Chapter 30: Getting along

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Mimosa

When Ming Huan woke up from his afternoon nap, Shu Yun was already gone. This was the first time he slept in. Ming Huan suddenly realized that maybe he was getting lazy because of Yu Hanzhou.

Shu Yun had commented that the omega’s sense of anticipation for happy things would be magnified, and the emotions would be easily unstable.

Alpha, on the other hand, has a strong desire for possession, conquest, and aggression.

Yu Hanzhou raised him at the beginning in the path of an alpha.

Then he and Yu Hanzhou spent a long time together, but the problem was: Yu Hanzhou thought he was raising an alpha, but he was actually an omega? Is he the one with the bad temper?

When he thought about it, Yu Hanzhou did send him multiple fighters when he first thought he was an alpha, and the first few times, he took him to a hands-on electromagnetic cannon gun class in person.

Even when it came to the movement of the gun and how to use force at the shoulder blade, he was standing behind him patiently and correcting him.

Later on, he was not particularly excited about mecha and war machines, nor did he have a desire to destroy them, and it was only then that he started to be more and more permissive.

After he became an omega, to put it another way, Yu Hanzhou was actually nice to him.

He bought him a lot of food, home decorations, and also his personal clothing, but also other things. This happened all within three days after he changed to an omega.

Ming Huan was lying in bed, feeling uncomfortable as he thought about it.

His heart was so torn.

The soft and beautiful hair was scratched into a messy look.

‘Forget it, get up and wash.’

Ming Huan turned over and stepped on the soft slippers, and there was a wonderful creaking, crunching sound from the soles of his feet, like the soft crunch of stepping on snow.

Wherever he stepped, he would leave a faint, silvery-white footprint.

It looked like snow under the moonlight, and it was glittering.

‘Lovely, ah.’

Although Ming Huan’s mind was just a mess, he succumbed to a brief dream in this moment which made him feel as if he was cured.

These slippers weren’t like this yesterday.

Was it Yu Hanzhou who came and changed them for him?

Ming Huan stepped on the little slippers and snapped downstairs, leaving a small trail of pretty footprints.

After smelling the familiar smell of stewed meat soup coming from the kitchen, he stepped on his slippers and walked around the living room twice as fast as he normally could. He left four uneven rows of small silvery-white, snow-like shoe prints, and saw the flowers that Yu Hanzhou had dug up in the yard yesterday through the floor-to-ceiling window. He had planted his flowers for him.

In the courtyard, they were blooming particularly brightly.

Ming Huan grinned at Yu Hanzhou as he put away the light screen while sitting at the dining room table. He said, “Did you buy these for me?”

“Mn.” Yu Hanzhou looked at the time, “The soup still needs five minutes more. Do you want to eat something else first?”

“I can wait, thank you.” Ming Huan came closer and found Yu Hanzhou’s face looked better than it was last night, “Are you done with the military department?”

“Mn. ” Yu Hanzhou saw that Ming Huan was still wearing pajama shorts, and he called the AI housekeeper to take an extra shawl to him. Ming Huan liked his new small slippers, and the living room was filled with small footprints plus the stairs also were stepped on a few times.

Ming Huan seemed to be in an extraordinarily good mood today.

The atmosphere was completely different from last night.

Yu Hanzhou was actually torn for a moment, not knowing whether it was because of the new small slippers or because of Dr. Shu’s thoughtful guidance last night.

“Last night….”

“Last night, Dr. Shu came.” Ming Huan pursed his lips and sat opposite Yu Hanzhou as he even gave Yu Hanzhou a bowl of hot soup first when it was brought out.

Ming Huan, who was protective over food, was actually willing to give him a cup of soup first.

Yu Hanzhou said indifferently, “I’m not hungry. You have to eat more in order to grow taller.”

Ming Huan’s hand movement of giving Yu Hanzhou a spoon suddenly stopped mid-air, and he stiffened for a moment before forcing a smile, “Grow taller…”

Yu Hanzhou seemed to have noticed Ming Huan’s embarrassment.

“Even if you’re short, it’s okay.”

“…”

Ming Huan did not speak.

The soup was not even scooped.

The AI housekeeper, under the eyes of Yu Hanzhou, gave Ming Huan a bowl of steaming beef bone soup. Ming Huan looked at the white, rich, and delicious soup, and his appetite twitched. The appetite had never been this much in the past few days.

Ming Huan held the soup bowl and drank small bites. His round lips were slightly red and moist when the soup soaked them, like the fruit of the late autumn.

The beef bone soup was Ming Huan’s favorite. Except for the bowl given to Yu Hanzhou at the beginning, the rest of the four or five bowls were finished by Ming Huan himself and weren’t wasted.

“Yesterday, senior Shu Yun told me that the prospective alpha should exercise self-control. The quasi-omega should exercise to weaken the sense of expectation.”

Ming Huan licked his mouth, “Can’t be satisfied with those things constantly. You have to learn to-“

“Delayed gratification.” Ming Huan thought for a long time and finally remembered the word that Senior Shu Yun had told him.

Yesterday, he and Shu Yun talked for a long while. That’s why he woke up late today.

Senior Shu Yun said that he was not used to it at first when he became an omega, but then he slowly got to know himself better and adapted. Ming Huan thought he could as well.

“For example, the ice cream in the locker. Won’t eat it today. I’ll wait some days to eat.”

