Chapter 42: Territorial Mark

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Editor: Karai

“Dr. Lin’s body sensors are disconnected, I’ll go find him where the signal was last seen.” Ika relayed the message in code to Godric inside the fortress, handed over control of his systems to Ruth, donned a uniform and walked quickly towards his separate lab on the Victoria.

The independent lab was at the rear of the Victoria, near Ika’s own bedroom, and a surprising figure appeared at the end of the corridor leading to it.

“Ryan, what are you doing here?”

“I… Ugh…” Ryan hung his head, a little bereft.

With the Zerg tide, the entire Abyss Fleet crew was mobilized, but Ryan, who was not part of the establishment despite living on the Victoria, wanted to help, but didn’t know what he could do. He heard that Professor Lin was still missing…

Ryan didn’t know what to do. The situation was critical, and he had no direct access to Marshal Chu or Major Arnold, nor did he have access to Ika’s studio, so he had to circle around Ika’s bedroom door like a fly on the wall, hoping to run into him by chance. When Ika saw that he didn’t say anything, he came around behind him with no expression and opened the door to his separate lab.

“Eh, Ika!” Ryan rushed into the lab after Ika’s footsteps, stunned by the vast technological space inside, and then found Ika climbing onto the scaffolding in the center of the lab, about to remove the plastic blocking cloth covering the unknown giant.

Under the cloth appeared to be some kind of space shuttle. Seeing that Ika had already opened the hatch and sat inside, Ryan ran quickly and grabbed the hatch, saying in horror, “Ika, what are you doing!”

We can’t just fly a shuttle inside the Victoria, can we? The outside of the ship was surrounded by Zerg, and the two of them had barely had a few minutes of peace to talk to each other as the humans manned mecha and space weapons to fight the vicious Zerg.

Now going out in a paper-thin space shuttle was putting themselves in the Zerg’s mouth!

Ika looked down at him and said, word for word, “Dr. Lin is missing, and I’m going to find him.”

“Where are you going to look for him?”

“Somewhere far away.”

The locator on Lin Xu had failed in the Black Barrier Zone, followed by a period of confused and disordered signals, and finally recovered not long ago, but soon the signals from the body sensors disconnected, and Ika was uneasy and ready to go look for the man himself.

He tried to pull the door, but was held up by Ryan, “Wait wait wait, do you have directions? I’ll go with you.”

Ryan looked miserable, poor and sincere. Ika stared at him for a moment, let go of his hand and let him into the shuttle, and gave Ryan the pilot seat.

Ryan was terrified, “What’s this for? I’ve never flown a shuttle like this before.”

“It’s an experimental model, I’ve never flown one either.” Ika pulled out the light screen, pressed a few buttons and then moved to Ryan, “The instructions, follow them.”

The dense instruction text made Ryan’s eyes black, not waiting for him to react, the cold fog suddenly filled the space shuttle outside. Ika opened the hatch at the bottom of the lab. The shuttle fell into the cold dark universe. Waiting for it were the three B-Class iron beetles with their mouths wide open.

“Crap!” Ryan screamed at the Zerg as Ika calmly pushed a button on the console, and ultra-high energy particle beams shot out of the bottom of the shuttle, ripping through the Zerg and the universe.

Lin Xu was in heat. The liquid on Heinrich’s hands turned cold as he froze, and the edges began to solidify. He wiped his hands haphazardly with a towel, but this towel was also stained with liquid, mixed with blood and staining Heinrich’s hands red.

The scales reflected a fascinating shine in the moonlight, with a pale blue polarized light, still open and closed, like some kind of invitation. He jerked up and tried to walk around, averting his eyes from the sight, but Lin Xu let out a low whimper, like aggravation and distress.

Heinrich stumbled to a halt and turned his head to find Lin Xu looking up at him with his eyes open, his eyelashes stuck together with sweat and what might have been tears, his eyelids reddened. Weakness and resignation passed over his normally cold face, and his shaking hands stopped as Heinrich looked at him, the scorched bruises of the current stabbing brightly into view.

Heinrich felt a momentary lack of oxygen in his brain, black and painful, as if to remind him of what he had done.

The next moment, the dirty towel was thrown aside by Heinrich, he leaned down and wiped Lin Xu’s tears away with his fingers, his low voice becoming raspy with helplessness, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry…. . Lin Xu, you can’t cry in estrus, you’ll get dehydrated.”

The loss of fluids and energy during the omega estrus period caused them to become dehydrated and weak, requiring the preparation of large amounts of food and water. Lin Xu was not an omega, but a mermaid in the estrus phase also constantly overflowed with water, consumption of physical strength, the barren and dry desert was not necessarily enough water food supplement, the situation would only be more severe.

“Wuu…Wuu…”

Lin Xu’s lips opened and closed, his breath sounded inaudible, but each word was mixed with sweet heat, and for a moment Heinrich’s vision blurred, unspeakable thoughts like seeds fighting to grow and flourish through the thick, moist soil.

No, no.

Heinrich solidified his gaze and sidled up to Lin Xu, trying to hear what he was saying. Suddenly, a sharp pain came from the nape of his neck and blood slid down the curve of his lips and chin onto Lin Xu’s chest. Lin Xu bit down on Heinrich’s neck as he approached!

Heinrich pressed Lin Xu’s shoulders to save himself from the mermaid’s sharp teeth and took two steps back with a gasp. Only to see Lin Xu’s eyes glowing red, staring viciously at Heinrich, his mouth still chewing and crunching on the dragon scales growing from the wound.

All signs of weakness and aggression were false, he just wanted to lure Heinrich closer. And then get back at Heinrich for using strong magnetic handcuffs to bind him. How fierce.

