Chapter 55: Kissing

Translated by Addis of Exiled Rebels Scanlations

Back on the Victoria, Lin Xu didn’t have to do anything for a few days, food and cat food were delivered to his door, Heinrich paid all the bills, and the Zerg was cleared so he didn’t have to worry about work or any danger.

The temperature on the starship was constant, no worries about heat or cold, and even Blackie and Snowy learned how to turn on the quick clean mode in the bathroom to bathe themselves and blow their fur.

Heinrich did not appear much, and Lin Xu’s daily life was as simple as eating, taking medicine, reading, picking Heinrich’s uniform to build a nest, and sleeping.

If the egg in his stomach didn’t bring him the double trouble of rising desire and declining energy, he would be willing to live this kind of life after the apocalypse.

The lack of energy in his body triggered a premature rejection of the genetic modification in Lin Xu’s body, which made him sore from the bones, and the constant burning of his lust, which made Lin Xu roll around in bed, almost destroying the carefully constructed nest, and finally stumbling into Heinrich’s office.

It seemed to give Lin Xu more security than his room. He fell onto the couch clutching the uniform Heinrich had left in his office, the mermaid’s tail bursting the uniform into pieces and landing on the polished floor.

Lin Xu buried himself in the couch and shivered, his body drenched in cold sweat from the pain, until the office door was pushed open and he looked through the crack and saw a lifeline, tilting his head up and calling out in a hoarse voice, “Marshal Chu…”

Marshal Chu’s uniform was straight, without a single crease, and his silver hair and golden eyes held an oppressive power. Lin Xu wanted to extend his hand towards him, but was greeted by the heavy sound of the door closing.

Lin Xu was startled, his fishtail scales exploded for a moment, then he rolled frantically on the sofa, biting into the black uniform in his arms, almost tearing it into strips of cloth.

Heinrich quickly finished talking to some officers about military affairs, and rushed back to see this scene. Lin Xu, red-eyed and fierce, bit down on the uniform he had left in his office, and his strong, sharp teeth made a circle of teeth marks on the general rank.

Heinrich was not frightened by him, but did get a little worried, he went over to him, half kneeling on one knee in front of the couch, his palm over Lin Xu’s shoulder, “Lin Xu, what brings you here?”

Lin Xu slowly released his fangs and looked at Heinrich with foggy gray eyes, his fierce demeanor restrained, as if Lin Xu would come up to him even with a cold, stern expression if Heinrich would come near him.

“Marshal Chu… I’m here to see you.”

Lin Xu tossed aside the ragged uniform in his hand and pulled at Heinrich’s tightly buttoned collar, pressing his cold fingers against the knot of Heinrich’s throat.

Heinrich’s Adam’s apple rolled up and down as he heard Lin Xu call him Marshal Chu again, trying to control his breathing, but every move Lin Xu made was breaking down the cold, hard defenses he had forged.

He called him Marshal Chu, the invincible, invincible Marshal Chu, the unfeeling, frosty Marshal Chu that people talk about. Lin Xu didn’t just want the sincerity and tenderness that Heinrich showed, he wanted to rip off Marshal Chu’s uniform and cold face, to make the abstinent restrainer move. His fingers fell on Heinrich’s cheek like a cloud, as if he were tracing a painting.

But the trembling fingertips made Heinrich notice the abnormality, “Are you uncomfortable?”

Lin Xu, “Then will you help me?”

Heinrich remained as he had that night, his broad palms in control of the fishtail. Lin Xu clung to the back of Heinrich’s shoulders in a shudder and disorientation, and when the wave subsided, the fever and pain of genetic rejection swept over him again. He gasped and whimpered in Heinrich’s ear, “Don’t stop, Marshal Chu, just a few more times, okay?”

The fishtail became extra sensitive after a few times, and Lin Xu nearly fainted in a shudder, no longer able to control his voice, pouring out all the breath that had been suppressed in his throat and lungs.

The momentary intoxication masked the pain in his bones, and he held onto Heinrich until his lips were dry and flaky from the loss of water.

In his haze of consciousness, he felt Heinrich take a glass of water and feed it to him, the arcs still running through his body and making him twitch, but Lin Xu was so hungry his stomach hurt and he leaned on Heinrich’s shoulder, “I want to go to my room.”

“Now?”