Ming Huan looked like he was expressing his determination to Yu Hanzhou, and his eyes did not even glance over to the kitchen.

“You eat it.” Yu Hanzhou said, “You are in the changing period. And….”

“An omega, if you can find the right alpha, you can also spend a lifetime without restraint.” Yu Hanzhou finished, his face showing no emotions.

“But how do you know if I can find the right alpha?” Ming Huan really continued the topic.

“If?” Yu Hanzhou asked with a self-effacing expression, “Would you consider marriage then? You said before that you were bound to get married. After becoming an omega, are you still planning to do so?”

Ming Huan propped his chin up with his hand and began to think seriously about the question.

The AI housekeeper set up a cup of coffee, and Yu Hanzhou picked it up before he took a sip. He turned on the terminal to bring up the light screen, seemingly not waiting for Ming Huan’s answer as he already started to take care of other things.

“Like…. Not willing.”

Yu Hanzhou’s fingers lurched before he continued tapping on the light screen, “Why?”

“Don’t like it, being marked.” Ming Huan said softly.

“You’re afraid of pain.”

“No.” Ming Huan did not know why he was discussing the issue of marking with Yu Hanzhou here as Yu Hanzhou used to be the kind of person who did not speak at the dinner table, “Do not like to be dominated.”

“Yes, that’s a problem.” Yu Hanzhou’s eyes turned deep, and he did not know what he was thinking, “Thought you are alpha, these three years of your guidance…. Dr. Shu yesterday told you how to say it in the future to speak your ideas.”

Ming Huan felt low, and the nagging feeling of just waking up in the morning came out again.

Originally in a previous life, he was an omega.

After his transmigration three years ago, he thought that he was an alpha.

He received the painstaking education of an alpha and learned the detailed knowledge of alphas – in the end, he again transformed into an omega.

“It’s okay, Ming Huan.” Yu Hanzhou said, “Whether you continue to be a commander, or…. Want to get back to the normal omega state of life, I will help you.”

Ming Huan raised his eyes, and Yu Hanzhou was not bad.

The original protagonist and him were simply incompatible.

‘Why?’

He suddenly felt that Yu Hanzhou was quite nice to him.

“Still….”

“Want to try being an omega.”

Ming Huan hesitated as he was afraid that in Yu Hanzhou’s eyes, he would see an expression of disappointment – just like in his previous life.

However, there wasn’t.

Yu Hanzhou’s eyes were calm, like he had just said something so normal, and his eyes even carried an indefinable tenderness.

“Okay. You can forget the three years that have passed. As an omega, we can get along again.”

“Eh, eh!” Ming Huan was suddenly unsure again, “I’m not thinking clearly! You let me think about it.”

‘Not right!’

‘It is too easy!’

This was not even a question on whether he should be a commander or not.

Ming Huan secretly slapped his head and wondered how Yu Hanzou agreed so quickly.

He had wanted to leave, and Yu Hanzhou was so controlling and used to giving orders from above in the military. Even in the moment, he should not suffer in the same way after a long time together.

‘But.’

The soup for him to drink, the super cute small slippers, and even the unfinished ice creams in the refrigerator that he did not know if he could finish it in twenty days. After he left, Yu Hanzhou would give those ice creams to other young omegas. After all, he himself did not like to eat it….

The more he thought about it, the farther he went!

‘Cut!’

‘Right oh.’

He had become an omega, so why did Yu Hanzhou still have to live with him?

“I’m already an omega, you have no obligation to raise me.” Ming Huan said honestly, ” I know that raising someone is expensive, you also have no need to do so, ah, anyway, after twenty days, when I’ve completely differentiated, we don’t have to be linked….”

In the end, what exactly was Yu Hanzhou thinking while raising him to be such a money burning furnace?

Yu Hanzhou did not answer but asked, “After differentiating, are you ready to move out here?”

Ming Huan almost said that his planet had been bought, and all he needed to do was sign the agreement.

Yu Hanzhou pulled up the rent for Capital Star’s lot near the military academy and said, “You like a bedroom with a big balcony and a large area, and you need a single bathroom and a small room. Together, these items alone would require a monthly rent of at least 300,000 star coins, which is nearly four million a year…The clothes you wear, the monthly expenditure is about 30,000 star coins, and what you eat is bought according to the top ingredients, and all of them are high-grade meat. A month consumption no less than one hundred thousand, medical checkups every three months, seven figures per year of tuition fees, also transportation costs -”

Yu Hanzhou’s tone was extremely light, and he slowly sipped a mouthful of coffee at the end, “If you move out of here, this money, where are you going to get it?”

Ming Huan stared in disbelief.

After three years, Yu Hanzhou did not count the accounts in front of him.

He only recently knew that raising him cost money, but he did not know it was so expensive!

If he thought about it, Yu Hanzhou spent money like water to raise him for three years, what exactly did he want?! It was a good idea to have a commander as a subordinate to ease the burden of work.

The result was that he actually turned into an omega!

Ming Huan, after thinking about the situation for a while, was suddenly disappointed.

He was a blood sucking money bank!!!

Ahhhhh….the realities of the expenditure of everyday Life😁

But, MH can afford to move out as he works. Why would he want to move out when everything is soooo good 👍🏻

Regardless of finances, I can’t see MH moving out now, especially as he’s starting to see the other side to YH.
Had he actually been an Alpha, YH’s treatment of him would have been fitting; perfect even.
I hope they stay together.
Thank you both for the chapter.