Heinrich wiped a handful of blood from his neck, the bright red color as harsh as the droplets of blood sliding down his chin to the fish tail on the mermaid. Sweat also soaked his silver hair, and Heinrich’s mind was not as calm as his senses.

Pain made Heinrich cautious, but all the colors, all the smells, all the sounds were pulling him toward the abyss of desire, horrible raging alpha possessiveness screaming in his genes. He closed his eyes hard, forced himself around to the back under the deadly gaze of Lin Xu, fetched some clean towels and soaked them in hot water.

He paused a few times during the process, holding the wall, pressing down on something stupid. Lin Xu also clicked and oozed from behind, slapping the ground with his robust tail.

Stars glided in the sky track, and the mecha stood in the sprawling desert as if it were a fortress of silence.

Heinrich returned with a steaming towel, not unlocking the magnetic handcuffs holding Lin Xu down, keeping a safe distance where he could not be bitten by Lin Xu, and wiped the blood off his body and tail. The soft, white towel touched the skin gently, moving more gently than before and bypassing the wound without causing pain.

This seemed to soothe the mermaid, whose tendency to attack gradually diminished, and when he reached his tail, Heinrich noticed that Lin Xu was still flowing and that his tail was persistently curling around his waist.

Heinrich didn’t hide, but kept wiping away the water stains with a towel, always keeping the mermaid’s tail clean and fresh, while gently stroking it in an embracing position. Silence and tenderness put an end to the strong confrontation.

Beyond the mecha, three clear satellites rotate around the planet at different speeds, silent and still. Slowly, Lin Xu calmed down and drifted off to sleep in exhaustion. Heinrich leaned over and wiped away the blood from Lin Xu’s lips. He looked at Lin Xu’s dry, rose-colored lips, always choked by a deliberately controlled breath, revealing the long-suppressed feelings Heinrich had suppressed with gentle calm.

The last bit of blood was not wiped clean, and Heinrich wiped it with his index finger and gently rubbed it on the back of Lin Xu’s neck. It was like a territorial mark.

What woke Lin Xu up was the glare of a star shining directly into the mecha. He tried to raise his hands to shield his eyes, but found himself handcuffed to the back of the chair, unable to move.

Memories of last night gradually surfaced, and he frowned and scowled as he continued to try to lift the strong magnetic handcuffs by force, the electricity spilling out between the gaps in the handcuffs causing him to suck in a breath of cold air and shudder as his back tightened against the back of the chair. Lin Xu did not move, closed his eyes and continued to recuperate.

After a while, the rattling of the hatch led him to look up, Heinrich, covered in sand, pushing the door in. Once he saw Lin Xu wake up, his feet froze at the door, the sand behind him was still whistling.

After a long time, he pulled on the hatch, the sound like to wake up Heinrich, the cold working expression has not yet faded, the corners of the mouth pressed down a few points, “You are awake.”

“Yeah.” Lin Xu adjusted his hoarse voice, not caring about Heinrich’s tone, “Do me a favor.”

“What?” With the lesson he learned from last night’s baiting, Heinrich was very cautious at the moment. Lin Xu’s tone remained the same, “Marshal, please help me unlock the handcuffs and I won’t attack you again.”

The familiarity of the address relaxed Heinrich; last night’s mermaid had almost treated him like prey, but not Lin Xu. He was cold and distant to the core.

Heinrich walked over and unlocked the strong magnetic handcuffs with a code, the scorch marks on the other man’s pale wrists standing out.

“Let me medicate you.” Heinrich said. Lin Xu pressed his wrist, with little expression on his face, “It’s okay. Marshal, can I have a shirt?”

After the energy was replenished and the sense of crisis was calmed, the fishtail slowly turned back into a human leg before Lin Xu woke up. In his mermaid state, Lin Xu ripped off all his clothes, leaving not a single piece of cloth.

“Oh,” Heinrich responded sharply as if he had finally realized this, pulling aside a military jacket and putting it on Lin Xu’s shoulders, “use this first.”

Lin Xu gathered Heinrich’s uniform, covering his body as much as possible, but below the knee was still exposed, corroded fish scales also turned into a wound on the skin, a little gruesome. The long hair soaked with sweat dried and fell loosely on Lin Xu’s forehead and shoulders, and the wide black uniform set him off even thinner, with easily visible bone joints.

Long hair, jacket and Lin Xu’s mental state could not be described as neat, but it was by no means damp and muddy either. Fragile and steely cold stirred together, the man looked like a pine branch mixed with snow, cold and exquisite, but also seemed a bit rough. Lin Xu’s mermaid form last night, however, was full of desire, madness and unknown despair.

Heinrich handed him nutrients and water, and Lin Xu nodded along with Heinrich’s hand and took it, pausing for a moment to say, “Can you take back some of your pheromone?”

The entire cockpit was filled with the vetiver scent, making Lin Xu’s nerves jump. Heinrich took a step back and restrained his pheromone. After seeing Lin Xu’s frown loosen and drinking the nutrient, he inquired, “Lin Xu, can you take back… your pheromone too?”

From the moment they met on this planet, the sweet aroma poured out of Lin Xu’s body in a steady stream, almost like a flood against the dam of Heinrich’s sanity. Lin Xu’s foggy gray eyes looked at Heinrich and found him speaking seriously and earnestly, with a hint of patience in his face. Lin Xu got equally stern, “I’m not alpha or omega , no pheromone, what do you smell?”

The author has something to say.

Now that I’m on what I’m going to write…

Their emotional progress is not that fast, Professor Lin is still at the stage where he doesn’t feel he needs a date.

And with Marshal so sensible, how can he take advantage of people?

Unless it’s a future love affair
