Chapter 34: Magnificent Scenery

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

When Lu Yao looked up, Ji Jin’s eyes were full of tears, his cheeks flushed pink as he gazed at him.

Ji Jin, in that posture, struggled to give Lu Yao a kiss. His voice was hoarse and trembling, “Don’t mark… can’t mark, whatever you want to do is… fine, just… just don’t mark.”

The refusal to be marked only fueled Lu Yao’s anger, and the permission to do whatever he wanted made his actions even more intense. The next time, he even pushed Ji Jin to the point of fainting.

At that moment, Ji Jin was just past the first stage of his heat. Lu Yao cleaned himself up a little and glanced at his phone, which was filled with messages from Ke Yu. He didn’t have time to read the details, so he just called back.

As soon as the call connected, Ke Yu’s irritable voice came through, accusing him of skipping the post-match interview and playing hide-and-seek. Lu Yao only said one sentence that completely stumped Ke Yu — he couldn’t get a word out.

“I’m in the Omega room at the stadium with God Ji. God Ji is in heat.”

Ke Yu was stunned for a long moment on the phone, then stammered, “God Ji… God Ji is in heat?”

He knew Ji Jin was an Omega and knew Omegas had heats, but putting Ji Jin and heat together was hard for him to grasp.

Even after all this time together, he had never really believed Ji Jin was truly an Omega.

“Where are you guys now?” Ke Yu asked again to confirm.

“The Omega room at the stadium. Is the interview finished?” Lu Yao asked.

“It’s over. The post-interview for MOE is still going on,” Ke Yu replied automatically, his mind still catching up.

“Help find a car. I’m taking him home,” Lu Yao hesitated, seeming a little embarrassed. “Also, get me the largest condoms… and Omega-specific birth control.”

“Huh?” Ke Yu was even more thrown off.

“I… God Ji can’t leave me now,” Lu Yao whispered. Even on the call, his gaze never left Ji Jin. The person on the bed was now completely limp, lying softly, unable to even twitch a finger.

The Omega room only had a simple shower, and Lu Yao worried about hygiene, so he just used disinfectant wipes for a quick clean.

“Okay… okay, I’ll message you when the car arrives.” Ke Yu suddenly coughed hard, sounding like he was choking on his own saliva.

The call ended, and Lu Yao hurriedly helped Ji Jin put on his clothes. Ji Jin was as soft as a puddle, trying to lift a finger but trembling uncontrollably, utterly powerless. Thankfully, summer clothes were light, so Lu Yao barely managed to get them on.

Ke Yu acted quickly, and as soon as he got the message, Lu Yao carried Ji Jin out the back door of the stadium. The interview was nearly over, and more people were coming backstage, so Lu Yao had to carefully dodge the crowd.

The stadium’s back door was more secluded, so when Lu Yao came out carrying Ji Jin, almost no one was there, making it easy to find Ke Yu. Ke Yu was standing by the car, leaning against the door and smoking. Seeing Lu Yao approaching with Ji Jin, he quickly stubbed out his cigarette.

Lu Yao settled Ji Jin in the back seat and covered him with the IKW team jacket to keep his face hidden.

“How are you guys… doing?” Ke Yu wasn’t sure if he should ask. He knew these private AO matters weren’t his business, but since he had looked after Ji Jin, he couldn’t just stand by if Ji Jin got hurt.

“We’re okay.” Lu Yao’s mind was full of Ji Jin and didn’t really catch what Ke Yu meant. “I’m taking Ji Jin back. Make sure to notify Zhao Ze. The two of us probably won’t be back for practice these days.”

“Okay…” Ke Yu’s voice carried a heaviness hard to put into words. “Remember, you’ve still got matches coming up. Don’t let this delay the games. Treat it as leave for the susceptibility period for now.”

As he spoke, Ji Jin gave a soft “mm” from the back seat — a long, desire-laden sound that made even Ke Yu, a Beta, feel flustered.

Lu Yao quickly closed the back door and took the keys from Ke Yu, ready to leave.

Ke Yu’s emotions were too complicated and overwhelming to express. He just watched Lu Yao take Ji Jin away, feeling like the pig he raised was rooting through his own cabbage patch.

The stadium wasn’t far from Lu Yao’s small apartment — about a ten-minute drive. By the time they reached the building, Ji Jin had recovered some strength and was able to walk with Lu Yao’s support.

Speaking of walking, Ji Jin’s legs were weak, and he almost completely relied on Lu Yao, half-carried and half-supported up the stairs.

Ji Jin felt as if the fire inside him had burned him clean. He couldn’t say a word, as if drowned by a wave of plum wine-scented pheromones. The moment Lu Yao opened the door, Ji Jin lunged forward and kissed him passionately.

Lu Yao naturally kissed back, and they got tangled up again — this time on the bed.

Ji Jin was really out of strength now, but Lu Yao took him to the bathroom and continued until dawn, before they finally fell asleep leaning on each other.

The hardest part of the night was actually for Zhao Ze and Ji Huan.

Zhao Ze was the first to learn about Ji Jin’s situation. He had been distracted throughout the post-match interview and didn’t even realize what he said.

