Do you read the novels yourselves? If yes what are your faves?

Like almost everyone else my top favorite novels we translate are GDC, LMW and SH. I tend to only read novels once they are complete, but since I edit them, it keeps me entertained and waiting for the updates just as much as the fans.

I love GDC because the story is freaking superb and keeps you engaged in every scene. It helps that K is the best translator I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She makes the scenes come alive in English that I would never gave been able to read before.

I love LMW because I like wuxia/xanthia in general and it makes it 100% better since BL is involved. Some parts are slow and some arcs are a tad bit cliche, but it’s a good read overall.

SH is one of the novels we have on our site that I feel like it isn’t getting the attention it deserves. The plot is original, the characters are hilarious and you see a certain type of character development that is lacking in most online novels. I really recommend it to any of you who have yet to read it.

When did you first start translating/editing, and what gave you that idea? (Besides wanting to share with others)

I first started in Omegaverse Addicted Scanlations back in January 2017. I tried doing scanlations several times in high school, but was denied by the groups I applied for several times. I began as a proofreader in OAS, then I turned into a cleaner and learned to typeset. Eventually I was able to do everything. After working on only Omegaverse mangas, I wanted to work on normal yaoi. Thus, I ventured out to create ExR.

How/when did you start this website?

Our website was first established August 2017, we had already released several complete volumes of manga at that point (we had only be operating for a little over five months). I decided to pay for the site out of pocket so we could have a place to post the translations of LMW, instead of on Tumblr where we were posting our manga chapters.

All the people you work with, are you guys friends do you hang out or is this relationship mostly work-based?

Most of us do not live near each other. Several of us have met up on the off chance we were in the same country/city, but we have not met as a complete group. I would consider all of them my friends as they know my life story and my background. I respect each and everyone of them and wish all of them the utmost happiness. If all of us were able to meet up, I would love to and I am sure all the rest would agree.

What’s your working method on your (Addis) originals? (do you have a complete structure of the story in your head before you write it down and things like this).

Most of the times I have the complete timeline for my novels written out, but for my latest one, FM, I didn’t have anything and was going off of what I thought of in that specific moment I was writing. This is also why I’m at a standstill on that novel. I’m trying to figure out where to go and what I want to do. It doesn’t help that I also seem to be struggling from writers block.

Also, do you speak Greek?

Nah, I’m American born and bred. English is my only fluent language. I took a year of French and three years of Japanese in high school but didn’t take it any farther. Taught myself certain words in other languages, but if you threw me into another country where they don’t speak English, I’d probably end up using an online translator.

I just wanted to know (if possible) the name of the font you’ve used for the witches’ bubbles at the beginning of Red Hood’s chapter 4.

It is 000 ChitChat TB.

You can find it HERE.

WHY AREN’T YOU UNCENSORING EVERYTHING ANY LONGER????

Well now, calm your jets, person who isn’t even offering to help with our releases. Although its apparently an unpopular opinion, I decided I would rather release manga chapters that are complete instead of sitting on them for months just because it’s not uncensored.

Technically, you’re reading the manga as the mangaka released it, censored. If you’re unhappy with my decision for my group, you’re more than welcome to stop reading our releases. You’re not thinking about the reasons behind why we do what we do.

Censored dicks aren’t the end of the world and it also doesn’t mean we are doing a half assed job. We release 6 manga chapters weekly and 10 novel chapters on top of that. If you are not reading on our website, you’re reading off an aggregator. Aggregator sites can change any of our releases how they wish. Just like they’ve been recensoring our uncensor. Thanks for reading our releases, but don’t harp on us just because we only uncensor certain projects.

Do you perhaps know where I could buy novel of Mo Dao Zu Shi in English version (published one)?

Sorry if this sounds rude, but can all of you please stop asking this? If there was a published version, we would not be translating it in the first place. If there ever comes a day where there is a published, paid for version in English, we will let you know. But, as of right now, you can only buy it in Taiwanese or Chinese.

I can never figure out your passwords, how do I get extra hints?

We do not give out second hints. If you have issues with the passwords, just wait a week for the next chapter release and the password is removed. If people would stop sharing our work to other sites before the 12 hours is up, passwords wouldn’t be there.

I got some tips (?) and suggestions for any of you who send us fan mail or emails in general.

We are not taking in any requests for ANY material whether it is a novel, manga or manhua. Please do not ask us to translate anything. Our translators pick what they want so that way the projects aren’t dropped halfway.

When did we suddenly become a group who commissions translators? Please do not ask us to hire you and pay you to translate anything. We have enough translators and we do this for free, how are we supposed to pay you? With our drug money?

WE ARE NOT GOOGLE.

Please stop asking us questions that are easily found out if you use Google, Bing or any other search engine. No, we do not know how to change your password for that messaging app you downloaded a year ago. Sorry, but we do not know what that one manhua is called that you’ve been following for over a year even though you can’t read Chinese.

I’d like to say thank you again for everything. And for the hints for the manhuas, I have to say I find it funny. It’s like a Scavenger Hunt. And I’m really happy when finally it works after a few or a lot of trials. It’s true people should have more respect towards your work because you’re doing it because you want and like it. And agreed with the google thing. It’s not as hard to write down the novel or the manhua you are looking for and google or ask or any other page is why they exist. Hugs… Read more »

I have to agree with you on Sh, it is so funny, Sometimes I picture Feisha as an old lady, leaning over the back fence ready for a good gossip section and at other times as a handsome virile character trying to attract his sweetheart, but either way the novel makes me laugh so thank you very much for doing it.

Lol..your responses are hilarious. I love them. Random question here. Have you ever read koori no mamono no monogatari? I think it’s so funny and such a sweet story. The reason I’m bringing it up is because ling xiao and momo from LMW remind me of the main characters Ishuca and blood. Their personalities are definitely similar and so is their relationship. If you haven’t read I think you should take a look at it for your own personal read.

Anyway, thanks for your hard work. 😊💕
