Chapter 15: The Considerate and Thoughtful Hero =V=

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Karai

After the Hero made a firm decision about his future, he went all in and proposed. He was certain that the Demon King had truly been confessing his feelings before.

Joshua had a bad temper. That meant Joshua was unwilling to back down. It meant Joshua refused to show weakness to him. It meant Joshua wouldn’t straightforwardly admit he liked him. And when Joshua himself was confessed to by someone else, the thought hit him instantly—making him flare up.

Then, when Joshua was irritated, he unexpectedly saw him and, taking advantage of something in his hand, tested him. When he couldn’t get an answer, he stormed off in anger. After that, a bloodshed triggered by a single word unfolded.

The Hero replayed the truth in his mind. After the Demon King accidentally hurt himself, the Hero didn’t know whether to feel relieved that he hadn’t been beaten half to death as well or to feel sorrow for the Demon King’s new wound.

Overall, though, he put that dilemma aside for the moment and, outside of everyday life, helped the Demon King tend to his injury. This was on the advice of the village chief, who had quietly watched the Demon King’s first and second clarifications and then silently bowed out. The Demon King, being cared for, muttered, “…It’s still me who’s the unlucky one.”

My Demon King’s reputation. My Demon King’s flawless record. My Demon King’s one hundred percent black history. All were ruined and created here by this Hero. Under the village chief and the Hero’s consensus, the Demon King’s expression darkened, feeling like his career as Demon King faced the biggest crisis besides death itself. And this crisis had appeared while his life was still not fully secure.

“Hero, you promised to return to your hometown—do you remember your words?”

For a whole day, there was no sign of movement. When changing his bandages, the Demon King silently questioned the Hero, who had gone back on his word, hoping that the Hero, now nearly healed, would just get far away.

After all, the Demon King thought that given his current situation—staying in a remote village and not specifically going to the main base—no one would easily recognize him as the Demon King. Besides the Hero, he was unlikely to meet anyone else.

Especially since everyone was used to the Demon King staying secluded in his castle (secretly sleeping) and raising monsters in the Death Realm (playing with his pets).

Thinking of his beloved little ones, the Demon King glanced blankly at the Hero, who had caused him and his pets so much trouble. A blood feud that would never end without death. Today, the Demon King was also a Demon King who wanted to chop the Hero to pieces.

The Hero carefully finished changing the bandages in his sight. “Does your hand still hurt? Is your finger okay? Any discomfort anywhere? Don’t go moving it carelessly, okay?” he asked gently, inspecting the wound to make sure nothing else had gone wrong and advising the Demon King not to act rashly to avoid further injury.

The Demon King: …

The more gentle and meticulous the Hero was, the more the Demon King felt overwhelmed and frustrated. Especially as the Hero gradually became more and more talkative and annoying.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!

…

In the middle of this breakdown, after staying because of the Demon King, the Hero wrote a letter. The letter mostly talked about what happened after he left, intending to clarify that the villainous and cunning Hero in the rumors was not him, that he hadn’t abandoned the princess alone in the forest, and also…

“I met my destined person. Bless me, dear Grandpa John. I hope you’re all doing well in Courage Town and getting better every day.”

With his parents gone, the Hero wrote to the village chief grandpa who had taken over his life after he turned fifteen, reporting safely, clearing up misunderstandings, and sending regards to others back home.

After finishing the letter, the Hero briefly introduced the people from his hometown and asked the Demon King if he wanted to send any words to anyone.

The Demon King, who felt no joy in life, was diligently restoring his magic day and night and replied firmly, “No need.”

The Hero added one last line: “Joshua sends his regards to you all. Missing you, Owen.”

That letter was sent off just like that.
