught in his throat, and the back of his neck began to ache hotly.

He should have been thinking about how to make extra money by repairing warplanes for the Empire.

He didn’t know why, but when he looked at Yu Hanzhou again, tears sprang up in his eyes.

He covered his face and squatted down. His eyes were red and his shoulders were trembling slightly.

“Ming Huan, how?” Yu Hanzhou’s tone also changed, and he stretched to help him up. However, he was turned away .

Ming Huan covered his neck, and his eyes sharpened, as if to endure great aggression.

Pushing back Yu Hanzhou’s arm was powerless with a few slaps in a row on his metal cufflinks, and it only caused him heartache.

“The mission was to help dig up ore, and it’s been done! And I also helped blow up an Imperial hunting fighter! Also risked blowing myself up to help solve the subsequent court martial directly! Tell me, but this mission is not complete, that mining star – Federation has lost for sure! This Pierce fighter, also must be lost! In the end, it’s just blowing up a leapfrog reconnaissance fighter! Do so much, but no credit is given, this point of error is not being let go!”

Ming Huan could not get up the strength to hit him and angrily hit a fierce foot on Yu Hanzhou’s leather boots, “It is owed to me! This energy stone is worth a lot of money, just a few of them are worth that one fighter, this is a rare leap material! I used it, so that’s how I know!”

‘Extreme mood swings.’

‘It’s staging syndrome.’

‘It seemed to be Ming Huan’s isolator failed – actually failed so quickly.’

‘Could it be that he was close to differentiating?’

Xie Shuci had been gone for a while, and he was still wearing the isolation patch in the house. There were no other omegas.. Ming Huan should not be so seriously stimulated.

Yu Hanzhou opened the medical bag and grabbed Ming Huan’s shoulder before he twisted it to see that his neck was getting red again. He decisively pushed another isolator on him.

Ming Huan looked hard, and the tip of his nose was red.

The eyelashes were wet with a slight teardrop.

After pushing the isolator, he quietly wiped his eyes and leaned against Yu Hanzhou’s arms to catch his breath for a while.

“Why do you do this to me….” He questioned breathlessly, “I’m not yet graduated, not yet your subordinate….”

“My intention was to make a verbal mission report.” Yu Hanzhou was slapped backwards and was not annoyed, “It was to first trick you and avoid the seriousness of the situation.”

Ming Huan slowly breathed and finally could not smell Yu Hanzhou’s pheromone.

“Then avoid it–“

Ming Huan rolled his eyes because the degree of impatience to speak at the end of the trailing voice dragged on a little long. It sounded a little petulant.

Yu Hanzhou held Ming Huan still.

He had always been businesslike, but he had to give up this “verbal statement” and was interrupted with a tiger’s head.

He helped Ming Huan up and leaned him to sit on the bench by the window. As an alpha, Ming Huan was really thin. Maybe it was because he had been sick since his growth period.

Considering his body condition, it would be better to tell him directly the results of the afternoon’s military meeting.

“You made great contributions. Those energy stones are extremely rare transition energy resources. The black star – we Federation must strive for. The merits have been recorded in the archives. As for the crash of the Pierce, we can only say that the matter is urgent and we will not impose any punishment later.”

Ming Huan sucked in through his nose and gasped for air to come before climbing out of Yu Hanzhou’s arms.

He patted the dust on his knees in passing.

“The body examination report will be out tonight. Don’t go out today, especially don’t see any omegas,” Yu Hanzhou adjusted the authority of the house so that Ming Huan couldn’t open any of the doors of the mansion, “The staging syndrome is more serious than imagined.”

‘Do not go out.’

‘He did not intend to go out.’

Ming Huan walked out of the study with a big grin and was just about to go back to his room.

Another two or three steps backwards, a little head peeked out from the doorway, “Yu Hanzhou.”

“Hm?”

“Got meat?”

Ming Huan rubbed his itchy nose tip and his backbone, which had been knocked out by an isolate.

“Hungry.”

The small dragon in the doorway tilted his head.

***

In the kitchen, the aroma of red-wine steak filled the entire dining room. Ming Huan was sitting normally, and Yu Hanzhou sat across from him on the sofa not far away to continue processing official documents.

“No need to watch. After eating, go take a shower.” Ming Huan was oddly uncomfortable.

“It’s okay.”

“Then eat.”

“No need.”

Yu Hanzhou’s terminal blinked twice. It was the report of Ming Huan’s last full body examination from the Capital Hospital.

He opened the dozen-page report and slowly flipped through it from beginning to end.

Ming Huan forked a large piece of meat and chewed it, quickly filling up his small stomach to the brim. He even drank the half bottle of rosé left over from the beef the moment when Yu Hanzhou didn’t have time to stop him since he was seriously reading the report.

The wine was much stronger than the last one, and the aftertaste was so strong that it smoked his cheeks red.

He got up with a fluttering step, burped, and smacked his mouth beautifully.

He then patted his round belly and went upstairs.

He went to the room and locked the door with a thud. He then lied down directly on the bed.

A minute later, he sat up.

‘Yes!’

‘Tonight, I have to get that agricultural planet! No sleep, no sleep!’

Ming Huan burped sweetly again before he opened the terminal and logged into StarNet.

On the next page, Yu Hanzhou’s eyes, which had always been unperturbed, suddenly shrank to vertical pupils before they returned to their original state in a flash.

His fingertips clicked on a line and zoomed in. Word by word, he confirmed.

[The alpha pheromone is the most likely allergen of intermittent fractional syndrome].

The growth period pups that get the syndrome don’t all have adverse reactions to iso-pheromone.

Ming Huan had a 99.9% probability of being an alpha. Yu Hanzhou took it for granted that Ming Huan was reacting to omega pheromone, so he had been cutting off all chances of young omega contact as much as possible.

‘Could it be wrong?’

‘But.’

‘How can it be alpha pheromones?’

Thinking about it, from the first time to the growth period onwards, Ming Huan was exposed to Yu Hanzhou’s alpha pheromone. His mood swings led to mental energy riots, and even turned him into his dragon cub form.

The second more serious reaction was in Xie Shuci’s house.

He thought it was Xie Shuci’s father’s omega pheromone that caused it.

Could it be that Xie Shuci’s father, Xie Jue, actually got alpha pheromone induced to make Ming Huan uncomfortable?

This time too.

Ming Huan, because of his sudden proximity and the failure of the isolation agent, the exposure to his alpha pheromone once again produced a stress reaction.

Yu Hanzhou raised his eyes in the direction of the closed door of the room upstairs and opened the terminal to make a call to the director of the Capital Hospital.

“President Shu, I looked at Ming Huan’s test analysis report. Why would he, a quasi-alpha, have a stress reaction to alpha pheromones?”

There was a silence. Apparently, he was also looking through Ming Huan’s body examination report.

Yu Hanzhou waited patiently for a while and did not disconnect the phone until the other side had finished reading the entire analysis of the report.

The other side also seemed to hesitate for a long time and finally said. “Admiral Yu, my suggestion is- I hope you will take Young Master Ming for another [differentiation prediction score] identification.”