Because this was Ji Jin’s first game back. When Ji Jin was at his peak, he had made many enemies. Now, everyone was piling on, mocking Ji Jin for retiring at his peak and saying he was no longer any good.

Ji Jin’s skill was undeniably brilliant, but the IKW team’s overall strength was also among the top in the league. Not to mention, after Ji Jin left, the young captain Lu Yao had led the team to win the championship again in just two or three years, proving IKW’s strength was formidable.

Now Ji Jin’s MOE team was not strong enough, Zhao Ze himself felt, and they were quite a ways behind IKW. Losing was only natural.

Those who always called Ji Jin “God Ji” mocked both God Ji and MOE mercilessly for losing, even using his Omega identity to ridicule him.

Zhao Ze worried about Ji Jin’s heat and feared Ji Jin might be disappointed in MOE after hearing all this.

But right after the interview, he received a call from Ke Yu saying God Ji was with Lu Yao and probably wouldn’t be back to the team anytime soon.

God Ji! An Omega! Even if not as delicate as others, still an Omega! How could he be with a rough Alpha like Lu Yao during heat?

Zhao Ze immediately exploded and shouted on the phone with Ke Yu. However, his yelling didn’t have any real effect and was overheard by Ji Huan, who was taking care of Ji Xingxing nearby.

Ji Huan exploded too.

It was already past ten o’clock at night. Ji Jin hadn’t come back, so Ji Huan reluctantly put Ji Xingxing to sleep. Ji Xingxing was very upset because he hadn’t seen his father; even while sleeping, he was restless, quietly calling for “Daddy,” and his little hands fumbled around nearby as if trying to find Ji Jin.

After finally putting Ji Xingxing to sleep, Ji Huan came out and immediately heard that his younger brother was with an Alpha named Lu Yao, and that Ji Jin was in heat.

While looking up the esports scene, Ji Huan had come across some information about Lu Yao, but only about matches — nothing else. To Ji Huan, Lu Yao was just some wild Alpha from nowhere. His brother was already rolling with him so quickly; how could he let that happen so easily?

If Zhao Ze hadn’t stopped him, Ji Huan might have grabbed a knife and gone to attack right then.

“Please calm down, calm down. You’re a diplomat, you have to watch your image, watch your image,” Zhao Ze quickly grabbed the rushing Ji Huan. “God Ji is a person with his own will. He wouldn’t casually spend his heat period with an Alpha. You should respect his choice.”

Ji Huan clenched his teeth so hard they clicked, but didn’t say a word. Zhao Ze didn’t dare speak either, afraid Ji Huan might impulsively attack God Ji before even thinking.

So the older brother, worried his younger brother would be bullied, sat alone on the sofa staring straight ahead until dawn.

When Ji Jin woke up, he felt like his whole body was falling apart, numb and sore everywhere, even lifting a hand felt difficult.

Especially in that unspeakable area, the feeling was indescribable.

The strawberry scent and plum wine scent mingled around him, forming a rich fragrance that was clear, mellow, and faintly sweet.

Ji Jin suddenly pushed the still-closed-eyed Lu Yao and shouted through gritted teeth, “Stop pretending to sleep!”

“Brother…” Lu Yao slowly opened his eyes, sparkling with no hint of sleepiness. His hoarse voice was happy, content, and a little spoiled. “Aren’t you going to sleep a bit more?”

“You… get out first…!” Ji Jin felt something stirring inside, but Lu Yao was holding him so he couldn’t move, and he had no strength anyway. “How can I sleep if you don’t get out?”

However, the resistance of an Omega in heat was useless. Lu Yao pinned Ji Jin down again, which caused Ji Jin to barely get up to eat breakfast at around ten o’clock to replenish his strength.

— He still sat on Lu Yao’s lap, which showed he hadn’t really eaten well.

Ji Jin felt like dough, being kneaded and squeezed until unrecognizable. Only when Lu Yao went out to get supplies did he get a bit of a break.

“Brother, stay home and take care of yourself. If anything happens, remember to contact me,” Lu Yao said while pulling out a clean set of clothes from the wardrobe and changing. He didn’t forget to remind Ji Jin, “There are vitamins and Omega contraceptives on the table. Remember to take them.”

Ji Jin glanced at the bedside table, where there were indeed several bottles of medicine and a cup of hot water. He heard the front door close, then slowly moved to the bedside.

By the trash can next to the bed was an empty box of condoms. Ji Jin lowered his head and carefully counted the used condoms in the trash, taking his medicines one by one beside them.

In the end, he counted ten condoms in the box.

Ji Jin thought: No wonder my butt hurts so much.

After counting, Ji Jin was furious but couldn’t say exactly why. He rested on the bed for a while before rummaging through his clothes.

His clothes from last night were completely unwearable, so he searched through Lu Yao’s wardrobe, not hearing the door open behind him.

When Lu Yao came in carrying a new box of condoms, he saw a magnificent sight.

Author’s note:

Regarding the different reactions to the condoms bought by Ke Yu:

Ji Jin: Fortunately, Ke Yu bought a box with ten in it.

Lu Yao: What a pity, only ten.

  1. “No wonder my butt hurts”, made me laugh. I love how business-like JJ is about it all. Have to be impressed by LY’s stamina… and large condoms.
Thank you both for the chapter.
