I am adding a new daily thing to do to keep the community active and to help those who are shy have a chance to talk about something. So this is our newly added series: Question of the Day!
I (or members in ExR) will ask one question daily to see everyone’s opinion on it.
The first question of this series is:
- How did you get into yaoi/danmei/BL?
Addis’ answer: I started reading shounen-ai back in 2012 because I read all of the release shojo and josei that I could find. I wanted to find something with a different plot and stumbled upon Junjo Romantica and Loveless.
Mmm…I was reading gen/hetero series many years ago. I got into BL because of the fanfics of said series (Legend of Sun Knight, The King’s Avatar, etc) The first ever BL series I read was Painter of the Night (shocking, yes, it’s explicit, esp for a newb) and then I branched onto BL novels cuz of the imagery (⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄
For me it first started with little things such as seeing guys interactions with each other in anime, and the more and more anime I watched the more I became interested in BL/Yaoi. And then I just so happened to come across MDZS,which was a blessing to me, and I will never forget the happiness it brought me in my life.
I have a senior from an online group who likes yaoi. I was kind of influenced, and the very first DJ I read was Eren X Levi 🤣 I got into yaoi more back in 2018, when I watched MDZS, then read the novel, then read the rest of MXTX novels, and that’s how I got into danmeis!
Most of my family members and friends were into it and so it bcame an acquired sweeeeeeet and nice taste
My first experience was pretty hardcore too. I was watching Mirage of Blaze in the tv and I was looking for the continuation on the internet…and I just stumbled upon an animated Viewfinder 😂 Probably everyone remembers what Asami did to Takaba in the first episode, haha. It’s been years…There is no continuation for MoB anime but I read some novel translations and its ending made me cry for days, actually I’m still crying, it broke my heart for a lifetime.
I started from watching the UT and wanted to read the GDC so I serched and found ExR after I finished reading the GDC then I started reading the novels on ExR and keep following until now.
I can’t remember anymore, it’s a long time ago like grade 6 but well I know I started on mangas
Watched The Untamed and loved it so naturally read GDC and the rest is history, I suspect a lot of people are the same!!
I started by reading some Manga on line and then hard copy like: The World Greatest first love and so on and then Idiscovered on your site and MDZS ( and manga, audio drama, The Untamed and so on..) and your other stories ( ex The Heart of a Smith, which ois do good). I need a story in order to read the novel or Manga not only sex…Reason why I like your site so much,Thnak you for your hard work