“Mn…”

Heinrich put down his glass of water and looked at Lin Xu’s watery tail, the water stains from his hands also fell on Lin Xu’s shoulder, dripping wet and reflecting light.

It wasn’t so easy to carry Lin Xu in his mermaid form directly back through the corridor to area H. Heinrich wanted to ask Lin Xu if he could change back to his legs, but Lin Xu was leaning against his shoulder, drowsy.

Not wanting to disturb him, Heinrich thought for a moment and asked Ruth to clear and close the corridor for now, then used his coat to cover Lin Xu’s tail, which was slightly swollen and turned out from the friction, revealing a lighter color on his black tail, all of which was now covered by his uniform, which smelled like Heinrich.

Lin Xu was carried all the way back to his room, leaving an office full of water and mess for the intelligent cleaning robots to clean up. The mermaid tail was extremely long, with a wide, flowing, translucent tail fin that hung softly, fluttering in the wind brought up by the fast walk and slapping against Heinrich’s calf.

Heinrich returned Lin Xu to his nest, where he rolled into the soft fabric, buried himself in the pile of uniforms, and spoke sullenly, “Get out.”

Heinrich’s hand paused as he picked up the towel, he looked down at Lin Xu, but only saw the back of his head, “Don’t you want me to clean you?”

“No, you go out first.” Lin Xu’s fishtail flapped, seemingly a little impatient, the soreness of his fishtail preventing him from making too drastic a movement. Heinrich was silent as he folded the bath towel and put it on the bed, turned and walked into the bathroom to put on a tub of water and selected the keep warm mode.

Lin Xu, after Heinrich closed the door, dawdled over to the bed, fished out the box of crystals, picked out two blue crystals, and slowly chewed and swallowed the energy. The pain in his bones caused by the rejection had been calmed by the energy of the crystals, and Lin Xu was lying on his back, chewing, not really wanting to move.

When Snowy jumped curiously to his side, Lin Xu put the box in another place with his back hand so that it would not be touched. The blue crystals tasted like mint, and he picked another clear icing sugar-flavored crystal, two knuckles long, and bit off half of it with his sharp mermaid fangs when Heinrich pushed the door back in.

As soon as he entered, he saw Lin Xu holding half a clear gemstone in his hand and putting it in his mouth.

“Lin Xu!”

Lin Xu’s hand shook with fear.

Once Heinrich was kicked out by Lin Xu, he stopped in the hallway, and as soon as he looked down, he realized that his hands were full of stickiness that he hadn’t had time to clean up. He still didn’t understand what Lin Xu was thinking.

Lin Xu would call out his name in a soft, sticky voice, take him by the shoulders when he was shaking and tell him to hurry up again, but he would also ignore Heinrich when he was drowsy and even kick him out of the room.

Heinrich wanted to stay with Lin Xu, but not knowing what Lin Xu’s attitude thought, everything burned like a bee sting on his skin.

The crystalline droplets on his fingers were just about to dry up when Heinrich looked down close to his palm, his tongue and lips gently skimming over his fingertips, which had a faint salty taste and a rich sweet scent.

Touch could stimulate the most clear and distinct memories in the mind, Heinrich closed his eyes and had to take a deep breath to restrain some unpleasant changes in himself at the moment. Suddenly he turned with determination and returned to 004.

But just as he stepped into the dimly lit room, he saw Lin Xu holding the rough, unpolished crystal in his hand, half of which was missing from the top of the crystal, the other half momentarily hidden between Lin Xu’s lips.

“Lin Xu!” Heinrich’s pupils shrank and he quickly stepped forward. Dragon crystals were strong and sharp, and could easily scratch the inner walls of the unguarded mouth.

Heinrich pressed Lin Xu’s shoulder and told him to spit it out. Snowy jumped to the side scared by Heinrich’s sudden aura. Lin Xu frowned in displeasure at the interruption, his gray eyes staring at Heinrich, his mouth in constant motion, his solid sharp teeth crushing the crystals as if he was chewing a rock candy.

The image of Blackie holding half of the red crystal emerged earlier, it was not Blackie’s bite, Blackie’s bite was not strong enough to destroy the crystal, it could only be Lin Xu…

But also because it was Lin Xu who bit the crystal, Heinrich could not open Lin Xu’s mouth and make him spit it out, as he did with Blackie.

In the darkness, even the sound of a strand of hair passing by could be heard, only the galaxy’s quiet turn was completely silent.

The click of the crystals breaking against Heinrich’s eardrums was like the beating of a drum, and for a moment his mind stopped as he watched the galaxy-like stream of light flowing from Lin Xu’s lips and teeth. Heinrich saw everything, and Lin Xu wasn’t going to keep it from him.

The next moment, Lin Xu opened his mouth and put the other half of the crystal into his mouth, and while Heinrich was in a daze, he dragged him down by his collar and pressed his lips against his.

The galaxy followed the touching lips and transitioned into Heinrich’s air, because Lin Xu was sitting on a shorter section of the bed and needed to tilt his head up to kiss Heinrich, he couldn’t send the energy directly to him and had to use the tip of his tongue to assist him.

But he soon became dissatisfied with this approach, as Heinrich also invaded his mouth along the seam, attacking the city. Lin Xu tightened his grip on Heinrich’s fingers and pulled the man downward, flipping him over and up, and Heinrich was pressed into Lin Xu’s lair.

“What is this…”

The energy fluid dripped down on Heinrich’s jaw in the process, Lin Xu then moved over to lick the energy fluid away and rechannel it, blocking Heinrich’s words. The clear crystal was so pure in energy that it took Lin Xu five or six minutes to completely chew it up, squeezing half of the energy out of it into his place and half into Heinrich’s stomach.

When all the energy was absorbed, Lin Xu reluctantly pecked Heinrich’s lower lip, knowing that his own lips were also wet and shimmering with energy. Lin Xu tried to back away again, but found himself falling into Heinrich’s trap, unable to move as he was pressed against him, completely encircled by his opponent’s long arms. He could only lie on Heinrich’s chest, listening to his heart run overtime, his breath rising and falling in his lungs.

Heinrich saw the crystal box Lin Xu had put aside, the crystal he had given Lin Xu earlier had been mostly consumed, “You can chew dragon crystals? You can consume this?”

“Hmm… You can’t chew it?”

Heinrich was indifferent for a moment and replied, “I can’t.”

He had been upset about this as a child, but as his military duties became busier, he had no time to think about the problems that had taken up so much of his energy. As the chewed crystal energy was pushed into his mouth by Lin Xu, he swallowed hard, feeling a warm current spread down his esophagus and into his limbs, his body recharged.

“It’s okay.” Lin Xu spoke to Heinrich with his head sideways and eyes closed, “I’ll feed you later. Does it work for you?”

If Heinrich couldn’t bite the crystal at all, then he wouldn’t need to rely on its energy to survive for the first half of his life.

“Some of it feels like it. You use the crystals for?”

“To provide energy and maintain my… different states.”

So that was it.

Heinrich had always thought Lin Xu was into bright and beautiful stones, and wanted to cut and set a few of the original stones into brooches for Lin Xu.

“I still have a lot of crystals there, so I’ll bring you some afterwards.”

“Okay.” Lin Xu rubbed pleasantly.

Outside the window, the universe was quiet and vast, the stars swirled and revealed their faces and light, and Lin Xu’s breathing almost synchronized with them as he fell asleep.

Heinrich wrapped his arms around Lin Xu and stroked his long hair, suddenly feeling that there was nothing he had to ask again.

Lin Xu didn’t kick him out again, and Heinrich didn’t leave on his own accord, staying overnight in Lin Xu’s room. Blackie and Snowy’s green and blue eyes gleamed at Heinrich and Lin Xu, who were stacked together.

After he finished cleaning up after Lin Xu, he drove the rabbit-cats back to their own nest and took Lin Xu into his arms, curling up together in the warm, soft nest Lin Xu had built.

For the rest of the day, Lin Xu’s daily life consisted of correcting Ryan’s homework and going to Heinrich’s office. But he fell into more and more slumber, and these two things gradually became the things that occupied all his waking hours.

He would sit on Heinrich’s lap while he worked at his desk and ask Marshal Chu to help him, and sometimes Heinrich had to take communications and put them on audio mode so that the well-dressed Marshal Chu wouldn’t be seen holding a reddened mermaid in his arms while he worked. But Lin Xu sometimes wagged his fishtail in mischief, making a lot of squelching noises.
